I came in for surgery to reduce swelling in my finger and the infection has now spread and I'm losing color in my other fingers I've been neglected I've been put to the side and I haven't gotten the kid that I needed my hand still hurts it's getting worse I feel losing my finger help did happen at 4:29-2023 got here at 11:00 a.m. it is now 329 p.m. and a doctor hasn't came to see me or talk to me about what's going to happen when the surgery is very ridiculous
Desired outcome: Better care more attentiveness to the patients competent nurses
Patient care
I was told to come to Norwalk community hospital before being able to go to Bellflower behavioral health hospital for treatment. While here I was told I have a urinary tract infection and admitted for treatment. I spent the night screaming in pain from the severe pain I have due to my right hip that needs to be replaced. I also informed them that I had a lot of pain on my right ribcage and that coughing made the pain unbearable. While screaming all night in pain I was completely ignored and when I requested pain relief and something for my cough I was informed I could have a Tylenol but nothing else. What kind of hospital has staff sit and witness this?
My mother's care
My mother was taken to Norwalk Community on December 19 via ambulance and the sheriff's department. I told them she was on heart medication and yet it took 24 hours for her to be seen by a doctor and put on said medications. Whenever I call to try and get an update I'm told to call back in an hour because they are busy. They put her in a covid room and when I ask them to retest her it took them 3 days to fix the issue and put her in the noncovid area but by then she was deteriorating in health more. She has been moved a total of 4 times and is now on oxygen. It's Christmas day and all I want is to speak to my mother and all I get is call back later or she's asleep or I'm to busy. This hospital wasn't good before covid-19 but now I fear it's going to kill my mother.
Desired outcome: Patient transfer to another hospital wasn't

I need !!
My mother has been in the hospital for a while her name is Maria muñoz. I been trying to get in contact with someone all they tell me that they are really busy my mother has not been getting changed they leave her with poop with out changing her until they feel like it. Her pain medication is not giving when she's supposed too they tell her they will be back they leave her with pain they get back at her until 4hours later . Also yesterday she was being transferred to another hospital they did not notify us her family she didn't know were she was going she asked the nurses and they said they were not sure of the name of the place .paramedics picked her up from Norwalk hospital to take her to were ever the other hospital she was supposed to go too. No one never opened the doors to this hospital I need to know what is going on someone needs to give us an explanation now I don't even think this is a safe place for my mother to go too. Also your nurses are very rude I try asking them a question and they give me an ugly attitude I do need to know what's going on with my mother.
Incorrect telephone number
This facility has their telephone number listed incorrectly on the Internet and on their documents given to their patients upon release. On their website their telephone number including the area code is correct. However, if you google the facility the Internet gives the number with a "310" area code instead of the "562" area code that actually belongs to them. Additionally, this hospital was giving out old emergency room release forms to patients they released from the hospital with the "310" area code instead of changing the form or crossing out the old number and replacing it with the new "562" area code. This telephone number with the "310" area code and same main 7 numbers as the hospital happens to be my cell phone number. This has been my cell phone number for over 13 years! So I have been getting telephone calls from patients, their family and other entities associated with the hospital for this many years or more. You can imagine my frustration and that of those trying to reach their loved ones who were or are being cared for at this hospital. I have filed compliant after compliant to no avail. Next, I will take legal action for the strife this has caused my myself and my family receiving so many calls over the years. I now am asking for the hospital to pay my cell phone bill dating back to these 13 years since they have neglected to resolve this issue after being informed of this error repeatedly.

Mr. Richard Blumenthal
Senator CT
Dear Sir;
On Sunday, June 19, I went to the emergency department at Norwalk Hospital at 3:00 am suffering from strong stomach pains and with diarrhea and nausea.
In the waiting room were only an elderly person and I.
After waiting over an hour with great pain, I asked a nurse to let me see a doctor or give me something for the pain.
Finally the nurse get into a room and left me there for 2 ½ hours without attention, I repeatedly asked them to give me something for pain or to relieve the diarrhea that did not stop. During all this time I was totally ignored
I decided to leave the hospital, which I told to one of the nurses, to my surprise the doctor prescribed me some medicine, without having made any examination, blood tests or anything to determine the probable cause of the pain, nausea and diarrhea.
However, even greater was my surprise when a nurse named Kathleen came into the rooin front of my wife and other nurses and patients.
Dr. Arthur Strichman did absolutely nothing to stop the insults; in a fit of rage this woman literally pull the needle from my arm so violently that the blood leap, seeing my astonishment at such aggression she said "put your hand in the arm to hold the blood, because at the end is your own blood”
She did not provided me with a bandage or gauze to put on the wound and I had to leave the room bleeding and asking a nurse to please give me something to put on the wound.
All this without any nurse or doctor to intervene to stop the aggression.
On Monday June 20th, I went to the hospital and talk to Mrs. Lorraine Salavec, MS, RN, CEN, Director Clinical Operation, and Joanne, I told both the story of what happened and I left with the promise that the events would be investigated but with great doubt that justice would be done by the attitude of Mrs. Lorraine.
On Monday 20, I had to return to the Emergency Room and on Wednesday, June 22, this last time I had to take the ambulance, but to my surprise the same group of nurses of June 19 was working. The first thing the nurse said was "are you here again"?
They sent me to the waiting room even though that I was folded with severe pain and refused to attend me.
I asked to speak with the manager of the nurses, but the attitude of the nurses was so aggressive that I did not know what to do. Finally came the manager "Patty" in a very rude way she told me that I had to wait, I replied that the pain was very strong that if they do not let me see a doctor I had to leave quickly to be attend by another hospital, the response was not only inhuman was cruel, she said, "Well, good luck"
After a week I did not received response to my complaints to Mrs. Lorraine, and I decided to back to the hospital to check the status of my complaint Mrs. Lorraine called me the same day to apologize to me for what had happened and say that they recognized when they made mistakes, refused to say whether if she had taken any steps or disciplinary action against the nurse and of course they told me she no going to be not fired.
The Norwalk Hospital has violated my rights in every way, all patients have the right to be treated when they are in pain, and the hospital has an obligation to help relieve it.
The hospital violates the rights and responsibilities of patients stated in paragraph 1;
You have the right to expect care Respectful and considerate, a safe environment be and the right to expect appropriate management pain.
In the paragraph, seven says:
To the degree that it is humanly possible, you are entitled to reasonable responses to your request for services.
The nurse Kathleen does not have the minimum conditions to work in a pet store, or anything that has blood or have to do with a living being. This person does not deserve to work with humans beings who need care solidarity and compassion; this nurse should be detained in prison or in a psychiatric hospital.
The hospital in Norwalk, allow this person to continue working with patients and this only show and gives the degree of irresponsibility of the managers of this hospital.
Apparently, the Norwalk Hospital has billed my insurance for services not rendered, like a visit from June 22, except that the hospital charged for talking to the manager of the nurses, however a copy of this letter will be sent to my insurance
The Norwalk Hospital has been negligent; the decision of the physician to prescribe me medications with severe side effects without any previous examination is an example of neglect, disrespect and failure
I await your response as soon as possible, because I am not satisfied with the one I got verbally.
If there is no a logical answer to this complaint, you can be sure that a copy of this letter going to all departments, politicians or entities that are related to the hospitals in the state of CT, as well as websites and social networks.
Pictures of the arm damages are attached.
Without ruling out legal action.
Waiting for your response;
Sincerely,
Ricardo Feliu

I'm in complete and full agreement review Ricardo about the Norwalk hospital and the way that they neglect their patients they think that they are God gift to the medicine world and they feel that they can treat patients however rudely and disrespect Lee as they wish without any recourse whatsoever I've spent many many many times in the Norwalk hospital due to a very terrible disease called lupus I was in and out of there for almost a year and a half from 2010 on and now I'm even scared to go back there even if I'm in pain because I know the way that they treat people I wish I had the backing to be able to take down some of the people in the emergency room and some of the doctors that have treated me like just your average drug addict or a patient that has absolutely no care but I hope that you get through to the people that you're trying to get through to for your complaint and if you ever need somebody to back you you can certainly call on me
Racist nurses, and harassment
The nursing staff are all smiles when you walkin or when there is family members around during visiting hours, after the visiting hours, then the true racist and neglect comes out, i noticed that there where patients there for months not being seen by any doctors and when the doctors came by it was just to look for about 5 minutes late at night, most of the staff could not even really speak english. This was my first time in a hospital for more then a day and i would not ever go back to that location, i worn all americans in the southern california area. Do not send your family members to norwalk community hospital or los angeles community hospital on bloom-field, i even contacted the director of nurses marget and never received a call back it should be a federal crime the way they treat there patients... I asked one of the nurses how long had she been in the states and she replied about a year. This message is to all americans. Do not send your family members or your self to that facility. It is hell on earth and the funny thing is that all the patients that sit in the beds for months at a time are being taken care of by the tax payers. Because of the medicare. The doctors wanted the patients to stay as long as they could keep them so money could be made from the bed. Its just a little wierd that the whole nursing staff was of asian or from the philippines. And this is the first time i seen racism directly in my face. This is america and im american and should be treated that way, what if americans started discriminating against asians that couldn't speak proper english.
My dad was a patient there and received the same treatment. he died a couple weeks later after being transfered to the VA Hospital in Long Beach, when he arrived to the VA Hospital, the doctors noticed that the Norwalk Community Hospital felt pieces of medical supplies inside his system. The FBI or Government needs to be contacted to let people know what the hell is going on at Hospitals and the Illegal Nurses that work for these doctors.

I believe everything they said about the hospital is true.my mother went there to er after takeing a pain pill for her back after a fall she had.they said they were going to keep her over night to observe her and they end up addmiteing her.she died the next day.they did something to her.and the nurses there are very lazy.i called to see how my mom was and the phone rang like there's a lot more to the story .7 times before a nurse answer.you can tell she was sleeping.i asked her were you sleeping and her answer to me was sorry but we have a lot off work and were tired.what I'm getting out is that they don't care about patients.they also need to speak English they talk there languish and it's very rude of them.well to end my story we got an attourney that took our case.i know that it won't bring my mother back .I just to want them to hurt any one else like they did with my mom.
Good morning,
I've been a nurse for about twenty years and I'm non-Caucasian . To tell you the truth my son had been there three times and I did meet three good nurses from the ER Jamie, Erin and a male Hispanic nurse but then after that it was all downhill. The reason we went to that hospital was because my son's primary M.D. was a resident there. What I ended up doing was changing M.D."s and going to another hospital. Not only do most of the nurses not speak English I have to believe someone took their Boards (test) in order for them to become nurses. The nurses are lazy and rude. My son, who is disabled, was there when I went to check on him they stated he ate 100% of both breakfast and lunch. I said that's great, who fed him? They told me he fed himself, I said what a miracle he hasn't been able to feed himself for years and is unable to feed himself (caught them in a lie). I could go on and on about how racist, untrained, lazy and ignorant these nurses are my advise to you is to call the company that certifies them it is called JHCAO. Do not depend on this hospital to monitor themselves please call JHCAO they certify and can monitor your complaints. Don't even go to this hospitals patient rights person you're just wasting your time. Remember any complaints call JHCAO>
I totally agree. My father was in their facility a couple of days ago. When I called in on the 3rd day he was there, I spoke to his nurse by the name of Naty. She was rude, cold, & didn't care about my concern of the well being of my father. All that would come out of her mouth was I don't know I don't know. It's scary when the nurse who is taking care of my father is saying I don't know to everything I am asking her. She tried saying I wasn't able to call in and get information on my father. Then she started talking about the patient that was in the bed next to my father. That told me a lot about her. I was able to speak to the director of nurses & file a complaint against Naty. The other nurses were very sweet and understanding about the concern of my father's well being. I would hate for her to speak to someone else's family member the way she did with me.
My son, who is a dialysis patient, was taken to the ER with a blocked shunt they first missed a whole day of meds (serious medical error) and then didn't receive dialysis until the next day. While in the ER they did a blood draw and his WBC was in the 20's and they waited 3 days before they gave him antibiotics. They put him on a 1-1 nurse (his own personal nurse because they said I requested it, I never said such a thing. His diet was supposed to be mech. soft but they put him on a puree diet. He was suppose to get ensure two times a day and never once received it. He was also supposed to constantly be on oxygen when I checked his cannula it was in his nostrils but wasn't even turned on this happened twice. His teeth were filthy and they claimed they brushed it but when I asked where the toothbrush was they had to go to the supply room and brought a brand new toothbrush. Then they kept pushing him to go to a long term facility when he wanted to come home so as his WBC was getting close to normal the nurse told me the MD told her to hold all antibiotics of course his WBC went up and they stated "see he's not well enough to go home yet." This is just some of what happened so if you can help with an agency where I can file a complaint please email me @misterwest21@yahoo.com. He just got transferred a few hours ago so I'm doing whatever I can to make someone be held accountable. Oh yes, you are correct the nurses are as rude as they come (except for three). Racist, yes I been a nurse for about 20 years and this place is the worst I've ever seen.
This is one the absolute WORST hospitals I have ever been to in my whole life.
If you value your LIFE do NOT come here.
Say What you want nothing will ever change the way i feel for this no good of a wanna be hospital, That let My Mother DIE from a what was supposed to be simple and successful non life threating surgery! More like Medical Malpratice My Attorneys are on top of everything & investigating detail for detail so if you've worked there, are work there, it is Nothing To Be Proud Of ...Sooner rather then later this liltle winky dink place will be entirely shut down and ill make sher of IT!

If the insurance is provided by the federal government into which we pay our taxes then we should have EVERY right to demand quality care. The reason the federal government would get involved in insurance in the first place is to ensure that everyone gets care and it should be good because medical professionals doing their job well and keeping people well is something that serves the public good. It is in ALL of our interests that people who get such care get the very best they can get. You say "you should feel lucky". We don't have a system based on LUCK or you get better care based on the more money you can pay. Where does that end? If I can slip the doctor $1000 I get better care.. but if I slip him $3000 does my care get 3x better? If the hospital isn't being sufficiently compensated then the feds need to come up with a better compensation structure that SHOULDN'T mean you take it out on the patients who have less. In a system where procedures cost tens of thousands of dollars there are a LOT of people who will have "less" people well into the upper middle class would have a problem putting their hands on $15, 000 or $20, 000 and over the course of a hospital stay where doctors and hospitals are padding the bill, overcharging for aspirin, and extending stays to increase their compensation that kind of money can go quickly. Rather than exorcising your hatred of welfare, government, and medicaid... why not advocate for more nurse training.. more support for salaries.. better management of public hospitals and maybe it is better for RN's and doctors to get out of the business of being cashiers and allow for a more robust and innovative payment and compensation system that YES, has involvement of federal and state governments, as well as a private component for those who can afford it. The system you describe can be found in TODAY'S Russia and Thailand.. where health care tourists travel to other countries and pay what to us seems like bargain wages for top notch medical care.. while our systems here starve because our government finances are controlled by a corrupt and immature set of political ideas.
it is not right for the american governement to bring all those nurses over here to work! what about all the American people that cant get into the nursing schools because of lack of funding and obsurd waitting list. This is out rages people thinks its ok for them to taka all the jobs! America is in a very sad state!
LOL, in your face...
First of all, ###s...if your insurance is provided by the federal government, FOR FREE!, then you should not be allowed to even have an opinion about the healthcare you received from any facility that accepts your free insurance. Do you really expect to receive A-class service with the insurance coverage that you have...these hospitals don't even get paid for taking care of you, so you're lucky they let you walk in. Maybe you should think about getting a job and getting off welfare, so that you can have better insurance and go to a hospital that will treat you better...actually, on second thought, just go to this place again when you do have better coverage and they will most likely treat you better, just because they'll get paid this time.
