Hard to use and no customer support
Nordvpn is a HORRIBLE company with horrible customer service. The product is difficult to use. You cannot talk to a human. You have to email exact issues that would take pages to write. Then, even though you started telling them their product was not a good fit….they wait until you are outside your 30 days to say you cannot get a refund. Just so unprofessional. To make it worse, they are in Panama. You cannot file a BBB Complaint on them.

Unable to gather the service credentials
I encountered a problem obtaining the service credentials to manually configure the meshnet service.
At the moment I'm using/evaluating the service at free level.
I used also the "real time" chat, and it's really awesome.
I spoken with "Keanu" and "Phoenix" and both these boys are really patient and available, more in deep their questions are pertinent...
Unfortunately the problem involve some central settings (related to the rendering of pages), so at the end the support take over the problem, but from the enduser perspective they're competent and despite the fact that the problem was not addressable by a simple knowledge-base page, their analysis was good.

Amazing Customer Service
I'm on a Mac (M1 16" MacBook Pro) and was having an issue with Nord VPN when my iPhone was connected to my Mac via USB to sync it with Mac Music (or for any other reason).
Although Nord VPN showed it was connected to the internet I was unable to connect to any websites, check my mail using Mac Mail, or any other thing involving connection to the internet.
I had at least half a dozen responses from various customer service reps at Nord, all in a timely manner, suggesting various fixes. None of them worked but no one gave up trying.
This morning I received one more attempted fix and it worked. It was an easy fix and it solved the problem beautifully.
I couldn't be more impressed with their follow through to work this all out.
Excellent and respectful technical support team
When I signed up for NordVPN in April 2024, I got confused on which email address I used for connecting to NordVPN. As a result, I had recorded the wrong email address as the entry point for NordVPN in my password protection database. So, when I seemed to run into a problem I logged off and on with/ the wrong email address. This caused the NordVPN product to keep prompting me for a subscription plan -- even when I logged off and on with the correct email address. Only when we removed the original software and re-installed it using the correct email address did I get relief. The process took a few emails but it was resolved. This was complicated because I am currently in a Paris apartment and I needed network protection for any personal work.
Nordvpn via Amazon
I purchased Nordvpn via Amazon last year with Auto renewal. On the renewal date Amazon debit my account as expected and the Amazon subscription account showed that I was subscribed for another year. However, I couldn't access the VPN and when I check my Nord account it showed expired. I contacted Amazon who were totally unhelpful and would not accept responsibility (despite recognising that they had taken the money for the service) only advising me to contact Nord. The Nord experience could not have been more different. After raising the issue it was clear that the information had not been passed from Amazon but as I had provided appropriate screenshots proving purchase the matter was resolved immediately. Next year I will renew directly with Nord.
Impressive
I was previously a customer with the main competitor, after my subscription ran out I thought I would try Nord. Initially I had some problems connecting via 5G, I contacted support by email and received a response within 15 minutes. Once contact was made all further messages were responded to immediately. They helped me troubleshoot and fixed the issue quickly.
Since then I have had a fast and stable connection. With the previous company I always had to disconnect when using Netflix as the quality of the stream was poor, not so with Nord. I also haven't had any websites or services deny my connection.
I am impressed with Nord, the customer service is great, the stability and speed of the connection are excellent and of course the price is extremely competitive.
Having tried the two main VPN providers, Nord is the clear winner for me and I would recommend anyone to give them a try.

Brilliant Service
Great Service, 'NordLynx' is the new 'Wiregaurd' protocol everyone else is using, but with the "flaw" fixed in it using a double NAT traversal (or something like that) - RAM-only servers so no data retention. The options available out-match any other VPN, and it IS the fastest - I get 760Mbps + 20ms ping (NE UK to Dublin, Ireland)
The only thing I disliked is they removed the ability to CHOOSE servers in the location (like from 20 servers in Ireland), now you just got to hit the country and hope for the best, but options like Obfuscated servers, double tunneling, TOR over VPN and much more make it very appealing, they are open to suggestions too that they put forward to the team.
They have a sort of anti-virus built in too, but I find enabling it is very taxing on my machine...it has a lite version that proves this...I have it off as I have a hardened browser anyway and common sense.
Its that good the government made me prove I was living in this country! Lol -
Fast, easy, reliable
I switched from surfshark about 2 months ago because of constant connectivity issues with their browser extension. Nordvpn has fewer vpn locations but they all connect quickly and work well using the app or browser extension. Some locations were slow and hard to connect to during peak hours with surfshark. I got 120-130mb download speed on a fast server with surfshark, I'm getting 180-200mb with Nordvpn using any vpn location, with the same pc and internet service.
I've had no real issues, just some configuration stuff, the tech support staff are very helpful and they actually follow up for as long as it takes to resolve the issue.
I took advantage of a promotion so Nordvpn only cost me slightly more than Surfshark but it has been faster, quicker to connect, and far more stable than Surfshark was.
I can't speak to the mobile experience, I don't use any mobile devices on the internet, but I am using it on 3 windows pc's and it works equally well on all 3.
All things considered, I'm happy I switched.
Customer Service Demand Credit Card Numbers to Fix Anything
First they asked for the first 6 digits, then they asked for the last 4 digits!
Credit/Debit Card - If the payment was made via credit/debit card please provide the first 6 digits as well as the expiry date of your card and the cardholder's full name.
After several emails getting NO HELP.

I give up! I paid for multiple years for all of their products which are unusable because the authorization setup was wiped from my phone. And because when I purchased and installed NordLocker, it failed in the process of replacing the all important key.
I'm leaving this horrid product and crooked customer service, which basically wants my entire credit card number before helping me use their product.
Recommendation: Don't give them your money or any information.

Unreliable after update: My experience with NordVPN
NordVPN done got me messed up, y'all. I was using it fine for a hot minute, but after the dang update, my ping time went from a cool 20-40ms to freaking 200+ms or straight up timed out! And guess what they do? Absolutely nothing! No solution, no fix, no nothin'!
I mean, come on, NordVPN, get your act together! I'm paying good money for this service and y'all can't even keep it running right? It's frustrating as heck when I'm trying to use it for work or to stream my favorite shows, and I can't even connect.
Don't get me wrong, when it's running smoothly, it's a great VPN. The speeds are decent, and I love how easy it is to use. Plus, their customer service is pretty good too. But dang, when something goes wrong, they really drop the ball.
Overall, if you're looking for a decent VPN and don't mind the occasional tech issue, NordVPN might be okay for you. But if you need something reliable and consistent, you might want to look elsewhere.

Me and my friends tried NordVPN and we gotta say, the experience was not good. First of all, it was super tough cancelling the subscription, took me a couple of tries and phone calls to finally get it done. And even after that, my account got charged for the time I didn't even use NordVPN for. What a bummer, right?
The customer support was downright horrible. I mean, I didn't expect much but the reps were so unhelpful, it was almost like they didn't care about my problem at all. They couldn't even answer my questions properly. It's like they were reading off a script or something.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend NordVPN to anyone. You're better off going with another VPN provider that's more user-friendly and has better customer support. Save yourself the hassle.

I was really disappointed with my experience with NordVPN. One major issue I had was that once you enter your payment information, they don't allow you to delete it. This made me very uneasy, as I'm always worried about the security of my personal information online.

I feel like I have no other choice but to cancel my credit card in order to make sure that they can't access my payment information again. It's just not worth the risk to keep my information stored with a company that doesn't seem to respect my wishes.
Overall, I would not recommend NordVPN to anyone who values privacy and security online. Their handling of payment information and renewal options is just too risky for me to feel comfortable using their service again.

After one be month trial I thought I cancelled my account and removed the app from my laptop. 4 months later I see they were still charging my account. I logged back into the account and discovered it takes multiple pages to actually cancel the account. Buyer beware of their trickery. They were unwilling to refund any of the money. So are you sure you want to sign up with NordVPN? Are you sure? Are you sure?
