Planet Fitness review: Annual fee

I went to the PF and asked if they did Silver Sneakers. They said no but I could join for only $10 per month with no commitment. Then they charged my account $39.95 that they neglected to tell me about. When I called, I was told it was for maintenance fees and it was on page 2 of my contract. I said that I wasn't told about it. Then they asked who enrolled me. I said that I didn't know. When they looked it up, I was told that they didn't know either. I'm a senior citizen living on social security. I wasn't expecting an extra $40 and don't have enough to pay my bills.
