MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Existing Package

All the staff I dealt with are all incompetent and needs to be trained to offer customer service. It is disgusting to think we pay so much for a service to be bullied by a corporate.

I get charged for a service which I don't use and no agent is helping me.

From Bongiwe, Thandokasi and Ntombovatuko, all empty promise and nobody solves my issue.

I need serious assistance from someone with knowledge please.

Desired outcome: Rectify my account

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Decoder services - a303302320

Disappointing services and unfulfilled promises

Dstv does not care about their customers they only care about their own benefits, I have been taken from pillar to post for their poor services and promises they gave me the whole last month August 2022

My decorder was not working for the whole month and now I have I must pay again for the service I am not accessing or benefiting for, Since 3rd August I was calling the customer service with no luck of resolutions,

1. They added extra services on my package which I didn't authorize for, I got when I suppose to pay in spar that my subscription is increased from R600 to R800, of which it has been cancelled same-day,

2. Afterwards, my decoder 'S hard drive was not corrupt, according to screen messages, I must call them, they tried to help me over the phone after airtime depleted, spend so much Rands, they send me to their agency, the agency formatted decoder and promised it will work, it was still not working,

3. I whatsapped them again, they said I must bring it in to change it for me, because I am disabled having difficulty in walking, I asked someone to take in for me, it has been changed, but still it's was not working,

4. I have to call customer service again which is yesterday, they again promised that someone from their office will call me back with 011 number, while I waited for call for the whole day, until this morning I was following it up and the lady to me that she can't help me because my service has been suspended, and I must pay for them to help me,

I want to know is it fair for someone to pay for their services that she or he can't access or benefit for? What happened to my last month subscription I paid on the 08/08/2022, and the service was on the 16/08/2022 of R600?

5. For the whole past month, scheduled my programs, but I couldn't watch them, I am on explora but I can't catch up any chance, it keeps in saying "my selected catch up is not available in this country" for the whole month,

Desired outcome: To be attended immediately to refund me the previous account and for me to pay this month's subscription,

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV DSTV Installer

DSTV Network previously Aerialsats DSTV installers, did a terrible first installation. Drilled right through the top of the wall, middle of Curtains, I called them back and the guy said he took over aerialsats. Came to my home with no tools, used my butter knife to open up points and still didn't know what to do. I asked him to not come back. He insisted that I pay him even tough he didn't do a thing. His bill was R3049.00. We agreed that I pay for labour @R1650.00 even though nothing was done. Unfortunately, my husband paid the full amount. Bryce (Installer) said he would refund me at the end of August 2022. I have been trying to get hold of him and he does not take my calls and has since blocked any calls from me. I will not get the money back but this is to warn people never to use them, Bad workmanship and thieves. I subsequently got another installer who was amazing sorted it out in an hour and charged me R 1300.00. Hence, DSTV Network are thieves!

Desired outcome: Refund please

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Service

Good Day,

I'm Zanele Sokoyi dstv customer with smartcard no [protected]. On the 23/07/22 I successfully downgraded my package from Family to Access and using the dstv selfservice and was advised that the downgrade would be effective 01/08/22 and an amount of R230 would be deducted on my account.

On the 01/08/22 an amount of R230 was deducted from my bank account as per the downgrade request and was no longer able to view channels on Family package. Today the 29/08/22 received an sms message from dstv indicating that my next debit order is R608. I called the customer service sametime to enquire and to my surprise I was told that I was still on the family package and that I had canceled the downgrade request on the dstv self service on the 01/08/22.

This is not correct and there is no evidence on my chat on the self service that I had sent any message to request same. Due to dstv's incompetency now I am expected to pay for service that I never requested nor enjoyed. When I requested the consultant to send through my complain to the technicians she advise she was unable to do so on her side and suggested that I go to [protected]@dstv.com but didn't see any options for one to lodge complaint.

I have made it clear to the consultant that I refuse to pay for dstv's incompetency and I want this mess to be corrected failing which I will have no option but to cancel my services and escalate matter.

Hope you find the above in order and to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Zanele Sokoyi

Cell no: [protected]

Email: [protected]@gmail.com

Desired outcome: To be billed for the correct package that I had requested.

I rebooted my decoder and still nothing. Had to hustle to call them and I was told "That package doesn't exists on my plan" it's funny because they offered me that and I even went an extra mile to pay that amount but dololo compact..

Nowander people are leaving dstv and installing Vuma internet il join them.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Call center agent

I have Disney+ as a add on on my dstv account which is active as I checked on the whatsapp self service. I wanted to watch a movie on my Disney+ account but was unable too as I had to subscribe again. I contacted the dstv call center and was told by the agent I should subscribe again which I did but was charged R119 which is incorrect as Disney+ is already on my dstv account, now I'm being double charged for Disney+ and am unable to reverse the R119 charged to my bank account

Desired outcome: Refund of R119

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Bad serves I received from nonhlanhla a call center agent. And he hole enter dstv

I write this message in regard to the service I encountered with a multi-choice two weeks ago. I'm flabbergasted and perplexed on how multi choices as a big entity would do false advertising on its elderly customers. The account I'm referring to is my mother and her customer number is [protected] and her name is E. Mavuso. last month she was asked to reopen her account and was told to pay R215 for three months from July and she paid R215 plus the reconnection fee of R50. On the 2nd of august, the message through her phone again told her to pay R65 and it was due on the 5th of august. She paid on the 3rd of this month and her account was disconnected on the 8th hence I called customer care on that day and I was disgruntled with the pure service I received from a call center agent name Nonhlanhla. Nonhlanhla talks to her workmates and clients at the same time I gave her the ID number of the clients she was to help. She kept on asking me the ID numbers numerous times and I even told her ill was running out of airtime and she lied to me as a client that she would get back to me when we disconnect. Even now as I write this message I'm still waiting for her call as she promised me as a client. "promising lies to customers". I had to call an hour late and spoke to Anellsa at about 4 in the after the sad part about that day was I felt like a responsible parent as my three-year-old child with her nephews told me there were no cartoons showing on TV.  I was at the car wash at the time of the call my car was inside the wash bay and it was a holiday on the 8th so it was a long holiday. I paid a fool price at the car wash for the pore soup water only coz I got a call and had to rush home. it was not their prerogative to have not finished my car. I had to take care of the children at home by taking them out to burger king not far from home. again whose prerogative is that? mine. on the 10th I had to drive to my mother's house to pick her up at maponya mall about the query she's having with the multi-choice account. Anelisa the call center agency told me it's a preparator amount and that wasn't stipulated in the SMS you sent your client. She told me my mother needed to pay R300 and something for her to be reconnected. At maponya Mall was told something else different and shocking to hear what happens to name a few. bear in mind the first SMS said she can pay R215 for three months from July to September. ovasly she had to pay R50 so that she could be reconnected coz she was not using the account since last year I think.  there is no were in your contract that stipulates clients to pay for a preparatory fee during the actual services "being online". One of your employees told me that I brock the deal when I paid that R65 and have to go back to paying the R300 and something. I fill as a consumer of DSTV. I guess we all know when it comes false marketing to your client means and we know the act of consumer rights.   I've got proof of all the recordings I made and the SMSs received from DSTV and the slips even the one at the DSTV store.

Desired outcome: I fill DSTV should take responsibility for its doing and lack of training of its employees who never ask for help if there are not sure about the product. Doing so cost us dearly when we are being taken from pillar to post

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Overcharging customers

Ticket Number [protected]

DSTV has charged me 3 times during the month of July without any reason. My account was up to date and they debited an amount of R2870.

I have called 5days straight in a row. The call center agents are extremely unprofessional. They talk to me plus their friends at the same time. Some of them can barely speak English and they have promised to call back on 5 different occasions but never did. Their Team Leader seems to be in hiding because he is never available.

It is clear that these call center agents do not have a clue of what they are doing.

Multichoice is now sitting with my money which I cannot get back.

It is the worst service short of a Government department.

Desired outcome: I want my money back. This feels like theft to me

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV My Services have been disconnected after I've paid MultiChoice

To say I'm upset is an understatement, I'm fuming and disgusted by the service of Multichoice. Multichoice has been disconnecting my service every second day for over a week now. They are saying they are unable to allocate my payment which was made on the 27 of July for the month of August. I've had this account for over 15 years and I'm absolutely disgusted by the service I've received from Multichoice. I had to send them proof of payment for them to reconnect, they reconnect for a day only to switch it off the next day. Whenever I call they tell me "the matter has been escalated and your payment will be allocated".

Desired outcome: Reconnect my services

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Payment not reflecting

Multichoice has been disconnecting my services everyday for the past 7 days now. Their reason is that I didn't pay, I always pay my dstv on time on the second of every month. I had to send them proof of payment for them to reconnect, they reconnect for a day only to switch it off the next day. Whenever I call they tell me "the matter has been escalated and your payment will be allocated". Today they even refused to reconnect me saying it's again their policies, what the hell am I paying for then?. At this point I don't know what to do because when I ask to speak to the manager they refuse or put me on hold for 1 hour

Desired outcome: Reconnect my services without me having to call every day

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Fraudulent debit orders on the incorrect dates and surcharges on my customer account

I've had a contract with DSTV for the last two years as part of the price lock premium package. I updated my debit order date with DSTV but since then they have persistently continued to debit my account 15 days earlier than agreed. Which means, they would disconnect my account every month and then charge my for reconnection fees. My Debit order amount therefore also fluctuates every time they do it because my account would suddenly go from R899 for the PRICE LOCK to almost a R1000 and sometimes even above R1000.

I have to contact their offices every month to update my information for the payment date and to make sure it is right, but every single month the same thing would happen.

I have now spent a total of over 100 hours on the phone with their offices, chatted to6 different persons on the whatsapp chat function and did it on the self service function but to no resolve. They are refusing to reconnect my package and demanding payment of the incorrect debit order they are charging me for before they will even attempt to deal with my account.

Desired outcome: Either Reconnect my DSTV Account with immediate effect OR terminate my contract and refund me almy premiums for the constant hassle and inconvenience I had to experience with this company.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Payments

Last month on the 02 July 2022 I made my DSTV payment and on the 4th July the channels where cut off. I called and i was told i made a late payment even though it was not and I sent proof of payment to them. Then on the 26th July 2022 I made a payment for the month of August. Today on the 4th again my channels where cut off. In inquiring I was told that I was billed from the 26th till the 1st and now my balance is R66.00 and now I have to pay another R99.00 as apparently I paid late last month and they say I paid on the 5th July so they deducted from my amount. DSTV is simply trying to double bill me and I'm not happy about it.

Desired outcome: I want my channels to be reconnected.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV Savings Account Debited when I do not have a contrcat with MultiChoice

I cancelled my contract with MultiChoice in May 2022. Despite discussing the mmater with their Agent they continued to debit my account which they corrected after I had to visited their offices again. Now on 1st August 2022 they debit my Savings Account again. I called their Call Centre and the agent verified my personal info. I explained that I had cancelled my contract and he said that I shoudl speak to another agent. After holding on for 12 minutes the next agent started listening and then cut the call.

I think that it is fraud to bill for a cancelled contract.

Desired outcome: Admit your mistake. Refund the value taken and pay the bank transaction charges
