I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the mishandling of my late grandmother’s account and the inadequate assistance I have received from your [branch name] branch. My grandmother, Jacqueline Green, passed away on 9/26/2025. Her account with M&T Bank was closed following her death, and the remaining balance was issued by check. Unfortunately, M&T mailed that check to her old address, despite the estate providing notice of her death and updated information. The check was never cashed, yet the branch has repeatedly told me that “there’s nothing they can do.” I have spoken to multiple representatives and even the branch manager, but no one has been able to escalate or resolve the situation properly. This has caused unnecessary stress and delay in the proper settlement of my grandmother’s estate. I am requesting immediate intervention by M&T’s corporate estate or deposit operations team to place stop from first check mailing to grandmother house and reissue another check.
