I have had a membership with Planet Fitness for 6 plus years. I have always paid my dues through the app. All of a sudden, they are telling me after paying through the app for 6 years it is NOT the proper way to pay and then charged me a late fee.
UNACCEPTABLE after being a member for so long. I've literally been there when they have waived fees for others. But the others were Hispanic. I feel like they are treating me different because I am black and will not give me the benefit of the doubt that I didn't know it had to be paid a certain way and not in the app.
If this was such a big issue, they should've pulled me aside and let me know. Instead, I had to come to them. I have watched them treat others with the utmost respect but for some reason I don't get that and the manager even got upset and hung the phone up in my face.
Desired outcome: Reinstate my membership and waive that late fee that shouldn't have applied anyway. Treat ALL people with the same respect and understanding and not just the ones who have the same ethnic background as management.
