Seldin Company review: Horrible customer service and arduous process in Madison WI.

The application process is unnecessarily slow. Into my 2nd month of the process. Whenever I was asked for any verification. I provided within 48 hours. Miranda is great! It’s when the process moves to management where it appears to break down. Sad because it’s a really nice property.

Fast forward to 9/16/2026 Move-in day

I can’t in good conscience recommend this place because although the property is nice the intake process is unnecessarily long. The staff is not properly trained so it’s very arduous. I applied and submitted all necessary documents promptly but it still took at least 45 days to actually get keys. I don’t have my internet or garage access because my key fob is not working. I have had to stay at a nearby hotel because they kept changing my move in date. Now just spoke with Miranda, she’s stating they made a mistake on the lease I signed. Also, they are very tricky. They tried not to honor the free rent and free amenities they promised because of the inconvenience. When I noticed it they said they had to get approval from management when everything is clearly on their site advertising the free rent . Also now they stated the referral bonuses are not paid until after you pay rent. This is not true. The flyer they gave me clearly states “Referral bonuses are paid after your referral’s first month of residency “ I’m not use to these types of shenanigans in business. This has caused me unnecessary stress, money and anxiety. They said the Vice president of the company was expected 9/17/2026, to get things in order but as of today 10/7/2026 I still don't have internet access or any of the optional amenities that were offered to me and are listed on my lease. My signed lease is no longer appearing on my account. I was dealing with texts from an office employee named Megan pretending to be someone else and I don't understand how she is allowed to get away with all of these shenanigans. I don't trust her and there's no way she should be allowed to have access to my account because that's why I believe my lease is not accessible in the app anymore.

I have never done business with a company that allows this type of behavior and she's still allowed to have a job and access to people's personal information. I'm here in an apartment with just a bed because when I told them I was homeless they tried to make me take the apartment they wanted me to have and when I refused to take another apartment over the one I qualified for I feel like they are trying to smoke me out. I don't know what is going on and don't want to move all my things in and she or anyone else is setting me up. I have all the screenshots, printed copies of my lease so I don't know what you guys are thinking.

Please address these issues at your earliest convenience. I deserve to have some peace in my new apartment.
