I have been a las vegas resident for 32 years, and this is the first time i have run into this problem. I have my garbage can in front of my home for three (3) weeks now, and it has not been picked up. As you can understand, after three weeks of puting garbage into it, it is a little heavy by now. But, they can use the mashine they have always used in the past to do it. It's not like it can't be done. They stop shake it a little, see that it is heavy, and leave it there. But that is not all. Pight across of my home, in front of a house, there are at least 15 garbage bags, piling up to the sky, and they won't pick up those either. It seems they pick up only the small garbage cans and bags, not over 30 lbs. I must assume, that this is another job americans won't do, even though they get paid very handsomely for it. I have complained of this problem 3 times in the last 3 weeks, by calling the republic services, and leaving an e-mail, to no avail. The garbage are still sitting out there. Maybe you can do something, but i have my doubts, since they are working for the city. Let's see!

I just paid a check to RS in Missoula, Mt for $218.19 covering 2 months. That's worse than " highway robbery" . So I cancelled their services and hope their company will go down in shame.

I am filing in small claims court against Republic Services. They placed a lien on my home for non payment but never sent a lien notice until after the lien was already placed. I am asking for the lien fees back. I filed a grievance with the utilities commission of Clark Court county. The Lien department manager Zoe and her team lead Nancy told me that it's between me and the post office if the notice came to me on time or not. They stated that they had the ability to refund the fees but weren't siding with me. I will update this site rather if I was successful or not and provide the defined route on how to sue when the law is broken on this companies' behalf.

I live in Central Texas. Republic is our refuse/recycle vendor also. I do not have a pick up or billing problem, our is an environmental problem. This past Monday when the trucks came through our development, one truck had a hydraulic leak. Instead of stopping and calling for another truck and a tow truck for the leaking truck, they decided to do the entire run through our development, laying down hydraulic oil on both sides of all our streets as the oil dripped down on the trucks tires and then large spots at every stop. We have call our local Republic office and was told they are aware of the problem and passed the message down to the appropriate personnel. Well, this was yesterday when my husband contacted Republic and the incident happened Monday. No one has been out to even look how awful our streets now look, not to mention it is hazardous waste, which means when it rains the oil will go into the storm drains and into the creeks. NOT ACCEPTABLE! Called our HOA Management company, they are going to try and reason with Republic, but I think I will just call the EPA and see if anyone has reported the incident. The photo below isn't even the worse of it the damage. But it is what I could take from the front of my house. ALL the streets in our development are like this thanks to Republic.

We have neighbors who don't care if their trash is picked up or not. 1118 Rio Grande in San Angelo, TX.
I know this is in an alley and not a pickup point but every Thursday a Republic truck drives right past it. Each week there is more trash.
It smells and looks terrible. Either give them a warning or pick up their trash. This is my neighborhood and I shouldn't have to see this every morning.

This complaint is dated 10/14/2015 - Lets see how long this takes to get resolved.
Thank you

I live in Sachse Tx and it has been over 40 days and Republic Services still has not pickup the tree trimmings. The trimmings are less than 3ft long and I neatly piled so it can easily be picked up by a human being. I called customer service and a lady said she can send someone to look at it and then charge me for picking it up. WTF! I'm already paying the city of Sachse to pickup the trash. These guys are just plain lazy. They use to pick up my tree trimmings before but all the sudden they stopped. The even picked up 200lbs of carpet when I was redoing my floors. I took the time to cut and neatly pile the trimmings together. Per the official City of Sachse website I didn't even have to do this:
Brush Items
Although it is not required, Republic Services prefers tree trimmings, branches and shrubs be cut and placed in bundles or piles that are manageable for picking up by hand and placing in the truck. If the tree or brush trimmings are too large, the claw truck will be sent to pick up the debris.

The city of Sachse TX needs to get another vendor! Horrible service!

We live in Paducah, Ky. and we cancelled service with them because they kept increasing our bill every three months. They tried to offer us a lower price to keep us as their customers but they only guaranteed the price for one year. Our neighbor said they did the same thing with him and the price went right back up to what he was paying before. We cant understand how the can play games with you on the price. They charge different customers in your same area different prices for the same service you have. It sounds very crooked to us and we switched to WastePath Trash Services. They have good service and the lowest prices in our area. Our neighbor told us they only raised their rates once in several years of service by a one dollar increase. Our neighbor uses WastePath too and never had problems with them. There definitely is something wrong with the billing if you have Republic Waste Services. Maybe some one will look into the problem some day but will never use them again!

REPUBLIC SERVICES (TRASH COMPANY) should list their billing rate per cart size, by city, by state, and all other fees such as pick-up carts upon service termination, or big dumpster rate available on its website, and notify the customers upon a yearly rate change. Rep's from the company call-center should record customers' complaints in the system, not try to covering up yours or your officemate's mistake. If there is any missed bulky-pickup or cart delivery caused by Republic Services, the company should schedule a reasonable new pick-up/delivery date within next week, not in a MONTH.

Chamber of commerce of individual city should look at the consumer affairs or complaints before signing a contract to do business for your city with such a terrible service company like Republic Services. After so many complaints around different states and cities, and REPUBLIC SERVICES is still around to sneak into different areas like no-one is aware of ITS TERRIBLE services. it's a BIG QUESTION mark to the POLITICS GAMES.

We live in Paducah, Ky. and they were charging us $64.16 every three months. The invoices kept going up every time we got our bill. We finally canceled service and got new service with Waste Path Trash Service. They have the lowest rates in our area charging only $42.00 for three months of service. They pick up just about everything you put out for no extra charge. They deserve a five star rating from us! We will never do business with Republic Services again!

NEVER SIGN A CONTRACT!

I had to do so to get service to my farm. Each 10 months they will raise the rate 15%, that means a 50% increase for the 36 months. I felt they have violated their end of the contract, but it will cost 1250.00 to get out of it to cover their 'damages'. Republic actually offered to reduce the rate to 65.00 from 210.00 if I signed another contract. The actual damage is that I have paid 145.00 too much for the last 24 months. 3480.00 they should pay me. Competition is 44.00/month no contract (why would they need it)

I have RS in Indiana. It is TERRIBLE. I call and call, and call and they do not respond. I have gone more than 3 weeks without pickup. If I don't pay my bill I get a surcharge, but if they miss 1, 2, or 3 pickups I have no recourse. I would not use this company if there were another option.

We went to renting a dumpster from RS because their crew would'nt pick up trash cans, but now we have a problem with the commercial crew dumping the dumpster. We have to have the dumpster within our fence other than on dump days, per Clark County code enforcement, yet even when we take the dumpster to the curb it is either not picked up or it's picked up and our dumpster is driven down the block and dropped. We have called over and over again, all to hear the same thing, "we are sorry about that, we will get a truck there within the next couple of days and we'll notify the field supervisor." I am tired of it. I sent an email complaint today because they are closed on Saturday, and it was not friendly whatsoever, not that it will change anything. The monopoly RS has on us allows them to take advantage of consumers, lien our homes if we do not pay, and figuratively give us the finger as they laugh all the way to the bank. So sick of this "good ole boys club"!

Welcome to the Queen of Cans!

As a concerned mother and grandmother I decided to initiate my company to truly make a difference in our community. My goal is to make sure you and your loved ones are safe from harmful bacteria and germs that can grow from decomposing trash left over in your trash cans and recycling bins. Salmonella, E. Coli, Bacillus SP and listeria are just some of the most common bacteria’s found in trash cans and these could be growing just a couple of feet away from you, your family and pets.

We offer affordable rates and we hope to provide you with outstanding customer service. To learn more about our services or to place your trashcan cleaning service, please feel free to contact us and we will be glad to assist you.

I won't say that you all are wrong but I will say until you have done the job, don't make assumptions on the work performed. There are rules and guidlines in garbage just like any other line of work. Container weight and types of waste that are acceptable changes constantly as safety guidelines, EPA regulations and municipal contracts change or evolve. My suggestion is simple, instead of sneering and cwhining about the pile left behind, when the collector comes up the street, go and greet them and ask them in a mannerly way, "what is wrong with this waste that results in it not being collected?". My guess is they will explain it and you will have a better understanding directly from the source. Good Luck!

Usually Republic Services does their job well but sometimes they are complete jerks. They refused to pick up my trash for about 3 weeks at one point too! I think if you put out something too heavy they get all whiny like little girls. If it is too heavy don't take it! Now I got some loser in a Republic Services truck driving by honking the horn. I guess it depends on who you get.

I feel very betrayed by Republic Services. We HAVE to pay our bill or they will put a lien on your home. I have no problem with paying people I owe for work performed. However since they cannot seem to do their job and they have monopolized the valley I feel we need to take action. First they should not have the valley exclusivly, I feel like they should be put out to bid. Second I feel that we should have a choice if we want to pay for their service. If we don't use water we don't pay, if we don't use ges we don't pay. If we don't need their serviece we don't pay. I pick up the trash and recyclables out of the street twice a week anyway. We put it in the trash can and they dump it in the street and leave it. They wouldn't get away with that in Anthem or Lake Las Vegas or any other higher end area, why do they feel they can do it in some places. BTW I don't live a a old run down nieghborhood either. Not that it matters. They get paid to do a job and we get liened even if they don't want to do their job and we choose not to pay tem. I believe we should have a choice of whether we need their service or not.. I for one do NOT! I want to start a class action law suit, and call them out on the buisness. Calling them doesn't help. We need to hold them responsible for their actions or there lack of. Today they picked up about 4 out of 5 homes and left the rest. What a mess. I'm sick of it.

Well, I just ran into that problem today. These guys have picked up some heavy and extreme materials from me in the past. For instance they have picked up a complete sink, 18' inflattable pool, Rolls of carpet, and a wheel barrel, but now I have about 10 bags of stirofom and old sheets and the leave it behind... Figures every one gets lazy 2 days prior to Christmas... I really don't care that is a holiday, because we pay for a serivce and weather or not the services is provided we deserve to have consistance, do we not? I am sick and tired of the way the city has treated it's residents and I feel there has got to have something done... This is rediculous!
