I have taken my Weimaraner to the PetSmart hotel a number of times over the past 12 months.
They were super friendly, however twice now I recieved a bill I had not expected reflecting charges that I was never informed of. The last of which I was not allowed to recieve my dog until the bill was paid. The bill was $294.00 I am also contacting Petsmart corporate regarding this matter.

The next step will be to contact the BBB

No one refused to give you your dog. Even if someone cannot pay their dog is given back to them and they sign a promissory note which gives them 30 days to pay. Your complaint was over 18.00 bucks. You did not call the day you were set to check out until your dog had spent the day in camp (Camp is offered as a substitute for the extended boarding fee both are 18 dollars) so you were charged for it, if you had called earlier in the day it would have been removed and moved to the next day (which you were very aware of as you asked for it to be moved to the next day). You did this more times than I can count and always complained about the fee as if you weren't told about it before. The manger instead of turning you away allowed you to keep coming until the last time when he finally got fed up with it and told you that this time you would have to pay instead of getting a free day of camp yet again. What he should have done was given you he 18 dollars and told you to never come back again as you were never satisfied with paying what you owed instead of standing his ground and holding out. Your bills were always 200+ and 18 bucks couldn't have possibly made much difference if you could afford to put out that kind of money as often as you did.

It is a dog! Not a kid! If our dog get's walked twice a day that is fine with me! He seemed perfectly happy when we picked him up, and was in good spirits and health! He is walked at home once a day at home! We play with him, and give him attention. Though I love my animals, when we go away, our cats stay at home, and someone changes their litter, and the dog goes to a kennel! He loves other dogs, and he is a small dog, so the kennel was pretty big for him. We currently corral him in the kitchen, because he is a puppy, and unlike some of my relatives with puppies, I don't want to spend thousand of dollars when my hyper puppy get's into something he shouldn't.

I love my dog, but I am not spending that much money on him for a weekend get away! When he is older, and doesn't put a new name to the word non stop, he can stay with my parents and my kids! Problem solved.

My first priority on my money is my children, not having my dog stay in first class accommodations so when my husband and I go away!

All I have to say is you get what you pay for...I for 1 will not board my dog at a vet's office. Most of them have small kennels that they stay in, my dogs stay in my own home and I pay $45 per day...to each their own though on what they do with their pets while they are away (as long as they are cared for). As for any kennel, how does anyone REALLY know their dog is walked so many times a day? Sure, they tell you what you want to hear. Just like my dad use to board his dog and he would pay for doggie ice cream for his dog, I always told him, how do you know they gave it to him...you just never know. Atleast at home you can put up a nanny cam if you feel you need to.

Pet sitter that comes into your home or use a actual kennel, not a petstore boarding facility.

I found a local vet office that charges much less. The dog was walked four times a day, given attention for sixty four dollars for four days... Shop around a little more. That is ridicules! What did they do bathe the dog in gold? We didn't spend that much on our hotel bill... Shop around, and find somewhere more reasonable. That is highway robbery, especially in this economy..
