carpet cleaning
The person arrived at my house and said it would take at least an hour because we paid for carpet cleaning and deodorizing.
I went into my bedroom while they were cleaning the carpet and 15 minutes later they came and told me that they were done. My carpet still smells even though I paid $25 extra for deodorizing and you can see a bunch of spots that were not cleaned.

I had a team come in and steam clean my couch and two love seats. They did a horrible job! They were here no more than 30 minutes and they acted like they were in a race to get done. One of my love seats stills has dirt all over it, cat fur on it (reason I called them in was to get it cleaned off, and it took me three times showing them additional dirt on it to get it where it is now. My couch and other love seat still has dirt on the front of it. I have attached pictures. I think they just got it wet and put deodorizer on it. They were going so fast it is no wonder they could actually get it clean. I do not want them to come back I just want a full refund, I wanted clean furniture and for $294.68 I should have gotten it!

In June I made an appointment online for Stanley Steamer to clean my small living room and a stairway. It was a outfit out of Mansfield Oh called Tonken Inc. Dba Stanley Steemer. Mike and Dottie arrived on time. We already had furniture moved all they had to do was start cleaning. They weren't here no more than 20 to 30 minutes at the most and Dottie came in and told us they were finished. My husband and I couldn't believe they were done that quickly. At first the carpet looked good. We do not wear shoes on our carpet ever. So within a matter of weeks spots started to return. As the weeks have gone by its gotten progressively worse. Now my carpet looks terrible. We paid $126 for nothing. Now I'm going to have to have it done agian. I wiil not be using Stanley Steamer agian and I will warn others as well.
wood floor cleaning
we had stanely steemer come to our home to clean our maple floors. we asked prior on the phone while booking if they feel comfortable cleaning real wood, they said yes. they got to our home and again we showed them our floors and they said yes they can make them look better. well they ruined our beautiful real wood floors in our home. we asked for a refund and they sent the manager here and he said he'll fix them. well this was a week ago, we told them we had company coming over and that was not good enough for them. we have been trying to contact them, and they wont answer. we want our 350.00 back immediatley! this is poor service and i will except it.
terrible carpet (non) cleaning service
We had stanley steamer come out to our house last week twice the first time was to clean the carpets in our house. We have 2 special needs children and 1 of them is going for surgery this week coming up. So we needed the carpets professional cleaned. Your company came out and cleaned however they left the floor not just wet but saturated . We called they sent a second crew out they did what ever and it did change at all. I had to remove the carpet out of the rooms and guess what the padding is still wet and yes the carpet.
To add to that my son has child asma and it gave him a very bad reaction.
So we went out snd purchased new flooring had it is going in but we had to spend money because of your company's mistake.
I want a call back with your company's insurance information and I think a manager should come out to see the terrible job that was done. I have all of the padding and carpet in the garage if he or she wants to check it.
I don't want to take legal action I am hoping this can get settle the right way and not with attorneys

poor carpet cleaning/ poor customer service
I had my bedroom carpet cleaned by Stanley Steemer two days ago.They left the carpet very wet.
Yesterday, the carpet was still wet and starting to stink. Today the carpet is still damp and you can smell the outhouse odor all over my home. I called Stanley Steemer - several times- and finally was connected to a dispatcher who said the technicians would be back to correct the situation between 3 and 5 today. The carpet would need to be recleaned.
I got home around 2:45. There was a message on my answering machine saying they had come by at 1:30 and I was not there. I called the Stanley Steemer 800 number and they had no technicians that could come out today. I asked if the techs could work late. No. Plus, the 3 to 5 window time frame I was given was apparently made up by the dispatcher. I would need to take even more time off of work in order to get this corrected. I have been using Stanley Steemer for years.
I will no longer use them. The only people you can speak to at Stanley Steemer are at their 800 number. They will not give out contact info for dispatchers and said the techs do not have phones (!) I told Stanley steemer to refund my money. I contacted my credit card company and put the charge in dispute.
I found another carpet cleaning company on line who will be arriving shortly to correct the mess Stanley Steemer left behind. They just now arrived. they said my padding is soaked, the water was not removed after the cleaning, the wood floor is potentially damaged and the entire carpet and pad may need to be replaced. Now Stanley steemer just called and said they found some one to come out today to inspect the problem. too late for them.
I will have my replacement carpet cleaner do what he can and hope I do not need to replace the entire carpet. Stanley steemer will here from me again if it does need to be replaced.
Stanley Steemer has lost a regular customer.Very disasppointing.
employment fraud and workplace harassment
Stanley Steemer promised me $13 an hour for the first thirty days of employment, and then they said that after the thirty days training period, I would be promoted and receive $15 an hour. On Day Two of employment they changed their story and said that after the training period, there is no hourly rate, it's merely based on commission. However it's very hard to make a living on commission as you don't get any percentage on redo cleaning, or the $99 cleaning specials, which is basically all of their clients. They also said it was 40 hours a week. Then their story changed to your day starts at 7:30 am, and ends around 8-9 pm, but there is no overtime available, or any other incentive. They lied to me on the job advertisment site, Indeed, and Mark Swope, the interviewer and manager, lied to my face about the job. I also turned down a full-time position as a meter technician with another company, because I accepted this one only a few hours before they got back to me. Stanley Steemer is about 45-55 minutes commute, each way, and I feel that I wasted time commuting, accepting this position, and that the treatment I received was deplorable. They mocked me for being a smaller framed male, they denied me a lunch break on the second day, the driver refused to drive me back and made me attend another job after I told him to return me to the headquarters, dispatch was incredibly rude, and Mr. Saxton, the manager of training, was very unprofessional when I called this morning and quit. He didn't listen to my concerns or questions, he went silent when I accused them of falsely advertisin the job and lying to my face, and he refused to pay me until payroll looks into this, which can take two weeks. He also asked me to return the uniform, or I wouldn't get my sixteen hour paycheck. Why should I waste another hour and a half of my life, waste gas, and go to an ungrateful and unethical company to get what is owed to me for a chemical stained tee-shirt and cheap khaki's?! Do not apply for a job here, they are scammers! I wouldn't even use them for cleaning my carpet, as most of the work they do is redo's!

The techs arrived on time. They only sprayed one area with any type of stain remover. Which was paint that I knew wasn't gonna come up. My carpet is dark but there is still food stains and sticky places on the floor where my grandkids spilled food. The techs knocked paint off the wall. The baseboard was hit so hard it chipped the wood. The techs were nice doesn't make up for the fact that I woke up today cleaning my carpet...

We had Stanley Steemer come to our home to clean our family room, living room and bedroom.We moved ALL of the furniture except the 2 sofas and the bed (which was on sliders for them).
We paid extra to have to carpets in the living room and family room deodorized because we have pets. Not only did they not even touch the bedroom, but the other two rooms were soaking wet for 5 days and THE SMELL WAS HORRIBLE. We called to complain and were told "oh, there must have been pet urine in the padding and deodorizer activated it". Isn't that the opposite of what it should do?
I told them the bedroom had not been touched and they said "we don't move beds" - well, ok, but do you just not clean the rest of the room either? They also didn't move or clean under or around the sofa in the family room (the other sofa was on the foam blocks they use). They said they would come back and try to clean it again, but we couldn't stand the smell anymore, so we had to remove the carpet in the living room and family room. We found the carpet tack strip (wooden) around the edges was soaking wet, as was all of the padding.
Unless we had a flood, there was no way this could have happened in any way other than them using too much water.
I told them I just wanted a refund of the $200 I spent so we can put it toward the carpet we have to replace and they said "we don't do that, we would have to come look at it".There's nothing to look at - the smell was making my whole family sick and we had to remove the carpet.

Last week i called stanley steemer to have my wood floors cleaned approx. 300sf. Ss arrived friday, july 7th. Ss said the wax had to be stripped on the floors. Ss left. Called into ss and set up another appointment with saxton for monday july 10th. Ss arrived without proper equipment. When i called ss talked to saxton he said he did not remember talking to me, but set another appointment for today. Ss called at 8:00am said they were on the way they arrived at 10:00am the price quoted to me was $486.00 included sealer. The tech said it would be $150.00/per hour. I said well spend 3 hours on cleaning and let's see where we are - i left my number and said to call me or i would come back about 1:00pm. Well i went to leave and did not realize the techs had pulled the steel grate from the hall vent and i fell into duct. My right shin and left shoulder are hurt. I said i would leave and move around a bit see how i felt. Tech calls me and said i have to come back because it is going to cost $2000.00 to remove wax. I received a call from Stanley Steemer about the job they did earlier.I talked to I think is the manager of the operation in Louisville, Ky. He wanted to redo the carpet and grout. I told him that I had talked to Coit who at the time was two houses down from my home if they could do a better job then Stanley Steemer. He came over and gave me a sample of the area that was done by Stanley Steemer. He did a very good job so I made a appointment with Coit. The next day Stanley Steemer called and want to redo my tile and carpet. I told them no and that Coit came over and gave me a sample of there work and that it was a very good job and that I wanted a refund. He said I would get a refund but said that he would still like to come over and do the work over for free because they wanted to show me that they did very good job with tile and carpet. They came over on 5/1/17 and the job was great. After they left I noticed that my grass and drive had some type of fluid on them that killed the grass and stained the driveway. They came over and took pictures and tried to scrub the driveway but could remove the stain and took samples of the oily grass. I talked to Stanley Steemer staff on the phone and wanted to know about my refund they promise and also about my grass and drive. The gentleman said he would have to talk to the person that told me about my refund and nothing about the driveway and dead grass I told him I could do both myself but it was cost $200.00. He said he would get back with me but I haven't heard a word since 5/1/17.I sent one of two pictures because it was not capable of the picture of dead grass.

carpet clean @ grout cleane
On 4/28/2017 /self mark bobrow order 3 grout seal clear, 3 bath tile clean, 1 std. Area tile clean 1 bath deodorize 1 bath protected 1 bath clean. The tile wasn't not cleaned to my liking and the carper the same. After he asked to be paid $265.00 which I paid. I told him I didn't want him to clear seal the tile because it was still dirty. He said it would look better if I would use color sealer. He also didn't get the water off my hard wood floors. When he packed up and left I noticed coit cleaners was a couple door down from my home and ask if he would look at my problem. He said he would. He came over and showed me what he could do with a area that was cleaned by your people. I was right he did a outstanding job on two small areas. Well, only headache and poor service.
1) first of all I paid for 3 rooms 99, 00 and I only have 2 pieces, and the guy said he could not clean under the bed!
2) to move just few item was quite a Mexican drama;
3) the guy asked to fill the container using the water from the shower and just broken the tub spout, and said I could fix it using some glue!And what I can't take a shower I need to hire a plummer, because the guy forced the diverter and broke the tub spout
4) After the 45 minutes job, the carpet was completely soaked, not clean but washed and I dried it using towels.
If I knew how poor the service would I would do it myself.
Pay for a service to be done around the furniture it is something very, very odd for a professional service.
tile floor & grout cleaning
I contracted the Kingsport, TN Stanley Steemer to clean my porcelain tile & grout in my kitchen and then my limestone tile and grout in 2 of my bathrooms on1/26/17. The service men were pleasant and careful of our wood floors - no problems there. We paid $464.67 for this service. Prior to leaving - my husband noticed that the grout in our kitchen was not clean so your service person offered a further service of painting our grout with a sealing primer - we contracted to have this service done on 1/30 for additional $500.00.
Once they left - I noticed that EVERY TILE in our kitchen was in fact as dirty as when they came in addition to the grout not being cleaned. I am in the process of HAND Scrubbing EVERY TILE in our kitchen with a Mr. Clean eraser to get the built up grime and dirt off that your commercial for your tile cleaning service advised that they take care of with your floor steaming service. I am half way completed with my hand scrubbing.
Additionally - I was somewhat pleasantly surprised the next morning as about 50% of the grout worked on the previous day was in fact cleaner than the day before. So now in addition to hand scrubbing my entire kitchen - I am faced with the task of cleaning 50% of our grout in the kitchen - ALL THE WHILE AFTER PAYING $464.67 FOR YOUR TILE AND GROUT CLEANING SERVICE.
In view of the fact of such a poor cleaning job - I cancelled the additional call we had scheduled on 1/30. If service was so bad after paying $464.67 why would I be stupid enough to pay an additional $500.00 for possible more bad service.
Having said all of this - our bathrooms look phenomenal - I am so upset that my kitchen floor is still a big mess.
I am very dissatisfied with your tile cleaning service and would never recommend your service.

My name is sue eckenrode living at 492 maple street, west lafayette, indiana 47906. I am requesting a payment refund due to substandard work. Specifically, the wall to wall carpeting was left with stripes and absolutely soaked taking 2 days to dry. I called stanley steemer lafayette and reported the outcome of their service. They returned to resolve the stripe problem. Unfortunately, the stripes grew more faint but did not disappear. Now that christmas is over, the furniture has been placed back to the original arrangement showing really dark stripes in some areas. The lafayette office has had the opportunity to correct the problem. I will not try a another resolution. I cannot allow the hardwood floor residing underneath the carpeting another 2 days of being wet. I worry about damage and mold. I am asking for my payment be returned to me immediately.

I hired Stanley Steamer to clean a sofa as well as a carpet. Upon arrival they advised carpet had to be taken to their location for cleaning and would be ready in a couple of days. This was on 12/27 Tuesday. On Thurs 12/29 I called the 800 number as that is the only way to contact them. I was advised they would have the local manager return the call. On Fri 12/30 I called again and was the same. It is now Tuesday 1/3 and I once again called. Only this time I was advised they could not even give me an update on my carpet, nor an ETA, nor could someone return a call as they cannot be accountable for others.
as I told the rep, all I want is an ETA on my carpet and someone to confirm it hasn't been lost as I paid $700 for it and now $130 to have it cleaned.
I will never use them again as the customer service is just insanely poor and the communication is lacking entirely. How can one call customer service for an update and be advised they "are not accountable for others"?

I had the carpets cleaned in our rental home on Nov 16 at 0800. The local Stanley Steamer cleaned the house. Their number is [protected] Their address is 105 Seth Thomas Ln, Unit 6, Swansboro, NC 28584. The house was completely empty. It took them about 45 minutes to do the whole house. 2400 sq ft. 8 room, a hallway and stairs. We are military and moved out of state. The house was inspected two days later on the 18th by blue water realty. They indicated that the carpets needed to be redone. I called Stanley back and they said they would redo it. The next week. I called again and they said they would contact blue water and get the key and complete the cleaning. Jack is who I spoke with and he indicated that it happens all the time. I called two weeks later and it still is not done. I called Jack today and he said it would be done tomorrow. They have had every opportunity to complete the job and still have not completed it. The rental company it giving them until 5 pm on the 30th to complete the job.

They were running a TV ad which stated 4 rooms with carpet cleaned for $99. I called to set an appointment. I told them that I had seen the TV ad for $99 for 4 rooms. They scheduled an appointment and said nothing about a difference in price. I had a very narrow time window, as this is a rental property and I had a new tenant moving in a 2 days after the old tenant moved out. They showed up on time, but told me that it would be $149 plus $15 for each closet. Since it was too late to try to find another company, I let them clean it, but voiced my complaint. They said that was there call centers fault and that this happened all of the time. Then when they were finished, He tried to up-sell me for de-oderizing the carpet. If you are cleaning the carpet, it should be clean when you are done. Any de-oderizing should be a part of that cleaning. A total rip off. I will never use them again.

I paid $597 to have the carpets on my 1st floor cleaned. Though the cleaning met expectations, the technicians flooded my house with so much carbon monoxide that I had to vacate for nearly two hours. The firefighters had to bring in industrial fans to clear the poison, unavoidably re-soiling my wet carpets. Had my alarms failed, I would be dead. Stanley Steemer's response? After 5 phone calls, a manager finally made contact to offer a 20% discount on a future visit. Laughable to think I'd risk myself and my family again. BEWARE! With so many other options, pass on Stanley Steemer who clearly makes your home dangerous!
they came, they were great, until the carpet dried, then I noticed..even more that the heavily traveled area was still there. I called & they were very polite & said they redo the floors ( 4 rooms). I only wanted the walkway area done... the man that came was arrogant & firstly said ' it's not going to look any different than now ' and proceeded to steam clean, but not really, it was barely damp when he left. I asked him if he used a stronger chemical to clean heavy dirty spots, he said NO they don't use them anymore, they use a citrus spray that is non-allergetic. I told him I have spot remover that they gave me in prior years, he said..that's only for coffee spills etc & they are out of it, not realizing the business they would be having at this time & that there is nothing more to be done, that my carpet was old..oh well $375.00 later FYI: used my spot cleaner on what they couldn't clean & It worked...I will never use them again, shame on them! gloria
couch cleaning
Two weeks ago, I went on Stanley Steemer's website and requested that they come out and clean my couch. First off, they show up today, May 21, 2016, I had put in my request that I have a sectional couch, for which they quoted me $85. Of course, which I suspected would happen, they come out and "do measurements" and tell me that because it is a sectional it would be an additional $50. I had also requested they do a deodorizing treatment to my couch, which online said it would be an additional $20. So of course, I thought it was a good idea to get my couch cleaned for just over $100. After hearing that my couch was going to be an additional $50 for it being a sectional, they also told me that the deodorizing treatment was now $35. So now I was looking at $170. I was not very thrilled about spending the extra money, but they were now in my living room and I knew I needed my couch desperately cleaned, so I just agreed to pay it. Now, being able to blatantly see that I have hardwood floors under my area rug which my couch sits on, you would think that they would somehow have a way to protect my area rug from getting wet and, therefore, soaking the floor underneath. When they said they were done after about 20 minutes, I had gone in there to see how everything looked and, when I walked up to the couch, all of the surrounding carpeting was completely soaked. I had to then completely take my couch sections apart, roll up the area rug, and take it outside to dry. Then a few hours after they had left, I get a service call from Stanley Steemers to see how my experience was. I told her that the couch cleaning looked okay, but that I was disappointed that this happened with my rug. The ONLY response I got from her was that "If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to servicing you again soon, " to which I had just said "okaayyy..." and she hung up on me. She did not offer to refund any of my money or anything. I paid almost an extra $70 that I was not planning to spend, just for them to come and leave me with a mess since I had to basically tear apart my living room to get my rug outside. Very poor customer service. I will not be using their services ever again.
