I am writing on behalf of my brother, Philip Maitlen, who traveled from Indianapolis to San Diego on September 28th. (Confirmation CG98KI). He is 86 years old. He changed planes in Las Vagas and was scheduled to fly out after arriving at 2:25pm. He was notified that there was a delay until 4:08, then 4:46, then 4:26, then cancelled. He was then told to be on the flight at 8pm, then 10:52, then 9:32, then 10:50, then cancelled at 1:45 ET. Then it was 8:55 and then 11:45. I am in Indiana following all of this knowing he is 86 and was sick. He ended up exhausted and left the airport in a wheelchair, paid for a hotel at his expense and then and back to the airport in the am. He was informed that his ticket was cancelled because he left the airport and had to buy a new ticket. I flew 2.5 million miles in an 8 year period a few years back and am an experienced flyer. My eyes glazed over with all of this and would have been confused as well. I fly Southwest and am most disappointed that he was not treated better than this. I am hoping you have some kind of compensation. Thank you for your consideration. Bonnie R Maitlen
Desired outcome: Apology and compensation.
