As senior citizens, we are now the owners of a $9,000 water softener system that should have cost us $4,300 due to misrepresentations made in our home, a situation bordering on financial exploitation.
The representations made in the Leaf Home Water Solutions brochure and the statements of the water tester/salesman Nelson Storre, has created a situation for which we have begun to investigate a solution. The company sent someone who did not “We use precise, advanced digital testing to show you exactly what’s in your water. So we can create a plan to tackle every issue.” “Advanced Digital Testing. Our highly trained experts use a state-of-the-art digital photometer, Water View™, to analyze the water in different areas of your home. We’ll reveal what’s in your water, in two minutes or less.” “Our process is simple and straightforward. Our experts test the water in your home. And build a custom solution that improves the taste, look, and safety of your water.” His recommendation was to filter the water to avoid adding a new softener, which we did.
Other water treatment companies have confirmed that the statements made by the brochure and the salesperson along with the personal assertions of Leaf Home Water Systems, LLC-WGRL management that no-one in the local salesforce has ever recommended a $7,000 water filter system when the hard water test results are over 16 gpg. Extremely hard water, as you know, is a hardness above 10.5 gpg.
As we recall, you stated that you wished the salt free filter systems were not being offered or sold in our area at all.
We have yet to find one water treatment specialist who would recommend anything other than a water softener solution utilizing time tested brine softener system. Just a filter will not reduce the hardness or spots on glasses and stains on clothing, as claimed in person and in print.
We will accept our own ignorance in listening to the sales pitch and the the claims in the Leaf Home brochure and online web claims. We provided the salesman with visual insight to the residue from our pre-existing softener on a brand new composite deck system. We fully understood the residue would clear up with the new salt free system.
In hindsight, we should have called for quotes on replacing the ion exchange tank from a local company with a proven track record.
Installed Filter 9/11/24 replaced Filter with Softener 1/23/25.
