DreamHost DreamHost has been grate for me

DreamHost has been grate for me. They've been my website host and domain host for over 20 years. I've never had any major problems with them. The uptime is pretty good and my website is always up and running. The customer service is also decent. They respond to my emails within a day or two. The only thing that bugs me is the price. It's a bit on the expensive side compared to other hosting providers. But overall, I'm happy with DreamHost and would recommend them to others.

DreamHost DreamHost is a complete disaster

DreamHost is a complete disaster. They couldn't even set up my account properly before insisting that I find another hosting provider. Can you believe it? All because I used a Gmail address to sign up. Well, I've taken my clients elsewhere, and I'll be sure to let them know about this terrible experience.

I just got my account with DreamHost, but within 5 seconds, their automated system flagged me for possible fraud or abuse. I contacted support, but they told me that the decision made by the robots was final. They didn't even let me use my account, and they won't reinstate it. This company is really bad, and their support is not helpful at all. I suggest looking for hosting elsewhere and not giving them your money.

DreamHost I've been with Dreamhost for over 8 years

I've been with Dreamhost for over 8 years. Customer support has been fast, helpful, and friendly. I had an issue once, years ago, but don't remember what it was, but it was fixed quickly. When I contact them with questions, I get an actual human to answer with little difficulty. I guess the only people who leave reviews here are the few that have problems?

Dreamhost's refusal to fix an ongoing email issue that affected around 50% of emails sent was incredibly frustrating. I had to repeatedly mark the emails as not spam when sending them to multiple recipients. Despite months of no resolution and plenty of empty promises, Dreamhost did nothing to address the problem. Their solution? They kicked me off the hosting plan, despite my years of loyal payment and numerous referrals. It's disappointing to receive so much lip service without any actual solutions. I would strongly recommend looking for another hosting company instead of choosing Dreamhost.

DreamHost Dreamhost has a serious security issue

Dreamhost has a serious security issue. My websites have been hacked and sometimes all files disappear. I have reported it a couple of times but Dreamhost doesn't care about it if you are a small business owner. It keeps happening again and again. Can you deposit your money if the bank loses your money? I am sure employees steal customer data and source codes. I can prove it with my history of experience with Dreamhost. It's not too late to switch to another reliable company as soon as possible.

Dreamhost is a bad company, they give slow service and have mean support who can't help with any problem. When I tried to close my account, they added a small fee that I had to pay, but when you try to pay it, their system won't let the payment go through. So, you can't close the account and they charge you for another year that you don't want. Unless you like arguing with your bank to MAYBE get your money back from Dreamhost, I wouldn't suggest ever doing business with them in the beginning.

I've been trying for several years to stop this fraudulent company from sending me emails. I closed my account years ago via phone calls and emails, yet they won't leave me alone despite contacting them over and over. They continue to try to charge me every single year on the anniversary of the payment due date (when it was originally set up) without fail. This company is so ruthless about grabbing your money, I had to get a different credit card number because they kept charging my credit card without my authorization. I had a friend with a similar experience with them, so we call this company a herpes virus because it's something that never goes away. It's no wonder they don't have a ComplaintsBoard.com rating!

DreamHost I bought a 1 year basic hosting plan from DreamHost (thankfully it wasn't anything more)

I bought a 1 year basic hosting plan from DreamHost (thankfully it wasn't anything more). They charged my card right away but then needed to "approve" my account. They said it would be approved shortly in the email, and if I hadn't heard from them in 24 hours, I should let them know. Well, it's been way more than 24 hours. The chat function isn't available and no one is responding to my tickets. I'm really angry because I have a site to work on, and these people took my money for hosting services but won't give me access to my account. At this point, I'm telling my card company that this charge is fraudulent because I can't get a response from anyone and they've gone way past their "24 hour" time limit.

Further, the provider continued to charge for the time when service was not provided and charged $10 for customer service contact, which they did not deliver.

DreamHost I just found out that I've been billed for services I never asked for or used since 2017

I just found out that I've been billed for services I never asked for or used since 2017. They've been charging me $10.95 per month for hosting on a server that never happened. I have evidence that I never hosted any content with this company. I only bought a DNS (Domain Name Server), but they still charged me for services I didn't request or use. I have screenshots and invoices that clearly show these charges.

DreamHost I signed up for a DreamHost.com account and cancelled after a few days

I signed up for a DreamHost.com account and cancelled after a few days. They kept billing me, even though I had no web hosting or services. Now they keep sending me emails, threatening me over $14 that I don't owe. Please make them stop harassing me. I just want my initial $14 back and for them to quit trying to scam me out of another $14.

I writed and chatted to cancel my hosting with DreamHost. I told them I was moving my hosting and they knew about the cancellation. We talked about the prices for renewing and they tried to make it better, but it was still too expensive. So, I took my websites somewhere else and let them know. But now, they're still trying to charge me for hosting even though I told them.

On November the 3rd, 2021, I tried to change my automatic payment method on Dreamhost's platform. Their page was broken. I contacted support and got a bunch of quick emails from different folks at Dreamhost (or maybe just different names). Each email was a new guess about what might be wrong, giving me random instructions and passing the responsibility to fix it onto me. All I want is for them to stick to their agreement and check their system, which clearly isn't working right. This isn't the first time Dreamhost's customer service has been below par. To make matters worse, they charge for any additional customer service. That's a sneaky business practice. I won't stand for it.

Company say they guarantee 100% uptime but they not do that. My website been down for two weeks now, along with many others. Waste lots of my time and money. They not fix it or give updates. Can't cancel contract without penalty. They not respond to my requests for money back. I want money for damages and chance to move my stuff to a better company with full refund.

In early October 2022, I was checkin' out website hostin' plans on the DreamHost website. I started what I thought was a checkout process by pickin' one of their hostin' plans. But after pickin' the plan, I changed my mind and didn't wanna go through with the purchase. That's when I realized there ain't no way to cancel or delete a plan once ya picked it. Right after I picked the plan, I tried to delete my info and an account I used before. But DreamHost wouldn't let me delete my info unless I paid for the plan. So I contacted DreamHost support right away to ask 'em to cancel. But no matter how many times I asked 'em to cancel the account, DreamHost kept refusin' to cancel it. Durin' the checkout process, I didn't even give 'em my credit card info or complete any purchase process. Basically, up to now, DreamHost ain't given me any services. But they keep sendin' me lots of emails and makin' phone calls demandin' payment. I want DreamHost to delete my account and stop botherin' me. Here's a copy of one of the many emails they sent me: "This is just a notice that your DreamHost account #*** ("***'s Account") has a balance due of $7.99 on it. You can pay your balance securely and instantly online at: https://panel.dreamhost.com/?tree=billing.payment | NOTE: Accounts overdue for 60 days will be suspended for non-payment. If your account becomes suspended you'll need to pay the FULL balance to have it reactivated. We can't guarantee that we'll keep backups on disabled or suspended accounts for any length of time. Please take immediate action now to avoid the possibility of permanent data loss. Recommended: Enable or update AutoPay for your DreamHost account via PayPal, debit, or credit card!"

Hello, my name is John, and I am the president at GTS. I've been a customer of Dreamhost for a while now and I've always liked their affordable hosting rates. However, I recently encountered some issues with their billing practices that left me feeling upset and confused. In May , I decided to purchase a Dreampress plan from Dreamhost. I already had a Happy Hosting plan for my webpage, GlobalTechSite. When they presented me with the cost for the Dreampress plan, which included an sql database and some other cloud features, I thought that the cost of the Dreampress plan (around $200) would cover the Happy Hosting as well, instead of being an additional $200 charge. I thought this because I didn't see any strange charges on my company card. About a month later, I realized that I hadn't really used the service much. On June 4th, I noticed a $200 charge from Dreamhost on my credit card. I wondered if my hosting plan was up for renewal, but when I checked my dashboard, it showed that my account was up to date and not due for renewal anytime soon. I tried emailing Dreamhost about this mysterious charge, but my email bounced back three times. So, I decided to email them from a different email address, which worked. Dreamhost replied and said that I was being billed for my Dreampress account. I asked if maybe I had misunderstood and if this was a monthly charge instead of an annual one. They confirmed that I was correct and that they had decided to charge me a month later. Naturally, I asked for a refund since I hadn't even used the service yet. However, I was met with unhelpful customer service tactics, with different people bouncing me around to prolong the process. It was only when I asked to speak to their manager that I finally received an email from them. The manager informed me that they only offer refunds within 30 days of registering for a service, not based on billing. This is unheard of in the service or product sector. If you buy a t-shirt, you can get a refund from the date of receipt, right? And a car warranty starts from the date of purchase, right? Apparently, Dreamhost operates in an alternate reality.

DreamHost Hosting

Dreamhost's refusal to fix a simple ongoing email issue that affected at least 50% of emails sent — having to constantly record the email was not spam when sent to more than one recipient resulted in, after many months of 'no fix' and a lot of lip service — my off the chart frustration. Their solution?

Kick me off the hosting plan. After years of loyal payment and many, many referrals. Great business.

DreamHost Fraud Telephone and Email Scam

I have received a scam call from a Russell Johnson UK tel [protected] regarding the hosting of a website for 4 years ago. This has been inactive for a number of years. I had hosted this though a website designer who I believe may have had held an account with Dream host.. I was told that I owed 4 years worth of monthly subscriptions and that a senior manager would be in touch within 3 days to resolve the issue. I have never agreed a contract directly with Dream host so cannot be liable to pay for a hosting service. The scammer then sent an email to me escalating the case and suggesting I rang a no. which is not actually a genuine one. The email was also ending in .cf Then I received the Senior Manager email (John Hart): (polite but threatening)! Action Fraud have been informed."Before I begin I want to briefly introduce myself. My name is John and I'm a senior member of the customer finance and asset protection department at Dream Host. I am responsible for cases with extreme circumstances such as your own, which was brought to my attention earlier today. I have read the email you received from Russell on Monday evening and also looked into potential methods for you to be able to clear the unpaid balance. We recommend taking action as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary additional fees and disturbance to your account in the near future. This may also include the use of a debt collection agency to recover costs we have incurred as a result of non payment on your part. We do, however, understand that you have stated your account was being operated by another entity, therefore have many extended your threshold before such action stated above is engaged. After discussing this case in depth with my colleagues and executive manager today, I have been instructed to set up your balance as an invoice. Please go to https://www.dreamhost.cf/payments/invoice/2569 and follow the instructions to submit your details on our secure portal. My website was hosted by Dreamhost. I wanted to backup my account -- all my files. They had a "one-click" way of doing this. They sent me an email with a link to download files that the email said were my "ENTIRE Dreamhost account". In fact, the files were only a small fraction of my account. When I complained, they did nothing to help.
