On Saturday, July 27, 2019 around 10:30 @ 31300 Michigan avenue, Westland, Mi 48186, I attempted to pay a $28.80 food charge by check, check # 1612. I presented the check to the "self check-out" cashier along with my "enhanced" Michigan driver's license. My name was printed on the check. My address was not printed on the check. The bank, whose name is printed on the check, Chase, allows its customers to have checks printed without the customer's address for "security" reasons. This is a common practice. The cashier and store manager denied acceptance of the check because the check did not have my address on the check. The cashier, nor store manager, made no attempt to pass the check through the "check" machine attached to the register. The store manager on duty added that "The store does not accept starter checks". This check was not a starter check, as indicated by a check number listed in the 1600s. I patronize that store on a regular basis and do believe I have paid by there before.I charged the $28.80, which I did not inted to do & left disgruntled. bob franczak @ [protected]@wowway.com
