Sam's Club - inappropriate behavior and/or attitude

We have been member's for over 27 years but will not be renewing our membership this year. I felt it incumbent upon myself to advise your home office as to the 'why'. A couple of months ago my husband and I went to Sam's around 9 am, we had an appointment nearby and it was convenient. When I presented my card I was asked if I was a Plus member, I stated I was not, said I had tried it for one year, but it was not beneficial for me. At that time I was advised that I could not come in, early hours were only for Plus members. I asked when did they change, as the last time I came in early it was for business members. I was advised that the policy changed...'a while back'. I was turning to leave and someone at the front desk yelled to the person at the entrance and said, 'Get her card and let me check it', I did not understand what the woman wanted to check for, but the person checking cards took my card to the desk and came back (apparently to stand guard so I would not enter further). After a couple of minutes the lady at the desk yells across to the person standing guard, and I quote 'Come and get her card and give it to her, she can't come in now, she is not a Plus member'. I had not said I was a Plus member, I was leaving when she yelled to get my card, I don't know why the lady at the desk decided to involve herself in the situation at all and the whole incident was treated like I was trying to do something wrong and with her yelling, everyone in the front of the store stopped to watch what was going on, much to my embarrassment since what she had yelled made it sound like I was trying to lie my way into the store.
Anyway, I know in a business the size of Sam's, loosing one customer does not mean anything. But, if it was done to me, it was probably done to someone else and at some point it will matter. I do not need to pay to be treated as rudely as I was treated.
Thank you for taking the time to allow me to vent regarding your company. As for a resolution to the incident, maybe an apology? I don't know what else would make it right, we certainly can't find all the people that heard the incident and explain that I am not a liar.
