Republic Services has turned out to be an absolute disaster of a company. Their service is unreliable, their communication is dishonest, and their customer support is nothing more than a script of empty promises. At this point, I genuinely don’t believe they have any intention of fixing issues — just telling customers whatever they think will get them off the phone.
A few months ago, they repeatedly missed my trash pickup. I called day after day, and every time I was told the same lie: “It will be picked up today.” It never was. I had to chase them endlessly just to get basic service.
Now it’s happening again — yard waste this time. It has been sitting at my curb for days, and once again, every single call results in the same nonsense:
“It’s scheduled for today.” No, it’s not. It never is. They just say it.
This is not a mistake. This is a pattern: missed service, no accountability, no follow-through, and customer service that seems trained to gaslight customers rather than fix problems.
Even after they adjusted my bill, the service somehow managed to get even worse — which tells me the root problem isn’t pricing. It’s the company itself. They do not prioritize customers. They do not deliver what people pay for. And they absolutely do not care.
I’m canceling my service completely, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering Republic Services look elsewhere. This company has earned every bit of this review through months of failure, frustration, and false promises. If you want your trash or yard waste actually picked up on time — or at all — this is NOT the company to trust.
Recommendation: If you’re thinking about signing up with Republic Services, don’t. I’ve spent months dealing with missed pickups, empty promises, and customer service reps who just repeat “It’ll be picked up today” with zero intention of actually fixing anything. Trash missed. Yard waste missed. Excuses every single time. They cannot deliver the most basic service they’re paid for. I’m canceling my account and switching providers. Save yourself the frustration — choose anyone else.
