Pet Food Center review: Animal neglect 57

Tomorrowsdream6 was obviously upset by what occurred at the pet store, and the lack of compassion, and the lack of care that the animals were receiving. She obviously loves rats, hamsters, and those types of animals. Let say, that there was a nursing cat in a pet store with her kittens. One of the kittens was ill, and another was obviously dead. Or lets say that a mom dog was nursing her pups and one puppy was obviously dead and one was ill. Most people would be outraged if the employees or a manager acted in these incidents the way she described. Let say, you went to your local pet store looking for a kitten. You noticed that one of the kittens was dead, and an employee acted like it was no big deal, and went about his day. Or, you decided to try and help the ill kitten, and asked the employees what type of formula you should use for the kitten, of if their were vitamins that could be given to boost that kitten's immune system, and nobody could answer your questions. It is a pet store, and the employees should have some knowledge to answer these types of questions. It doesn't matter what type of animal it is, because someone in the public will have a love for that type of pet. It is poor business, unethical, and cruel to the animals in their care. It speaks volumes about the owner of this establishment, and were his values is, which would be just making money. Which is sad.

Steal ### only purpose is to upset and belittle this women and her experience. That is wrong, and cruel. Which speaks about the person she is.

You know, my seventeen year old son spends a lot of time playing video games. He especially likes zombie video games, he has told me, that if there was a zombie breakout, he would be able to survive because of his zombie killing skills. (I give him some credit, he did well at shooting in the Boy Scouts, and even got some ribbons for it.) In the 'real" world, he doesn't have access to a gun because, I am not stupid enough to have one in my house. So, if there truly was a breakout, he would die along with the rest of us. Maybe, you are one of those incredibly sad people that spends their lives playing online video games, and so you "think" because you play flight simulations that makes you a pilot. My kids love those kind of games too... My ten year old is a kick ### pilot on War War 2 games... It is really sad because your an adult, and still live in fantasy land. Maybe you should come to CA and work for Disneyland or Florida and work for Disney World?! You can even find an amusement park that has kitty airplanes and control them! My brother was in the Air Force, and I have family and friends that are in the military. There is no way on this earth, that you are a pilot!

Your disrespectful to everyone's beliefs, have no sympathy for anyone with a different opinion than yours. Maybe to you, a rodent not being taken care of in a pet store is no big deal. But it was heartbreaking to the women who posted it. Just because you have a heart of stone, doesn't mean everyone does. It is a sad day for America if you are actually a pilot, because than our military must be desperate. If you truly were currently in the military, than you wouldn't have the time to troll on websites like this one. I mean look how many post you have! My brother, while in active duty, never had the time you seem to have. He worked twelve hour shifts, and had a family to take care of. Maybe your a crop duster, or something like that, but I am positive that your not active military! If you are, I seriously hope you get deployed.. Make better use of your obvious unlimited time of belittling people and make fun of people. Obviously your not married, nor have children of your own, or faced hard times, while support said family.

I hope all the negativity and hatred that you spew out, chokes you, and surrounds your life. It is obvious you have no man, because, look at how you spend your time! Your a total looser!

Stealth, I really just want to ignore your posts but since you like the attention I'll indulge you. You are an ignorant [censored], if I may be so bold as to borrow some of your choice phrases (though I prefer "ignorant [censored]" over your "ignorant smartass" ). If you dedicated half the time you dedicated to this website to something worthwhile your existence on the planet earth might be justifiable. Also, you need to brush up on your legalese. Slander is for the spoken word. Libel is for the written word, so if the pet store had a case (which they don't) that is what they would claim. I wouldn't point this out to a layperson, but you put yourself forth as expert on just about everything so I thought it would be amusing to point out further evidence of your online persona being a laughable sham. Take it down a notch. Do you realize that to everyone on this board you are just comic relief? If you truly are trying to make valid arguments, you have to be more self aware of how absurd you come off.

I completely agree with this complaint, I believe that the pet food center is at fault. I hope your complaint is taken seriously and not thrown to the wind because of some peoples disbelief. You should also be very proud of yourself for trying to help in any way possible.

Sorry, but spending your life squirreled away in basement and playing Flight Simulator on your computer (i.e. the thing you jack off too after a long day of trolling websites) doesn't qualify.Clearly you like the attention, so you are probably getting a hard on as you read this. You've overplayed your hand and revealed yourself as the worst kind of person. A fraud than can't stand to live in their own skin. You've made 2200 comments on this site and I only had to read a couple to realize you are a certifiable nutjob. Honestly, where would you be without the internet? Here you can pretend to be anything you want and no one is the wiser. However, your mental instability/illness is pushing that to its limits. I don't want to be overly harsh, as I sincerely think you have a Axis 2 personality disorder that should be treated. Nevertheless, if I can persuade you to do anything, it's to stop engaging in this agitated, antisocial behavior and find a positive outlet for this pent up mania.

I happen to have taken animal care classes, worked in a reputable pet store for several years, volunteered at a local animal shelter, and worked at one for a while. I am aware of the laws regarding animals in CA, and proper care of animals. I have taken care of a variety of animals from dogs, cats, to emus, horses, cows, pigs, ect professionally. So I do know what I am talking about. There is no excuse for not proper caring for animals. Pet stores are different than working retail, which I have also done, and hated. I wont tell you how to fly planes, don't act like you know what the proper care of animals is!

You tried your best to save the hamster, better then most people that dont care. Its the manager that is at fault. Not you. The stealth person might be a manager of a pet store in the way he writes.

Pilot is OBVIOUSLY a ###. And seems to enjoy spending his time harassing people he's never met online.

Regardless, I've visited Owensboro several times even though I do not live there. I've never been to the PFC, but those photos do not lie. That poor hamster looked terrible and was obviously neglected. The assistant manager obviously didn't care about the hamsters and was only concerned about protecting him/herself. This story is disgusting and the company should be held liable. There is NO EXCUSE for a dead hamster lying in the cage with the others living around it. An employee of PFC should have been paying close enough attention to the hamsters to be aware that one died & should have attended to removing it IMMEDIATELY.

I was in the Army for 10years, E-6. I hate it when someone from the outside comes in and tells people what the truth is and what not the truth is. You are not here to see what is going on in that store. It is a shame that people from other states can criticize how something or some is across the country. You’re not hear so have a nice day.

Stealth Pilot I really hope you do not believe what you are saying? You have a name like you are a true pilot of the Air Force and if you are you know what is going on is wrong. Remember defend those how cannot defend themselves.

I have gone into PFC to buy an animal from them on a few occasions. What turned me away was the fact that there were several dead animals in the cages; dead Hamsters, dead mice, sick rabbits and even dead fish. I have personally seen this display of downright out neglect on the part of the store employees.
The day in question from tommorrowsdream6 I know about. I was there; one employee was sitting there talking to what might have been her boyfriend and ignoring the customers. Until at least the customer was ready to pay and even then she only paid half attention to what the customer had.
The store assistant manager ignored several complaints about the animals and the other store employee. The big question is the way the animals are being treated, if the ASPCA was here in Owensboro the Pet Food Center would be closed down in a heartbeat. I have tried to file a complaint with the so called general manager named Mike # [protected] ext. 124. He would not even return my phone call. From what I have heard he was condoning the actions of the employees and the way they treat animals. He told Mrs. Tommorrwsdream6 that they must have been a couple of weeks old. He stated that the store took them to early form their mother, this tells me that this store doesn’t care about their animals’ only making money. I was under the belief that a store wants to make money not lose money.
I will taking all my business elsewhere like a place that takes care of their animals and their customers. Like either E&L pets or Petsmart. This is where I would suggest everyone go to. Pet Food Center doesn’t care enough for their animals why should I care enough to give them my business. Individuals who do not care about animals should be treated the same way.

I think that is wonderful that you took the hamster home and tried to save it. I am also sorry for the experience you had with the sales associates. I to would be appalled by the conditions of the animals in the store's care, the employees lack of compassion, and ignorance of animal care. Unfortunately, there are pet stores that only interest is making a profit. To promote profit, they don't provide employees with proper training, don't properly care for animals in their care. It is obvious that you are a compassionate women, that has a deep love for animals. Love the animals you have, and realize how lucky your pets are to have you as an owner. I am also an animal lover, and own several pets. If I had experienced what you did, I would also be applauded and deeply stressed by everything you experienced there.

It amazes me of your lack of compassion, and assumptions that she is exaggerated, or ignorant about what she experienced. A pet store, should properly care for the animals they sell. If animals are ill, than they should be removed from customer sight, and given proper medical care they need. Not left for the public to view, and become upset by it. There are many reputable pet store that do care for sick animals, and take in animals left on their door step, and are knowledgeable about animal care, and sell high quality pet toys, food, and animals. There are just as many pet stores that only care about making a profit, and buy puppies from dog mills, which usually have a variety of health problems, some even fatal. There are several pet shops that send animals that aren't selling to the local animal shelter. I have first hand experience of that! I am very aware of what happens at a animal shelters and puppy mills and uncaring pet shops! It is you, that assumes that all pet stores properly care for their animals. Do you have any idea on a yearly basis, in any state how many pet stores are fined, closed down, for not providing needed medical care for their animals, or not properly caring for the animals in their care?! I doubt it... Maybe it is you that should take the time to watch what you say, and make sure you knowledgeable before you talk out of your ###. Look up the law on what the responsibilities of any business selling animals are! This shop is in violation of laws in California! Your a complete idiot!~ Unfreeze your heart, and learn compassion!

A business is reflective by the product it presents and sells. Quite simply, what this woman saw at the Pet Food Center was negligence on part of the store. If I walk into Pizza Hut, walk past a table to be seated and spot a waitress putting silverware she dropped on the floor, back on a table because she thought nobody was looking, would I want to eat there? NO! It's poor business practice in the customers eye. Just like when this woman found the dying hamster in the cage, she automatically knew that either (1) nobody had been checking cages every few hours like they should have, or (2) an employee saw the sick animal, shrugged his or her shoulders and moved on even though they could have taken measures to tend to the animal if it was rejected from the litter. The point is, the hamster was neglected somehow, and it was put on display as a product for sale which was poor business practice due to the fact that Pet Food Center more than likely permanently lost this customer and made themselves look like heels in the process, thus we are reading this negative review. Pet Food Center should be ashamed of themselves for their lack of assertiveness and compassion.
