I went to the 313@Somerset Singtel office on 20 July 2026 in the morning to enquire about all my telephone bill matters. A staff member named Peter at counter 18 told me there are outstanding bills that need to be settled before proceeding further. I went back in the afternoon and realized one of my staff members had been scammed into entering two contracts, on the premise that she would get two handphones free of charge, as the company is a customer of Singtel.
I settled all outstanding amounts and informed the counter staff to cancel the two mobile contracts. On 22 July 2026 around noon, I received a call from 1606 asking me to confirm the phone numbers to be cancelled. I was shocked that Singtel also terminated my office fixed line without my acknowledgment. My friend and I asked the staff to restore the line, as we are using it to receive orders from customers. She told my friend that, as there was a long queue, the relevant department would get back to me in one to two days' time.
Sensing something was not quite right, I went back to the 313@somerset Singtel office and was told by a staff member at counter 17, who helped to make a call to the relevant department, that the fixed line would be restored by the latest the next morning. The restoration never took place.
On 23 July 2026, I went back to the same office again and was told the fixed line would be restored in one hour's time. Again, nothing happened. Around 5 p.m. The same staff from 1606 called my handphone and told my son that they had lost our office telephone line number [protected], a fixed line number that we used for the past 30 years.
