product deception and wrong product installed
I am very disappointed to find you are the most deceptive bunch of people I have ever dealt with - I am going to file a law suite against home depot...I solited your services for a window -- you came out and measure the window and suggest or stated the only manufacture which makes this window is Andersen knowing you were deceiving me and you selected the highest product possible...you charged me 2600.00 for a window and claim it had to be special made --- and stated Home Depot was cheaper but they did not have this three panel window -- this was a lie of depection; this is a consumer law when you intentionally deceive a customer... It is unfair or deceptive to represent, directly or by implication, that any industry product is new or unused when such is not the fact, or to misrepresent the current condition, or extent of previous use, reconstruction, or repair of any industry product.
Then you deliever a product I never ordered ...the you take the window out and never look at rather it matches the ordered product and then blow me off and say Oh we can just order grids but it will be several weeks.
Did you guys do this because I was a woman or even better black woman -- you over sold me and deceive me and I trusted you to order the best product possible...several of my neighbors said they order HOME DEPOT WINDOWS...
THEN I NEVER GOT A COPY OF THE CONTRACT AND I HAD NO CHOICE BUT THE SIGN BECAUSE THE CONTRACTING COMPANY HAD DESTROYED THE PREVIOUS WINDOW ...
WHY DID HOME DEPOT RIP ME OFF THIS WAY IS IT BECAUSE I WAS A WOMAN OR A WOMAN OF COLOR...THIS NEED TO BE ADDRESS RIGHT AWAY...I WANT MY MONEY REFUNDED AND MY OLD WINDOW PUT BACK IN IF YOU CANNOT BE TRUSTED AND I AM LIED TO THERE IS NO REASON FOR ME TO SHOP YOUR STORE AND YOU WILL BE REPORTED TO BBB. WHAT A SHAMEFUL ACT.
appliance purchase and delivery
Dates: December 31, 2019 to January 14, 2020. Order No. WA76706451
Home Depot has no control over their stock or delivery. They misrepresent the availability of items and use a very poor delivery service. I ordered a 4 piece kitchen suite from Home Depot because they said that they could deliver in 2 to 4 days. Other stores told me it would take one to two weeks. Time was of the essence since my contractor was waiting on the appliances. I also thought that the local Home Depot store was consumer friendly and had its own delivery service (my mistake).
Home Depot contracts out their delivery to this Spirit Delivery with its main office about an hours drive away. Delivery was rescheduled 3 times because at least one of the appliances was apparently not in stock. LG told me that Home Depot could have checked its computer and seen that they were out of stock on one of the items. LG also said that Home Depot "does this all the time". What that means is that I could have ordered the appliances from another store at less cost. When I called the local Home Depot they were reluctant to help because I had ordered online. I did not go to the store because when I called it for information the person on the phone was eating his lunch and was not at all helpful. Who knew that the online Home Depot and the Dunkirk/Fredonia Home Depot were not working for the same business? To make matters worse - Home Depot had the wrong phone number on the Order and couldn't change it so in order to check the status, I had to type in someone else's phone number.
As an aside, the first time I ordered, it was on the phone, we got to the end of the Order and my Home Depot credit card was $51 short. I offered to put the $51 on another card and was told I could not. I then had to contact Home Depot Financing; I asked for an additional $200 and was approved. I then called back to place the order and got a new person, had to start all over and by the time I had repeated the spelling of my Town three times, I said never mind, I'll do it online.
When delivery finally occurred the Spirit employees would not bring the refrigerator in because the yard was too muddy. I also arranged for them to take my old refrigerator. They did not have it on the work order and left.
I then contacted Home Depot again and arranged to have the delivery service come back to move the refrigerator from the garage where they left it to the house. The delivery service still did not have the order to take the old fridge and left the new one in the middle of the room waiving the delivery order at me showing that there was no haul away order. I told him I had paid for it with a credit card and he should call his boss. He said he could not get a line from here (which I thought very odd) so I said ok I'll call Home Depot - as soon as I dialed he took out his phone which worked fine and made a call but by this time I was trying to explain to the local Home Depot person what was going on and did not know whether or not he had gotten in touch with his boss. He seemed angry that I had called Home Depot. It upset me that he had lied about not being able to get a line when he could have just called his boss to begin with. He clearly did not like that I had called Home Depot so I gave him my phone so that Home Depot could tell him that he was supposed to take the old fridge. He told Home Depot that he had gotten permission to take the fridge but that I had called Home Depot anyway - and I was in the background trying to tell the Home Depot person on the phone that he was lying that he had told me he couldn't get a line and I was not aware that he had gotten through.
Home Depot then accused me of causing the problem by not listening to him lying! He left without hooking up the new fridge or taking the old one. Home Depot acted like the whole thing was my fault. They implied that it was my fault for "shouting" in the background and he said I wouldn't listen to him. I was trying to tell them that he had told me he could not get through to his boss and I did not know that he had gotten permission to take the fridge. I am certain that he would have left without trying to contact his boss if I had not called Home Depot. At that point I was angry and I just wanted to be left alone. Some of the Home Depot employees were very nice but I was too upset to respond in kind.
The desirable resolution would be for Home Depot to stop misinforming customers about the availability of appliances and to find a local non-Buffalo based delivery service for this area. I cannot calculate my own loss: I spent 3 days waiting for deliveries packing and repacking my old refrigerator not to mention the endless hours on the phone and the emotional stress and the delay had my contractor waiting so... I have a brand new fridge in the middle of my room and an old fridge that I will have to arrange to have removed. I am still upset. All in all this has been a thoroughly awful experience and I want people to know about it and will make sure that they do. I may turn it into a comedy routine once I am able to look back on it.
I especially want to say THANK YOU to Home Depot for turning what I was looking forward to in my new kitchen into an unpleasant memory that will haunt my kitchen and may make for a good story to tell when I entertain guests.
roofing
We had a roof installed through Home Depot in 2017. The salesman (who was a Home Depot employee) told us it was a '30 year roof.' Within a month, the roof was leaking. We contacted our local Home Depot, and a repair person was sent. At least that leak was addressed.
We also had a bathroom renovated through another contractor at the same time. RIght before Christmas of 2019, we realized the roof was leaking above the bathroom. The sheetrock is disintigrating, and there is mold. Again we contacted our local Home Depot, but we were told they no longer installed roofs. We must call a warranty company. We've called the warranty company 10 times. We've had several promises that somebody would call us withing 3 working days. No calls. We went to the Home Depot where we set up the original installation. We were promised by a manager that somebody would contact us in 24 to 48 hours. Nobody contacted us. I called the manager who made that promise. She made a call, and told me to call someone at the warranty company. She had just talked to him and he was waiting for our call. She also told us that Home Depot would no longer do nothing about it. In a round-about way she was telling us not to call her anymore.
We have since heard from others who had roofs done through Home Depot who tell the same story. The roof leaks and nobody will fix it. We paid over $13, 000 for this roof, and it leaks. We also have damage to the home because of the most recent leak. Just telling us that Home Depot doesn't handle that isn't a good excuse. Home Depot sold us the roof and now refuses to help us fix it. Is there anything at all that your company will do to resolve this issue?

service; lack of understanding of the market
I contacted home depot to purchase a Samsung 1.9 cu ft. I tried to order it on line or at the store. The manger told me i have to pay a $60 delivery charge regardless if the item was delivered to my home or to the locall home depot. I think this is so stupied. I called lowes i was a ble to pick up the unit from there local store withoit any additional charge. and they gave me a 5% discount since i applied for a lowes credit card. Guess what that how lowes will be getting all my future busines and that how home depot will be loosing $.
credit card
I bought some products in july via a credit card scheme. Payment due on 5th feb 2020. Subsequently told in october that I am overdue. Paid $100 in october. Checked my credit rating rating in december and it had gone to the dogs due to 'some' non payment. Finally spoke to a 'payment' woman on 17th december and she said if I 'settled overdue' of $ 30.00 she will ensure credit agency will be informed within 5 days to upgrade my rating. I paid cash in your store on the 18th december that you 'received' on the 19th. Up to today, 10th january credit agency says no payment since october 2019. Account needs attention. Called your credit card and they told me need approval of some 'higher up' to inform credit agency. Called and spoke to anand in payment section. He said he will call me back at 1.00 pm but now it is 2.47 pm. I tried calling but I am informed they have gone home for a good rest. Is home depot managed by liars and con people? Is the president alive or brain dead? Who actually works in home depot? My email is: [protected]@yahoo.com. Contact number [protected]. Hope there is someone alive in here.
defiant led motion security light
I purchased an outside sensor lighting; I paid an electrician to come and install it; he found it to be defective; I took it back to return it; I waited 20 minutes in line ( 2 cashiers and 7 people in line); I asked for a supervisor; eventually Cori an assistant supervisor appeared and all he said was "sorry; hopefully your next experience will be better". I told him that that was not good enough after all I had to pay and my time; After I pushed back he finally conceeded to take half off the price. I am NOT satisfied. I have been a loyal custoer to Home Depot for 30 years. I now have to pay the electrician to come back and install the light sensor.

window installation
Like others on this forum, made the mistake of ordering windows from HD. They installed the wrong windows. They then substituted with a "comparable" window which was the lowest bargain basement level they carry when I bought the high end of their range. No reparation.
Do, I threaten to sue. They agree to a settlement agreement which they also breached. Then they unlawfully charge my credit card for the entire amount of the wrong windows, despite their clear knowledge they screwed up. I dispute the charge, and working in concert with Citi for the 24 month interest free HD card, they create a new account, without my authorization and put the money (thousands) on that card. Then they threaten me when I find out they didn't even have the performance bond listed on the contract.in short, under NO circumstances should anyone do business with Home Depot for Windows or Doors. And, forget the credit card. I had the exact same scam as many of the others on here. My perfect credit got canned. I will never make this mistake again, and plan on getting rid of citi cards all together. This is borderline racketeering
marble counter installation
I had ordered a marble top for my bathroom counter they told me they would come out December 31 between one and five no one showed up and no one called me I finally got a hold of someone they rescheduled for January 1 between 12 and 3 o'clock when the workers showed up they told us they could not install the countertop as the old one had not been removed ... we had been told to leave the old countertop so they would be able to cut the hole where the sink needed to be with the workers here waiting I tried to get a hold of Home Depot to clear this matter up I was hung up on I was transferred to the wrong department three times by the time I finally got a manager I was pretty upset instead of trying to calm me down and take care of this matter she was very rude she continue to try to talk over me trying to send the workers away and have me reschedule which was not an option she eventually hung up on me and then my calls were no longer answered
The workers were kind enough they went ahead and did the job without any more contact with Home Depot after the workers left I saw a big brown line going through the marble I thought it was just a flaw in the marble it is a crack when I called back to Home Depot they refused to let me talk to a manager or anyone in charge said everyone had gone home it was only 6 o'clock
I feel first of all to make an appointment with me on December 31 and no one showing up was very poor service then not letting me know the countertop had to be removed before the installers got here again poor service ... and when I called to get help with the workers standing here trying to figure out what was going on I kept getting disconnected hung up on sent to the wrong department and then was given a very rude manager and now I have a cracked countertop this needs to be taken care of immediately or I will be canceling this whole order and be expecting a full refund
I also have recorded a few of these conversations
refrigerator delivery or lack thereof
I have experienced total dissatisfaction with home deport regarding the delivery of a refrigerator that I ordered and paid for on december 1st with delivery promised for december 10th. Waited all day for delivery. No delivery and no personal contact. I requested my money be refunded. Instead I was given a new delivery date of december 19th. Needless to say, I still have no refrigerator and am out of my money. Home depot is filled with fake promises and fake advertisements.
I have been a very long time satisfied customer of home depot and wonder if they are experiencing the same inept leadership as the boeing company. Poor, poor customer service.
They should take a look at ll bean and lands end.
Order number wd66919593
I too have been a long time customer of Home Depot and I had a similar experience ordering something that was supposed to be in stock 2 to 4 day delivery, not true.
tuff shed
Shed initially ordered August 28, 2019; Factory notification of construction 2 weeks later; Delivery/install scheduled for 9/20; no show-truck broke down; reschedule for 9/25 a date that posed a conflict with my schedule; factory said crew would arrive between 8:30-9:30 AM; didn't arrive until 11:45 AM, 15 minutes before I was scheduled to leave town; delayed my trip by an hour; crew unloaded materials and said hold down brackets were missing but they could be added later; Upon returning 4 days later I observed that the shed was not flush with the concete pad and the drip cap above the door was not installed, notified the factory; I failed to notice that on the far back corner of the shed 4 ft. of eave trim was not installed and the roof trim did not align; received notification that I had not yet signed the electronic "warrenty" forms, I replied that the shed had not yet been completed; soon after I received notification that the time-line lapsed for my signing the forms and the forms had been withdrawn; sometime in November a crew showed up to install anchors on the outside of the base as they had no means to install anchor to the inside of the base as should have been performed initially, they said drip cap was on back order; Individual stopped mid-December to install drip cap, noticed eave trim missing but the guy did not have materials, said he was seasonal and in a few days off for 3 months. Four months from initial order and the shed still is not complete as it should be. To get this over-with I purchased eave trim to get it done by installing it myself. An additional criticism is that the installation crew used twice as many nails as needed with their power nailer. All 5 of the individuals I dealt with on this venture were polite, courteous and didn't waste time on site. My perseption is that the factory has significant QA problems.
samsung refrigerator
Do not buy this product. Home Depot does not service their own appliances. Buy from someone who does. Samsung does not service their own products. Read the reviews and talk to service people before you buy any appliance. Home Depot should not even sell samsung. They are junk, I have bought 2 in 1 1/2 yrs and this 10 day old one quit working paid 2700 computer screen on front. I know should not have bought it. Seriously though read the reviews and talk to appliance repair people and buy from some who does their own service. A hard expensive lesson learned 😭
I will say today AGAIN, a complaint on 12/27/20 we came home to water all over the floor and the ice maker is not making ice this within 35 days of having this refrigerator. The guy who helped us said he would send person out to chat about our problem with this set of kitchen equipment. We are not happy customers. but no one came. Within 2 days of delivery for a near $3, 000 spend, I bought a deal of Samsung set for my kitchen from Home Depot. It was pretty to match my granite, yet the first day, I put on and moved my magnet pieces around on the refrigerator to look pretty in position, and these scratched the paint off, not to see before it's too late. This easier than scratching your car. A paper-towel with your nails can damage this. A pan can scrap this, child tricycle or toy could scratch this, as it is so delicate you can damage it before you realize that you are doing damage and then you can't fix it. Within two days, I wanted the whole set gone from my kitchen. Yet it was Thanksgiving and could not reach anyone to help me. Then called and told Home Depot on Friday, who said that I had two days by Home depot to have it removed, not 30 days. IT was one day late on that, to call Samsung I was told as it was their problem. Home Depot said it was Samsung's problem, but they said to talk to Home Depot. That ad that says they will have it removed if unhappy is a lie. it is in my home and my problem now and I am angry every day I look at and use this. There are other things I am not happy with, but I am focused on the why I am unhappy enough to want my money back on the whole set. Pretty is NOT durable. The front pretty look is scratched too easy for a family with children to pay 3 Thousand dollars for such. I have not had money my whole marriage, whereby to buy an expensive refrigerator. We brought home old refrigerators from someone else’s house, or from the street to fix and make it work for us. First time we had money, to buy a beautiful set. I have never had money to buy get this! I am so upset. I want it out of my house, or I will continue to tell everyone about this routinely if you do not respond. I want my money back from Home Depot or from Samsung 11/24/20 delivered, HO534-262893. Samsung worst products ever on the biggest buy ever for me and others obviously since I looked up the reviews now. I paid cash and had to wait 2 months to get delivery, and with in 2 days I wanted to return the whole set of refrigerator dishwasher, microwave. And gas stove, $3800 was to be a deal, but it reminds me of the YUGO without it car I bought years ago, JUNK that looked good at first. Well this was as fast as you take the plastic wrap off and put your magnets on it to arrange to see them take the paint of the finish just by moving them around. It’s called pretty dumb to buy such if you like to buy magnets to put on your refrigerator, which I do. I made a scratch deep enough not to be able to fix it with one move, on the first day I had the frig installed. I can only imagine what my grandkids will do to the refrigerator in a very short time. The refrigerator door does not stay closed, so my milk is going bad in a short time, there is no light behind numbers on the microwave, and I have to turn on lights at night to use it, and even then it is so light it is hard to read. The whole set is made of the same finish that will be destroyed in less than a week in most houses that have children. I did not have a kid do this, but I did it not thinking such would happen. So even the gas stove I do not want to keep. The dishwasher is made out of the same delicate material. I will never want to buy a set ever again. So I want the whole set removed, after paying for the install that I am still going to be out. My whole marriage I have been so poor with 4 kids, I have been stuck buying other peoples throw always, and those lasted us for years, so you know what I think of this. I am a good customer of Home Depot, but this Samsung set is crap, I will not keep in my house un less forced. I called to have this removed in 2 days of the install…. Couldn’t report it until Thanksgiving was over, worried my food would spoil. I see the happiness policy on Home Depot, so I am counting on this to be working, as I want this returned to get my money back. NO response as it appears still to be our problem.
elliott 47 in media electric fireplace tv stand

interior door wrong order and trifold door damaged, charged more... puzzled
At the beginning I ordered interior doors with Andrea and Bernadette Pair in person, in Westminster, Colorado last Feb. 19, 2017. I m hearing impaired, I showed Tom what I want thru a book of doors. Sometimes he talked to me I told him to write it down please. I can't read his lips. When the order arrived for a month, I stopped by to see if the doors are specific I want. I was bummed I told Andrea that the doors were not exactly I want, wrong order. So Andrea and her boss Sue who took care of the issue, it was put off again. I told them about promo code, they said don't worry. When the door arrive, the promo code will start. I have not received the statement till April 2017 but I want to make sure if the doors arrive or not. till May 2017. They added more amounts again, I think the contractor picked up some materials that costs me more for 876.60 dollars. The total billing was 3, 550.00 from the started. The contractor came in with doors/supplies to installed in June, but he had accidently drilled my trifold door wrong one, he covered the white holes. It looks terrible, I called Michelle Griffin, customer order specialist about the trifold door. She said sorry about that and will give me 200 dollars off for Trifold doors. I checked the statement again, they didn't. I want someone to review my statements please, and Id like to have the promo code till I almost pay off 1, 400 something in Feb 2019 I thought they changed the date and month for promo code till November 2019. All the sudden, what happened? Will you help me to fix or review the statement or send it to someone who will review all the statements and why the contractor charged me more and more?
I called different clients thru Home Depot Customer Service thousand times since Feb 2019, they didn't even help or figure it out as usual I was disputed about the promo code to delay and what happened to 200 dollars off for the trifold door Michelle mentioned. Now she is not working there anymore, Melissa took over her place. I called her several times and left her my message. I am so frustrated. Can we discuss thru the phone about this situation?
credit card 24 month deferred credit promotion
Two years ago on November 26, 2017 I went to Home Depot here in Houston, the Willowbrook store looking to purchase flooring. I found the flooring I wanted, the sales person's name was Dolly. (I have the original paperwork and sales receipt showing the discount). They had a 24 month deferred interest promotion. I told the salesperson I did not want the promotion in case it couldn't be paid off in 24 months instead I asked for a 10% off discount. Dolly called Citibank while in my presence and was told it had to be done at the time the purchase was rang up. Dolly then called the person who was the store manager at the time and was told to give me the discount and gave her instructions, she said, to ring the purchase up. We went to the front of the store to customer service and she rang the sale up herself and I was assured the promotion would not be applied.
I have been making payments on my account for two years thinking I was paying the interest along with the purchase month to month only to find out two days ago November 27, 2019 when I received my new statement due Jan 10, 2020, that two years back interest had been applied along with additional over the limit fees, etc. have been applied as well. I called Citibank and was told two bad the promotion was applied anyway without my knowledge or consent and you have to pay off $2100+ for the flooring. They said it was the stores problem. I called the store and was told they had no control of those promotions they belong to Citibank although I was given the discount in lieu of the promotion.
I am 69 retired and trying to refinance my house but won't be able to make these outrageous payments I thought I would not have and will now cost me hundreds of dollars in lower interest on my house because of the negative reports on my credit bureau reports and won't be able to refinance my house.
shipping conditions
I have ordered multiple items from Home Depot for delivery. When these products arrive the boxes are often in bad shape and are filthy. Bringing these into my house tracks in dirt, dust, and grease, just from the outside of the packaging. When purchasing a charcoal grill, the packaging was ripped and torn, and parts of the grill were bend and deformed, which had to be fixed in order to assemble the grill. I also recently received a fire pit which had a torn box. Hardware had fallen out of the box and was on the ground nearby. The product was also scratched and damaged from what looked like a fall. It is very frustrating to receive products in this condition and I hope Home Depot will improve.
dryer delivery
My wife and I purchased a dryer in Rock Hill, S.C. to be delivered 3 December and was not delivered. After not being able to reach the delivery company, a second delivery date was scheduled by Home Depot for 13 December. Once again, there was no delivery. We visited Home Depot Saturday and spoke to "Rob" who is a store manager. He said he would pass it off to another manager. He wasn't helpful at all and didn't seem to care. He said there had been several complaints about deliveries, but the company was closed during the weekend. We still have not spoken to anyone from Home Depot.
My wife took time off twice for this delivery. We have been spending time and money using a laundry map during this holiday season while we have family visiting in addition to our two kids. If we don't get a reasonable compensation, we will cancel our order and take our business elsewhere. Thank you for your time.
flooring installation
Have life through vinyl laminate flooring installed. There were a couple of defective tiles. Installer came out cut up floor and still was not laying correct. He had to re cut again and he cut through my perfect tile underneath wrecking it. He could not get it to lay flat. Submitted photos manager said it was installation error and sent out a another installer their best however he made it even worst. My ring of video surveillance camera has picked up the entire conversation and installation. Conversation with store manager and installer that all the seams are lifting it's not laying right it's either our product and definitely an installation issue that it either needs to be all ripped up and relaid or credited back that I should not accept it this way. Now I am getting the run around. Home depot uses USIG installation group. They have made up lies to the Better Business Bureau saying it is not an installation Hara but yet I had it on recording from the installers and the manager of home depot and district manager as well. I am done getting the run around I would be very wary of using home depot's installation company
We recently moved to Berlin Center Ohio, bought our new home, and came to Home Depot on 13 November 2019 to order new carpets for our three small bedrooms. One month later, 12 December 2019, we receive a call from the Home Depot in Austintown, informing us that our carpet is still back ordered, with no delivery date in sight. We have completely renovated our home, with the exception of our Home Depot carpeting, while we've been waiting. We are both long time, big spending, senior citizens, that have always taken our business to Home Depot first. Today we cancelled on $3K order and will be taking ALL of our future home need business elsewhere. One month, with no date in sight? Sad that you treat any customer this way but, as a US Navy Veteran (21 years), and as a Senior Citizen, I just expected common courtesy and professionalism. Home Depot and the Austintown store are pathetic.
Greg Hill
tool rental department
I went this store to rent a plumbing power rod, the employee name Haijdake, I may spell his name wrong. First he refused rent the tool to me, he ask me to hire a plumber to rent it. I told him that I rented many times before, why he refuse rent it to me? Since this tool doesn't have any requirements who can rent it, he agree to rent to me eventually.
After the paper work, he refused to help me use the small lifter in the room to load it for me, his excuse was there are other people behind me, he has to serve other people first. He asked to go prodesk seeking help! There are no such thing! He just helped a customer right before me to unload tools, why he can't help me.
There is no such thing as they got to serve other people first before they finish the current customer. If so, why he leave me in the room and helping the man just before me?
I strongly feel that he discriminated me vs the other customers. I believe it is unlawful especially for the company like Home depot. It is very wrong.
Please take this matter seriously and do an investigation, I believe there is video in the store can tell you what was happening.
I can be reach at [protected] or via email at [protected]@yahoo.com. I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.
saturday delivery
I went to your Fayetteville arkansas location to order some lumber to be delivered on dec. 5th and was told by an associate that, that location didnt offer Saturday deliveries. I know that all other stores deliver on saturday and wondered, 1 why doesnt the Fayetteville store & 2 does corporate know. I ultimately had to have my lumber delivered from Lowe's. I just thought you'd like to know
Correction the delivery was supposed to be on saturday dec. 7th
service
I went to Home Depot recently and made a purchase. I gave them my veterans card and was told that Home Depot no longer offers a military discounts to veterans who aren't retired. This is very concerning as I am a war veteran who fought for my country's freedom. Why would Home Depot try refuse a discount to a veteran whether they are retired or served less than 20 years. I'm extremely disappointed in your decisions to make a distinction between a veteran and a retired veteran. I will be taking my business to Lowe's and other stores because of this.
