I had a leaf water softener system installed earlier this year. One thing I noticed was that the exterior water hydrant was leaking when the installers left. Not knowing a lot about plumbing I didn’t realize these installers did some shade tree stuff. The hydrant was a frost free version and was either soldered or threaded in. Upon closer inspection once we needed to winterize it. I purchased a rebuild kit but noticed they had replaced the back part of the hydrant with just a plain pex type T, so the front of the hydrant had nothing to screw into. This is now become a huge problem for me, because I’m a long way out in the country and no plumbers will come out to make the repair. I’m very upset with these folks and their installers. Plus I question whether the softener is doing anything. There is hardly any water in the large basin. I recommend you do not do business with these folks at all.
Claimed loss: I’m out of pocket for new handle, valve rebuild and my time. It’s only $100 out of pocket
Desired outcome: I want them to come fix this. I cannot even protect it from freezing. If it blows my pipes and floods my crawl space I’m suing these people for the damages
