I booked a room at the Lufkin TX La Quinta for 2/15/26 leaving 2/16/26. Unfortunately I did not check the date and when I showed up to the hotel, they couldn't find my reservation. I had booked a night for for 2/14-15, so I lost my nights cost of the room and 3000 pts. It was my mistake.
I went to the front desk asked if there was anything I could do and the lady basically said no, can't help you. I asked if there was any vacancies as I just finished driving 16 hours. So I paid for another room for the night.
First room, the heater did not work an they had replaced it with a space heater which I say is extremely dangerous. The light above the desk did not work, there was no plug in the bathtub to stop the water, there was no internet as when attempting to connect, I would get and error indicating that there was not an http: connection which makes you susceptible to hackers.
The second room: the heater did work and no space heater. There was no plug in the bathtub, the chair at the desk was broken down and leaned precariously where I was afraid to use it.
This hotel is extremely in need of repair, and I believe is subpar for the La Quinta brand. It's the older style hotel with the doors facing the parking lot, reminds me of Motel 6.
I stay at La Quinta's when traveling because they are 'normally' of good quality and I don't mind paying the extra for this piece of mind, however this hotel ruined that preconception for me. Normally my stays at La Quinta have been great, not so much with this one. I willl do much more research before ever booking a room at La Quinta.
