I am writing to formally dispute several fraudulent charges that appeared on my Macy’s American Express credit card account.
As of July 2025, my account balance was $0.00, and the card had been fully paid off. Because the account had a zero balance and no activity, I did not routinely review the monthly statements during that period.
In early December 2025, I made a purchase at a Macy’s store and charged it to my Macy’s American Express card. A few days later, when I logged in to make a payment, I was surprised and concerned to see that my account showed a $30.00 late fee and a minimum payment due of over $94.00. This immediately raised concern because I knew my account had previously been paid in full and had a zero balance.
Because of this discrepancy, I carefully reviewed my previous statements. During this review, I discovered three unauthorized charges that were made in October 2025, which I did not make and did not authorize.
The fraudulent charges are as follows:
October 12, 2025 – UNIVERSAL ORLANDO WEBSI – $2,596.41
October 17, 2025 – WATERFORD LAKES – $20.87
October 19, 2025 – SEAWORLD/BUSCH GARDENS – $721.49
I want to clearly state that I did not make, authorize, or benefit from any of these transactions.
As soon as I discovered these charges, I immediately reported the fraud to Macy’s/American Express and also filed a report with the Police Department.
Please confirm receipt of this dispute and inform me of the next steps in your investigation. I am willing to cooperate fully and provide any additional information needed.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this serious matter.
Sincerely,
Damaris Rodriguez
