I placed a pick up order on Sunday and my Premier Protein, which had a special sale for pick up, was missing. I called the store and they said they would mark it for me to pick up later. I also wanted the Eckrich reduced fat hard salami, which they were out of. I made another trip to the store today to pick up the Premier Protein, which they brought up from the back, so that was good.
When I stopped by the deli, they said they now had the reduced fat hard salami, so I ordered it. She never asked how I wanted it sliced, and I didn't catch her in time to say I wanted it shaved. I put it in my cart, and went with her to get a bucket of tenders that are on sale for $9.99 for 2.5lbs of chicken. While she was filling the bucket, I took a look at the hard salami which was not the reduced fat and was marked as another brand. She insisted it was the right salami, just the wrong brand on the label. It was not, as I have purchased this brand in reduced fat for years. She again insisted it was correct and I informed her that I didn't want it.
Walking away I looked at the tender bucket and it seemed too light. I walked to the produce department and weighed it. It came in at 2.15 lbs., container and all. The label says 2.8lbs, I assume to cover the weight of the bucket. I went back to the deli, and asked for more tenders. I was waited on by a guy, whom I have never seen before, so new I assume. He was diligent to make sure he weighed it at 2.5 lbs., with no allowance for the container. He ended up adding 3 nice sized tenders.
Additionally, when I returned home, a 10 minute drive, the tenders were barely warm, so I am thinking they were from yesterday.
You have to do better than this.
You’re not being picky — you’re paying attention, and that’s exactly what customers should do. The missing protein, wrong salami (with an employee arguing with you about a brand you’ve bought for years), underweight tenders, and then barely warm chicken? That’s multiple failures on one trip. Good catch on weighing the bucket yourself — that’s not petty, that’s verifying what you paid for. The new guy actually fixing the weight gives me a tiny bit of hope, but the rest is just exhausting. You shouldn’t have to audit every item like this. Jewel needs to do better, full stop.
