I am a recent widower and I used match.com about 20+ years ago when I found my (late) wife. Back then there was "no texting"... You got someone's phone # and you called them and met up and learned about each other "in person". And that was enough. I met my (late) wife on match.com and there was not an issue. Now.. Match.com it seems is "text only". I have been on this site for a little under 3 months now. It seems to me that the "matches" I meet on here are "anything but serious in finding someone serious"... A few things happen with them. They are interested in you for about "two seconds" and if g-d forbid that you say something slightly off... Guess what..."they keep you in silence" and you just keep texting and texting and "they go offline" or what's worse "they unmatch you" or "are removed from your matches altogether" after a few minutes or the next day. The other that happens is that they talk with you for a while then bam... They "request you to lend them money or a gift card or to help with expenses, something like that" and when you refuse to help them or say that you will support them in other ways (emotional, physical, etc). They "get offended by that as well". You don't hear from that at all or they "go silent again". And if you happen to give them your cell phone #... The same stuff happens on your text messages on your phone... I will say this about match.com..."it's not good!" and its definitely "not what it was 20 years ago" when finding someone on there was "much easier" and "much less complicated" I have other sites I am still using now, but unfortunately I might have to keep using them for now. I really don't like dating apps but in my situation... I need to use whatever resources I can including dating apps like match.com. I felt I should post this honest review because according to most reviews match.com is "supposed to be one of the best"... I strongly disagree with that review... Strongly! Sf
