SmartBuyGlasses Buyer Beware: My Terrible Experience with SmartBuyGlasses

I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with SmartBuyGlasses. I mean, I'm not one to complain, but this company really took me for a ride. I ordered a pair of glasses and they filled the wrong prescription. Can you believe that? And then when I tried to get a refund, they just kept delaying and denying it. I mean, come on, it's almost $400 we're talking about here.

But that's not even the worst part. When I was checking out, I thought I was paying with my credit card, but it turns out I was actually signing in as a PayPal guest. And let me tell you, that really messed with my rights under my credit card. I had no idea what was going on.

And then they told me that if I completed a DHL courier slip, they would process my refund. But guess what? They never did. They just had me do that so they could put in a claim to DHL and collect money from them without actually giving me my refund. I mean, that's just shady.

And don't even get me started on their seller's protections with PayPal. They're just using that to scam people out of their money. It's really the worst online company I've ever dealt with. And to top it all off, they keep reporting negative reviews so TrustPilot takes them down. I mean, that's just not right.

So, if you're thinking about buying from SmartBuyGlasses, I would say buyer beware. This company is just plain dishonest and unethical. Don't waste your time or money with them.

SmartBuyGlasses SmartBuyGlasses Review: Are They Worth the Risk?

I gotta say, I ordered a pair of Oakley Bottle Rocket Sunglasses from SmartBuyGlasses in March 2020 and they took a hot minute to arrive. The site said it would take 11-5 business days for shipping, but it ended up taking over three weeks or 16 business days. I was starting to get antsy, but they finally arrived. The weird thing is that they were shipped from Hong Kong, even though the Oakley box they came in says assembled in the US. What's up with that?

Anyway, the site said free shipping, but then I got an email saying I had to pay the DHL fees, which was $50.00. I was nervous about it, but I clicked on their "shipping information" link and it said that international customers have to pay all duties and taxes, but they'll be reimbursed in a timely manner upon emailing the receipt. I submitted the receipt and they reimbursed me, so that was cool.

I also ordered the same pair from Sunglass Hut and I can't tell the difference between the two. I don't know for sure if they're not fakes, but I don't know for sure if the ones from Sunglass Hut aren't fakes either.

When I first checked the SmartBuyGlasses.ca site, I saw that they had a lot of sunglasses with a virtual try-on, which was pretty cool. I got a price for the Oakley Bottle Rockets of $207.00 CAD, which was more than the Oakley site or Sunglass Hut at $191.00 CAD. But then I searched Google for Oakley Bottle Rockets and found a link to SmartBuyGlasses.ca for $167.00 CAD. That was a little weird, but I took the chance and saved $24.00 CAD. Maybe not the smartest thing I've ever done, but I hadn't seen any negative reviews yet. If I had, I probably wouldn't have risked it. The next day, Sunglass Hut had the Bottle Rockets on sale for 30% off or $133.00 CAD plus tax, which came out to $156.00 CAD total.

So, my conclusion is that it's probably not worth the risk to order from SmartBuyGlasses. Some people have gotten fakes or haven't been reimbursed for the duties and fees. You decide.

SmartBuyGlasses Terrible Experience with SmartBuyGlasses: Incompetent, Dishonest, and a Scam

I had a really bad experience with SmartBuyGlasses. I wouldn't recommend buying from them. They even delete bad reviews!

I ordered my glasses 6 weeks ago and received 4 emails saying they were being delivered, then being made, then delivered, then in transit. When I contacted the store, they hadn't even started my order. They had lost my prescription and measurements. After I gave them my prescription and measurements again, they took another two weeks to send them to me (2 months since ordering). They didn't even get back to me, I had to keep asking them for updates.

When I finally received my glasses, they were sent to the wrong address! Luckily, a stranger contacted me to say they had a parcel for 'this person'. Not all customers would have a stranger call them to give them a parcel delivered to a random address. I had to call around and travel to pick them up. When I finally got them, I found that the frames were crooked and didn't sit straight on my face. The hinges were not installed correctly, so they didn't sit evenly. There were finger marks and dust all over the lenses (the package had not been opened by the people that incorrectly received my parcel). The lenses also had a dark brown tint (I ordered no tint and have written proof of this). Also, the frames are not genuine Prada, they are a knock off. They were sent from a random place in Hong Kong, not in their own branded packaging.

To make matters worse, the lenses were the incorrect prescription. I couldn't see through them. The correct lenses were thrown in separately and were not installed in the glasses. They were covered in finger prints, scratches, and chips. They looked second hand or severely mishandled. Even after I sent them photographic evidence of the defects, they still argued that the product was fine and used.

Overall, I think SmartBuyGlasses is incompetent, dishonest, and a scam. They are taking advantage of the online market. I am still waiting for a refund and for them to offer to cover the return postage. If I don't get a full refund in 48 hours, I will report them to online store scam investigators and the commerce authorities of the business country origin.

SmartBuyGlasses SmartBuyGlasses Review: Unprofessional, Counterfeit Products, and Terrible Customer Service

I recently made a purchase from SmartBuyGlasses and let me tell you, it was a huge mistake. I had read some reviews online and thought I was making a good choice, but boy was I wrong. This company has got to be the most unprofessional online merchant I have ever encountered since the World Wide Web began around 1991.

They offer a 100 day guarantee/return policy, which I thought was great. However, after receiving some eyewear from them that was simply not Tom Ford quality, I knew I had to exercise this option. The eyewear was absolutely counterfeit! But that was not my main concern. My focus after receiving this pair of imitation Tom Ford's was to just get my $300.00 back into my account.

I sent them an email, but they ignored it. I sent another email, but still no response. I was getting frustrated and just wanted my money back. I even begged them in one of my emails to not ignore me, but still nothing. Finally, after what seemed like forever, I got a response from a sympathetic employee at SmartBuyGlasses. They provided me with some assistance and a return form, which made me so happy just to have made a little progress.

If you opt for an exchange or refund, be prepared to send over a dozen emails. Expect to get a different representative, when they do finally respond that needs to hear your reason for the return all over again. You will be questioned, almost interrogated as to your reason for the return. Whatever you do, do not state that you believe they're imitations! You will need to provide digital pics.

Once you finally get the green light for the return process to begin, expect even longer delays. There was virtually no communication as to the whereabouts of my return once I mailed them out. You just have to sit, cross your fingers and wait. A worthy mention here, I had to pay for shipping!

After an excruciating return process, I finally received reimbursement. But wait, it gets better! I sent $307 to SmartBuyGlasses initially. My monetary reimbursement was in the amount of $262. After all this, I was shortchanged! Plus I paid for shipping.

Their favorable online reviews are most definitely phony, not a doubt in my mind. This is the eyeglass company from hell, worst online vendor I have ever encountered and I have been online shopping for decades. I do feel a little better now that I have vented and waited a long time to find the time to type this. I'm about $50 lighter and without new eyewear, but lesson learned. Don't do business outside of the USA. SmartBuyGlasses is a Hong Kong based company.

SmartBuyGlasses Disappointing Experience with SmartBuyGlasses: Delays, Confusion, and Misinformation

I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience with SmartBuyGlasses. I placed my order on the 14th, and it's been nothing but delays and confusion ever since. First, they wanted me to send a copy of my passport or pay with PayPal because I was sending the order to a different address. I wasn't too thrilled about that, but when I called to complain, they let me confirm the info and process the order as requested.

Then, on the 23rd, I got an update saying that the stock was confirmed and the order would be shipped within 8-14 days. But on the 29th, I got another update saying that it was delayed and could take up to 2 weeks to arrive from the distribution center, plus an additional 7-10 days for processing the prescription. And then on the 5th, I got yet another update saying that it was delayed and would take another 5-9 working days.

I called on the 9th to see what was going on, and they told me that it could take another 1-4 weeks because the distributor was "manufacturing" the glasses. I mean, seriously? They're advertising items they don't even have access to, and they lied about the stock being confirmed. And now they're saying they won't have the frames for up to another 4 weeks? It's just ridiculous.

When I asked the rep what "stock confirmed" meant, she said it meant the frames were still being manufactured but didn't guarantee availability. I told her they needed to stop asking the supplier if the frames were being made and start asking if they were available. If they're available, they're obviously still being produced, and if they're not available, they shouldn't be on the site at all.

I only bought from SmartBuyGlasses because I saw the frames I wanted for almost $200 less than at a local shop. But after all these delays and misinformation, I think I'd rather pay for the convenience of a timely transaction. I definitely wouldn't recommend shopping with this company, and I won't be taking this risk again.

I'll give them two stars for having quick and responsive online chats and a call center, which makes me feel like they're not a complete scam. But they really need to get their act together when it comes to fulfilling orders.

SmartBuyGlasses Warning: Smart Buy Glasses is a Dishonest and Unprofessional Company - Buyer Beware!

Smart Buy Glasses is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I spent many hours on both the phone and emails with them, trying to clear up a purchase which turned into a fiasco!

I ordered a pair of expensive Maui Jim sunglasses after I was told they were not a knock off and they would be delivered soon. Soon turned out to be way over a month of waiting for the glasses, which never came to fruition. Trying to get my money back took longer than it should have, and my money was tied up. I need to also mention that one of the employees promised me $20.00 towards my credit card for the long time period of not receiving my glasses, and the inconvenience the company caused me. This became an ongoing nightmare.

I told them in the beginning I would continue to wait for the glasses, their cost was lower than anywhere I had looked, and they were still giving me $20.00 additional. That was a big mistake! I kept waiting for the glasses and continued to phone periodically. I was told each time I called the glasses would arrive on a Thursday of the week, which never happened. That's when I began communicating with the service manager named who also stated they would honor the $20.00 as promised. By our third call she told me they would not be getting the glasses in, there was a problem, so I canceled my order. I expected the $20.00 and was told by she would have to talk to her manager who I also talked with and he was to get back to me and never did. Whenever I tried to phone *, the employees would make up excuses for her and say she was not available.

This was an ongoing lie, and a waste of my time. This company could never afford to pay me for all my valuable time spent with them, they are a disaster and I warn anyone thinking to purchase anything from them to think twice. BUYER BEWARE!

and I finally touched base and she told me her company would not allow her to go forward with paying me the $20.00, they would give me the $20.00 in the future towards another pair of their glasses. To me, this was a matter of principle, they owed me the $20.00 on my credit card. Smart Buy Glasses is a dishonest company towards their customers, and cheap!

I began searching again for my glasses which were harder to find with all the time wasted, but I ended up buying them at Nordstrom who were wonderful to me. They matched the price of this unprofessional company/Smart Buy Glasses. Thank you Nordstrom, a professional store who truly care about their customers!

SmartBuyGlasses SmartBuyGlasses Review: Company Refuses to Honor Warranty and Treats Customers Like Liars

I gotta say, if you're looking for a company that treats you like a liar when your glasses break, then SmartBuyGlasses is the place for you. I mean, seriously, they have no decency when it comes to refunding an honest person who can't explain why their glasses broke with normal use. I opened the arm like I always do and the metal hinge just snapped. I mean, come on, there must have been something wrong with the glasses to begin with, but this company won't honor their warranty. So, beware, folks.

To make matters worse, these glasses arrived with one hinge slightly tight. I didn't think much of it until they broke one day when I unfolded them like I always do. And get this, it took two whole months for the glasses to arrive, even though they were supposedly in stock. So, I had been using these glasses for less than a year when they broke. When I contacted the company, they said they would send me a part, but they never did. And then, they refused to honor their warranty by either refunding or replacing the glasses. I mean, what kind of company does that? They don't even honor the 24-month warranty against manufacturing defects that they advertise all over their site.

Here are some excerpts from their totally ineffective emails:

11/05/2014 "I have just ordered the right arm for you and I am trying to expedite it. As soon as it is shipped, we will send you a tracking number via email."

01/08/2015 "Thanks a lot for your waiting and I understand the inconveniences. Unfortunately we have not got any update from our supplier about the right arm although I am following up this case. It might be out of stock or unavailable anymore."

01/27/2015 (about the original glasses) "I realize that there is a metal inside of the arm from the hinge part to the end of the arm, considering the metal and the plastic covering on the metal should be very strong, that area can only be broke when an excessive force applies. From the photo of 6762, it clearly shows even the metal is broke, we would consider it's caused by mishandling of excessive force."

I mean, seriously, it just makes me so angry to think that you pay for a service and then they call you a liar. I'm sure that the break could have been caused by excessive force, but in my case, no excessive force was used. But SmartBuyGlasses refuses to believe me and they haven't done anything to honor their 24-month warranty or fix the situation that I reported two months ago.

As you can probably tell from the thickness of my lenses, I've been wearing glasses for a long time. In fact, I've been wearing them for 25 years. And in all that time, I've never had a pair of frames break so soon. It's just really unfortunate that the one time it did happen, it was with a pair of glasses that I bought from this deceitful company.

SmartBuyGlasses SmartBuyGlasses Review: Nightmare Customer Service and Shipping Delays

So, I wanted to share my experience with SmartBuyGlasses. I was really excited to order a new pair of glasses from them, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a bit of a nightmare.

First of all, I was told that my glasses were in stock and ready to ship within 24 hours. But after waiting for over a month, I still hadn't received them. When I contacted their customer service team, they told me that my package was still in Hong Kong, even though they had confirmed that it had been shipped 8 days prior.

After a lot of back and forth with their team, I was finally told that my glasses were in the distribution center and would be shipped right away because I had paid for express shipping. However, after receiving a tracking number, I checked it a week later and found out that my order was still in Hong Kong.

It's been a frustrating experience, to say the least. Their customer service team has been unable to provide me with any relevant information, and their system seems to be giving conflicting information about when my glasses will arrive. I've even had to cancel one order due to the delay.

Overall, I would advise anyone considering buying from SmartBuyGlasses to save their time, nerves, and money. It's been the worst online shopping experience I've had so far, and I'll be posting about my experience on every available forum until my order finally arrives.

But, to be fair, I did receive a discount for my inconvenience, although it was only a few cents. So, if you do decide to order from SmartBuyGlasses, just be prepared for a potentially frustrating experience.

SmartBuyGlasses SmartBuyGlasses.com Review: Affordable Glasses, Slow Shipping, and Questionable Authenticity

So, I went to the eye doctor to get a new pair of glasses. My old ones were way out of prescription, and I hadn't bought new ones in years. I usually get my glasses from 39dollarglasses.com because they're super cheap, but this time I wanted to get a nice pair that I would actually wear outside. I found a pair I liked by Carrera, but the doctor wanted almost $400 for the frames and lenses. I decided to look online and found the exact same pair on SmartBuyGlasses.com for only $148 with a promo code.

At first, I was worried because I read some bad reviews online, but I decided to take a risk and order anyway. However, I didn't hear anything for a few days after I placed my order, so I emailed Carrera to ask if SmartBuyGlasses.com was an authorized reseller. They said they were, but they couldn't guarantee that the item was authentic. I also emailed SmartBuyGlasses.com to ask why my order was taking so long, and they told me that the frames were on backorder. I was annoyed that I had to do all this research myself to find out what was going on with my order.

Eventually, my glasses were shipped, and I was surprised to see that they were overnighted from China! However, the package said weekday delivery only, so I missed the delivery guy and had to go to the FedEx store to pick them up. The glasses were packed well and came in what seemed like authentic Carrera packaging, but I can't be sure.

The glasses fit well, but I was disappointed that I didn't notice any anti-glare, which was supposed to be applied to my glasses. Overall, it took almost a whole month to get my glasses, and I had to email SmartBuyGlasses.com multiple times to find out what was going on. They did apologize, but they couldn't do much about the delay. They also offered me a 5% refund, but I still haven't received it.

If you're not in a hurry and want to save some money, I would recommend SmartBuyGlasses.com. However, if you want top-notch service and a quick turnaround time, I would suggest looking elsewhere, like 39dollarglasses.com.

SmartBuyGlasses SmartBuyGlasses.com Review: Terrible Experience with Foreign Transaction Fees, Shipping Delays, and Inauthentic Products

I had a really bad experience with SmartBuyGlasses.com when I purchased two pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses, the Kipahulu and Legacy models. Let me tell you, this so-called "legitimate" company is anything but. I had to contact their customer service because my bank charged me multiple foreign transaction fees and locked my credit card due to unusual activity. The customer service representative told me it was my bank's fault and I needed to contact them. But when I did, my bank said the fees were correct because the charge came from Gibraltar, Spain. SmartBuyGlasses had billed my purchase through one of their overseas locations instead of their US location. I had to send them my bank statement to get reimbursed for the foreign transaction fees. They promised to expedite my shipping and deliver my order within 2-5 days, but it took 5 days just to get the first pair of sunglasses.

When I contacted them again, I noticed that one of the pairs I ordered was now showing up on their website with the "Fast Shipping" option, which meant it should have been dispatched the same day. The representative said they could send it out that day, but I had to cancel and reorder. And guess what? The foreign transaction fee issue happened again, and I had to go through the same process to get another refund. They offered me an additional 5% discount on my purchase, but that was it. I finally received the "Fast Shipping" pair of sunglasses within 5 days, but the second pair didn't arrive until 1.5 months later. And here's the kicker: both pairs were shipped from Kennedy Town, Hong Kong, even though Maui Jim sunglasses are made in Italy. SmartBuyGlasses claimed they were able to offer such great pricing because they avoided having retail locations and the sunglasses came directly from the actual company. But that turned out to be a lie.

The Kipahulu pair had some unusual markings on the bottom side of the temple piece that I had never seen on any of my other Maui Jim sunglasses. And after wearing the Legacy pair for just one week, the writing on the inside of the temples completely came off. I contacted Maui Jim directly, and they told me that SmartBuyGlasses.com is NOT an authorized retailer of their products, that this is not typical of their products, and the glasses I purchased are not authentic. I tried to contact SmartBuyGlasses to resolve the issue, but they ignored me.

If you want authentic items and eliminate any problems, use an authorized retailer even if you have to pay a little bit extra. I will never use SmartBuyGlasses for any future purchases and will warn anyone from using this terrible so-called company.

SmartBuyGlasses Poor Customer Service and Communication: My Experience with SmartBuyGlasses

I recently made a purchase from SmartBuyGlasses on November 7th, and at the time of purchase, the website stated that the product was in stock. However, after completing my purchase, I received an email stating that the product was actually out of stock. Unfortunately, I did not notice this until I contacted customer service seven days later to inquire about the status of my order. At that time, they tried to switch me to a different style that they had in stock.

After waiting for 14 days, I finally received an email stating that the product was back in stock and that shipping information would be emailed to me soon. However, after waiting for 21 days, I still had not received any shipping information. When I contacted customer service to inquire about the shipping date, they informed me that it was scheduled to ship on December 7th. I was frustrated because the website had stated that the product was in stock, so I asked why it was taking so long. Unfortunately, they simply told me that December 7th was the scheduled shipping date.

When December 7th came and went without any shipping information, I contacted customer service again to ask for a tracking number. They apologized and said they would check into it and get back to me. At this point, I was angry and told them that their customer service was poor. Their solution was to offer me a 5% discount, which I found insulting considering the amount of time I had already waited for my order. To make matters worse, I never even received the discount.

Now, on Wednesday December 14th, I received an email stating that my delivery would be delayed by 5 to 9 business days. This is completely unacceptable business practice, and I am extremely disappointed with my experience with SmartBuyGlasses. I hope that they can improve their customer service and communication in the future so that other customers do not have to go through the same frustrating experience that I did.

SmartBuyGlasses Disappointing Experience with SmartBuyGlasses: Hidden Validation Policy Caused Order Cancellation

I had a really bad experience with SmartBuyGlasses. I ordered a replacement pair of glasses for my son who had broken his glasses and needed them urgently for his first few days at university. I placed the order on their website and waited for almost three weeks for the glasses to arrive. However, to my surprise, SmartBuyGlasses had a very strange and rare validation policy that required the billing and shipping address to be the same for credit card orders. This policy was not mentioned on their website, and I had no idea about it until my order was canceled.

I was really disappointed with this policy as all other online stores like Amazon, eBay, etc. do not require this validation. People travel and make online purchases to shipping addresses that are different from their home billing address all the time. SmartBuyGlasses canceled my purchase, and I had to wait for a refund to order through another online store that did not have such an odd policy. The worst part was that SmartBuyGlasses did not state this policy on their website before ordering, and they did not even mention it during the long email thread that went back and forth until I insisted to know the real reason why they did not process my order.

If you want to waste your time or get your orders canceled, you can use SmartBuyGlasses. I would not recommend this online store to anyone. It was really sad to waste almost three weeks or more ordering through SmartBuyGlasses website, and I would not want anyone else to go through the same experience. I hope SmartBuyGlasses will update their website and policies to make it more user-friendly and transparent for their customers.

SmartBuyGlasses Beware of SmartBuyGlasses: My Experience with Fake Mont Blanc Glasses

I recently stumbled upon SmartBuyGlasses, and I must say, I was initially attracted to the site because of its affordable prices. I quickly ordered a pair of Mont Blanc glasses, thinking that I had found an amazing deal that was too good to pass up. The delivery was made by a decent courier service, and I had to pay a small fee of Rs120 (2$) for the delivery.

However, my excitement was short-lived when I decided to authenticate the glasses at the Mont Blanc showroom in Taj Hotels (Mumbai). To my dismay, I was informed that the glasses were fake. Although they were a very good copy, they were still fake.

I immediately contacted my payment provider, Axis Bank, to dispute the transaction. However, the website showed that the order had been executed and delivered, which made the process more complicated. I am still waiting for the dispute to be resolved.

In the meantime, I have decided to return the fake glasses to Hong Kong by international courier. I have obtained a return receipt to show Axis Bank as evidence in my dispute case.

It is disappointing to know that companies like SmartBuyGlasses have multiple web portals with similar concepts under different names. They spend a lot of money on advertising, which makes it easy for them to attract customers who are searching for affordable frames online.

Overall, my experience with SmartBuyGlasses has been a frustrating one. I would advise others to be cautious when ordering from this website and to thoroughly authenticate any products before making a purchase.

SmartBuyGlasses Frustrating Experience with SmartBuyGlasses: A Review

I just wanted to share my experience with SmartBuyGlasses. I ordered two pairs of glasses a month ago and it has been a frustrating experience. First of all, they never contacted me about my prescription which they apparently had questions about. I had to contact customer service myself when I realized my order was still "in progress". When I called, they told me that the glasses were not being made because there were questions about my prescription. That was the first issue.

Finally, one pair of glasses shipped. However, I was not told that these glasses were made and shipped from Hong Kong. Actually, I was told that I would receive my glasses within 14 days. But that was not the case. I have asked this company to refund my money as I haven't received my prescription glasses yet. But they said they can't refund because they are in transit. It has been a month now!

After two weeks of my order of two pairs of glasses, only one pair finally shipped. I had to call back to ask about the second pair of glasses that still hadn't shipped. After two weeks in the lab, they made an error and the glasses were never made! Needless to say, I was able to cancel those glasses and was refunded. However, because I was refunded, I lost all the discounts offered when ordering two pairs of glasses. In the end, I ended up paying full price for one pair of glasses that I never received! Unbelievable! Horrible!

Meanwhile, I did order from EYEBUYDIRECT and they were amazing! I received my glasses within the agreed-upon time at an amazing price! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and affordable option for prescription glasses.

SmartBuyGlasses Buyer Beware: My Experience with SmartBuyGlasses - Knock-Offs and No Refund

I gotta tell ya, I had a pretty rough experience with SmartBuyGlasses. I was on the hunt for a new pair of sunglasses and stumbled upon their website. They had a pair of Maui Jim's that I had my eye on for a while, and the price was pretty sweet - $40 less than what I would have paid at a retail store. So, I went ahead and placed my order on 12/9/17.

At first, everything seemed to be going smoothly. I got an email confirming my payment and order, and then another email with FedEx tracking info. According to the tracking, my sunglasses were supposed to arrive by 12/14/17. But, when that day came and went, I started to get a little worried.

I decided to reach out to SmartBuyGlasses directly to see what was going on. They were pretty quick to respond and told me that my order had shipped, but due to the holidays, it might be a day or two late. Fair enough, I thought. But, when two more days went by and still no sunglasses, I called them again.

This time, they told me that my order was coming from China and should be arriving soon. I was a little confused as to why my sunglasses were coming from China, but they assured me that everything was fine. By 12/18/17, I still hadn't received my sunglasses, so I decided to ask for a refund.

SmartBuyGlasses agreed to give me a refund and said that their credit department would contact me within 24 hours. But, guess what? No contact. So, I took matters into my own hands and called my credit card company. They refunded me right away and started an investigation.

But, that's not even the worst part. I received a letter from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) stating that my order was part of a larger shipment being held in the Port of Oakland because the product was inauthentic. They also expressed concern about the glass lenses not being safe. Yikes.

To this day, SmartBuyGlasses still hasn't given me the credit refund they promised. So, let this be a warning to all of you out there - don't be fooled by their lower prices. If you do happen to receive their product, it may likely be a knock-off.

SmartBuyGlasses SmartBuyGlasses Review: Poor Customer Service and Hidden Costs

I recently had an experience with SmartBuyGlasses and unfortunately, it was not a positive one. I placed an order for sunglasses on July 19th, 2017 and paid the full amount as shown in the invoice below:

Subtotal: R3965.00
Shipping: R0.00
Gift Voucher: R0.00
Discount: R0.00

However, weeks went by and I still had not received my order. I tried to follow up with their customer care team, but unfortunately, they were not very helpful. They did not respond to my emails and I was unable to reach them by phone as they did not have a telephone number listed on their website.

Finally, on August 2nd, 2017, I received a communication from Skynet, another company, informing me that my item was stuck at Customs. I was surprised to learn that my order was coming from outside of South Africa, as I was not made aware of this when I placed my order. I was also not informed that there would be Customs costs associated with my order.

Skynet sent me forms to complete, but I needed assistance from SmartBuyGlasses to complete them. Unfortunately, they did not provide any assistance, despite promising to pay for any duties and taxes at Customs. Skynet eventually helped me and on August 8th, 2017, they sent me an invoice for an additional amount of R1021.58. However, SmartBuyGlasses has yet to pay this amount, despite their promise to do so.

I recently requested a refund, as it was also confirmed to me previously, but unfortunately, SmartBuyGlasses has gone off the radar and I have not received any response from them.

Based on my experience, I would caution others against using SmartBuyGlasses. They do not provide adequate customer service and seem to be more interested in scamming their customers than providing quality products and services. I strongly advise against using this company and urge others to look elsewhere for their eyewear needs.

My experience with SmartBuyGlasses has been pretty bad, to be honest. It took a really long time for my order to arrive, which was frustrating because I wasn't told that the glasses were backordered when I placed my order. When they finally did arrive, I was disappointed to find that I had received two pairs of the exact same glasses. I mean, come on, how does that even happen? It was a hassle to send one pair back and get a refund, and it just left a bad taste in my mouth.

But the real kicker came a few months later when my glasses broke. I was just cleaning them like I always do, and I noticed that the plastic around the lens had snapped where a screw was. I contacted customer service and they asked me to send pictures, which I did. But then they told me that the breakage was my fault because I must have applied too much pressure or something. I mean, really? I didn't do anything out of the ordinary, and I feel like it's pretty clear that the screw was screwed in too tightly or something. But they wouldn't cover it under warranty, which was really frustrating.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend SmartBuyGlasses to anyone. It's just not worth the hassle and the risk of getting a faulty product. If you need new glasses, I would suggest going to your optometrist instead. At least you know you're getting a quality product and you can trust the people you're buying from.

I had a really disappointing experience with SmartBuyGlasses. I was excited to buy a pair of sunglasses that were listed as "in stock" on their website. I went ahead and made the purchase, and the money was taken out of my bank account. I thought everything was fine and I just had to wait for my sunglasses to arrive.

After several days, I decided to follow up on my order. I was shocked to find out from "Camille" that the item was actually out of stock and my order had been discontinued without any notification to me. I was frustrated and disappointed that I had to follow up myself to find out what was going on. Who knows how long I would have been waiting for nothing if I hadn't followed up!

Camille apologized for the inconvenience and offered me a 5% discount on my next order. I declined and asked to proceed with the cancellation process. She said she would send a confirmation email right after our chat, but it didn't happen. I had to message her again before I finally received the email. I was considering changing my order, so I asked if the new item I liked was in stock. Camille didn't answer my question and after about 5 minutes, I received the confirmation of the cancellation of my order. I sent her a few more messages, but she never replied.

I hope to get my money back as soon as possible. It's frustrating that I had to go through all of this just to find out that my order was discontinued without any notification. SmartBuyGlasses should value their customers more because without them, they wouldn't have a business.

SmartBuyGlasses Mixed Experience with SmartBuyGlasses: Smooth Buying Process but Major Delivery Issues in Argentina

I gotta say, I had a pretty good experience with SmartBuyGlasses. The website was easy to use and the buying process was smooth as butter. However, I did run into some issues with my purchase that took over a month to resolve.

When I was browsing the site, I noticed that the product I wanted had a delivery time of less than 15 days, so I assumed it was in the country. But nope, it was actually sent all the way to Hong Kong, which caused a major delay.

To make matters worse, even though I paid for shipping to my home, the package got held up by Customs in Argentina. I had to take time off work to physically go and retrieve it, and on top of that, I was charged a fee for import that was a third of the value of my purchase.

But the real kicker was that the shipping label had the name of the company I work for instead of my name, so Customs wouldn't deliver it to me. I had to go through a bunch of procedures just to see if I could finally get my hands on my order.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend using SmartBuyGlasses in Argentina. The whole experience was a major headache. But, I did eventually receive my glasses after paying the tax, and they were really nice and well-packaged. Plus, the company refunded my import charges, so that was a nice surprise.

Overall, I think SmartBuyGlasses is a decent site, but just be aware that the lenses aren't nationalized and you might have to go through some import procedures.

SmartBuyGlasses Mixed Experiences with SmartBuyGlasses: Delayed Delivery and Poor Customer Service

I gotta say, I've had mixed experiences with SmartBuyGlasses. I bought a pair of glasses from them about 3 years ago and they were great. But recently, I had to buy a new pair because my puppy chewed up the old ones. I spoke to Ana from customer service because I needed the glasses to arrive before my upcoming holiday. I asked if they could arrive by March 11th and she said it was possible if the item was available on hand. She checked and said it was, with a processing time of 3-5 working days.

But when I still hadn't received my glasses by March 12th, I called the courier company and they said the tracking number was only provided because they had created a label on their website, not because the glasses had actually been shipped. I spoke to Meldeane from customer service this time and she kept telling me to cancel the order and get a refund. She wouldn't answer any of my questions about the delay or when the glasses would be picked up.

I'm not sure what to do now since I paid with a bank transfer. It's frustrating because I really wanted those glasses for my holiday. I hope they can sort this out soon.
