I placed an order with the customer service staff at the South Harrow branch for a 6-inch tuna honey and Oat on Saturday, 04/10/2025, approximately 12 noon. The customer assistant on duty asked me whether I wanted it toasted. I responded yes to her, not knowing she was going to toast the tuna mayonnaise with the cheese on top. So I quickly told her not to toast the tuna mayonnaise, which can initially cause a reaction in one's health. Her response to me was that she had wasted the bread and Tuna rudely, and said this is how we handle the menu when customers order a toast. I explained precisely that this is the wrong approach as the mayonnaise contains allergens. So then I told her that the mayonnaise contains an allergen and may cause a reaction to my health, and therefore you must asked the customer ffirstly cheese only or both toasty in the oven? And I also told her the customer is always right, and not telling me this is how we do it in the store. Another customer walked into the store and listened to the argument. He quickly intervened, taking the staff's side, because he claimed I was rude to the staff member, which was not the case. I was explaining to the customer assistant that she should consider the food safety standard when serving customers. The assistant did not defuse the situation; instead, she took the side of the customer who walked in and intervented in the conversation, which escalated. I would like you to review the camera footage from the store before responding to my complaint. The sandwich that she served me was burned and Messy. Please take and treat this matter very seriously and with urgency.
Desired outcome: I would like a written statement on the outcome, and for staff to adhere to the food safety provisions when serving customers.
