We purchased a woman suit jacket. When it arrived we saw that it was poorly made and did not fit. We returned it and had to wait for more than 2 weeks for a refund.
We had $59.87 taken from our bank account for the purchase. We were only refunded $46.43.
Lord & Taylor made a profit of $13.44 for a poorly made, defective garment. Not only did they deduct additional shipping, but they also kept the $3.92 sales tax when there was no sale. There was extra money also deducted that had no explanation.
This company, as far as I am concerned , is nothing more than a rip off, unprofessional company that no one should do any business with.

Issue with loyalty points redemption
I have been a Lordandtaylor store customer for over 20 years.
There was never any reason to complain about the quality of the product or service.
Lordandtaylor has always been my #1 store.
Today I ran into a problem that, by its very nature, shouldn't be a problem at all!
I have accumulated 445 points from previous purchases.
For over an hour I have been trying to redeem these points for my purchase today.
Asked for help from consultants, Help desk.
Nobody Knows Nothing!
You see, they need 24-48 hours to solve the problem!
I will lose all my items during this time as the quantity of each item is very limited!

By calling the number listed on their site, I got an ad for something to do with healthcare and what a special deal they had for me today! I have no idea what that had to do with L&T. When I said I wasn’t interested in knowing about this deal, the woman continued talking over me. It’s obviuos that L&T is no longer run by the same group. What a farce of a website!
It takes forever to receive a refund, and I have read from other reviewers that they never received theirs. All I wanted to do today was to cancel their emails, but the link provided led me to a site called bluecore.com that all my browsers tell me is non-existent.
Stay far, far away from this new Lord &Taylor!

The box was left in front of my apartment door, completely opened and an item was missing. I am requesting assistance as soon as possible. Thanks.

We are asking for your patience and understanding as we resolving this matter."

Returns site does not work
I tried five times this morning (10/8/21) to make a return online to Lord and Taylor (consumer order number 18392620). The return site, which is a third party, let me locate the item to return, asked the reason for the return and then just stoppped. The only link on the page is not live and just loops around to the "Do you want to make a return page — the opening screen. It is impossible to complete a return. Customer service numbers are out of service and the"chat service" is a robot. No human available anywhere and the difficulty in even locating help on the site leads me to believe that this company is doing everything possible to keep customers from returning items. I want to be able to make my return — I have no intention of keeping a $200 item I do not want. Thank you.

The package delivered contains the wrong belt. The belt received is a black Cole Haan belt. The receipt in the box reflects Reversible Leather Belt. It has UPC 084971005271.

I have been complaining for the past month and a half and I have not received any answer. My order was placed in October. Order number [protected]. I contacted customer service quite a few times, I was lucky to talk to somebody twice but nobody has solved my issue. Out of my order, I only got a pair of jeans. My order was 2 pair of jeans for my husband, a swimsuit and hair clips for my daughter.

I order a 223.00 necklace from them, on the 2nd of october, never received the item, it was shipped through fed ex, as of this day it's still showing that it is in transit, call customer service to get a refund, I was told it would take 14 business days to receive the refund, today is november 18, still haven't gotten my refund, every time I call they tell me the same thing I sent an email to my supervisor and you should be getting your refund, customer service is not worth calling, I have stayed on the line up to 5 hours to get through, this is ridiculous, I ask the customer service rep, why do you how to wait so long on line, she said they had a lot of customers calling, I don't believe that.

$1, 459.68! I used my debit card to place 2 orders on November 13,
2020. Since my debit card was used, the transaction costs were immediately (and correctly) debited from my Checking Account. Order 1 ($416.12) had a total of 6 items. Order 2 ($210.32)
The following day, after I checked out online, Lord & Taylor sent 6 different email notifications stating that PART of my order was being shipped. Each email included a photo and the price of the item(s) that was being shipped, and the total order cost for the corresponding order was quoted at the bottom of the message. I noticed that each time I received an email, a corresponding DEBIT appeared in my checking account! The new charge wasn't for the cost of the item being shipped, it was a backwards accounting charge that indicated the REDUCED BALANCE of my original purchase cost, AFTER the Cost of the item (that was Shipped) had been Deducted from the original transaction total. For some reason, Lord & Taylor CHARGED the New, Reduced balance TO MY DEBIT CARD (which immediately appears in my checking account). was already paid in full on 11/13/20). THIS HAPPENED EVERY TIME THEY SHIP PART OF MY ORDER. Each time, a new charge is posted to my debit card!
For clarification: Order #1 is $462.12.
On 11/14 at 2:02 PM I received 1 of 6 emails stating that they shipped a dress (RACHEL Rachel Roy Marcella Floral-Print Sheath Dress Black Combo: $59.50). I received an alert from my bank Re: a charge to my debit card for for $399.05 ( = cost of dress + tax from the shipping state). THEY CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $399.05 TO MY CHECKING ACCOUNT! Later that day at 4:15 PM I received partial shipment email notification #2 (of 6 emails) about a partial shipment: Dress The Population Liza Sequined Slit-Sleeve A-Line Dress: $49.60. My debit card was charged -346.47 (the balance after the cost of the dress + tax from the shipping state.
I get another partial shipping notification email #3 (of 6 emails) at 4:37 PM for Partial shipment of Tadashi Shoji Sequin-Embellished V-Neck Gown $97.00. That was followed by a text alert from my bank regarding a NEW debit charge of $243.65, which was posted to my checking account (the balance of my original purchase after the cost of $97 + tax was deducted).
I frantically logged in to my Lord & Taylor account to check my order history. I only saw the 2 orders that I had placed the night before (2 days ago on Friday, November 13, 2020). I suspected that my debit card may have been compromised. I called my bank to ask about this to find out if these new charges were "Holds" on my card? Were they accounting adjustments from Lord & Taylor? Were the charges actually scheduled to debit my account? Does the Clearing House show any reversals in progress? The bank representative and I were trying to figure it out. It appears that these charges may be incorrectly programmed adjustments on the Lord & Taylor side, that for some reason were charged to me. If ANYTHING, I should have received CREDITS in the amount of the cost of the garment - NOT an ADDITIONAL DEBIT for an item that I paid for 2 days ago on Friday, November 13, 2020.
While I was still on the phone with my bank, at 718 PM, I received ANOTHER shipping email notification # 4 (of 6 emails) Re: partial shipment of RACHEL Rachel Roy Lynette Off-The-Shoulder Sheath Dress $55.60. That was followed with a text alert from my bank reflecting another debit charge of $188.05 (the balance after the cost of the dress + tax was been deducted from my original purchase of $462.12).
THEN, at 7:35 PM, I received ANOTHER partial shipment notification # 5 (of 6 emails) regarding Order #2 (which originally cost $210.32 - Paid on November 13th): Tahari Arthur S. Levine Long-Sleeve Velvet Jacket ($63.60) - followed by a text alert from my bank re: a debit charge for $142.90.
At 7:49 PM I receive the 6th partial shipment email notice (also for Order #2) stating that Tahari Arthur S. Levine Velvet Slim Pants ($35.60) were shipped - followed w/ a text alert from my bank that a debit charge of $105.16 was posted to my checking account. THE TOTAL N-E-W CHARGES TO ON MY DEBIT CARD = $1, 459.68 (American Dollars)!
Oh, and THAT'S NOT ALL! Last month I placed 2 orders on October 24, 2020 and another order on October 31, 2020. THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH THOSE ORDERS TOO, however my bank ALSO suspected fraud and closed my previous debit card to prevent additional purchases. NOW that I've figured out what they're doing, I will have my bank go back and force Lord & Taylor to Restore the $3, 560.55 of BOGUS duplicate charges for those transactions as well!
What the Hell is Going On with their accounting department? THESE charges are ON TOP of my original expense of $462.12 (for Order #1) and $210.32 (for Order #2) which were BOTH PAID IN FULL on Friday, November 13, 2020. In the fine print of the Lord & Taylor email communications the fine print states: "If you have any questions regarding your order, please reply to this email or contact customer service from 7am - 2am EST, 7 days a week, at 1.800.223.7440." Of course after receiving the first message, I immediately called the phone number, to receive the recording" Thank you for calling Lord & Taylor. We are CLOSED. Normal business hours are Monday - Friday..." This time, I asked my bank not to close my current debit card until after I reach someone at Lord & Taylor customer service and/or their Billing department. The email also states, "If you have any questions regarding your order, please reply to this email..." I tried to respond to the email communications.
The email's came from: < Lord + Taylor [[protected]@e.lordandtaylor.com] > . I responded to report the accounting error. I received a response from: [protected]@comcast.net stating:
"This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
Delivery to the following recipients failed permanently:
* [protected]@lordandtaylor.com
Reason: Permanent Error"
I understand what's happening. All of the additional charges that were posted, are adjustments that should NEVER have posted to my debit card. The adjustments should only have remained on Lord & Tailor's back end accounting - NOT presented as AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE TO MY DEBIT CARD! Just think, if I had used my Credit Card, I would NOT have been Aware of this issue, until the following month - after my credit card statement had been issued!
THIS IS ESPECIALLY HORRIBLE, BECAUSE THE STORE IS CLOSED OVER THE WEEKEND! I made 2 purchases on Friday NIGHT (11/13/ 2020). There are 2 EXPENSIVE items that still haven't been shipped yet! As of today, Sunday, November 15, 2020, I have ALREADY been overcharged $1, 459.68! Now there are 2 items from Order #1, which remain to be shipped. This means that Lord & Taylor may charge ADDITIONAL costs to my debit card/ checking account! THERE IS NO WAY TO REACH CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE WEEKENDS! THERE'S NO WAY TO STOP THE ADDITIONAL CHARGES! I found that OTHER people are reporting accounting errors as well. Many of those customers think that their credit cards were compromised. Won't honor gift card
I have a $200 gift card from 1995 that was printed on thermal paper and has a certificate number on it. The company won't accept it. It clearly states on the paper gift card that the is "no expiration date" and "the value of the gift card does not represent a deposit or an account". It also says, "valid tender for purchase". I have taken the paper gift card to several stores to try and redeem it for merchandise before the store closes but they refuse to honor the gift card. This, I know was an old gift card but because it had no expiration date, I lost track of the card and it sat in a safe for 25 years. I now want to use it before the store closes. Can someone help me!

I ordered a bottle of flowerbomb perfume on the internet on October 9, 2020. I paid for the purchase partially with a gift card of $100. and put the balance on my credit card in the amount of $54. I received the perfume on the 21st and opened the package on the 23rd. The sprayer does not work and I called Lord and Taylor for a replacement. The call went to the Philipines and I waited for over an hour before reaching them. They wanted a copy of the bottle thinking I used the 3 oz bottle in two days and offered me a $20. gift card to Lord and Taylor. First of all, why would I ever take a gift card and the perfume was over $150. to begin with. I have read many other complaints about merchandise people purchased and if you have been scammed by Lord and Taylor I believe a class action should be started. It is pure stealing.

Bought perfume on line with gift card and credit card $155. Opened package and spray was broken. Called and took two hours to answer. They refused to do anything but offer me$20 gift card to lord and Taylor. Who would even want it. Just wanted an exchange. No response. BEWARE. They are thieves. Take your money and deliver inferior merchandise. They were in the phillipines and could care less. Asked for supervisor but of course non was available. The ‘K' a part of the logo on the bag looked crooked/not aligned properly in relation to the other letters. A piece of it eventually broke off. I either want my money back or a new bag! Double billing for same items. My credit card was immediately debited from my account at the time I placed the order for the amount of the 4 items I had ordered. This was in September 17. Amount of $136.70. Then in September 19, my card was again charged for 2 of the items that I had already been charged for. $117.88. Tried calling Customer Service and was on hold for over 2 hours. Tried emailing address on website and email was returned as undeliverable invalid email address.
My experience is similar only to the tune of $417.00 for a dress that Lord & Taylor refused to accept as a return...they said it was worn (it was not) and that tags were missing (I removed no tags). Speaking to customer service is worthless; no response from email; store return was refused regardless that it was printed on the invoice...
My bank tried to resolve but was stonewalled by Lord & Taylor.

I ordered crosses and received them around 3/19/2020. Per
Lord and Taylor policy, I have 14 days to return them. I
went to the store on 3/20/2020 to return the items and I
was not able to return them because Lord and Taylor was
closed due to COVID-19. I kept going back to Lord and
Taylor multiple times but they remained closed for months.
Finally, I went back to Lord and Taylor on June 1st to
return both crosses and I was told that it was over the 14
days return policy. I have tried multiple times to get a
