I'm a cancer Patient with a very un-certain future and a heart condition that paid Place One Apartments in Plymouth Meeting, Pa. a penalty to in my opinion escape the continual nightly violation of my quiet enjoyment rights! You heard it right!
Noisy neighbors from day one that in my opinion the staff was very lackluster in getting them to conform to the quiet hour rules would wake me up at midnight, 3 Am or whenever. This would usually happen twice a night but sometimes 3 times a night...and 5- 6 nights a week... This eventually caused so much stress I had to get out of there...
To be frank I don't remember how many times we complained about the nightly banging, slamming and appliance running during what is supposed to be a quiet time. But the first time we complained it was said it would be a week before anything was started to remedy the situation... YES a whole week and that is what did happen!
In my opinion telling the office that all I wanted was my quiet enjoyment rights meant little to them. I was given the option of breaking the lease and paying a penalty or remain responsible for the entire term!
Yes, I had to pay a penalty to save what health I had left and possibly save my """"LIFE""""" .
Adding to the stress, , , , , , management gave me 7 days to decide if I was leaving but they still wanted 60 days notice! In my opinion this is hypocrisy at its' best! Yup as sick as I was I had a week to go out and find something or stay there and probably go insane from the lack of sleep.
Is it my fault I had neighbors that wouldn't respect the quiet hour rules? Because of these in-house quiet rules is why I moved there in the first place.
Also, in my opinion the quiet enjoyment right laws means nothing to the management of Place One Apartments in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.!
I'm out over $3, 500. This money could have been used to help save my life or at least help make things a bit more comfortable.
In my opinion Place ones Management both in-house and at corporate only cares about squeezing you for everything they can. In my opinion this is very evident in what happened to our security deposit... A month ago we had a final billing and wrote the check... Now they claim we owe for electricity and other things yet we weren't even living there during the new billing period and had turned in the keys, paperwork and everything asked for!
So now I'm out almost $3, 700! as there should be a refund due on the electric charge.
They preach customer service and how hard they work to keep residents happy... In my opinion this is a smoke screen or they in my opinion would have been pro-active and more willing to help me with the noisy night owls..
IT WAS HOPED I could at least recover enough to report my experience so others might be able to make a more educated choice if they ever think about moving into Place One Apartments in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
I will update as my health allows with any and all actions as seen necessary on my part!
In addition, what price tag would one put on the emotional stress I incurred due to in my opinion the lackluster way my quiet enjoyment rights were protected by the staff ad management of Place One Apartment?
