pharmacy
Pharmacy experience
I saw my psychiatrist yesterday and due to some issues she changed my vyvanse script from 7mg/1x a day to 40mg 2x/day. I brought the script to the pharmacy last night and was told by the tech that the pharmacist didn’t feel comfortable filling this script until she spoke with the doctor the following day due to my last vyvanse script being filled so recently. I wasn’t happy b/c I have specifically rearranged my schedule to see my psychiatrist early b/c of the issues I was having with the vyvanse, but I didn’t feel I had any choice, so I was told I would be called after talking to my doctor. All day today I checked my phone to see if I had any calls from the pharmacy for an update and checked online to see if my script had been filled yet. Finally at the end of work I called Meijer pharmacy to see where things were at and was told my script needed a prior authorization. I was confused b/c no one had said that last night nor had anyone called me to tell me that. The tech wasn’t sure so she asked me to hold to check with the pharmacist. The tech came back stating the pharmacist was finishing up with something and would call me back. At this point it was 330pm and I asked if I would be called back soon b/c my doctor’s office closed at 4pm so if I need something signed off I needed to call the doctor soon. She said it should only be a few minutes. I drove home which takes me about 30 minutes with no call back. I went to the pharmacy and was told that since 70mg is the max the insurance pays and the 40mg twice a day is 80mg they need a prior authorization submitted from the doctor. When I asked why I hadn’t been told of the change I was met with a blank stare and no answer. I was told they faxed the prior authorization to the doctor’s office last night. I quickly tried to call my doctor’s office a little after 4pm but the doctor had left for the day already. I asked if there were any options to get a partial fill or attempt to resubmit or any other ideas and was told no. There was no responsibility or empathy or apology given. My doctor’s office also told me that no one had called the doctor to check about the recent new script. The admin I had talked to at my doctor’s office called me shortly after and stated they had no prior authorization fax for me. I informed the pharmacist and was again met with no response. This is the only medication that helps me at all and jumping through all these hoops with no communication was extremely upsetting. I, unfortunately have to take a lot of medication and this one situation makes me want to take all my medication as well as my families and go somewhere else. I felt no support or help or team work to figure out a solution or at least a sorry you have to deal with all this.

70mg not 7mg
This is purely your insurance. I work with a clinic and insurance companies legally have 14 BUSINESS days to approve a prior authorization. It literally has zero to do with your doc or the clinic or the pharmacy. It's the insurance company. Meijer has nothing to do with it other than it being declined and being sent to the clinic to follow through. Again, legally they have 14 business days to figure it out. It sucks but it's the law. So either keep your current dose or go without until it's approved. No "partial refill" or anything like that will change the rule or law. If they don't cover it, we have to do a PA which is extremely time consuming nor do we get an answer for days. And the pharmacist nor the clinic know about it until it's submitted. It sucks but that's how it works. The only one to blame is your insurance company. Everything is based off them. The clinic nor the pharmacist have anything to do with the PA. It's not something you just sign off on. It's a huge questionnaire that can take a nurse an hour or more to do. And like I said, firs the pharmacist needs to send it to the doc which sometimes takes an act of God. Once we get it we need to find someone who has free time during short staffing. Once it's submitted, then they have 14 business days to respond (does not include weekends)
meijer brand mac and cheese
I have purchased meijer brand mac and cheese and I had opened a box to make for my children and there was no cheese sauce inside of the box. I then proceeded to check the other boxes I had purchased during that same time and two others didn't have the cheese packages either. Very disappointed! Hope this gets taken care of and this doesn't happen anymore.
meijer brand applesauce
I love the Meijer Brand applesauce. I bought it because it has no high fructose corn syrup. I buy the large plastic jar on a regular basis. I wish they would modify that jar though. It has so many crevasses in it, I cannot scrape all the applesauce out. I end up wasting at least 1/4 cup in every jar. A plain jar without the "nooks & crannies" would be much better.
hashbrowns
I have found a hair in my hash browns. I am completely disgusted by this product. This is very unsanitary and disappointing. I will never recommend these to anyone. This company needs to be way more careful. I open the package and put a few hashbrowns into the oven. I already don't feel well, and I was hoping to enjoy a small snack. I take a bite out of the hashbrowns and feel a hair in my mouth. How gross. I need a sincere apology

checkout
My local Meijer has 35 lanes, and only has the 10 self scan lanes open after 10pm with one associate to assist.
This is ridiculous when people are trying to buy $350 worth of groceries. The self checkout experience effectively makes my checkout time twice as long as it would be otherwise if not longer.
It's frustrating and makes my entire shopping experience horrible. If I'm doing all this work, that Meijer should be paying someone to do, then I would like a $15 discount for the hour I'm working for free.
customer service
I'm sick of Meijer. I may go to Kroger. Every time I come here it takes longer to checkout than to shop for hundreds of dollars of groceries. Today was special. The WHOLE checkout area was slammed with lines. 35 checkout stands and 5 real people checking people out resulting in the blind leading the blind at self checkout. People that barely have their own life together taking 20 minutes to buy $20 worth of groceries. I don't really think it's any faster to go through a line with cashiers though, with their always present lightning fast speed. It takes them about a minute per item, always concerned with getting you out the door as soon as possible. My chicken meal got cold waiting in line. I can't deal with this ineptness anymore Meijer. You may have to light a fire under some employee butts or actually have more than six employees working at one time
unethical behavior
My name is Rhonda Simmons, I ordered a custom made blanket on 12.10.2016 order #4884245. I've been calling store #129 since Monday 12.18.2016 to see if my package was delivered. Today 12.21.16 I called to check again to see if my blanket was in and was told no, but an employee went to the back and found my blanket un packaged, plastic taken off and my paper work was thrown in the trash. I feel very disrespected due to an item that was being bought from your company with my grandmother and grandfathers picture on it to be treated like it was nothing.
I am going to the store today around 4:30 to talk to a manager. I will send a picture of the blanket and how it was found as soon as I get it.
management
Your Bowling green store has a Manager in the grocery department named Ayman, he was a manager of mine at a job I had previously, but now is the manager of my girlfriend. She works in the Party Store, he has made numerous uncalled for "joking" comments as he calls it, about either her hair, her voice and numerous other things. I do not appreciate her coming to me upset and all caught up in the fact that her manager can't be professional. Just tonight he made a "joke comment" about her "raspy" voice when she has a medical condition that makes her voice sound the way it does. He was this very same way to me at my old job, he tries to be funny in such way that it is rude and intruding, and it's not professional whatsoever.
plastic grocery bags
Within the last several months I have noticed that the plastic grocery bags have gotten much thinner resulting in torn bags or having to double them up for relatively light items. I understand wanting to reduce waste but cheap bags is counterproductive for that. I end up having to use twice as many now. Sometimes being cheap isn't cost productive in the long run.
one touch meter
My doctor put a order in for a one touch meter, strips and lancets on the 21st. of November. I got an text that they didn't have it all. Then finally got 2 text messages saying it was ready so I went on Wednesday the 30th of December @ 9am. Still It was not ready so she called Algonquin they had it all. I got to Algonquin on Thursday they didn't have it all plus the wrong order was put in by Elgin. Algonquin searched the computer all they saw was lancets for my first meter. So I called Elgin to see what did they have, they had the right one but kept sending wrong info. So I had to call my doctor she put it in twice, still nothing. She had to call them and place another order. I don't like getting hung up on by Elgin but I thank Algonquin for calling them and talking to my doctor to get it right. Thank God this was not medicine they I need.
service
I don't understand why a store that is open 24 hours a day cant not stock the shelves over night.. Doing it on a Monday morning is absolutely uncalled for.. you cant even get down the aisles. Many elderly people shop during this time, there are carts, plus the handicap scooters on top of all the stock..
I have also stood in line at the deli and waited for over 10 minutes while one person tries to take care of the customers.. 2 people behind counter down at the other end.. stand there looking at us while they are putting corn dogs in a paper bag.. Seriously .. today I stood over 10 minutes while the lady was helping a customer .. I finally left... my time is valuable... and wasting it waiting for a pound of coleslaw is not worth it..
employee
So I am shopping on saturday a normal shopping trip until I encountered a employee talking crap about another shopper. I find this offensive and belitteling. You need to teach your employees so manners, the closer I got I read her name tag and it said sheena, she smelled and very rude. I guess I will go back to walmart where at least i havent heard them talking about their own customers. sickening.
checkout/ongoing issue
I shop at Meijer very frequently. It is close to where I work and is one of the few grocery stores that are open at the time I get out of work. I put up with the incessant barricading of the isles for cleaning because of the before mentioned reasons. I get it. It has to be done, though it is extremely frustrating at 11 pm. With that being said, I usually wait for an actually cashier. I don't like the idea of self check out. Its taking jobs from people. It is what it is but I don't have to participate. I rarely go to the store without spending at least $200.00. And I do this a couple of times a month usually. Another reason that I opt for an actual human to help me. Well tonight to my dismay the only check out manned by a real person was an express lane. I was unimpressed, and actually considered just leaving my cart and waking out. But then I thought about the few employees that are working at this time of night and how it is not their fault that the Meijer company is more worried about the bottom line than over all customer satisfaction. So I muscled my cart into self check out. I had to continuously stop to clear the belt, get assistance because it was taking so long, and try to bag my $260.00 worth of items on my own. Meanwhile, I went back to scan more items and my eggs, and potato chips were crushed. I was beyond irritated and the very nice man that was running the express lane (the only actual person checking people out) came over and asked what was wrong. I told him what had happened and he got me a new carton of eggs. I was upset and swore while explaining the situation. I feel terrible about that and apologized to him. Once again, it is not his fault that your company does things the way they do. With all of this being said, I have no intention of going back to Meijer. I have had enough. This isn't the first time I have been displeased. I am making it my last.
manager
Terminated by manager scott green after confronting him multiple times that I have higher senority than another team member on the morning shift and I would like to bump him for that shift. A month passes and manager scott green still refuses to do a thing for me. I informed him to once more about it and was terminated. So I spoke with union rep. Lamont williams and filed a grievance on the 26th of september 2016. October 19th 2016 I finally recieve an update that the company is saying I resigned and they refuse to go any further with the case and denied my grievance. I was told I was terminated in the store meijer #208 on september 20th 2016 by scott green. Yes terminated. Please make sure the managers you hire have brains. Was also told from a manager at a different location that nanagers can not fire you it has to be by the store director which scott green is not. Now tell me again how I was not terminated? Would also like to add how nothing was done about lower senority team members getting scheduled more hours than higher senority team members and how when I was terminated scott green told me i'm going to give him attitude after he gave me a raise. First of all that raise to $10.10 per hour that I was suppose to get never came and second that money that I should have got (Never did) did not come out of scott greens pocket so how exactly did he give me the raise? I want something done about this. I'm fired over a little confrontation when someone on the receiving team threatened to kill other team members and even a female manager and gets suspended for a couple days.? Brains.. It's nice to have one
Angry with company.. Managers and union
Seniority and day shift. Haven't heard that discussed since my dad, UAW, toolroom, big three, circa 1960. You got what you asked for. It's 2016.
service
I went into Meijer today in marion In to fill my five year old sons prescription. He was with me fever and all. Ended up spending over a hour there because an idiot "pharmacy tech" or, whatever his job title is decided to give my sons prescription to someone else! Unbelievable yes I know he never admitted it BUT the customer whos bag he put it in came back into the store a half hour later and said this isnt mines while holding up a bag...I walked up to her, looked at it and guess whos name was on it? Yea my sons! To make things better no one apologized sooo I called the manager of the store he got to the bottom of it and im glad.
pharmacy and customer service desk
Once again, today October 10, 2017, I received the same two employees, Tammy and Linda, that are truly always having a bad day.
Attempting, once again, to refill a script that was called in by our doctor was not recorded. Tammy informed me rudely it was never received and if it was it would be ready. I sat in the waiting area and called St. Joseph and was informed of the date and time that it was called in.
This is not the first or second time this has happen to our scripts.
I also picked up 2 other scripts that I had waiting for me. When I presented a $20.00 off coupon for scripts, Tammy aggressively pushed the coupon back at me and said: This is only for transfers or new scripts! I replied, oh ok, then I will use it for my husbands script that you don't have. When I told her the type of medicine that I would be returning for she responding rudely again with: That script is free and obviously if you don't pay for it you can't use a coupon.
Clearly that would make sense however, at what point in time did she think I appreciated the way she was speaking with me?
I have left the pharmacy department years ago because of the rudeness and I have no problem leaving again.
As for Linda at the service department... Today I was told NOPE when I attempted to pay my $1, 300 credit card bill. Last month I paid my bill in your store and shortly after that lost my credit card. I am still waiting for the new one to arrive and since I do not have it in my possession yet, can not pay the bill. This is the second encounter I have had with LInda. Last month I returned some expired yogurt and when I asked her a question her answer was NOPE again. I did complain to a manager and was told they would speak with her. I see her disposition has not changed.
My family spends thousands of dollars with Meijers monthly. I am finding it difficult to continue doing business with your store.
Regards,
Dawn and Jerry Conners
I am finding it difficult to believe this is your complaint.
poor judgment
My wife and I visited the meijer store in kokomo, in, (Howard county), the next day after a devistating tornado. Arriving in one of the two entrances we noticed skids of bottled water (1gal. & 24 pk) for sale for & $.89 & $ 3.98. Not only did we notice water at one entrance but both. A lot of kokomo residents were without power and water, up to 1000 homes were damaged and lost completely. You can usually purchase 24 pk water for less than $ 2, why would meijer sell water for $ 3.98, shame on you!, these people are in need of fresh drinking water, you provided the water, but at a scamming price, the manager (S) need to be fired!
Again, shame on you!
Where can you buy cases of water for under $2? We have a hurricane coming and the water is still the same price it always is: $3.98 per case.
If you want water for free, visit a FEMA tent or truck.
employee
I was just at Meijer and I witnessed an employee wearing a blue shirt (manager) yelling and pointing at an employee in a red shirt (regular) in front of another employee and a few customers along the way. The red shirt had just gotten don't helping someone and was going to wipe her hands after she had handled some red meat. She had said some kind word to the greeter and was throwing away her papers when this all took place. This wouldn't be the first time I witnessed this manager being rude to an employee or a customer either. This was at the Meijer on 10 mile in Rockford MI. She is a very unpleasant woman. She seems to only be nice when the store director is around.
deli manager steven miller
I have been a meijer customer for years and have always went to the deli . But recently since managers changed hands the deli is out dated and not stacked the way it should be. Its not fresh. And when asked why I was told that the new manager didn't order what was needed. My family and I have gotten sick from the potaoe salad and salami I will not go back to that store. The new manager was rude and hateful to the customers. In all my years I have never heard a leader talk to his workers that bad nor customers. In fact I wont be going back to Meijers store again. I will do my shopping at Krogers or Wal-mart. The date was 04-17-16, the dept number is 047 deli, ein number 2104110 Milford store 0157. I lost $60.00 in food not as well as time missed from job. In fact there should be a new manager.
