manager
My wife and I like to go eat breakfast at the location on Merchants Dr. in knoxville TN, but we've reconsidered the last time we were their due to us not being able to hear each other speak thanks to the manager in the kitchen yelling at everyone, no complaints on the food and waitress, their always wonderful, but last 2 times we were their we were shocked at what we overheard this woman saying to her workers and her tone. WE WILL NOT dine there if she is there ever again! Great job to servers, horrible job to manager, really should be embarrassed by her vocab, no one deserves to be talked to like she talked to her workers, My wife and I feel pity for workers around her, again I will be back only if she's not there

disgusting employee
In April 09, my husband & 2 other couples came to the restaurant & we noticed the cook, was outside smoking a cigarette, with a dirty, disgusting, apron on. When our waitress came over we all kindly asked her, to make sure the cook (Dave) washed his hand & if he could change to a clean apron. No problem, said the waitress & she kinda agreed. She notice how...

I and my husband went to Ihop today and the waitress was just so amazing.
It took her 10 mins to get refill so my husband had to go another waiter to get refill.
He was nice enough to get us refill even though it's wasn't his job.
And when we finnaly got the food, hash brown wasn't cooked.
So we asked her to cook it more, we got burned hash brown and she just walked away.
We decided to talk with manager and we found out the waitress asked for the "EXTRA EXTRA CRISPY"
which we never said. So he offered us new food.
He was really nice and tried to make things work but still the waitress didn't even come to our table.
Our glass was empty and she finally came to our table and gave us check.
I was really getting angry that time and asked her if we can get a refill since it was empty for 10 mins.
Guess what she said. "Oh, I'm busy"
It really got us pissed and we walked to the kichen and talk to her and manager.
Still she was saying if we want respect, we need to respect first.
All we asked us refill and served properly and that's what she said.
So the manager came out, voided our order and apologized.
He even offered us to take the food so we can eat at home.
But we didn't feel like standing there more and were so angry.
Everything was nice except the waitress "Vannessa".

service - food and night manager-bob
I ordered strawberry, bananna pancake and ham. the pancake were dry and the ham was not cooked. we requested the manager (Bob ) night shift.. first of all a manager is the highest position that night. If a customer has a complaint the manager is suppose to listen, instead he came over with an chip on his shoulder . in all my experience, i have never met a manager that did not or would not listen to his customers. I was not a money issue.. we can afford to pay for our food plus everyone that was in the resturant that night... i will not be eating there again in my life time - very poor managers skill.. he should be fired..

Yet somehow, life goes on.
threat against one's life
supervisor made threat against employee with knife, then her husband came to job site and told the man he would kill him. this supervisor has a long history of throwing threats around at the cooks and waiters. They are all afraid of her because she claims she will fire them. She humiliates them in front of customers and coworkers. Enough is enough! Shes should be fired after today. The police had to be called at this location and customers started to walk out. Some employees left and said they weren't returning to work. The owner needs to do something real fast before this gets way out of hand. It's gone too far already.

The Tutsis are getting their hands cut off and you're complaining about a knife "threat". Geesh. What an ingrate.
Are you sure she wasn't doing some skit-based learning? Like maybe how to fend off a knife-wielding customer?
poor service/sanitation/lack of items
On Sunday April 5th after the evening service, a group (22 people)from our church went to IHOP at 7609 Mountain Grove in South Knoxville (as we usually do) at 7:30 pm. We have noticed over the past three weeks that the quality of service has been declining, but it was usually something small that we would just overlooked.
This past Sunday, we noticed that the business sign out front was not on, the parking lot lights were not on but saw people inside and decided to go in anyway. Big mistake.
Six of us were led to a booth only large enough for four people. When we asked for a larger table we were seated at a dirty table that was then wiped off by our waitress using a soured towel
with a bleach solution that left the table stinking, and even she commented about the odor. We then had to ask for napkins to wipe off the wet table to prevent the bleach from damaging our clothes.
We then proceeded to order, or tried to. Five of the first six things ordered were not available. No beef tips, sourdough bread, Belgian
waffles (but we were told by our servers that they had some frozen waffles that were ("better than our own"), lemon for iced tea, roasted potatoes, ... Then our coffee was brought out in styrofoam cups because they had " no clean coffee cups". Then half way through the meal the waitress informed us that if we were going to be paying with credit cards she needed to get them early since the "machine is acting up, and may take a while to work".
We have patronized this IHOP almost every week since it opened because of the lack of restaurants in South Knoxville. We have come to the conclusion that this one must be closing soon as well.
If that isn't their intention, something needs to happen soon, because people will not only stop patronizing this location, but the reputation of every IHOP will suffer as well.
very nasty and rude
As my husband, child, and I entered the door @ ihop the morning of 2/19/09 we never got greeted it was only asked booth or table.. we sat down and server never stated her name or anything just walked away.. about 5 minutes later she came and asked what we would like to drink my husband asked for coffee never did she offer a pot of it.. my child and I dranked sweet tea.. about 5 minutes later my husband had to yell "hey miss excuse me" can I have some water she brought a glass of water to the table and the glass was "very nasty" it looked like it had dried up boogers on it.. we had to get her attention again to bring antother glass of water due to that was nasty.. she finally did and asked what did we wana order not are you ready to order... we ordered and was sitting speaking amongst ourselves 30 minutes passed we finally got our food, the people that came in 10 minutes after us got theirs before us.. opened the silverware to eat and couldnt had to goo thru 3 sets and put the 3rd in a mug of hot water to clean before could eat with it.. do have pics of the nasty silverware and also have time of all that occured.. server was very rude, nasty, and acted as she didnt want to wait on anyone, over heard her say she needed to hurry up and go on break to smoke.. this is very rude and beleive me you will never have to worry bout me eating in another ihop.. this was not our first down fall with ihop but will be our last.. I would not care how many coupons, nor how much money you try to give back on this its not worth my time.. I would rather take the $30 I spent in there and eat a loaf of bread and bologna.. hope somebody has better luck with ihop than I did..
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Perhaps the loaf of bread and bologna is better for you than IHOP. u are probably black and not gonna tip her why would she wait on ur nasty [censor]? no reason for it. it seems like you knew all about copons and discounts so you have to be black who complains about food at ihop all the time... go eat at dennys or waffle house [censor]
cleanliness of restaurant
I was at the IHOP on 31st and Cicero in Chicago, IL. Everything was fine at first other than it being cold inside. We got our food... which was mediocre. My scrambled eggs looked more like an egg pancake. And the pancakes were hot when they got to the table, but because it was so cold in the restaurant they became cold within seconds. The worst part was when I was halfway done with my meal. I hear this horrible sound... ripping and sawing. Then I realize they are right beside me pulling up the old carpet from the floor. The sawing noise sounded as if it were coming from the kitchen. I was totally disgusted. When I left the floor was littered with scraps and particles from the carpet that was pulled up. No on that worked there seemed to care... they just walked around it and kept going. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
since IHOP is a 24 hour facility.. it is a LITTLE acceptable. the only thing you really can do is section off a couple of tables at a time and work there.. but that would cut back and make people wait irritably long amounts of time. either way, someones gonna be mad.
you may not like it.. but its no reason for you to flat out complain about them. they were simply just doing maintanance on the store.. Like i said the only thing they could have done is section off tables at a time
bad service
Monday night my man was taking me out to one of my favorite restrantants that I haven't been to in awhile. When we got there we waited less than 5 minutes before we were seated. But we had a waitress that had only been there for 5 days and was working on the sales floor alone with 3 or 4 other servers. But theres where all the problems began. After we...

Managers are always mistreating the employees and its ok with the bosses of them it seems because I was emloyeed with them over 3 yrs and half of the store is going thru the same thing and when I defended myself I got terminated.. one of the mngrs is even on a saved message on my phone cursing me out while intoxicated... they r going lawsuit thru lawsuit and act like they have no idea why...
I've worked at the same location IHOP and have the same feelings. Terrible management to say the least, and they go through employees every week because of it. I've never been so disrespected by my employers and am upset with the maltreatment I've suffered. Also, the managers have cursed out customers and have no idea how to run a business.
I have worked at ihops now for 2 1/2 years.as with any job it sucks.people write to corporate, some complain about not getting there hashbrowns well done.about not getting a straw, or that were not right there up their ###.maybe we should stand there with a napkin wiping their faces while they eat.you people complaining about every little thing calling the manager or e-mailing corporate, you people come in when its screaming busy and exspect servive to be the best.we well i work my butt off for you people im nice when i want to scream in your face, hurry up and order ive got 4 other tables that are real pain in the butt.so why dont you people try to be nice to, oh ya how about tipping us we run for you you people dont get it we dont get 10 bucks an hour we get 5 bucks!tip tip tip then youll get good service
poor service/bad management
My wife and I were treated like dirt when we entered this establishment. It was as if we were not welcomed in this establishment. First of all, we just wanted to go orders so we stood at the front counter for approximately 5-10mins., before anyone asked if we wanted to order something. When the waitress, with no name tag, asked if we were waiting long but heard us walk in, it was like a slap in the face. Upon taking our order, she begin have a bad attitude with my wife and refused to help with a basic consumer question. Upon deciding that we were the only African-American customers in the place, we begin to feel as if we were not wanted in this establishment. Upon canceling my order with the Manager, I observed that he was not wearing a name tag and knew exactly what I had ordered. I have never felt so violated in my life and I am a big IHop fan but this episode has ruined the joy of IHOP for me and my wife. This incident happened at approximately 0430 hours on 1/11/09 and I just had to let it be known.

I wont be back to this establishment again, the service is poor, the servers stad behide the wall thinking that no one can hear the coments they are saying about us, I was very put off by a female server and the lady that was in charge, I think she was called Kaylene or something to that nature, she was bad mouthing the guest, and using profanity, I wont bring my buisness back to that reataurant again, the food was great but the service is very poor, Angies is where I will go from this point on
I went to the IHOP (Atlanta) in Buckhead on Peachtree at about 11pm with family after an outing. When we arrived the outer apperence was shaby but we were hungry. Since we all agreed on this place we stayed. When we walked in it was very hot then when we ordered our drinks the waitar did not return with them for until promped. Then she took out food order and some food was burned, cold, and rotton. We tried to be patient with the staff. But you wouldnt believe that things got worst. We had to ask for the bill and when it came it was on e big bill, we were never asked how we would pay. So I told hte waitar that since it was two seprate bill and asked her to split it. She told me that after 10pm that they print one check per table. The she told me that she would give us a pencil and paper to figure up the totals. When we told her that we were not going to do that she told us she would call the police. We just sit down and waited. Well she called and told the police that we refued to pay. Then we told them and it want like that that we just wanted seprate tickets. Needless to say she had to print seprate tickets. To top it off our waitar was the manager and her attitude was bad. All I can say Never eat there!
I asked for never ending pancakes with apples and whipcream. I didn't find out until I got them that I would be charged a dollar for the toppings. Not only that but I would have to pay another dollar each time I asked for more pancakes. Didn't get anymore pancakes. I wish I had just ordered the special pancakes for 1 more dollar than the never ending pancake. I would have got 4 pancakes and no extra charge. I really loved IHOP and now I am really turned off. I did let them know about it and he looked at me like well that's the way it is. The serves was slow and the new guy didn't know what to do. I assume he is new anyway.
Went to IHop the waitress ask us what we would like to drink, we said diet coke, she replied, were out of diet coke, but we have coke zero, which was fine, we then placed our order, she then replies, were out of these foods, so she gives a long list of other food items they were out of. so i said, ok, i will take a hamburger and fries, she takes our order back to the kitchen, within a couple of min's she comes to our table and replies "your not going to believe this, were out of hamburger patties too.. I have no desire to go back. this company should have never ran out of food, it was the day after christmas.. there was a couple that was sitting close by and they turned to us and said we had to order breakfast, because they did not have what we wanted... I do want to say, the waitress was very kind...
On Wednesday September 9, 2017 We took our daughter and son in law to ihop to have supper. My husband and I have never been there before and wanted to try something different.
Jonathan asked our waiter if they had chicken fried steak, he replyed yes, he again said chicken not steak. The waiter than answered again yes. When our food arrived and he took a bite he quickly said this is steak (he does not eat steak). We finally got the waiter back to our table and Jonathan told him that it was steak not chicken. The waiter said well that is what we call chicken! He then said let me get the manager.
It took several minutes for him to arrive at our table. Jonathan then explained the conversation to him.
The manager then replyed We dont have country fried chicken. Jonathan said again, you dont understand what I am trying to say. I asked the waiter twice if he had it and he said yes! Thats why I ordered it. The manager then said what do you want me to do about it I told you we dont have chicken. At this time I spoke up and said he would like something else, he said o.k. what.
Jonathan said a bacon cheeseburger only with no sides.
He turned to walk away and I said we also need refills on our drinks they have been empty for a while. As he walked away he said he would take the steak off our bill but we would still have to pay for the burger. I said fine.
At this time everyone had finished there meals and we were waiting on the burger.
Oh, by the way we never got refills. We finally got the attention of the hostest and she got them for us.
Jonathan`s burger and our bill arrived at the same time.
I asked the waiter why the burger was $7.99 if he didn`t want any sides with it. He replyed it was the same price with or without. Don`t you think the manager should of told us that. He just shrugged his shoulders.
At this time we were all frustrated and ready to leave. Jonathan did not eat his burger and we left. My husband did leave a tip (against my advice) and we payed our bill and left. I would tell you the managers name but he had no name tag and never told us. We wont be back!

I am a server at this particular IHOP and just wanted to let everyone know that this place is a zoo! The management here is horrible. The place itself is dirty as hell! It got so bad that customers were walking out talking about how bad it smelled and how nasty the restrooms were. Even though i do enjoy the pancakes, i would strongly reccomend that you go a different IHOP if you would like to keep eating IHOP food! The cooks smoke in the kitchen, don't wear anything to keep hair from falling into the food, and sexually harass the servers. I get complaints everyday about the quality of the food and the GM ONLY hires females that he considers "pretty" or has a "nice ###". They are a bunch of perverts. Please think long and hard about going to this IHOP before you leave your home expecting a nice breakfast!
My family and i went to the ihop in easley south carolina the food was awful and so was the service. the eggs were like eating rubber and the pancakes were burnt. we had to wait a hour on our food no refills on drinks unless we asked. the waitress would walk by and act like she didnt see we needed drinks. we were not the only family that had a problem. they really need to get there act together. we will never be back to that place again
I don't work at any restaurant, or fast food. What I want to say is that by eating in these places, and one particular, Ihop on Williams Blvd, Kenner La, the lousy customers that I have witnessed to some of the waitresses, get away with it. The managers make the waitresses apologize to the ignorant customer, when the customer started it for nothing. I believe they should be new policies in every restaurant, if the customers starts it for nothing, kick their a.. out. Why should hard working waitresses have to take crap twice, from the customers and the managers. The reason I care, is because I have a heart, and a conscious, which most of you on here don't. Have some respect for the workers. To all you managers, get off your high horse and respect your employers, they work hard,
Employees are often asked to work shifts such as 4 PM to 5 AM. They are given little to no notice of their schedule. Often times employees will receive calls or text messages 2 hours before a shift to inform them that they are scheduled to work, and this is while there is absolutely no schedule posted. Overall, this establishment is run very poorly, but employees are frustrated due to the disrespect they receive from management which creates an environment of workers harboring deep seeded resentment toward those who are supposed to manage them but aren't.
Can anything be done?
I visited IHOP #5514 on 4/18/11 at noon. A woman outside near the newspaper stand shared with me that the computers were not working and it was hard to run a restaurant without computers, so I assumed she was an employee. I should have reconsidered going inside, but was craving some pancakes. Service was very disappointing--once my food was delivered, I never saw the waitress again. I had to approach her near the kitchen to get a check to pay. The food was also disappointing--eggs way over-cooked. Ordered Simply Fit 2x2x2. Since she did not come by to check on my food, I had no opportunity to complain. I was by now running late to get back to work, so did not take time to complain to the manager. I will not be likely to revisit.
over charge
Look my 3yr old daughter to breakfast, ordered her the jr. rooty tooty which has 1 egg, 1 pancake, 1 sausage and 1 strip of bacon. This was $5.49 and there are no prices on the kids menus. Then I asked for a side of fruit for her and an apple juice. My breakfast was 7.49 and my drink was 1.99. When I got my bill it was $23 and some change. I couldn't believe it. As I overlooked the charges I was amazed. Her side of fruit was $3.99. The fruit bowl so was not worth it. It had 2 grapes, 2 pieces of watermelon(kid bite size), 2 pieces of cantaloupe(kid bite size) and 2 pieces of honeydew(also kid bite sizes) When I brought it up to the waitress she said ya that's what it cost, take it up with the front and maybe they will take it off the bill. Well all I got was you should of asked how much it was. It is all pre measured its only 4oz. My response was do you think I would of payed 5.49 for the meal, 1.99 for a drink and 3.99 for fruit $11.50 for a 3 year olds breakfast when mine was only 9.49. All I got oh well. You should of asked. I will never go back there again even thouth it is only 2 milage from my house. They should really look into customer service and what thing are realy worth.
I have such a better story! I LOVE IHOP-we have one 25 miles from us here in Ohio and go quite often. On a recent trip to Disneyland there was an IHOP across the street and we decided to stop and eat there (instead of getting ripped off eating in the park)
I saw the prices on the menu and about fell over. The same breakfast (pancake combo) I pay $5.99 for in Ohio was freaking $10.99. EVERYTHING on the menu was jacked WAY up in price. It was completely a rip off. It cost me $25.00 for breakfast for myself and 1 other person. They even stated there were no refills on orange juice--wth? It was $3.99 for 1 glass!
I, of course thought maybe because its California thats why so expensive. I went to the IHOP in San Diego and guess what? The prices there were exactly the same as the IHOP in Lancaster Ohio.
I think it is pathetic that IHOP (or any restaurant for that matter) would jack up their prices like that just because of where its located. That is crap.
Its pretty sad when we could have eaten IN Disney for less then it cost us at IHOP-that is crap!
gift card rip off
Cashier refused to take in the gift card due to machine is broken. I requested the cashier to punch in the gift card number manually, but he refused again. Later on, instead of resolving the issue, he passed us on to a waitress to deal with us. The waitress only said that the machines is broken and that we have to pay in full. The gift card was never used...

10/29 To whom this may concern: about four years ago my mom and I went to ihop on taylor rd. in cheaspeake virginia, we order our food . I can't remember what my mom had but I had french fries and a sub. I had only taken a few bites when the largest roach I have ever seen come walking out of my french fries. I was shock, that only happen thru hear say. I called the waitress over and told her about it. by that time the roach had crawed off the table. The waitress was so not believing me, she acted in such a non caring way that my mom and I got up and left. I have not been back since [and I only live a half mile from ihop] till last week on a sunday, where we went there after chruch because we were so hungry, and we wanted breakfast, and there was no other place really to go. it was so much better than before. I just wanted to let you know that it is much improved. Sincerly judy upton
bad management
Just a couple of weeks ago my wife and i went to ihop, the time we went was during a shift change all of the waitresses were so busy trying to get home most replied im not taking it im ready to go but this one waitress came from out the back and asked who's table it was and can she have it she was a good waitress service with a smile i noticed her manager was looking at her watching her when the waitress walked away the manager came over asked how was everthing i said its okay she then replied she's somewhat new but i give her like 3wks my wife and i laugh i then ask 3 wks for what she says for her to working here she's not gonna last we then stopped laughing because i thought she meant something else and didnt find that comment funny i asked her are you management she says yes we always can point out the ones who's not going to last. I left after she said that left my tip she thanked me and asked me was i okay i told her to keep it up because she was doing a good job. I came back the next afternoon to report it to the general manager but he was in a meeting with 3 other managers i then saw the waitress from the night before she greeted me and i asked could she serve me until the manager gets out the meeting i was sat near the meeting because of limited seats and i overheard the general manager talking to the waitress giving her a lots of questions at the same time she then went in the bathroom to fix herself up i then overhear him say we just let go of 6 people in the past 5 days now we're about to get rid of more an di dont have time to be babysitting some child or helping her with every problem i dont have time for that i knew he was talking about her because he kept pointing and saying her name i honestly dont think that he should be head of anything talking and belittling people like that him or the other manager i wrote down their names so if i were to talk to corporate then i can report exactly who it was i own my own business and i dont talk to my employees like that but then again my business does not slack giving customer service. My wife and i went back to ihop to see how the waitress was doing but when i came back i heard two different stories that she left and that she got fired by the same manager who said she wouldnt last that long. I read up on the place on the internet and i think that the owner should really consider who he picks as management but as a customer i am still going to corporate never in my 47 years of living or 17 years of being a business man have i've seen that bad of management.
There are roaches every where the woman's bathroom smells like pure [censored] servers taking baths in the bathroom Amid to be exact smh close this place down
Jackie needs to be fired rude to black employees need not to work in public atmosphere of around black people
Racism is everywhere. In the Woodlands Texas is an IHOP I've been going to for 14 years plus. Recently the manager retired, and they hired a new one. The new manager brought her own people to her new store. I continued to go there until two weeks ago when for some reason the wait staff ignored me. I got up and left after 20 minutes. The staff walked right past my table. I'm done with IHOP. Oh, by the way. The entire staff is now black and I'm white.
Poor management coming from Racine to Milwaukee putting down the employees plus the gmail day nasty attitude towards the black employees needs to be fired
I had lunch at IHop Visalia on 3/24/19. Unfortunately, there was a hair at the bottom of my wifes plate. There was a little food left on top of this hair. The wife couldn't finish this understandedly. When I brought this to the attention of the waitress, she said she gave it to the manager. Shortly before I paid, I brought the hair situation up, and what will be done about this. The manager had the audacity to say it was my wifes hair and we came in for a free meal. To add insult to injury, he wasn't about to do anything about this. I said here is my last $50 to this Ihop in Visalia. Even worst, I told IHOP Headquarters about this. They even gave me a case #2291701 on 3/25/19. It is now May 29th, and nobody ever contacted me to discuss this. This says a lot about IHOP. Take your pick. Nobody cares on there end. I've been coming in to IHOP since I was a teenager. I am now 54. I will no longer be giving IHOP another dime. Just remember this, the consumer is always in control of the money and where it goes. I have breakfast out there somewhere every weekend at $50 to $80 every time. I'm just one person. Can you imagine where people would go if you treat your customers in this fashion? Not IHOP.
As any store, whether it is a restaurant/clothing/computer costumer and safety is FIRST well not at this ihop.
I got my wallet and phone stolen from someone sitting next to us i know the faces but it wouldve have been much more helpful if pictures had surfaced from WORKING CAMERAS, apparently this ihop's cameras have not been working for some time now the ones inside and in the parking lot. That just shows how costumers and their safety is not a priority something has to be done here this cant go unheard!
I go to this ihop location near where i live every once in a while and i keep asking myself why. I've known the wait staff for years and they're all nice but the food is not as good as it used to be and this new management really sucks. Yesterday i went there with my kids during lunch time and i have to say the place inside was hotter than hell. I could see the poor waitresses were having a terrible day. I guess this new management didn't realize yet that summer here in Georgia is HOT. I had no option. I left the place with my kids and went somewhere else. Now, my mother likes that place and she asked to go there today with the kids and that's what we did. Can you guess? HOT HOT HOT. No way i would stay in that place with 2 kids and a 82 year old lady. Poor waitresses! I felt sorry for them.
You know, I have actually been employeed for this company for about seven months now. I have never before witnessed such a poor display of management ability. The GM of this store is out right rude, disruptive to production, harrassing to employees, shovanistic, shows complete favortism. To sum it up he is a shovanistic, egatistical pig. He has total lack of respect for anyone who is under him. His complete management theory is that "I am, so there fore I can". This is no way to run a business. Since I have been there a manager and two employees have been fired for code of conduct and harrasement. For this to happen in less than a five month period shows that this type of behavior is allowed. The only time the management gets involved is when he is in fear of his own statis. Tell me why there is only one male server on the floor and non have been hired or interviewed. The current male server is only on the floor because he was there before this GM took position. The GM show complete signs of discrimination. This is not an equal opportunity employer. He makes the servers cry. He writes employees up for things just because he is made. But doesn't write everyone up that does the same thing. He mainly only writes up those he gets mad at. Employees have been asked to leave the building instead of being allowed to clock in for their shift and never served termination papers, they leave there not knowing if they have a job or not. Company policies are not uniformly followed from one employee to another. This is clearly a man that loves to prove he is a man and push around women. It is wrong. No one deserves to be made to feel like they are worthless just because they make a mistake or the boss doesn't have control. When things fall apart and he looses control, he takes it out on who ever is there at the time. He is nasty in his words chosen. He doesn't appologize either. This is wrong and no one should be subjected to this type of management. Just the other day he made a decision and did not relay it to other management. So she mad a decision based on her knowledge. But because it was against what he said he made her cry by yelling at her in the front of the house, in front of customers and other employees instead of taking her to the office the way policy is to be followed. He makes his own rules as he goes along. If he sees anything on the break table he throws it away. You know, some of us do not drink pop or coffee so we don't drink the companies beverages. We like to bring our own. He throws them away to be mean. We pay for this stuff, and to be told we can't have anything to drink in the break room is unlawful. You can't force someone to drink the companies beverages and you can't throw away something someone has paid for. If i took something you paid for and threw it away you could have me arrested for theft, right. This is not right and something needs to be done. Someone needs to say something but everyone at the store is in fear of their jobs and they have families to support. You should not have to feel like this, as a grown adults trying to make money to support our families. Your shifts get cut just for laughing or asking a question. What makes this right? Please someone tell me .
Yes management is questionable in Brighton Colorado too. They should do a background check on the GM there. Apparently there is question about her police record. She is in charge of payroll yet it's possible she has a felony arrest for a crime involving money and or theft of substantial proportions. Several of her employees have been shorted routinely on their pay checks. She even recently fired two employees for declining to work during an E. coli outbreak in the entire city of Brighton, Colorado. They were genuinely concerned about the health and safety of their own and the patrons who were eating there
the i hop in anama city fl is a very nice lace but the manager has go to go i have watched him run numerous customers off im a regular and i see hime yall at these girls like they were two years old and i dont even talk to my kids like that i had a short stack i had to wait an hr on and instead of the manager going back there to see what was going on he was walkin around flirting with the staff then when a server goes to him with a roblem he starts yalling and cussing at them for trying to get the problem soleved he has no resect for anyone besides himself ive heard him call the servers ### and ###s i dont appreciate my young daughters hearing that language their always out of everything and i heard a server say they was not aloud to have a drink they work all day without nething to drink i think someone needs to clean house the g.m has no idiea how to run a restraunt
yeah most servers and most people do want to leave their workplace at the end of the day. Can't blame them there. But yes, that was very rude of him.
undercooked runny egg whites the norm
I always order my egg whites cooked. This restaurant seems to not be able to do that on a very consistent basis. The State Health Department requires them to make a posting on their menu to the effect that "undercooked eggs are a potential health hazard". Runny egg whites on my plate are unsightly, unappetizing, potentially unhealthy and just plain disgusting. I am a cancer survivor and can not (NOT) eat something that has questionable preparation.

order your eggs differently. get them scrambled... or "over hard" eggs are a simple thing to fix... and honestly i think its a rediculous complaint. i think u may be ordering your eggs wrong. you cant blame IHOP for that.
fraud and scam
On March 18, 2002 My family and friends family went to IHOP in Waldorf. We already had a problem because the place smelled like mold. My family used to visit IHOP frequently until this day. We all ordered our food. I had ordered Biscuts and gravy. Well, the food came out and the woman was handing the food around so everyone's hands were full. Next thing we know, she places the hot plate of biscuits and gravy in front of our toddle (15months at the time), of course we tried to grab the plate real quick, but before we could he put his right hand in it, thinking it's his food. He starts screaming, the server walks away.
We were trying to get the gravy off of his hand. He burned his left hand trying to get it off himself. I ran to the bathroom and got a wet paper towel, the gravy just stuck to him. The server came over and we demanded the check and asked to speak to the manager. The manager then comes over and asked us what the problem is, so we told him what happened, not like he couldn't hear it. We also told him that we want to leave and get him to the hospital, because his hands were bubbling.
The manager kept us at bay for almost 30 minutes. We told him we were leaving and then we got up to walk out. All of the sudden he gives us our check. We didn't eat, and left everything on the table. We walked up to pay so we could finally leave. I asked him to write his name and the servers name down so I knew how to contact regarding his medical bills. He starts arguing with us, telling us our son had no business putting his hands in the food. I said 'excuse me' and he continues, 2 people were behind us, so I told him to let me pay my bill so I can get him to the hospital.
He then looks at the people behind us and tells them not to worry about their bill, and he was sorry for there inconvenience. Really! I just stood stunned, he then says, what the F*** is my problem, I told him to just let me pay my bill. After that he proceeded to call me a ### and told me to give him my F-ing bill. When I told him that he had it, he started up some more, so I said 'that's it' I'm through, and walked out.
My son had to see his regular doctor the next day and she was overwhelmed by what happened. Unfortunately, there isn't too much they can do for him because of his age and he's small. She could only give him a ointment to apply when he feel asleep. By Friday of that week, he ended up with an infection in the blister; they were starting to pop.
After trying to contact IHOP for a month, someone finally calls me and asks that I have his doctor send a fax of his situation. She also makes the comment, 'You need to understand that the server was only 17 and does not have children of her own.' They sent them one stating that he did receive 2nd and 3rd degree burns to several of his fingers on both hands and would be scarred as a result. We didn't hear anything more, so I sent numerous e-mails to IHOP, finally we contacted by their insurance company a month and a half ago. The insurance man came to our home and took pictures of his scars.
We were told that they would contact us asap as to how they will settle this. I still haven't heard back. I just sent a e-mail telling IHOP that if this isn't resolved, I would turn this over to my attorney. I have given these jerks ample time to try to help the situation and the only response I get form them is, 'it's your son's fault' and 'sorry, but what do you want us to do?'. If I hear back, I will update this report as to what they want to do.

There is no IHOP on GUAM! I want IHOP!
Wrongfully fired employees
I was wrongfully fired because they say i tried to resale a ticket and some of my beverages were not on my ticket and the other mgr that worked on our night shift Ms. Shondra went and told the general mgr Ms. Cartina that I was rude to her and loud which i did not do. I was working for that particular ihop for 3 years without a write up on file at all and...

MasterCard's Merchant Rules prohibit merchant's from requiring identification to process a credit card transactions on signed credit cards. After dining at IHOP I provided my MasterCard for payment and was asked for ID, which I declined. They asked for another form of payment as their "policy" required ID. I told them I had no other form of payment and was threatened with arrest for 'dine and dash' and 'theft of service.' Until my wife finally paid. Unacceptable, Merchant should know the rules.

Someone has got to go into the Hwy 60 store in Lake Wales. The servers wash dishes. How unsanitary is this. Instead they are to cheap to hire full time dish washers. I am sick of companies not providing enough help in their business. They are just concerned about the funds of the business and saving money. Instead of paying for what the customers want. I have been into the 95 store and you have the Regional and store Manager talking to an employee like they are nothing and something should do something about. You don't treat people like crap. They help bring you business. How can you think your above everyone when you don't know how to deal with people.
I have experienced the management at store 95 in Lake Wales to be very rude. She talks to them any kind of way like they are 2 year olds. I am so surprised to see people get treated like this and nothing is done about it. These servers are here for the customers. Without them there is no running a store. I am very upset. Some management take their authority to far.
A merchant has the right to ask to see ID any time they want. I worked at a major credit card co for 20 years in the fraud investigation department. I WISHED more merchants would have asked for ID cause it would have saved the company I worked for tons of $$.
Per merchant agreement the merchants are supposed to veri the signature on the back of the card matches the signature on the sale---just how many times do merchants even bother to look anymore?
I write "check photo id" in sharpie on the back of all my credit cards (debit cards too) and highlight that. I get asked id occasionally which I am thankful for.
You should be thankful they (IHOP) have that policy in place.
It protects you as the consumer. With all the identy theft and credit card fraud going on in the world, an ID check is the first step measure enuring the name on the card matches the ID and the picture resembles (however vaguely) the person attemting the tansaction.
A restaurant (or business) pays a fee for each credit card transaction, so in effect they are accepting less than the full amount transmitted. If a fraudulent transation has occured it is charged back to the restaurant (or business). They lose the money.
When a business accumulates losses above a tolerated amount they usually pass that on to the consumer in increased costs.
Would you have complained if someone had used your card and IHOP had not checked ID?
I agree. If the cardholder wishes to show their picture ID with each card use, why not simply write 'Check ID' on the back of the card?
I don't believe you signed a waiver before you dined agreeing to live up to their credit card/ ID policies. Perhaps these should be served with the menus?
Mastercard should not make a ruling like that, unless your picture is on the card. Cashiers are not hand writing experts, which means anyone could use your card. I welcome any place of bussiness asking for my ID.
stinks!
We have this IHOP nearby that we started to go to, but then decided to avoid. Because the place STINKS! It stinks literally and it makes you stink as well - in 15 minutes of dining there at the furthest table from the kitchen your hair, clothes and even the hand bag will smell so bad, you have to immediately take a shower and do an urgent load of laundry. If you have a romantic date - don't go there! You will not enjoy getting close to each other after that! We told the manager over and over again about the poor ventilation, but were ignored. I wonder if someone else, too, has complained! This place is NASTY smelling!
