I went to this dentist because I had gotten dental insurance and my previous dentist doesn't take the insurance I have. To give some back ground, since I am retired and on a fixed income, for the last 5 years I have only been able to go to the dentist once a year because of the expense. I moved to St Augustine and started going to About Smiles Denistry, for the last year. I went there for my exam and I was in the process of getting my insurance so put off getting the $120 cleaning that they recommended. I then went to Dr Gosslin at Great Expressions, he counted my teeth and told me I was missing 9 teeth and had I thought about doing something about getting them replaced. 8 of the teeth were extracted when I was a child because there is not enough room in my mouth for them. I have no idea where he thought I was going to put them now. He did a very quick exam, and informed me that I needed a special cleaning that cost $257 because I hadnt had a cleaning in a year. As I stated before I only went to the dentist once a year and never had a special cleaning before. Also the month before I was at All About Smiles and they weren't going to give me a special cleaning. When I told him I couldn't afford that and all I wanted was the cleaning that my insurance covered Dr. Gosslin said "That's a problem, when you find a dentist that will do a regular cleaning for you, let us know and we will send your xrays to them". As I read the other complaints I realize that this is an ongoing thing with them to get more money from patients.
Recommendation: Don't go there
