Humana - horrible company
I've had Humana for about 5 yrs. The only reason I stick with them is because they provide rides to doctors' appointments. Until 2 yrs. Ago we got 12 r/t but this year they reduced it to 6 r/t per year. I like to attend the annual meetings because they are supposed to answer our questions, however, they send "sales people". This yr. we met at a small restaurant in Las Vegas where we sat like sardines while the "salesman" talked about how great Humana is & the bus boys made so much noise with the dishes, cups & glasses that we could hardly hear the salesman in addition to the customers talking loudly. The salesman said "The gov't gives us lots of money for your medical care", I asked him how many rides would we get in 2017 & he replied "6 r/t", I replied "you just said that the gov't gives you lots of money, couldn't Humana add a few more trips? especially for us who don't have cars & the summer heat in LV is oppresive?" But he walked away w/o answering. I asked him if he could recommend a gynecologist & he said "no". Today I found out why, no gynecologist in this town of hicks with the worst medical care in the whole country for the 4th yr. In a row takes Humana Gold Plus HMO. I asked him if the customer service was located in the U.S. Or other country, he said "well, recently we moved the cust. svc. To other countries", I said "for the last 5 yrs. every time I call or send an email they are routed to the Philippines & me & the rest of the insureds get no proper answers, their emails are written in such a poor English that we have to guess what they are trying to say, plus, they give us the wrong answers every single time. Going to the local Humana office is useless as well, starting with the receptionists & after a long wait we are seen by totally incompetent people.
Humana - customer service
on 12-21-16 I called to speak to an agent (he said his name was Daniel S.). The reference number is 1000014373810...My parents are 85 yrs old and I am the caregiver on their account. This man would not talk to me stating that I may only "receive" certain information. He actually made me get my parents on the phone. They have no idea what is going on...We pay 1 check a month for both policies. They sent a letter saying my mothers payment (H40612843)was not sent in and that my father (H57350201) had a credit on his account of the exact amount of my mother policy...All I called for was to straighten it out...You record your phone calls for "Quality Assurance"...well listen to it. Its as disgrace that when you call back you probably get the same customer service office that you orginally got. I had no idea that Humana has so many complaints for customer service. I went on the website...If anyone there is really in the complaints department who care about Humana customers, you need to reach out to people. I am truly sickened by the smug way your customer service is...They leave you on hold to further piss you off. Shame on you Humana.

I used the automated service and entered all the necessary info as requested and it was verified as I went along the automated system, then I was automatically transferred to your agent Raeso at 9:15 am on 11/14/16. She made me go thru all the info again because none of my automated info was retained. I spent almost 50 min on the phone with agent Raeso attempting to get authorization for our patients surgical outpatient procedure. I am calling from a busy physician office and I am angry that I wasted almost one hour of my time! What is going on? What is the point of an automated system if it doesn't work and then a MD office needs to repeat the entire requested info back to an Humana agent? I asked the agent the the customer complaint phone number and was given 877-845-3480, then I pressed #2 for specialist and was promptly disconnected. This happened twice today 11/14/16 Ugg

I am filing a grievance about Humana for the decision of disenrolled me as of 10/31/2016. I reside in Pennsylvania in the service area; where in the Evidence of Coverage booklet does it state "I can not visit immediate family members in any state for any period of time."!! Humana - ride assist service dropped my 77 year old dad off and left him stranded for the second time
On 10/15/16 Humana scheduled transportation for my father to take him to and from his medical appointment (15 miles away). They picked him up around 7am and told him that someone would be there to pick him up after his appointment to take him home. Humana - medicare prescription coverage
First off, do NOT let them deduct your premium from your social security benefit! You have been warned. When we moved from one state to another my wife could not find anyone to go to in the new state. When we called Humana we were basically told "sorry, tough luck" and since it wasn't open enrollment we couldn't disenroll. They kept taking the premium out of my wife's doc check. When we commented that due to low income we qualified for state aid HUMANA THEMSELVES told us we could disenroll due to "low income subsidy but we had to complete one of their forms, which we did. After that and several phone calls we were told they would stop deducting premiums in Apiril 1st. Imagine our anger and surprise to find it continued through July. We eventually had to call Medicare directly and have Medicare FORCIBLY disenroll us. We had DOUBLE COVERAGE for 4 months and it is clear that Humana is doing everything possible to avoid refunding premium. They go as far to say they can't refund because we "used the plan". EXCUSE ME, But had you disenrolled us when we first requested there would not have been coverage. WE CANCELLED YOUR PLAN BUT YOU KEPT ON DEDUCTING PREMIUM FROM a low income senior's social security check. THAT, is "Medicare Enrollment Fraud".
I got dental from Humana ON July 2016.I had a probelm in my one of the tooth. I went to human net work doctor Mr. Edward A. Mucha on August 1, 2016 . He took X-ray and found several problems. I was seen at the cancer center today my HGB is 7.1 My oncologist gave an order for 2 blood transfusions. These 2 transfusions are desperately needed. I called customer service to ask why it is going to take 48 plus hours to receive approval for these two transfusions. An African American female answered the phone. Humana - insurance coverage
Would not pay anything for my sons leg braces and the policy we pay for is a comprehensive commercial policy. The braces were $286 dollars and needed because his knees were out of alignment and he was having trouble walking.
The orthopedic doctor called Humana on my behalf and verbally asked for them to reconsider. A Humana representative said if I could get the doctor to call that would use that as an appeal. Human still refused to pay. The school system (Blount County Schools) in East Tennessee that was using Humana was tired of it's employees getting claims denied and dropped Humana as of Jan. 1, 2016. I think the public should no that there are way better options out there for insurance companies that will pay for medicals services than Humana .
Humana - unethical behavior/ utilization review nurse
On 3/1/16 a request for LTAC was submitted through the automated system for patient Walter Johnson, DOB:12/31/1941, ID# H48658549.
On 3/3/16 I received a phone call from Devera Ellis who is the CM at THR Harris SW (the facility where member currently is) and Devera stated that she received a phone call from Nelda Bell who stated that the request for LTAC was denied and that the pt would need to go to a SNU.
I had not received a phone call or fax from Nelda Bell or any other representative for Humana to request clinical or discuss patient's LTAC request. I then called Humana's main number and spoke with Marvie, call ref #CDR086126118, who informed me that the LTAC request had been voided by Nelda stating that pt was going to a SNU and that she had a note stating that she had called the number provided for the request (which is my direct line) and spoken to someone regarding pt. This statement is untrue as neither I nor any of my colleagues spoke with her. Because she voided the case instead of sending it to the medical director we do not know if it truly was denied and it took away our right for a peer-to-peer review. A new case can be started but this is also an issue as it is a delay in care/transfer of patient.
In December of 2015 I contacted Humana about clarifying my preferred provider (Dr Ma). The operator assured me that Dr Ma (my primary care doctor) was on the approved list but for some reason she was unable to have her indicated as my primary doctor. Humana - customer service
I spent 7hours 19min trying to obtain a new pcp today; it took 11 different calls and a supervisor hung up on me. My previous pcp closed his office without warning. My health requires frequent visits and many meds I am 68yrs old and very ill at this time. If could I would immediately change issuance companys rest assured I will the next time we can. I will never suggest for any friends to join humana, this was and is still a nightmare this company should be ashamed of themselves and by the way they need to hire people who are better trained and definitely older than my great grand kids.
Humana - not a very organized company
Humana Outsourcing all their call reps give misleading info and they haven't processed a claims received 6 month ago with all information needed to process... Manager dont call you back and they never pay what they say... My Doctor office staffed told me NEVERT go with humana again... I called 1/5/16, 12/28/15, 2/8/2016, still my issue has not been resolved and my Doc office called over 10 times before getting me involve they refused to transfer me to the manage who made broken promise in getting me claim processed, ... not a very organized company
Don't let yourself be fooled...they don't payout medical claims. They cancelled our policy when we paid them with a certified check and proved to them with the postal receipt that it was paid in time. Humana - customer service
I am trying to give the correct Fax number to my Doctor. After years of
being a customer I needed a refill and after a month and a half finally
received it. They had the wrong fax number for order. I am on the phone
now for 2o minutes, been passed around 3 times and had bad customer
service...on hold without being told . Called Humana who wants to send
me back to the pharmacy where I was with a person who did not know
what she was doing. I had to repeat numbers 4 times to her. This is very
poor customer service and in the future I will be leaving.
Humana - delta dental ppo - coverage
On a recorded line, I was told by a Humana representative that my dentist Dr. Edith Gevorgian, Glendale, CA, was in network and that routine cleaning would be fully covered. After my first cleaning, Dr. Gevorgian received $21 from Humana. I called Humana and was told that she was NOT in network. I asked to have my policy canceled and premium refunded. I suggested that they listen to the recorded line. They told me to write to PO. Box 14729, Grievance and Abuses. I did so enclosing a check for $21. Today I was told that there was no record of my correspondence on June 14 and August 4. After that, I searched my check records. Sure enough, Humana cashed my check for $21 in August 2015. So, they did receive my letter. I was lied to about my dentist being in network, and then I was stonewalled by customer service. Today I also received an E-mail stating that my policy was being canceled effective last August. Seriously, return every cent of my premium and send me a thank you letter for bringing this pattern of fraud to your attention.
Humana - affordable health care plan
I obtained my health plan from Humana with the the Affordable Health Care in 2015. On May 1, 2015 Humana cancelled my policy due to non-payment which was paid by the Federal Government. Of course Humana did not tell me this nor did I get a letter. When I had to pay for my medication HUMIRA which costs 3, 000 per month they told me it was due to a glitch and I would get the money back. I called and called and called and was told so many times I can't count them all that the check was in process and was even given an amount. Finally in October a CSR told me that my policy was cancelled and that no money was coming back to me. I called the Affordable Health Care and they told me to appeal the decision. I did this, won the appeal and I contacted Humana spoke with a supervisor and she made a three way call to the Affordable Health Care office who told her I won the appeal and have coverage. The supervisor told me that she should have the information within 24-48 hours and she would call me back by Thursday. Of course she never did and I called today only to find out that there are no notes and they can't contact the supervisor that I mentioned and not I have to wait another 10 days. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE I have been waiting for the 3000$$$$ back since May. ALL I WANT is WHAT I PAID... RETURN MY MONEY AS I WAS OVER MY DEDUCTIBLE AND OUT OF POCKET...
Humana - this company has ruined my records
Company Humana Insurance gave me wrong details and not full information about their services. After all the problems appeared, I called to the company and asked to explain what they have done, but the reps weren’t talkative and refused to tell me anything. I was so angry and because of their actions I have serious problems and my records were spoiled. Do not do business with them!
Humana - refusal to pay long term customer
I cannot express how disgusting this company is. I was a young college student who was self employed and paid Humana for years! The minute I had any issues and needed help - they canceled my policy and made it impossible without attorneys to get medical bills paid. They should be out of business😔😔😓😓
Humana - px medicare supplemental
I have met my deductible for my Prescription Medicare supplemental (Act 603467115-001) in January. Since, I have been paying for my co-payments which have already increased once this year. however I went to pick up my prescriptions for this month and one (Eliiquis) has gone from $79 to $109 and the other (Betamethasone ointment) has gone from $20 to $53 medication. There was no notice and I cannot afford my medication after these additional increases. I need to know why the increases occurred and how Humana is going to help me. I certainly cannot continue next year with a company with such terrible customer service.
