Well... hopefully I can get a response here from them since they NEVER return any type of phone call or correspondence EVER! I live in an apartment community managed by Seldin Company. Within a 3.5 month span, we have had some serious events happen in our community! Let me list them: 1. Our vehicle was stolen and vandalized right in front of our apartment, as well as, an industrial dolly that my husband uses for work. According to the police, the burglars took it on a joy ride to commit other crimes, then drove it to a construction site and shot at my vehicle with several guns leaving my vehicle riddled with bullet holes and completely wrecked. When the police found our vehicle, we found SEVERAL bags that belonged to other people. We returned everything to the police. 2. A month after that incident, someone tried to break into our apartment! He was banging on our door so hard that he left marks on our door. FORTUNATELY, the police were able to catch him and informed us that he was severely intoxicated and on drugs. 3. A month after the near break in incident, my neighbor caught on camera, burglars who were pulling on the handles of the cars in the apartment parking lot. While on camera, one of the burglars was carrying a very large gun! The footage was given to the police and they are working very hard on the case to catch them. My problem with Seldin is... I've called and emailed the corporate company, and not ONCE have I gotten a response from them! I informed them of EVERYTHING and asked them what they are going to do to change the safety of their residents... HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING! I did notify the property employees and one of them said, "this is why we recommend you get renters insurance" and after telling them renters insurance won't secure the lives of my children and that the property is very unsafe... they said, "this property is very safe!" I wanted to scream at them because there is no talking to them! Ever since these incidents, I have suffered from PTSD, my anxiety is at an all time high, and my depression has become unavoidable. I can't sleep comfortably and sometimes, I won't sleep at all. What is Seldin going to do if someone gets hurt from all the crime happening here? What are they going to do to make it safe? ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS CASH THOSE CHECKS FROM THEIR RESIDENTS! SELDIN COMPANY IS NOT AND WILL NEVER BE A REPUTABLE COMPANY THAT ENSURES SAFETY OF THEIR RESIDENTS!

called corporate and left messages with literally everyone there and no one has returned my call. Other people have too. Impossible to get ahold of There are MAJOR issues with *** and *** seldin properties. I have called corporate and left messages with Jay, Michelle and someone else, the guy above Jay and no one has returned my calls. I know others have tried to call too with the same results. ***.

I found a house and the landlord has tried to verify my rental with Seldin. They do not return calls for over a week to verify after numerous calls! I live at *** and I have been there for 5 years. I found a house and gave *** the phone number to reach to verify. Turns out the manager does not work there anymore. No surprise we have been thru about 5 managers they all leave. Something is not going on right with the company. I have emailed, called and now they have their email set to "away" and when they give a number to call its stays on "busy". I am so embarrassed. I have been a good tenant and I just want to get a house.

I can't get service preformed at my location *** Apartment #*** The ice maker is still not working. The service request for service issue #***, 'Ice maker broken/no ice' is still not completed. By closing the ticket does not mean that the job is done. I still don't have ice after (7) weeks (2) ice makers and (4) in-house visits. Throwing parts at the refrigerator has only delayed a real repair. You could have just replaced the refrigerator since we can't fix the problem. Oh yeah, the repair man said that "WON'T HAPPEN"! I think closing the ticket is a poor way of disguising the fact that the problem has not been solved and you do not have a solution to the problem. Not only that but you have not said a word to me about when you will have a working ice maker for me. I feel like you think that this situation is funny to you and it is OK that I have to purchase ice with my own money and nothing will happen to you as a result of doing this to me. Ha, ha, I don't think it's funny, and I don't appreciate it.

Ant problem in apartment has left us with an unsanitary place to live as well as being lied to about maintenance actions. Our apartment has been subject to flooding in the past and now we have a major ant problem coming from the kitchen ruining our food, getting in our dishwasher and ruining clean dishes, and getting my daughter *** bottles dirty as they dry on the counter. This is unacceptable. I have called the emergency line to report and create service requests in which they were ignored. It has been over 5 weeks since I first brought this issue to their attention. After the maintenance requests went unnoticed I called the management office and left voicemails asking what is wrong and that I would appreciate someone helping me as I cannot stop this problem myself. The management office lied and said that they had someone treat for ants when my fiance was home and she confirmed that no one showed up. They also said that someone would come the next week to treat again which also did not happen. This is disgusting. I got fed up and called the regional project manager and spoke with her about the issue. She said that she would talk to the pest control company that she liked to deal with and they would come and treat for pests on *** in the morning. This did not happen. She also stated that the maintenance manager would come and inspect the apartment and find out where the ants where coming from. This also did not happen.

Horrible property management and failure to comply with leasing agreement. Since I have moved into these apartments at *** by Seldin has not complied with the leasing agreement that was signed. These property managers Kim and Tanya are ***. All they do is lie and never keep their word on anything that they say they will do. The apartments are supposed to be sprayed for bugs every 3 months. The last time the apartments were sprayed was in March. The apartment grounds are always filthy and very un-kept. There is trash everywhere. Anytime I submit a service request, they say someone will be there to fix and it could be months and still not receive the repairs. Tanya and Kim lie constantly. I can't believe Kim is a property manager and doesn't care about anyone but herself. They take advantage because most people receive Section-8 housing and they treat people like they are not even human. I pay my rent on my own. I receive no assistance and they act as though they are doing me a favor. A few months back I was in the office complaining about a repair issue the district manager was in the office. She heard me and came out and asked me how long have I been waiting to get repairs. I advised almost a month. She informed the longest I should wait for repairs is 48 hours. So they came and fixed all my repairs the following day. These apartment are just about taking your money. If I don't pay my rent I can be evicted but if they don't keep up their part and has broken the leasing agreements many times. This company is ***. I am really disappointed by the level of service I have received. I will never refer anyone to these properties. You are a *** and should not receive any government funding because you ***.
