Not a “green” trash service at all!!!
We have heavy trash pick up one day a month. A couple of days before my heavy trash pick up a severe storm came in that split one of our trees and 2/3 of it came down. To clean up the yard as best as we could a chipper was used to reduce the tree debris and it was placed in large black yard trash bags. These bags held quite a bit of confetti size tree clippings, and weighed greater than 40 pounds each. Being a nice person, I placed those heavy trash bags inside my trash container that the garbage truck picks up using the mechanical arm. I did not want to have their employee have to lift three of those heavy bags which would’ve been 150 to 200 pounds combined into the truck. Needless to say those bags filled up my required Republic’s trashcan. I called Republic services and ask about setting out a separate can just to throw a few of our regular trash bags inside the garbage can to be hand loaded into the dumpster of the truck. The customer service employee stated that that was fine because they pick up sofas, chairs, washers, dryers, etc. so lifting a trash can with no loading bar up and dumping two 15 gallon kitchen trash bags would be easy, right? Well guess wha? Their pickup guy refused to pick up the trashcan and dump it into the trash dumpster of the truck. Instead the worker took the whole trashcan, lifted it up with the mechanical arms and threw it all in, can and all! This was a brand new trashcan that has been used only in our house and was very clean. It was not something you would look at and say yeah that’s trash, so when I saw the truck driving away with my trashcan in the dumpster. I had to run down the trash truck driver to make him stop the truck to give me back my can. I asked him what the heck he was doing and why he would throw away a perfectly good brand new looking trashcan. He told me he’s not allowed to pick up trash cans and that if I wanted those trash bags picked up I had to set them individually on the ground next to my normal trash container. I brought to his attention that those were the kitchen bags and some of them had old food in it, which we all know what happens to trash bags sitting out on the pavement with food in it - rodents, dogs you name it. It would’ve been ripped open overnight. He explained to me that that was the rule and there was nothing he could do about it and drove off. So I called Republic and got a hold of a supervisor named Dwayne, who by the way said he’d call me back and he never did! Dwayne - total looser by the way, told me that they expect us to put trash bags on the ground and he said if they had food in it, they should’ve been inside my regular container and the yard waste should have been on the ground. But just imagine what would’ve happened if the guy tried to pick up a plastic bag with about 40+ pounds of chipped yard waste trying to lift that heavy weight up and over to throw it up into the truck dumpster. It would have probably ripped the bag and you know what would’ve been all over the road - a ton of chipped, wood and leaf debris, which I’m sure he would gladly drive off and leave the mess in my street. I told Dwayne that we put the trash bags with yard waste in the can because of the weight and was trying to be nice so that your employee didn’t have to pick those heavy bags up, but he explained to me that those should’ve been on the street on the curb for the guy to pick up. I told him if he would’ve ripped the bags that it t would’ve been their responsibility to clean up the mess. He told me no it would be my responsibility. It’s not their responsibility to clean up the mess from a ripped, heavy duty, trash bag that they ripped by their employee trying to pick it up.
I have been a Recycle Customer for years now I explained to Dwayne how can Republic be a “green company” that promotes recycling when they’re instructing people to put bags of trash out on the street to be ripped open by rodents or to blow when their employees tips the bags trying to lift them up and place in the dumpster of the truck. I live in a neighborhood with an HOA if a mess like that had been created by their stupid customer instructions it’s not my responsibility to clean that up because common sense tells you to put the bags in a receptacle so that rodents or accidental breakage of a bag is protected from spilling out all over the street. If a spillage like that had happened and the trash truck would just jolly leave and continue on its way there’s a high probability I would get fined by my HOA. I told them that I would hold them responsible to pay that damage fine from my HOA which Dwayne responded with “no we wouldn’t pay it” and I said yeah I’d see you in court because I would hold them responsible for their lack of prudence in picking up our trash. I then went on to tell him to cancel my recycle because I was no longer going to pay them money to in “good faith” be a green company because they have proven to me now that they’re not green. If they were green, they would show a concern on how to handle our trash bags in a manner that would not promote the littering of our trash in our sacks to spread over the streets. And you know you see trash every day flying around after the truck comes through cause just the truck alone blows, trash out - imagine what it’d be like with a full bag exploding on the street and the wind carrying it away - yeah not a pretty site!
So if I could give this company a negative star I would because Republic services you totally suck. You are not a green company and your policies you have for picking up trash bags is asinine. I will no longer recycle and I picked up an extra can with a lift bar that I’m placing at the end of my street for you to dump as trash now on big trash pick up day. And just so you know I have a recording of the conversation in case you’re questioning it, I called your office and asked if I could get a second trash can that has the bar for the machine to pick up my trash and I was told yes it would be able to be used so on my extra trash pick up day my trash will be protected. It will be in a can, and you will pick it up. And my can will contsin recycle items that will be treated as trash now. If I have time I may drop it off at a recycle site but a lot of it’s gonna go now in a trash dump somewhere because I’m not gonna send it to a company who probably isn’t even handling the recycle the way they should. How do we even know you’re not just taking our money and just picking up extra trash in recycle cans and throwing it in the dump sites anyway Kind of think that might be what’s going on!
Get a clue Rebublic because your company SUCKS!
Recommendation: If your worker can get out of the truck to grab a sofa, he can dump a trashcan!!!
By far one of the worst companies you will ever deal with.
This company operates a deeply deceptive and legally dubious business model. When you initially sign up for their service, there is a set term and an agreed price for the service. However, Republic deceptively evades the spirit of the contract by tacking on bogus "fuel recovery charges", even when fuel prices are not any higher than previously. Its just a scam to raise prices without "technically" violating the agreement. On top of this, the company will claim the right to renew your contract and change the rates on your contract without giving any notice that the contract was being renewed and your rates increased. When you try to cancel their service, they then claim that you have some ridiculous amount of time left on a contract you never agreed to at a price 2-3 times what you had originally agreed to pay them. They refuse to pick up their equipment and demand that you continue to pay. There are not many companies I would say this about, but Republic is a truly diabolical company and I cannot believe their practices are even legal.
Recommendation: AVOID THIS SCAM COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!!

The issues pertaining to TRASH have been ridiculous for me beginning when my parish decided to use Republic services of trash pickup. A representative from the company called me regarding my first complaint of not having trash picked up at all, to tell me they would bring one of their trash cans to my residence. That was months ago. This morning, I awoke to have trash sitting on my yard for me to pick up.

I have been a Republic Services customer since 2001. I have had several accounts with them in support for as many as four residences in Las Vegas. I currently own two residences in Las Vegas (no mortgages) and two automobiles (no loans or leases). My FICO score has been as high as 830.
In just received a debt collection letter from Coast to Coast Financial Solutions wanting to collect a past due bill of $54.72 from Republic Services.
In April I received a late bill pay notice from Republic Services for one of my properties. This was strange since both of my properties are on autopay with Republic Services. I called their billing department and spoke to a representative to correct the autopay service. He indicated that the autopay service was corrected and agreed to waive the later fee.
Yesterday, May 13, I received a debt collection notice for $54.72. I went to the Republic Services website and noticed that only one of my accounts have active autopay services. I was able to active the autopay service for the so-called delinquent account and called Republic Services.
They did acknowledge that I had contacted them in April about the account in question and acknowledged that the customer representative waived the late fee. However, they said that they had no knowledge of the customer service representative fixing the autopay service. Why would I contact Republic Services to waive the late fee if I was not going to pay the bill. Republic Services did not fix the autopay service and they dispute the fact that I spoke to them about it. Why did they have to turn the delinquent bill of $54.72 to a collection agency and ruin my excellent credit. Why must I pay a $25 service fee for their mistake.

This is absolutely outrageous! A loyal customer since 2001, and they treat you like this? Republic Services really dropped the ball. Your excellent credit shouldn't be tarnished because of their mistake.
Here's what you need to do: get on the phone and demand to speak to a higher-up. Explain your long history with the company, your spotless credit, and how their failure to fix the autopay has caused this mess. Insist they contact the collection agency to remove the mark from your credit report immediately and waive any fees.

Trash pickup
I live on the 145th block of Spaulding Avenue in Harvey Illinois. Twice out of the last three weeks our trash has not been picked up. I’ve called several times to inform the office about this problem and they keep apologizing and telling me the trash will be picked up the next day. They never show up and the trash sits for another week. The refuse bill is added to the monthly water bill, so they can’t say they’re not getting paid and I’m fed up. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and inform the mayor’s office of this frustrating situation.

Replace bins

Dear Sirs / Madam,
Last January 15, 2024, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Day, I put in a request with Republic Services, to have my three (3) bins replaced. My next door neighbor, who recently had her bins replaced, suggested that since my bins were cracked, and worn out, I request to have mine replaced as well.
I was informed, that the earliest date all three (3) bins would be replaced, was February 20, 2024.
As of today, March 9, 2024, FIFTY FOUR (54) days from the day I put in my request, the task remains NOT completed.
I have called numerous times to follow up, and I was told, to keep the bins on the sidewalk, because Republic Services would be replacing them soon.
Last Tuesday, March 5, 2024, one (1) of my bins was replaced. Republic b Services then replaced my next door neighbor’s new bin, with “newer” bins. Both my next door neighbor and I were flabbergasted.
I immediately called Republic Services to inform them that my next door neighbor’s new bins were replaced with “newer” bins, and that she had not called Republic Services to have them replaced, since her bins are new. I was told my two (2) bins would be replaced by Friday, March 8, 2024.
Yesterday, Friday, March 8, 2024, only one (1) bin was replaced.
I have never seen such incompetence. For a company that has a huge contract with the City of Fullerton, and other cities, I expected a well run, very efficient machinery.
Please help address my concern.

I called this company back in October 2023 and told the person on the phone that I would be paying my bill into 2 payments because I have been struggling with my finances due to medical issues. I told her that I will be treated for cancer and she happily took my payment over the phone but told that service interruption was still in place until I pay the remaing $30 balance. I said ok. Then I get a bill of again next week with extra charge of 20 dollars which I felt hurt because this lady did not tell about an extra charge (by this time no garbage was being picked up in November 2023 and I was in cancer treatment and had surgery and in SF being taken cared of by family) I paid the remaining balance plus 20 dollars extra charge. Then I received another bill for 135 for supposedly services for the next month but no garbage was picked up and mind you they sent me an email back in November that the stopped my services and account. I sent several emails to inform them but all they insisted was to pay the bill that I never had any services.

Waste/garbage being picked up.
We have a 2 Yd. dumpster at out house, with a contract that states pickup every other week for $125 per month. They periodically miss pickups but are to return within 48 hours for the missed pickup. This time, our normal pickup date was 1/25. it's been a week to the day that they have missed our regular pickup. I have called them three times, 1/29, 1/30 and 1/31 requesting they come to pickup our missed pickup day. Each time I am told they will be there the next day, I also get a text of the same. They have never shown up, even though they say they will! Our dumpster is full, it is actually overflowing. It is a terrible sight to the neighborhood, it smells and this is totally unexceptable. Trash pickup at Tucson Meadows Tucson, AZ
On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving last year (23') our usual truck driver Leon was working with a new man working the backend, not Victor. Republic had a "new man first day out..." later would tell me. Every week we put out one of Republics' trash cans. And sometimes we also put out a Rubber Maid blue tub filled with tree limbs & cuttings. Both Leon & Victor have emptied this tub before over the last 6 years. Victor would dump the contents of our tub and place the tub on the curb by our emptied trash can. Your man that Wednesday picked up the tub (size 4'x2' in almost perfect condition) and through the whole tub in the truck. I'm looking at him throwing the whole tub into the backend. I immediately ran out and yelled for this man to stop "IN ENGLISH." Instead, as I'm running toward him yelling stop, he smiles at me & pushes the lever down comes the shovel. When Leon saw what happen he lifted the shovel, but we could see my tub was now split, crushed no longer a tub. Leon said "they (Republic) would replace it." Leon said he would put in for a "replacement." After 5 weeks Republic dropped off a beat-up, dirty trash can with holes et al this can is unacceptable. I want a tub the same size as what you/Republic through away. If you will not give us a new "tub" you may give us a new smaller gallon Republic trash can. Missed trash pick-up again in two months
I am very confused why my route keeps getting looked over and is not me it is my neighbors as well. I trash day is on Thursday's, and since most of us are old and our houses set on a very high hill, I trash route in in the back of our house, and that route is an alley. In October 2023 the trash set in the alley for a week and half before it was picked up. Last month I called and called. I spoke to various representatives and two senior representative. Once Senior lied to me about elating the matter to a higher up and he didn't even document the account. By the time I reached the second senior she did her job by getting in touch with the main office and she kept me in the loop. My trash finally got picked up. I thought it was over until the day after Thanksgiving 11/24/23. My trash as well as my neighbors have not been picked up and today is 11/28/23. Called Republic yesterday 11/24/23 spoke with the Senior representative that I talked to in October (luck), and she assured be that the trash would be picked up and don't know why it was not. Trashed still not picked up today is Tuesday 11/28/23. I called again talked to another Senior representative and she is working on it and said would call me when the driver was on the way. I wish there was another trash service I would dismiss them.
Dropping trash on the intersection
Im a District Manager for FedEx and observed a Republic trash truck pull up to an intersection waiting to make a turn. A tv box with packing material fell down from on top of it in front of the windshield and down onto the ground just in front of the truck. There was plenty of time for the driver to get out and grab it. However they chose to wait on the light to turn green and drive over the box and packaging material cascading it all over the intersection, only to driver directly across the road to a Circle K to pick up their dumpster.
Absolutely unprofessional and uncaring.
Desired outcome: Driver should've retrieved the box and not drive over it causing a huge mess in the intersection.
Not reciving trash pick
To whom it may concern,
We have contract for picking up our trashes towice a week for 3 eight yards dumpsters " for 50 businesses", but we have a lot of missed pick and we have big problems with our tenants to dump their trashes.
We requested to cancel our contract and find different waste company to take care our business, but Becky Rodriguez, who is the sale manager threatened us with cancellation fee for the service that we are not receiving. Trashes are all over my property and we are getting complaints every single day.
They don't heave us any choice, but to file lawsuits against Republic services and try to cancel the existing contract.
Befor opening the file, we decided to contact with customer service maybe we can resolve this problem without involving justice in peace.

Trash truck leaking oil all o0ver the street
I observed many fairly large oil splotches and trials on the pavement on my block 6070 Castle Gardens Ave Las Vegas NV 89130 near where each garbage can was placed. Some of this oil will eventually find its way into the storm sewers and into our driveways if it was all in one place, might be considered as a very large oil spill on a street. The Driver knows they are losing alot of oil from their trucks cause I spoken to them. all they stated its there were told by there supervisor to go and do the route and if I wanted to complaint I needed to contact the office As a taxpayer, I do not have much influence with the company so can I assume it is the responsibility of the city to file a complaint with the company regarding the oil pollution of our streets? I've been calling every week in reference to the same issue numerous weeks it's so sad no one here at Republic Services cares about the oil that leaks from their trucks all over our streets Please see attachments of the spills

Maple grove city garbage collection billing issues - republic services
Prior to take over by Republic Services, Randy's Sanitation was my garbage collector in January 2022. Since I had set up automatic payments through my bank, an overpayment was made to Randy's Sanitation on 4/14/22. After numerous attempts, I have not been refunded the overpayment and Republic services has not taken responsibility to this error and not corrected it.

Trash pick ups
We are so frustrated at this point because the Republic services every other lake week or at least couple times in a month they don’t pick up our trash even though we pay on time every single time we have been making our payments but still they just simply don’t pick up our trash. Yesterday, which was Wednesday, August 23, 2023, they didn’t pick up trash. It was their pick up day, now we’re trash is just sitting there and it’s Thursday today, and the trashcan is just sitting out there smelling disgusting because it’s all trash, but the Republic services aren’t here to pick it up on its end of the day of Thursday, so technically, they will hopefully will come Friday to pick up our trash, even though there was nothing no obstacle setting besides the trash to stop them from picking up our trash. The republic services always do this to us. This is ridiculous. We are so done with their nonsense service, we will definitely be cutting off our services. I’m looking somewhere else because this is just nonsense
Not picking up trash..
Trash pick up said my car is in the way.. It is not, I have pics.. First they yelled at me saying my car is in the way.. There is wide open space... No longer will the trash guys get snack on christmas, like I have been doing more than 6 years... No more christmas gifts after yelling at me for no reason.. My trash is not being picked up.. No car is in theit way... Plus, do they normally yell at customers, a new practice for these new trash guys... Thet are not the same crew I had 3 years ago..
Clearly my car is not blocking trash.. THEY ALSO didn't pick up my neighbors trash 2 doors down.. they did not pick up this trash, after yelling at me last week... MY CAR IS IN THE WAY..?
Trash truck speeding in neighborhood
I have called twice to speak to my local Republic Services for help with this issue, but they never have a manager return my call. The trash truck that goes through Garwood Estates, Bear, De constantly speeds…at least 40 mph. I tried to stop the driver the other day because there were 5 kids riding their bikes at the same time the trash truck was speeding down the street.
Desired outcome: I want the trucks to go slower and be more observant of children playing outside.
Trash and recycle services missed weekly for months with no resolution
For over 8 month, trash service is missed weekly. We get a call informing us that the service will be delayed 1 day. This is a lie. Often they do not come. We call all week and nothing happens. We have many cans of rotted trash on a very small cul-de-sac. Usually 10 -30 cans. I have contacted everyone from the waste management co supervisory rout staff, as well as the City of Benicia. I have been told that this is unacceptable from the City but we have yet to have a resolution. I am told Waste management (Republic Services Pacheco) is in breach of their contract with the City. However, Nothing is being done by the City despite our efforts. There should be some sort of way to enforce this don't you think?
As the summer heats up, we should not be forced to deal with this every single week. Hot rotted trash in front of our homes for days.
We need help.
If we can get media attention to this matter, we might get action. I do not know what steps I can take to ensure that the service we pay for, (without compensation or bill deductions).

Today is Tuesday and Services were missed as always and like always, called in by all neighbors and still ignored.
Late services were ignored today as well. Likely to not come this week at all. Please send someone to look. The street is full of cans weekly that make it very difficult to not hit them or maneuver around daily.
This is a damn nightmare!
We love our City but do not love the service that we PAY for.

At the end of each phone call I was assured a truck would be sent out on the dates indicated above to pick up the trash left out there, but that has not been the case.
I am writing to the BBB to inform consumers and not my county and state, that this company does not provide the service for which it is being paid. I want the trash removed from the premises of my residence immediately and the quarterly charges credited back to me on my billing statement, since this company has failed to provide the service I’ve paid for but also they have wasted my time, energy and labor constantly having to call and follow up on this matter.
Also, this is very problematic just because trash that isn’t disposed of properly attracts insects and rodents and is just unsanitary and a health risk.
) I want the dumpster pick up and out of my driveway. I am tired of requesting this! Don't you want your dumpster back?
Republic Services (dumpster) I scheduled a pick up for the dumpster on August
3. 2023 (Thursday) They never showed up. I called on Friday and they advised, they would be there before 7pm. I asked to speak to a supervisor to confirm since they didn't come on Thursday and they advised me, they do not take calls? I would have to leave a message and someone would get back to me in 48 hours - really... I having my driveway worked on and now they can not start till the following week. They caused the delay of work on my driveway. If your company was not able to pick up the dumpster, a phone call or email would have been nice. That is called good customer service which you company lacks!
Trash removal service
Our business has used Republic Services for about a year and a half, with a weekly pick up scheduled for Tuesdays. Things were going fine until about 10 days ago when we were having the sidewalk and driveway apron replaced. We contacted Republic Services and told them about our concrete work and advised them to used side gate to enter the property to empty the dumpster. The customer service representative said my account would be noted and the driver would be informed to use the alternate gate until the concrete work was completed. Tuesday arrived and left and Republic did not pick up the trash. I called Republic customer service again and confirmed that my account had been noted that the driver should use the alternate gate on the side, as requested and, after an apology, I was told that they would come the following day to pick up the trash. They did not come the following day and this charade - telling me they would be here either later that same day or the following day - continued from July 18th through July 29th. Every single day they claimed they would be here to pick up the trash and they did not. One day (I think it was July 25th or 26th) they did stop in front of the building, according to one of the concrete workers, but instead of turning onto Hansberry St to access the alternate gate they simply left and then had the audacity to report to the home office that they had completed service i.e. picked up our trash! We are now looking for someone to take loads of our trash to a local trash facility before we have a rodent infestation.
Desired outcome: We are not paying for services beyond July 11, 2023 which was the last time Republic Services picked up our trash. Please prorate our last invoice to reimburse us for failure to provide weekly pick up services on July 18 and July 25, 2023.
Charge to pick up can
I had to cancel my service due to missed trash pick ups and when i called i was advised they were short drivers. I then cancelled my service and she advised i was paid up so would not be any charges and never mentioned charging to pick up can only that they would pick up. I never got a credit for the missed pick ups and i sure am not paying for them to pick up can $88.50.
Desired outcome: Credit for the $88.50.
Yard waste pickup
There has been no yard waste pickup in our subdivision for more than three weeks. My neighbors and I have made multiple calls to customer service, in some cases (including my own) escalating the complaint through several layers of management trying to obtain satisfaction. My neighbors and I have received promises that someone was owning the problem and would be following up by telephone soon but no follow-up calls have been received and the yard waste is piling up around the neighborhood. Many of us are considering legal action at this point.
