As an ex-employee I can say that HIT Web Design, formerly known as Heritage Web Solutions, was once a great company to work for. Unfortunately this is no longer the case.

I had worked there for 2 and a half years and in the past year, HIT (who changed their name to run away from their bad reputation) has seriously gone down hill. It supposedly all started when customers began charging back on their credit cards due to a flurry of bad complaints in a scared economy (which actually never happened, they are just very greedy).

Needless to say the company is ran very unprofessionally. They were once the leaders in custom website design but have now abandoned their business model...

When you treat your employees so poorly they will not give the customers the kind of help they need. That is why there are so many customer and employee complaints.

This all has now come to a head as Utah's ABC4 News will soon be airing an investigative report on how HIT Web Design has lied and cheated their customers. The ABC4 News crew showed up Friday October 16th to interview employees on what has been going on.

The air date has yet to be released so please contact Annie Cutler of ABC4 News to express your disgust with HIT Web Design/ Heritage Web Solutions at [protected]@abc4.com

Let's make sure HIT Web Design will not continue doing this to customers!

HIT Web Design will do whatever they need to in order to safe face and the company as a whole. No matter what, we all know their business is going down the toilet when all they do is ask for more and more from their customers and employees and give nothing in return.

Dave Aitken, CEO at HIT, is ignorant to think that just because employees make good money (or atleast used to), that it is considered treating them fairly. Is that fair? NO!

Well said. HIT's customers have no idea how bad it really is there and its disgusting how HIT management are such cowards as to deny the truth that has mounted up before them.

They should just "man up", "dial the phone" and admit they are the ### we all know they are!

Someone who knows, it seems you have some great perspective on this. I do not apologize for anything that I've said but I should not have called Dave and Jeremy "uneducated idiots". It is not easy to create a business as successful as HIT once was.

It is disappointing that they have abused their power and have got so greedy over time.

Someone who knows, thank you for your words, integrity and honesty.

What a good way to discredit everything, "grow up please". But it all ties into speech patterns, which, by nature, cannot be manipulated. all the postings have very distinct, and different, speech patterns. you know that "grow up please" is Dave Aitken..

Now Dave, you know you can not speak out of both sides of your mouth, even though we know you try! You would send emails stating that our compensation was so good we couldn't find work anywhere else to make the money we needed to support our families. That was EXTREMLEY intimidating and the money was the only thing that kept us there. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE WERE NOT WALKING OUT!

You would also tell us that there was no where to go and it was a dead job market but we are welcome to leave if we were unhappy. WHAT A MIND GAME! HOW DECEPTIVE!

I was told by a manager that they "only need one more paycheck and im out of here!"

Now Dave, dont do what everyone thinks you are going to do and flip out. I would sit down with your managers, suck up to them and let them know how much you appreciate them.

Or, maybe you could send one of your oh-so-powerful threatening emails. This is your choice...

Update by stopthegreed

Just to reitterate, "donebeingbullied" is referring to Dave Aitken's, aka "GrowUpPlease", threat to Bryce Turpin.

Dave was assumptive, as usual, in stating that Bryce is posting while he is at work.

I am paraphrasing as this thread is becoming VERY long...

Ryan, you are a smart guy and have been nothing but helpful to employees who asked you for help at anytime. I am sorry that they stuck you in the middle of this.

By your understanding you know HIT management to be reasonable and sensitive. You have never (for atleast the 2 and a half years i worked there) had close association with the sales team and how it was ran.

Please don't put yourself out there saying that HIT management is reasonable and sensitive. You dont have the capabilities to make a blanket statement like that. You have no idea what hell everyone on the sales team went through to bring in the money to support their families! There was even a sales manager who was constantly humiliated just to "motivate" the sales team. How sad is that?! This same sales manager was very sick one day and was forced to come in. He puked in front of everyone! How embarrassing!

THAT IS NOT SENSITIVE OR FAIR AND THIS ALL HAPPENED ALL THE TIME!

I know you have a nice family to support and need to protect the place you work at but please dont make blanket statements when crap like that is happening.

Update by stopthegreed
Oct 25, 2009 12:46 am EDT

Also, why would HIT need to be told to be more sensitive or aware of family emergencies? That is basic business ethics.

The mere psychology of your post lets us all know that you are somewhat siding with us subconsciously, most likely due to the lack of training management/supervisors are given.

Every single person at HIT is encouraged to sell.

Just in the past week there has been a major change. There is no sales team!

The sales team has been absolved and lumped in to the account managers department.

Does this sound like a company that may have a problem here or there and may "stub their toe" once in a while? NO!

This all just makes the comments by HIT management all that more laughable.

It just goes to show that HIT is in a state of disrepair.

Not sure if Greg is unemployed by HIT - or if he's just working from home to save face for the company... Why would a company with this much greed ever actually get rid of someone who can manipulate an old lady with a severance check to use her social security check to line their pockets? ... hmmm... perhaps someone should try calling their sales line and ask for him, you might be surprised at the results.. unless you are familiar with the company. Then you wouldn't be surprised at all when they get him on the phone.

Yes and its a bunch of crap... just disregard it with a laugh and ignore it. There is nothing they can do to you. There is so much evidence that they are horrible, unethical business owners that would be foolish to even think about pursuing "legal action" against you.

Before I left on my own free will, months actually, HIT was hitting $30-40, 000 in revenue daily! This was expected and it was quite dreadful to management when we fell below this norm.

Now the latest from the HIT sales team... 3 days in a row at $12000 in revenue or less!

Having worked there 2 and a half years, 3 horrible days is deffinitley hurting their business. I've even got word from some employees that customers are sending links to reps from specific complaints done right here on complaintsboard.com.

These customers are demanding their accounts be cancelled! Let's hope this trend continues...

idiotswillalwayscomplain,

im sorry you are stuck at HIT. Obviously you have no where else to go. I'm sorry if we are harming the place you work at and we all would be mad if we were still there too because it would be hurting our paycheck.

The truth is, I have great friends that work there and they are amazing salespeople. Heck, I might even know you! We are not here to destroy your paycheck, in fact HIT is already doing that to you. We do not want you to fail but we do want HIT to change their ways. At HIT we had no voice! This is the only voice we have for the time being. Hopefully all of our collective complaints have been heard through out the state and government agencies we have made them to. There is only one way to fix HIT and hopefully bring it back to the positioning it was once in...

The Aitkens must go. I don't even think that is possible since they own a majority of the company from my understanding, but it is the only way. They once had HIT in a great position and it was the best place to work, now they have ran it in to the ground.

I really wish you the best of luck. There are many options for employment, employment that will pay you and treat well for the effort you put in.

wow "culture of fear" describes HIT perfectly.

By the way, Mark Strong and other HIT management have told their sales reps to say the same things to clients as Mark presented in the interview.

Its all fluff to make people feel good. The customer does not buy it in the end.

It may have worked for Mark because he is a nice, stately man who was speaking face to face with the news anchor. This is also why it hasn't aired.

I QUIT after the let one of the top consistant performers on the sales team go. This guy was awesome. He was always in the top 3 sales people pay period after pay period. Great guy with a nice wife and a few kids.

He was let go as an example that we were all expendable!

How sick is that! I was near tears to see him walk out, knowing he was going to have to go home, tell his wife he was fired and then hunt for a new job when he had kids to feed. I could not work for people that are vendictive as they are.

If you go to HIT management and try to talk about making $600 on a paycheck when you have earned them $20, 000 in a pay period is unfair they will say "So what?! We have kids to feed too!" (direct words from Jeremy Aitken). Keep in mind a pay period that productive would yeild a sales person atleast a check between $[protected] before management got greedy.

HIT sure is GREAT!

My_Compaint,

The reason they haven't been able to push our comments away is because they no next to nothing in regards to search engine optimization.

They follow antiquated SEO principles. They still think that meta keywords are KING! HIT tells their sales people to tell the customer that only custom sites can be optimized but templates easily can.

That will soon change as they are switching to template sites starting January 1, 2010.

TO MEDICINE AND ALL OTHERS WHO ARE TRYING TO DEFEND HIT...

It doesn't matter what you say or do at this point. You came in to this thread to late in the ball game!

This thread has been optimized for many phrases that are being searched when family, friends, ex-employees, customer, ex-customers and current employees search for "hit web design abc4". Just Google it.

Now if we do a quick search for "bad business abc4" (as we all know ABC4 is known for their investigative reports and consumer call to action stories) we pull HIT Web Design up in the number 2 spot. Ouch.

And YIKES! When we search for our favorite web design company under their new name "HIT Web Design" we find complaints immediatley under their own site. Bummer.

Sorry guys, try as you might but you are screwed.

Your business is failing and you are watching the ruins crumble.

Try doing something legitimate about it. You guys must be in real bad shape if you need to get on this board and monitor every little thing people are saying about you.

I wonder if the CEO of Wal-Mart does this?

By the way, accoridng to a source who is still at HIT Web Design, at te begginning of the year they had 400 employees and now they have about a tenth of that left!

January first there were 25 sales representative on the "sales team" now there are 7.

What a wonderful company! I'm glad to see they are doing so well.

HIT Web Design SCAM & 60 Minutes
Jennifer Lawson - North Hollywood (United States of America)

SUBMITTED: Friday, December 25, 2009 POSTED: Friday, December 25, 2009 on /link removed/

Has anyone contacted news shows like 60 Minutes with this? Certainly, if the entire group of people here contacted this show they might look into this company. Obviously, the CEO doesn't care about his customers, or he would have taken action so that the same problems weren't happening over and over and over.

There is no concern for public relations here, other than a shallow response by someone each time one of these complaints is filed. Apparently, this company feels completely safe in scamming people on the internet. And there have been enough of us suckers who paid in advance for a web site that was never to be developed, instead of waiting to pay after the web site was finished. So many that they are making a killing ripping off people's money and producing nothing in return.

Someone here said the FBI had been contacted. Well if they won't take action without a show like 60 Minutes exposing this company, then they have a way of taking interest when a show like that exposes this illegal practice. I am contacting them tomorrow. I would encourage the rest of you to do so to.

I purchased for $3000.00 a web site data base be built January of 2009 and as of yet one year later I have received nothing but a site that does not do what it is suppose to. I have been in contact with them through emails that are not returned and phone calls that are not returned. They gave me a link to the site to look at stuff and approve it, but the site is not even actually usable to know if it will work. It is a site that is not a site. A sample of what my site will look like without actually doing anything. I have them on recording telling me how they are working on things and assigning people to my site, however, nothing ever gets done. Let me put it this way, If you are thinking that maybe they are not a SCAM company, I would avoid doing business with them for the simple fact they are unable to even keep in contact with you. It may seem that they are working diligently, however there will come a point in time when they can no longer feed you a line of BULL and that's when the communication on there part ends. and the double talk starts

If you are a victim of Hit Web Design's tactics I recommend using the following formula!

Step One you call your bank or credit card company and you file a charge back! Dispute the charges from Heritage Web Solutions
Step Two file a formal complaint with the Utah Attorney General's Office.
Step Three contact the Utah Valley BBB office and file a formal complaint with them.
Step Four contact your local media outlet and inform them of the tactics that Hit Web Design has used.
Step Five POST all over the internet. And share your results!

HIT Web Design Hertigage Web Solutions COMPLETE SCAM! DO NOT HIRE provo, Utah

Submitted: Friday, December 18, 2009
Posted: Friday, December 18, 2009

This company is a complete scam! I hired them over two months ago to do a website for my company. They charged over $2400 to my credit card and now ARE NOT RETURNING MY CALLS OR EMAILS. I have done everything I can do- I call and email at least once a day and no one responds. HOWEVER, almost daily they have the GALL to send me a spam email to ask how their customer service is! PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THEM UNLESS YOU HAVE MONEY TO THROW IN THE GARBAGE. The one person I talked to (who wouldnt give me her name) ADMITTED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH PROGRAMMERS TO COMPLETE THEIR JOBS AND SHE HAD NO IDEA WHEN SOMEONE WOULD START MY WEBSITE! She acknowledged that they were aware that I was VERY unhappy and told me their was nothing that she could do. She also refused to transfer me to a manager stating that "she couldnt transfer to a manager, only my account rep". (The same guy, Kaden Jensen who wont return my calls or emails!)

Check them with the Better Business Bureau- you will find that they have numerous complaints. Im sure the number would be higher if they didnt use various business names. The people I have dealt with SPECIFICALLY who you should stand clear of are:: Quin Hout, Kaden Jensen, Joe Nielsen, and Autumn T.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM.

HIT Web Design, Heritage Internet Technologies IS A SCAM

They advertise a web site for $199 and once you call they sell you services that boost the cost to over $1, 200. They do not work on your site but they charge your card. After NEVER receiving the product you paid for, they string you along about why they can't refund your money, once you request a refund. You will receive various emails from a "Carlos Kidman" telling you about some bogus process they go through in refunds to keep you quiet, but you will never see the funds hit your account or any product

There is a bogus review process, then you are in line for a refund, but in the end you get nothing from them. Turn these scam artists into the FBI if you've been ripped off at: http://wwwic3.gov/default.aspx.

There is a form online that you can report these scam artists and the FBI will investigate this business. Also, file a complaint with the State of Utah, Department of Commerce, Division of Consumer Protection. They have a form you can download to mail in.

DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOSE MONEY. YOU WILL NEVER SEE A WEB SITE OR YOUR MONEY AGAIN IF YOU DO!

I entered into a contract agreement with HIT Web Design (formerly known as Hertiage Web Solutions) to build an e-commerce sight, 1stopclearance.com, on Nov. 20, 2009. On November 23 Mr. Rick Visser introduced himself as my account manager and forwarded the user name, password and web link for me to fill-out the needed text explaining my company. Later Mr. Kaden Jensen contacted me and stated he was my account manager. The text information needed from me was submitted 48 hours later and I received a congratulation stating I would be contacted within 3 to 4 business days regarding the designing of my web site. On December 3 I called Mr. Kaden Jensen and explained to him the web link given me to view progress, make changes, etc, stated that there was no project pending regarding my web site. He stated the license had not been purchased and he did not know when they would be purchased. He went further to state that after the license was obtained he did not know how long it would be before it went to a programmer, and that the name on my account was not correct (they had it listed as harper instead of hopper, but the sign-in password stated hopp34. At that point I felt that I was being taken, no part of my initial conversation with the sales agent or two account managers was even close to the process I was told. I asked that the contract be cancelled and the monies paid be refunded. Mr. Jansen transferred me to Ms. Elisa, Senior Customer Service Rep. I explained to her my reason for cancelling. She stated she could obtain the time frame the license would be purchased, but could not obtain when it would go to programming. I went forward with the cancellation and refund request. Later that day I received the cancellation request from Ms. Elisa, in which she stated a supervisor would be contacting me, no one ever has. I have sent one e-mail request and left one voicemail with Ms. Elisa to contact me regarding my refund, she has not as of 7:30 PM CST Dec. 8. I am asking that the refund be credited back to my credit card that it was drafted from. The statements I have made can be confirmed with the e-mails received from HIT Web Design employees and on the web link.

Don't every trust Heritage Web Solutions to design your site! Heritage will sucker you in by offering you a 5 page custom made site for $200.00. Sounds like a good deal right? Wrong? It took them roughly a month to set me up with a 4 page website :( They also want to nickel and dime you to death for web contact forms over a certain length. What really sets Heritage Web Solutions apart though is they tried to bill me for a site that was not even on the internet much less completed!

It gets even better. The website that Heritage Web Solutions did create for me looked like it came from a children's coloring book? It amazes me that a company that supposedly does unique custom websites could stay in business for so long? I would have been better off using a template from a template site.

If you think this is enough to make you upset don't bothering asking for any type of refund! Customer service is non-existent and they will gladly ignore you. If you want real freelance experts to work on your site go to Guru.com. That way you will not be paying Heritage Web Solutions to ignore your needs.

Wow. After checking out the posts on this site (which was one of the first Google results, right above this question!), I wouldn't work for them, hire them, or even click on their name again. If you're asking "will you get paid?" I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing you might. If the question is, "will you be involved with scamming people out of their money, " I think the answer is quite probably. And people who are willing to scam customers are generally willing to scam employees.

So I did something I never do, which is click on a Google ad, and then I did something I _really_ never do, which is answer an ad for "work at home" work. I got an e-mail back from Heritage Web Solutions with a freelance work-at-home web design gig. A google search shows that they are a real company based on Utah and that some people like them and some people hate them, but I can't find anything about whether the work at home thing is really legit or if it's somehow a rip-off. This falls into the gray area of "might be good, probably a rip-off" so I'm curious to see if anyone knows anything more about this.

3. So, he took me to his Supervisor on the phone, Mr Nielsen who personally Assured me not to worry and that he will personally make sure I am given top service

4. So, I signed up on the phone on Sept 15 for their 5 page website project for me for $300

5. And I agreed to pay them half ie $150 as PART PAYMENT and pay them the Rest ie $150 AFTER THEY COMPLETE THE JOB TO MY SATISFACTION

6. The following day, Sept 16, Rob sent me an email confirming the above service and sent me a Link to their site to UPLOAD my Content to their Site for their Designer to use to design my five page site for me which I did the same day

7. After that, I waited and waited and waited without the promised designer . Then Jeff emailed me saying they have received my Content and that the Designer will be contacting me very soon for the Job to start

8. After that, I waited and waited and waited without any designer and while I was waiting and without my knowledge they withdrew on Sept 15, $150 from my account as part payment for their Job

9. And on Sept 16, WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION AND KNOWLEDGE, THEY WITHDREW ANOTHER $119.88 which later I learned was for one year ADVANCE WEB HOSTING FEE FOR A SITE THEY HAVE NOT YET BUILT FOR ME

10. And on Oct 16, 2008 and WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION AND KNOWLEDGE AND AFTER I WROTE THEM CANCELLING MY SERVICE/ORDER, THEY SECRETLY WITHDREW ANOTHER $150 WHICH I WAS SUPPOSED TO PAY THEM ONLY AFTER THEY HAVE COMPLETED THE JOB TO MY SATISFACTION

11. But as soon as I discovered what they were doing, I cancelled my order or service on the ground of NON-PERFORMANCE OR LACK OF THE 100% CUSTOMER SATISFACTION THEY GUARANTEED ME

12. So, I asked them to send me back all the 3 Funds they have withdrawn from my account and after a week of email arguments, they finally returned the $119.88 and $150 they have illegally stolen from my accounts since they did so without my AUTHORIZATION OR KNOWLEDGE .

13. And I asked them to return my $150 DOWN PAYMENT WHICH THEY REFUSED TO DO UP TILL NOW,

14. I told them down payment is not a GIFT to their company but a down payment for a SERVICE THEY DID NOT PERFORM, SO, COMMON SENSE DICTATES THAT THEY RETURN MY DOWN PAYMENT TO ME

15. I wrote TWICE Jeff's supervisor, Mr Nielsen to get his company to return my down payment but he never once REPLIED ME

16. Instead one Jerrica wrote me and telling me all kinds of LIES why they could not return my Down payment like

17. I signed electronically at the time I ordered the service that I AGREE TO FORFEIT MY DOWN PAYMENT IN CASE I CANCEL MY ORDER FOR WHICH THEY HAVE GIVEN ME 100% CUSTOMER SATISFACTION GUARANTEE

18. Which is not true since I did not sign up for the service at their site but only on the PHONE so, it is not possible to sign something electronically over the phone

19. And instead getting my refund to me, Jerrica sent me a statement saying I agreed not to file complaint against their company which I told her I have not signed anything to that effect and confirm to them that their company law is subject to the FED CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW which says that if you buy something over the phone that turns out to be zero, you are free to return it for your MONEY BACK . But Jerrica refused to send me back my Refund

20. So, I wrote the Company owner Mark last Friday, Oct 31 to get his company to return my down payment or I will use all the legal reliefs available to get their company to return my fund . But up to today, Nov 6, I never heard from him

21. Hence, I am filing this report to get a class action lawyer who will be interested in conducting research on this company to assemble all those they have ripped off and for us to come together to file a class action law suit against this company .

22. I am also filing all the Reports I can get against this company at Federal, State and City level and will continue to do so UNTIL THEY COME TO THEIR SENSES AND RETURN MY $150 TO ME .

23. REFUSING TO RETURN MY DOWN PAYMENT OR DEPOSIT FOR A SERVICE I CANCELLED FOR LACK OF 100% CUSTOMER SATISFACTION THEY GUARANTEE ME AND FOR THEM TO BE USING LIES TO JUSTIFY THE UNJUSTIFIABLE IS CALLED STEALING OR SCAM OR RIP-OFF WHICH I AM COMMITTED TO MAKING SURE HERITAGE WEB SOLUTIONS GET ME BACK MY MONEY .

So, if you are a lawyer interested in looking into the matter for me and if you have been ripped off by this company in the past, Contact me at AFRIKALION AT AOL.COM for common action for REDRESS against this company .

Sincerely,

Prof. Afrikadzata Deku,

Beware of HIT Web Design, this company advertises a website built for $199 on the website, BUT NO ONE CAN BUY A WEBSITE FOR THIS ADVERTISED PRICE.

Any consumer that purchases this advertised website will be billed to pay an additional 12 months of internet hosting with this company, with or without your knowledge.

The terms of service document referred to in the communication below was not presented prior to payment and never explained by any agent of HIT Web Design.

The Communication

Consumer: Are the my account manager for my account? If so I have 5 hours of design time that I would like to use to design a new site, and update my logo.

HIT web Design: your account is in collections for one month of hosting or $9.99. If you call our accounting department then you can get that cleared and we can move forward.

The design time that you are referring to is used to make changes on the account for no cost. So yes, you can submit an update request and make changes to your site and logo.

However, update time is not sufficient when you are designing a new site. This would take a redesign package and is an additional cost which doesn't use update time.

Consumer: Your company is not hosting my site so I should not be in your collections department. Please call asap to resolve the matter.

HIT Web Design: Your website is indeed on our server so yes you are hosting with us. I am not an account manager.

I am a cancellation specialist and again your account is in collections for one month hosting and will stop everything on the account until you speak with our accounting department.

Me speaking with you would not help until after you speak with accounting.

If you need further help in this matter just call customer service ext. XXXX

Consumer: 9.99 has been paid, please please release my website information so I can move to another vendor.

HIT Web Design: After reviewing the account for the release of information, we found out that you have only paid for 3 months of hosting.

You had purchased a year of hosting but had it canceled and refunded back to you shortly after. After that we didn't resume the hosting fee of $9.99 each month because of an unfortunate billing error in our system. Along with the $9.99 that you paid today, you have only paid for 3 months and per our Terms of Service (TOS) we require 12 months of hosting paid before we can release any information.

This would be a remaining balance of $90 if you want to do that right now. You can also wait for 9 months or buyout the hosting at anytime in the future.

I cannot release any information to you.

Consumer: Please see attached invoice that shows the paid hosting, also I have never purchased 12 months of hosting from your company although an account rep with HIT Web Design did charge my credit card without my authorization, is this the cancelation you are referring? Also, I would like to talk to your manager about my account asap.

HIT Web Design: The invoice shows the year of hosting that was canceled. That is the hosting that I was talking about in the previous email. This was reviewed by our accounting department and is does show that the year of hosting was canceled. As for speaking with a manager, I report to a board of managers.

I am the highest person you can speak with concerning this because it is the job of my department and this is in accordance to the TOS that you signed agreeing to these terms.

Consumer: When I purchased my website. The terms and conditions were not represented to include a year of hosting to “own” my site. HIT has been nothing but a headache to deal with and I’m tired of dealing with a story that keeps changing depending on who I talk to, I am going to offer you one more chance to solve this issue.

Please have someone at your company who has the authority to resolve this issue contact me asap.

HIT Web Design: You will have to pay the 9 months if you would like the website files.

Consumer: When I purchased my website the HIT representative told me that I would own my site and it could be moved to any hosting provider at my discretion, also I was explained to me that I could use the design time at my discretion.

HIT Web Design: It is true that you can do what you would like with the files after you pay 12 months of hosting and complete that requirement per the TOS. It states this in our TOS very clearly.

Consumer: Attached is an Bill of Sale which details the purchase details of my account, the billing invoice which includes all items purchased & terms of service does not indicate that I am required to purchase 12 months of internet hosting.

Also, where exactly in the TOS you keep referring does it specifically state that I am required to purchase hosting with HIT for 12 months in additional to the package I purchased to own my website?

HIT Web Design: This invoice does not help me. And yes, it states it twice within the TOS. Sections 24 and 25.If you want the files than you must pay for 9 months of hosting ($90)

Consumer: I never agreed to the terms of service that you keep referring, in fact I did not receive any information regarding the terms of service until after my purchase was made and payment issued. The sales agents I worked with did not ever mention or review these terms of service or provide any details of the terms of service in written from prior to my payment.

The terms I agreed to are include in my invoice of payment, the invoice indicates 2 webpages, server set up and 3 months of hosting which has all been paid in full.

HIT Web Design: We have your acceptance here on record with your IP address so you did accept it. The TOS that you accepted are not sent in an email.

If you have paid for the site in full than that is great. But TOS states you need to have 12 months paid to have anything released.

Consumer: Show me...

HIT Web Design: I can't show you the exact place you accepted it because it only comes up when a new customer goes into the web center for the first time before going into the Online Design Packet (ODP). I have given you the link to view the TOS and we have documentation showing that you did indeed accept it. 9 months need to be paid

Consumer: Please stop telling that I accepted these terms because I know what I agreed to and what I did not, 12 months of hosting to own my site was never discussed.

Are telling me that additional fees are assumed by any customer with or without their knowledge is your business practice, which is proving to be my experience. When I ask for proof that I accepted these terms of service you cannot provide evidence to support your claim.

Are all HIT clients required to host for 12 months with your company regardless if they understand the terms or agree to the terms?

HIT Web Design: I do not need to discuss this further. Here is your proof:

IP address: XX.XXX.XXX.XX

This is a unique number that you have and is received through our TOS acceptance for future use for cases just like this. This is all we need as proof in any system.

Any customer who accepts the terms are obliged to this and it is their responsibility to read the TOS just like in every other terms of service in any company or organization.

I have told you what you need to do to get your files so you can do so or not.

Consumer: I have tried to resolve the issue without any results, last chance. If you do not release the site I purchased. I will be filing a formal complaint to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection, and The Provo Chapter of the Better Business Bureau, and the Provo Chamber of Commerce regarding HIT business practices specifically sales misrepresentation of product pricing and services offered to consumers.

The company has taken over 6 months and still not finished my website - told me it would take 2 days. I complained and they offered me a compensation package of website auditing software and then never installed it after 2 months of waiting. The customer service officer told me to email the CEO and he just ignored me despite the threat of involving a lawyer.

I am not passing this onto legal authorities to handle.

Stay well away!

I worked as a contractor for HIT doing Design and Flash work- and I think that this business from a Contractors point of view is rotten all around too. They charge an arm and a leg to customers for web-work, and pay the designers a tiny fraction of what the customer is charged. Flash banners where something like 300 to the customer and 60 to the designer- if it was a quick design job that would not be a big deal- but they make the contractors contact the clients- (whom where already annoyed at how long the process has taken or are unhappy with charges or being sold upgrades when they thought they where getting a 99 dollar web-site etc. I could go on...) then the contractors are to work and get all work approved- which is fine- but then if the clients request a load of changes or change their minds... tough luck to the designer. if you wanna get paid you need the customers approval... I invested a lot of time into this with hopes of it becoming a nice source of income on the side to help support my family in these tough times... in the end I neglected my family for a measly 60 check that came 3 weeks later than promised. All the work I did on other projects was not rewarded to me as I did not get approval or could not get in touch with project managers or the clients. HIT is a joke- which is sad because they have a great foundation and system- their project tracking system works great but their employees and customer relations are hurting. Now that I read other points of view from the full time workers its no wonder that they are so hard to get in touch with- they are being treated horrible as well.

Hey Heritage, [redacted].com is a night in shinning armor. People report the truth and companies like yours gets all bent out of shape. theres no colusion between your competitors and /link removed/ nor are the posted reports fabricated. You want the public to believe that your own employees are working with your competitors to drag your company through the mud! and you want the public to believe that all these customers with simular complaints from different parts of the country got together and fabricated their complaints, or that someone just made it all up. Please do you thing people are as stupid as you treat them. People complain, you shut them down, or send you humpty dumpty lawyer after them. you charge them for hosting their site for months and months( deliberate delays just so you CAN MOUNT UP THE HOSTING CHARGES) BEFORE THEIR SITE EVEN GOES LIVE.

YOU CHARGE PEOPLE MORE THAN WHAT YOU QUOTE FOR SITE DEVELOPEMENT AND OFTEN TELL CLIENTS THAT THEIR SITES WILL TAKE 4-TO-6 SIX WEEKS TO DEVELOPE AND THEN 8 TO 10 MONTHS LATER THEY ARE STILL WAITING FOR A CUSTOM SITE. WHEN THEY DO GET IT, IT MOST LIKELY DOES'N WORK PROPERLY, IT'S NOT COMPATABLE WITH MOST OTHER INTERNET PROGRAMS LIKE ADSENCE, ADWORDS ECT. AND MORE OFTEN THAN NOT IT'S SUBTANDARD WORK.

EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE YOU SCORE BIG TIME WITH A TOTALY UNIQUE SITE AND YOU ADVERTIZE THE HECK OUT OF THAT CUSTOMERS COMENTS.

( WHY NOT POST THE COMMENTS FROM THOSE CUSTOMERS WHO WERE VERY DISGUSTED?)

YOU MAY HAVE A LOW RATIO OF COMPLAINTS ACCORDING TO YOU BUT HOW MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT BEING RIPPED OFF ARE ACCEPTABLE? MORE THAN 1 IS TOO MANY. AND YOU HAVE A HECK OF A LOT OF THOSE TYPE OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT CUSTOMERS PAYING FOR WEB SITE DEVELOPEMENT THEY NEVER GOT.

IT'S ONE THING TO TO HAVE PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE WORK ( AND YOU HAVE A LOT OF THEM ) BUT TAKING PEOPLES MONEY AND NOT PROVIDING THE SERVICE IS A WHOLE OTHER BALL GAME.

IF [redacted].COM IS DOING WHAT YOU SAY THEN WHY HAVN'T YOU SENT MR. LEGAL BEAGLE AFTER THEM.?

MAYBEE CAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE A LEG TO STAND ON. wE THING THEY PROVIDE A GREAT SERVICE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE DIDICATED TO GETTING COMPANIES LIKE YOUR IN THE PUBLIC EYE.

ONE MORE THING ! GOING THROUGH THE TIME AND EXPENCE OF SENDING OUT PRESS RELEASES ABOUT HOW GREAT YOUR COMPANY IS AND HOW FAST YOU ARE GROWING AND HOW BAD [redacted].COM AND COMPANIES LIKE THEM ARE JUST SHOWS HOW hard your pocket book is getting hurt and now posting the self serving comments by Brad Stone the ceo of Heritage about how good a company you are and wonderful it is to work there is just amazing.

Heritage Web Solutions puts every resource into resolving customer complaints. After all Heritage Web Solutions wants to have a long term business relationship with all of our customers.

Do not always take someone else's complaint at face value. There are complaint websites such as [redacted]s and Complaints Board, that allow people to post anything they want, whether it is factual or not. They do not verify who the person is or if the complaint is valid. There are even some competitors that will go as far as to post defamatory and fictitious information under fake names on complaint sites. Most responsible websites will remove such posts. The bottom line is do your homework. Give the company a fair review. Complaint websites are not always what they appear to be. Some have been accused of trying to charge large amounts of money to remove or fix complaints posted on their sites. There is a customer that has had a vendetta against Heritage Web Solutions and has used [redacted]s and other complaints forums to further his cause. Heritage Web Solutions did everything in its power to satisfy this customer, even giving a full refund, transferring the domain into a separate account so he could point the domain to another host and giving him access to the website files. Heritage Web Solutions did everything short of moving his site to another host for him. At one point the customer was totally satisfied and said so in writing.

By Ex Employee in Bountiful, Utah

I doubt that they will go anywhere. They have a horrible reputation with their ex employees. They are all about quantity, they could care less about quality. Their managers push to get over 30 live a day, 30! They want a design (banner and layout) done in 30 minutes, and the HTML page done within 20 minutes, for every site! How can you get good quality work with that? Once a client has "approved" their site, and maybe a couple days later wants a change, good luck, it takes at least 2-3 weeks to get the easiest things taken care of. They are understaffed for the ammount of clients they hold. They are a cheap company, paying designers crap for what they get put through. They won't hire more to cover what they need, instead they will overwhelm their employees. After working with them for over a year I would strongly reccomend to anyone not to use their company. Look somewhere else. Smaller companies might not be as well known, but chances are they have more one on one time with you in providing a good website.

Take the money and run!

Complaint Rating:
I will post more later but it has been nothing but broke promises and lie after lie. I am personally looking at legal action since Heritage Web Solutions have cost me a few days of sales due to their lack of follow up.

I just love Tech support that keeps saying they will have to check with someone else because they do not know. I would say e-mail me but my e-mail is not working at this time. Their server is refusing to work.

Ms. Skidmore,

Let me start by saying that upon viewing our completed sight, I was highly disgusted! Your company has done nothing but delay and destroy the timeline and vision established for this project. If this is the fashion in which your business is always run, I do not understand how Heritage is still active.

You called me on Friday asking for the information for our store. We sent you a two minute re-draft but because I'm actually doing work compared to those of you at Heritage, it had completely slipped my mind that I had already sent the entire web-site layout to your good friend Robert.

I am aware of how close you two are and I guess that is the reason for the apparent sabotage to our website. I am convinced that Heritage is not just unable, but too incompetent to complete even such a simple task. Please explain to me how the information I provided to Robert even remotely resembles what you put on our site. Yes, I like the colors and the layout, but where is the content I submitted?!

I even sat on the phone with both Shane and Robert providing them with sample sites (prisongap.org, peterpanbus.com) and they still didn't get it right. How does the store provided to us reflect the purchase options and task on those sites? We basically paid $2, 500 plus...for a damn template!

Robert sent me this whole long message about being sure to submit all the content by April 6th. Then he sent me another email asking me to confirm that everything I had sent him was all we were asking to be put on our site. After all of that, the information we submitted still never got on our site! What the hell is going on in Utah? I am beyond disgusted. Empire Transit has close to sixteen different contracts with state and government agencies.

The owner also just started a high power fm radio station, a cable network, and a real estate company. You have no idea how much money could have been in this for Heritage but at this point, I wouldn't even refer Heritage to my enemies. I expect the changes to be made according to the information I am submitting AGAIN which is below. I would suggest that these changes be made and that this site be complete and correct by the end of Monday's business day.

18 days ago by Janet Boydell [send email to the author]

Wow, I wish I had seen this site before I agreed to the Heritage Web Solutions agreement. I have been charged in full, and am paying monthly hosting fees for a website that does NOT work, I have NO Logo or Banner, and I BEGGED them to make it go live so that I could go in to fix all of the content they screwed up. I am shocked they are still in business. I cancelled my service and to add insult to injury they emailed me to say I'm responsible for a year's hosting and I'm only a couple of weeks live.

This is unbelievable...how can they get away with this? I feel it is extortion! They say they'll do something, but I have dozens of emails and made dozens of calls without return. I actually feel as though they do all of this on purpose just to get the year of fees. Can anyone help us?

Is there a District Attorney in Utah that has the guts to look into their practices. I've NEVER had to a point where I was this outraged and actually write something like this. Can anyone help or make a suggestion about my rights? Thank you! Janet

15 days ago by Alan Wear [send email to the author]

I am in agreement with Janet. I contracted with Heritage almost a year ago, and I still do not have anything more than a placeholder site with some text and pretty pictures. Email doesn't work, no shopping cart that does anything, several blank pages saying "coming soon!", and now I am told to see the "terms of service" when I asked for a refund.

Basically, at the bottom of the TOS, is says that if they do ANYTHING, they don't owe you a dime! What happened to the "100% Satisfaction Guarantee" that is posted on their own website? I would also be interested in pursuing some kind of legal action, and am starting to get everything together to give to my attorney and see what he thinks. Any other suggestions?

My experience with this company was almost exactly as other describe. It took Heritage 18 months to complete my website. When it was finally "live" I did not immediately chek to see if it could be googled. Customers called me to complain they could not find my site. To my disgust, I found Heritage had failed to make my site available to search engines.

I found out from my friend's husband (he builds websites) that my site did not contain a page containing metatags. The tags enable search engines like google to find and list your websites presence on the web.

I contacted Heritage and asked them to correct the problem. They told me they did not "promote" websites. I explained I only wanted what they had agreed to provide in the beginning - a presence on the web with search engines able to find me. I had talked about this frequently as the site was being built. They had assured me they would provide that service. Why they don't is puzzling since their site can be googled.

When I complained they shut down my site without my agreement. They refused to refund the $700 I paid for the site. This has cost me a lot in business. The web address is in the phone book and when customers go there it is shut down. Very embaressing. They don't call me. My income has dropped as a result.

I worked at Heritage Web as well. Like you said, the owners and many of the employees are VERY nice people. But it was one of the most
stressful jobs I could have ever had. Most professional graphic designers only need to get approximately 2 designs done per week... but at Heritage we were pushed to get 4 designs out each day. They told us to spend no more than 30 minutes on the initial design. This was a very difficult thing for me to get used to - as I'm picky about the quality of graphics I make - and you just can't crank out a beautiful website in 30 minutes.

They can't keep employees because of the huge amount of stress involved in this job. They need to 1) hire a group of people to be solely
responsible for customer service calls (don't make the graphic/web designers answer random phone calls all day while trying to get 4 designs completed) - and create more of a professional environment with PROFESSIONAL
expectations (2 designs/week would make more sense) rather than having that sort of sweatshop feel.

This is only increased by the fact that
they don't require that you know HTML or Photoshop very well (or at all) when hiring you (which might be because of employees quitting all the time.)

Anyway, I've blabbed far too long. I really respect a lot of the people who work there, but there's a lot of work that needs to be done before I can see myself working there again.

We purchased website packages from Heritage Web Solutions so that HWS could design multiple sites featuring our wedding designs and products
in July 2006. When we started this process we were promised that all the test sites would be completed for us to review for any corrections
before the actual sites were launched within 30 days.

Not only was the deadline missed, but by ecember 2006 we saw samples of each site that were going to be completed by December 20, but we noticed there were many pictures missing, there were no meta tags or links to products, and there were prices and descriptions missing. When we spoke to the designer he promised to have the problems corrected and to have us review the sites once more before they were brought live. At that time we noticed no templates and no specific professional structure or design on our sites...they looked similar to what we e-mailed HWS from AOL, the designer downloaded our emails and pasted them into their website programs and deemed the poorly finished product to be websites.

We offered a solution of purchasing a template for HWS to build the sites but HWS instead wanted us to pay them $2700 to use that template to design our sites. We refused that offer. From July to December 2006 we had paid for six months of hosting totaling $119.94 per site ($479.76 altogether)without any site being hosted on a true server and we only ended up previewing two incomplete sites that both needed a lot of work.

As of March 2007 none of our websites have been completed, including the four sites still under construction and four others that haven't even
been started yet. We feel sure additional hosting charges will be incurred and assuming they don't get completed before the end of this year, we may possibly end up paying well over $7500 in hosting alone to HWS, and that does not the website upgrade packages that we havealready
paid to them...we have suffered mental anguish and stress and have lost revenue.

We are seeking alternative means at the national level to get this issue rectified. The sites belong to two well-known recording artists, whose cousin (a very well-known talk show host)funded these sites as a birthday gift. If you have any questions or comments to add,

I recently went in for an interview with Heritage Web Solutions. Within 10 seconds of walking into the building I knew something was strange. It was one huge room with rows and rows of cubilces. I was immeidately struck with the sensation that this was a production farm, cranking out as much cheap and shoddy work as humanly possible as quickly as possible. Needless to say I high tailed it out of there, went straight home and did a little research. Sure enough my suspisions were true.

I purchased a package from Heritage Web. They promised me a professional web site that would do everything that I asked. I wanted my
customers to be able to search my products by age, price and category. At first I was discouraged from doing it this way, but then they agreed to make the modifications. That took about 3 months and then when they were done, I wasn't able to punctuate properly in the description portion of my website. All the "special keys" !, @, #, $, % ect caused programming errors.

So here I am, 3 months into the design process, my store sells "educational" toys, and I can't even puncuate properly! I thought I could live with it so I decided to try and finish uploading my product images and descriptions, but even that turned into a nightmare. I had to take
all the special characters out and then using the "mass upload" system, upload to the server. Time after time, I would get errors, the upload
process would be stopped and I would have to try and find any special characters that I missed. Many times none were found. Some were ghosts, I
would copy and paste the descriptions to word and then back again, try reuploading and then it may work or it may not.

In conclusion, I spent a year with this company, trying to get all the bugs worked out. I/they never did si I dropped them. I asked for part
of the money back. They refused. As soon as I get my taxes completed, I plan on pursuing legal action against them

I worked for HWS briefly and I would NEVER do business with them. The owners are actually pretty nice guys, but they company has expanded way too quickly and the management is more interested in making money than finishing anyones website.

The company's main problem is employeeturnover. The average employee will probably only work there for 1-3 months and this leads to chaos.

Nothing gets done, no one wants to be there, and no one cares about your website.

Thank you so much for your response to my inquiry. I found the initial article on --- when I did a search for complaints about Heritage Web Solutions.

The article came up on google within the first 10 sites listed. I think the problem that was discussed in the article and other articles all seem to be along the same lines. Over promising on what they are capable or willing of delivering. In my case I caught on pretty quick but it was still to the tune of about $225.00 of which I will pursue by filing the complaints at the sites you recommended.

Additional information I identified is they currently have 58 complaints listed at the BBB. The owners from what I can see are listed as Brad Stone, 52; Mark Strong, 58; and Leah Young, 36.

Hey folks: Can I add be added to the Heritage situation. After

significant problems (Too numerous to itemize here) I have asked for a refund based upon complete failure to meet any timeline orproduce

any usable website as discussed. They have offered me back 1/2 so far but would LOVE to discuss this matter with you.
Thanks
Kriss

Hi. My name is Nicole. I have a private practice/small business in music therapy in the state of RI (Hands in Harmony). I contacted Heritage Web in January of this year to develop a website for my business and have been having a number of problems since. The reason I was looking for a site was to increase knowledge base on the field of music therapy (particularly in my area as I am the only practicing therapist in my area), and to apply for a grant to help expand. One of the reasons cited for why the grant was not received was having a website that was difficult to navigate and contained a lack of/ inaccurate information (my contact info was wrong for at least 2 -3 months). We also paid for flash which is not up on the site. I hired someone to aid in designing a site as the designers at Heritage were performing inadequate service. I was looking for an extremely professional site as my field can be a difficult one to be understood/respected due to lack of understanding. Instead I received a site that was poorly designed with inaccurate information throughout (and without flash as promised/paid). I was able to work with this other individual and put together a power point presentation for each page of the site, how it should look design wise and what it should say (since I hired Heritage to assist in this process, I felt this was already more than I should be doing).

We have been contacting heritage for some time now.

At first we were told that the site was in progress and would take more time. Recently, we have been informed that “the supervisors” met about our site and decided that to change the site to meet specifications would cost us an additional fee for a “redesign”.

These “supervisors” have been in “meetings” every time we call and have not returned one message to date. My husband came across your information on line when looking into a class action law suite with Heritage. We have been contacted by other designers/web hosters. I would like to go through someone else at this point but do have a 1 year contract with Heritage (that and I have spent all of my website development budget on Heritage).

If you have any additional information or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Nicole, MT-BC

They're TERRIBLE. Worst company ever. They're way behind and oversale. They pump out horrible websites. They're cheaper than most places but you get what you pay for... after a few months. Plus they over charge on hosting by around 40 bucks a month.

Here is another email I got from Dave, the
ex-employee. For some reason, it would not forward. Probably user error. :) Anyway, here's more of what Dave had to say about Heritage from an insiders perspective...

Yeah on the website designer end they underpay you, over work you, and there are like 5 people or more selling websites for every one person they have designing websites. They don't offer any benifits to their employees and yeah it sucked working there. They're not evil people they're just *&*& awful business people. They're WAY more caught up in selling the websites than actually making them. Plus
they're one of the ### companies that WAY under charge for webdesign so it makes it really hard for actual decent webdesigner's to get paid what they want on the open market. But people don't realise that just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's the same product. If you get your product at all.

It's horribly stressful working there and i'm glad I'm done. Doing it freelance has been much better for me. It's really hard to find work or people to pay what it's worth especially in Utah but it's better than working there.

Dave

YES! This is great! I got an ARCHITECT who told me of his bad experience with Heritage Web Solutions. He was screwed out of $500 and he went through like 12 "designers" and he said they could never get it right.

I'm keeping track of all the names I get and what they say. I'm sure any of them would be willing to write their statement.

What are more steps we can take? Should we go to
their local newspapers and media?

Hey Rick,
YES! I just got another bad reference reply from A NURSING HOME of all places. They were also screwed over by Heritage. I mean a NURSING HOME! COME ON! We have to stop them.

Kelli

It is ---. Brendan left a message for Matt today saying we want our money back PERIOD. We DO NOT want to do business with you. He has not called back of course. What CROOKS! I just
can't believe that people like them stay in business and prosper.

I have sent out emails to a bunch of their customers asking for a reference. If they say anything negative, I will recruit them to help us stop them.

How do we go about a class action suit? Do you know?

I want all concerned to know that Heritage has been stealing peoples money and are going to be brought to court. Any employee involved

in the web development process is going to go down with them. ii have a stack of e-mails complaining about Heritage practices. This might
even border on theft and be a crime the feds are going to investigate since this is over the net and involves banks and credit cards

Yep..

Unfortunately we came across them and $800 later, our website is not yet open over 2 months ago, we have been through 2 project managers, 3 html guys, and still will be weeks before we get the site done due to Q & A staffing.

We have since then asked for all our money back and waiting for an answer.

I will let you know what happens. Its not nice since its been costing us $125 a day loss in income. We own 2 other internet stores and a brick and mortar store in real life.

I think we will be a lot more careful whom we do business with in the future.

I was looking on the internet for a place to help heritage with promoting their service whe I saw all this negative material concerning them
from YOU all over the place. (nothing better to do?) I strongly disapprove of your claims against them and the way you are persuing it. I am so tired of people who cause bigger problems in the world. let it go! why the anger and hate? past is past. would you like it if someone
dragged your name through the mud? Heritage is a great company and yes there are alot of people we talked to but it was to help best meet our
needs. my information is not correct because of the fact I know that only negativity would come my way so hopefully the foolihness will cease and you can enjoy life with your family while you have it!

This company is riddled with hundreds of complaints similar to yours. They claim to be the top design company in the country.E-mails I have received from customers and even past and present employees show that they are a sub standard meat market. They hire a great deal of sales people and few designers and those that they do hire are not very qualified for difficult design work. They take on more work then they are able to produce and designs they are unable to perform. Past employees (many who stayed no longer than a month or two because of the work load) claim all management is concerned with is volume and not quality.

My recommendation is to go public as my husband did( He died fighting these people and they took us for every dime we had to our name) They still threaten to sue me and my nine year old child because of the blogs and stuff on the Internet. If you have access to a public forum use it to bring this company down. So many people have been hurt by Heritage and I am sure have suffered great financial destruction. See the info on ---, , [redacted]s.com and ---. you will find links to a complaint form to the FBI Internet fraud site that is very helpful. Here is the address for the owner of Heritage designs Mark Strong mark@hasn't.com ( Be careful he is very convincing when he tells you he was not aware of the problems you face(he knows everything that goes on daily) and that he will help.he will make offers to reduce, refund partially give credits for hosting) all this to keep you quiet).

Your claim is substantial, call the local police, the FBI, both in your area and his company area, the Attorney General in his area and direct them to the sites I provided you with as back up most of these people on those sites will be glad to assist.

I also worked for HWS for a short time (a month and a half). The place was run like a sweat shop and I loathed going to work everyday. There was really no way for designers to put together a decent website since they were rushed by the supervisors. I felt sorry for all the customers that dared to purchase a web design package from them.

Take Heritage Down
Richard - Palm Bay (U.S.A.)
Internet fraud is a serious problem these days!
Thank You Heritage!

My husband has now passed away, Leaving Myself and 8 year old daughter without any hope for the future. You took his money, his hopes for our future and left him to die in utter depression. I hope you enjoyed all the threats you used on him and our family to get your way.All He wanted was a web site that worked. He spent all our savings to promote a site you promised would work. As you know it did not and you new it wouldn't from the start. He told you he knew nothing about computors and web site design, He told you why he wanted and needed this site to work. You lied, you threatened his family all while he was on his death bed. Are you proud of you reputation now? Are you able to sleep at night with a clear concionce? Before he passed away he cried and asked me to forgive him for being so stupid. Heritage My husband was not stupid, Your sales people and techs were just very smart.

After he exposed your company you refunded his design money but what about all the money he spent promoting a site that you promised would work but never did.

If this was just an isolated incident I could forgive you but look at all the complaints saying the same exact thing! How do you justify your existance with these kind of work ethics. I will probably get a letter from your company threatening me now, but there is nothing for them to get so let them scream.

Heritage web solutions seems to be involved in a battle of wills with current and past customers and employees.
Heritage who claims they are ranked in the top 10f web site developers has it's share of problems recently. A customer claims that Heritage mis-led him when he signed up for a custom web site designed to aid his familys future income because of a terminal illness. The customer claims he trusted Heritage to design a site that would help provide future income for his wife and 8 year old girl. Heritage, knowing this customers situation contracted to produce this custom site and persuaded this customer to spend a great deal of money promoting a site that Heritage knew could not work. The customer after being fed up with the lies, excuses and misrepresentations decided to begin a campaign of blogs and civil and criminal complaints.( Under pressure Heritage refunded the developement cost of the site but left him with a tremendous loss for adveriseing and hosting services on a site that never worked). Now this customer not asking Heritage for anything other than an appointment of an independant claims mgr. to oversee complaints against Heritage is being threatened by Heritage.

Heritage has taken this customers medical problems and used them against him by threatening to sue both him and his estate if the customer continues to complain in a public forum.

Here you see a recent letter from The Heritage attorney, Please note Heritage did not release the site and to this date Heritage is in possesion of the web site.

Re:

Heritage Web Solutions, LLC

Dear Mr. Austin:

I have reviewed your most recent e-mail dated August 8, 2006 at 8:13AM.

Although I realize the service of a lawsuit upon you may not be much of a threat since you have a terminal illness; however, there are economic consequences of your conduct that spill over to your estate.

It appears reasonably certain from past communications that it was your desire to setup the Internet business to provide an income stream to your wife and daughter. Your continued lies, defamation and intentional interference with my client's business are claims that can be brought against your estate. If you are leaving behind a Will, any funds that you leave could be subject to the claims of Heritage.

You asked me to inform you in a way that you can understand what I can do to you. It is not what can be done to you, but what can be done to your estate and the funds you leave behind. You have been given every reasonable attempt to resolve this without that happening, but you continue to spew your hatred over a $700 issue. This suggests that you have some type of mental problem as well.

Your rambling e-mail continues to suggest that I cannot stop you from telling the truth. The truth is whatever the judge says at the end of the day regardless of what the parties may feel. The truth in this case is that you got your website designed for free and your money back. Where is the fraud in that? If anything, you stole services for which you should pay, and have paid nothing for the service provided to you - consider it a gift to a dying man. However, your continued ranting and raving cannot be tolerated.

Can I hurt you? Probably not. Can I hurt your heirs? Probably. I am giving you the opportunity to do the right thing without being compelled to do that. If you don't see the fairness or goodness in that, that is your problem - not mine. We are prepared to have a judge tell you or your heirs that what you have done is wrong.

Very truly yours,

THOSE THAT DO EVENTUALY GET A SITE USUALY FIND OUT THAT TECH SUPPORT IS MINIMAL IF ANY. HOSTING CHARGES ARE CHARGED EVEN PRIOR TO THE SITE BEING PUBLISHED.

Well I contacted heritage web Solutions 6 months ago June 2009 to terminate my service- I had been with them for a little over a year. 6 Months later in December of 2009 my checking account was over drawn due to the monthly hosting fee of $39.99 and an additional $200.00 fee to reinstate a site I had ALREADY canceled 6 months prior! This caused my checking to go into a negative and hundreds of dollars in penalties fee's from the bank, it was a total MESS! Upon contacting my bank they were nice enough to conduct an investigation and credited me all my money bringing my account back to balance. My bank rep informed me that the best way to rid yourself from these sharks was to cancel my credit card and be reissued a new account. Now to be honest I was lucky enough to get a good designer from the get go, however the sales approach is really shady and they encourage you to add on all these extra features that you really don't need-so by the time your site is complete you've gone from a $199.00 building site fee to more like $800.00 in charges. They also will have reps calling you several days a week attempting to get you to purchase even more features at so called "specials"- I learned the hard way that this company is way over priced and it really is not worth the headaches you will deal with in the future, further more they hold you to everything attempting to keep you under contract for as long as they can. If you want a really nice and inexpensive site do your research, for some nice and really reasonable site builders or web page designs visit WWW.VISTAPRINT.COM or www.Godaddy.com. The response the CEO put up on this board sounded more like a bunch of excuses and not at all like he cared about his customers or there concerns, it says a whole lot about the company he is running, avoid being his next victim- at the end of the day it is obvious all they really care about is draining you dry.

This company has jerked me around for months! It started with the guy who called me to give me a quote on a website. He told me that they did custom websites and that i i went with go Daddy which was my provider at that time, that i would get a template design. Not true. and Hit did a template design for me. there is no custome. Also told that they would put the entire site together. They had no clue and sent me crap. I had to come up with the design of my site. they also said all i would have to do is do an interview phone call and they would write everything up for me. When the designer finally called me he said it would be $100 a page more! i was told i would have my site up within 3o days, it was over 2 months. when i went to customer service to try to get my money back so i could go to a different company they told me they would not refund a cent! I could not afford to start all over so i was stuck. since they were taking so long to put the site together I asked if i could do the updatesmy self. i was told yes...so i approved my site incomplete, knowing i could make the changes i needed. Wrong again, they wanted to chrarge me again for updates! I was locked out of certain area of my website and could not get it changed without them charging again! so stuck again, i paid to have updates done. 2 months later i still have not gotten the changes i wanted done. I have written to the CEO and have written many complaints and still have not even heard an apology. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY! don't get stuck like i did!

Overpromising/UNDERDELEVIRING
hitwebdesign.com

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! I have nothing but negative things to say about this company. They overpromise you at the beginning and under-deliver once they receive your money. I experienced extraordinary delays for basic requests - sometimes it would take 3-4 weeks of non-stop calling, emailing, leaving voice mail messages before I could reach my account manager, Steve Peterson. When I tried to make requests thru the customer service reps, I was always told that my account manager was the only person that could take care of my requests.

Bottom line - go with another company. I think HIT Web Design spends a lot of money on google advertisements (they usually show up at the top of the results page) but they do a horrible job of performing. If you don't believe me, do a simple internet search of their company (HIT Web Design or Heritage Web Design) and you'll find hundreds of complaints. This is something that I should have done before I hired them but failed to do so - I'm not working with my credit card company to try and get a refund.

GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY! I'd be glad to share my experiences in greater detail - just shoot me an email (sjtekman7@hotmail.com).

1) Charge back with your credit card company

2) Report to BBB

3) Report to Utah Attorney General.

4) Tell them that you will report to all complaint sites (they are ### scared about this )

As a previous customer, all of this information is true. Working with "Senior staff" solved absolutely nothing. The accounting department continued to charge my credit card after i explicitly stated to them i was canceling my services. On top of that, my credit card was frozen for fraud theft (wish they would have earlier, bank was smarter than i realize). So, Senior staff Josh verbally agreed to a full refund on the phone. After "speaking with higher ups" he revoked his previous statement claiming to only give a 50% refund, which at this point i just wanted. I want to be done with this company. Two months later i'm yet to receive a payment. TERRIBLE COMPANY.

Any suggestions on how i can finally get my money they owe me?

Heritage Web Solutions, Heritage Internet Technologies (HIT) Hit Web Design, Pleae don't do business with this company, they have 476 complaints with the better business bureau, look it up. They stole my money and didn't complete my site. Please don't use this company

Heritage Internet Technologies/Hit Web design is the most unprofessional company I have every dealt with. I wanted to have a website built by this company. They never completed the website, but listed it as "completed" in their database. I called and emailed them daily. They never returned my calls or emails. They even have the wrong company name at the bottom of my website. To make matters worse, this company charged me $300.00 for work they never even started. I called their customer service and they claimed they would process a refund. Well as you can guess the money never appeared in my bank account. I called and called, asked them what happened to the money I was owed. They told me "it takes a very long time to process."

My site is now live, they have mistakes incuding the wrong email address, the wrong company name, and never completed the forum on the website that I paid for. I attempted to contact managers, supervisors and any one available for help. They continued to lie and always say "someone will contact you within the next couple of days." It never happened. I had to hire another web designer to configure my paypal account. My site was live with no way for customers to make purchases on my website. I had customers call me and ask me why my site didn't work properly. I lost business because of their extremely incompetent business practices. This company has 476 complaints within 36 months on the better buisness bureau website, feel free to look it up. I contacted the local district attorney to make a formal complaint about this company, no company should be allowed to take advantage of customers hard earned money. Please do not use this company.

I hired heritage to build a web site for me. I paid them up front for building the web site and 1 year of hosting. I had to make monthly payments for them to build web site. I then pre-paid for them to upload 5000 items to the site. I also pre-paid them for a flash package to be uploaded. I also pre-paid for the shipping companies to be downloaded onto the site. I then had stroke and was hospitalized. According to the contract they were suppose to renew the domain name with net firms. They did not renew the domain name and netfirm pulled their stuff taking my site off the internet. Heritage never down loaded the 5000 items because of my stroke they never got the item list, nor did they down load the shipping info or flash package because there was no site for them to do this also due to the site not being renewed by them, yet they still continued to withdrawl from my checking account the monthly hosting fee's for several monthsabout 8 months. I have been in contact with them about a refund and they keep hiding behind a contract that they say they owe me nothing. However they violated their own contract when they issued a refund of $49. to me and said here keep your mouth shut.

From http://hitfreelance.com/faq.html

"So, let’s do some simple math… a 5 page site paying $20.00 per page + $10.00 bonus for completing a client interview = $150.00. Now divide that by the number of hours you spent working on that project (30 min per page x 5 pages = 2.5 hours of work) and as you can see, you were being paid $60.00 per hour for that site."

Okay, let's do some simple math:

5 x 20 + 10 = $110 ****NOT $150!****
