Approximatelu Apr. 4th through 14th 2026.
I took my 2021 Kia into thw Kia dealer on Apr4th =/- because my service motor indicator was flashing. The service tech advised me not to drive it and later that day told me I would need a new motor.
Earlier that same day ehile I was getting an oil change at Jiffy Lube, the tech there offered to check with their diagnostic computer.
The computer said the problem was related to a two year old recall issue with the rings.
At the time of the recall my car was in the Kia collisiln shop on Wingmill Rd. in Halifax and I asked them to do the recall check as well while it was there.
When I picked up my car I inquired about the recall and was told it was good.
Then two years later I lose my motor to the issue described in the recall and Kia agreed to replace the motor free. However the refused to provide me with a courtesy car saying it wasn't in my warranty.
I did a car report from carfax and discovered the recall was still open and the report also claimed Kia had replaced my motor at that time, an oxymoron for sure. I informed customer complaints and wad rudely snoffed by the service reps I spoke to.
I believe that Kia made a mistake concerning the recall in that the recall is still open and the motor was not replaced and the recall was not done when it should have been making Kia responsible to refund the !000.00$C it cost me to rent a vehicle to get to work sme 30 Km from my residence.
I just the 1K refunded. This is my 3rd KIa. Now quite likely the last!
Claimed loss: =/- 1000$C
Desired outcome: Refund my money for the rental
