Hello my name is Rasheeda McCullough and I am Director of Business Affairs at the Forsyth YMCA. I am writing this letter to complain about an unfortunate incident that recently happened to me at your store located at 5770 Peachtree Industrial Blvd Ste 200, Norcross, GA 30071. I believe I have been sexually harassed by one of your employees.
Last Wednesday, September 18, at approximately 10:00am, I visited your store because the sensor light on my 2015 Mercedes Benz C300 indicated that my tire was malfunctioning. I was on my way to a conference in Savannah, GA. While getting my tire serviced, I was gawked, antagonized and sexually harassed by one of your employees. He made several sexual advances about what he could potentially do to me as well as how the services I was currently getting performed could come out of his paycheck. The harassment and abuse had gotten so bad another employee had taken him aside and told him that his actions were unacceptable and he should stop.
I can't even tell you how scared I have been to even write this letter. After returning to GA, thinking about it and discussing it with an attorney, coworkers and friends, I was finally convinced that I needed to say something. I have never in my life felt so little and degraded. Even writing this letter is causing me to feel extremely uneasy. I'm so disgusted.
I am writing this letter because I need to bring awareness to this issue. I can't allow this issue to be swept under the rug. There are women who endure this type of abuse daily and I need to apart of the resolution and not reporting this would only contribute to the problem. A written apology would be greatly appreciated but will never be enough. Your employees need to through a sensitivity seminar. No one should be sexually harassed at a business they are patronizing.
