My name is Michael Richmond, I'm the CEO and founder of www.TEA-iL.com Two Earth Angels in Love. I walk my local park everyday and today I tried to help a homeless gentleman who had not eaten in a few days. We walked over to the local IHOP and he ordered a Waffel Combo breakfast, I paid for the meal and gave a tip for the service. He was sat down at a table and I gave him my phone so he could call his father to wish him Happy Fathers day. Unfortunately his father didn't answer. I wasn't planing on staying while he ate his meal and proceeded back to the park, on the way his father called so I walked back to IHOP so he could al least talk to his dad. When I got back over there the staff had moved him to a different table and the order was a to go order which I did not realize how the order was rang up. I had the Host take the order and was told he can only ring up to go orders. After I returned Ther was coffee spilled all over the table, the staff became very attentive to the gentleman, after I returned, all except for one manager, she was very narcissistic and demanded we leave. The other assistant manager was much nicer and helped get things settled down and allowed the gentleman to at least eat part of the meal that I had paid for. Then the manager came back over and once again demanded we leave right then. I asked for a togo box and was denied service by the manager. Now I wasn't there for around 5 minutes while the food was being prepared so I can not really say what transpired during that time, However the homeless gentleman does have some mental health issues and is obviously working at a diminished level, However I don't believe he should be disrespected by management. He proceeded to eat while I sat with him so he wouldn't just get tossed out of the restaurant. As he got close to finishing up once again the manager came over this time very demanding the we leave NOW or she was going to call the police, I told to her to please call the police, she walked off again fuming. I'm not one that want to cause problems, I'm more into solutions myself. So I ask one of the other staff members for a togo box, which she brought right back over. We cleaned up and placed the rest of the food in a bag and proceeded to leave all the while the manager escorted us out of the restaurant and told both of us never to come back we were trespassed. Well I have absolutely no problem with ever stepping foot in any of your restaurants again. No problem at all happy to oblige. However I really think this situation could have been handled completely differently and both the staff as well as the customer could have had a better experience. I'd like to thank the assistant manager for her courtesy, she was very professional . The manager on the other hand was out of control, completely. I would highly suggest additional anger management training for the manager at a minimum.
