Knott's Berry Farm review: Security

Yesterday, April 12, 2025 my family and I visited Knotts Berry Farm. We frequently visit as we are continuous pass holders. I must say I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the security you had last night. I came across a young child around 8-9-years-old being physically and verbally abused by what seemed to be a female family member. She was NOT her mother, that I am sure of. I did not step in ONLY because I had my young children with me and did not want it to escalade. With that being said, the abuse was so foul and disturbing; Enough for my young daughter to ask me if she can run and bring it to securities attention as I monitored the situation. At this point the adult in the situation noticed I was close by and made eye contact with the child. She then started to try to force the child to leave the park. As I follow closely behind them, I run into the nearest shop and ask for them to call security and explained the situation. The child would stop and try to get someone's attention every so often. The child seemed VERY uncomfortable and was trying to kick and push the adult away as she was reaching for her neck and threatening to "beat her [censored]ing [censored] and pick her up and throw her in the trash can upside down". As we wait for security for 10+ minutes myself, others and vendors can hear this woman yelling, threatening the child nonstop. As I know Knotts Berry Farm is a family-oriented place and written in their Code of Conduct it does state "The safety of our guests and associates has always been our top priority". That statement is CLEARLY NOT CORRECT... Once security did show up (I was still following behind) they allowed this adult to walk out of the park with the child after watching her continue to verbally abuse her. As security did not at least TRY to protect this child, I left the park and tried to keep up with the adult and child. With it being close to closing unfortunately I lost them in the crowd. This child's safety is now at risk even more so now.. I believe you should have more security INSIDE the park instead of OUTSIDE CHECKING BAGS. The safety of others especially children inside your park should be TOP priority NOT catching a few outside drinks or food.
