Dear Gold’s Gym Jordan Management,

I am writing to submit a formal complaint regarding an extremely disappointing experience I recently had at the Gold’s Gym Khalda branch in Amman.

I became a Gold’s Gym member on July 27, 2026, with Abdoun branch and unfortunately, my experience with the Khalda branch has been very negative, particularly regarding the way the dress-code policy was handled by the branch manager, Mr. Louai Saleh.

During one of my training sessions, I was instructed by one of the coaches to stop training to discuss my dress code because I was wearing short jeans, as I was told that this was not permitted under the gym’s dress code. I was genuinely shocked, especially because this requirement was never explained or brought to my attention when I purchased my membership before signing the contract at Abdoun branch and I went to Abdoun branch with the same jeans short without any issues.

I subsequently had a lengthy discussion with Mr. Louai Saleh ( Khalda branch) regarding this matter. I explained to him that I have observed female members at Abdoun branch wearing extremely revealing and tight clothing, including tops that expose the stomach and belly button, while I was being prevented at Khalda branch from training because I was wearing short jeans. I find this inconsistent application of the dress code extremely difficult to understand.

My concern is not simply about having a dress code. I understand that a gym may establish reasonable dress requirements. My concern is that the rules should be clearly communicated to members before they purchase their memberships and should then be applied consistently and fairly to all members.

Mr. Louai Saleh showed me the membership contract containing the relevant dress-code provisions. However, this contract was not provided to me by the staff at the Gold’s Gym Abdoun branch when I purchased my membership, nor was I informed of these restrictions before joining.

Had these requirements been clearly communicated to me before I purchased an eight-month membership, I would have been able to make an informed decision about whether the membership was suitable for me.

I also discussed with Mr. Louai Saleh the possibility of cancelling my membership and receiving a refund for the unused portion of my membership. Unfortunately, I was simply told “No”, without a satisfactory explanation or any meaningful consideration of the circumstances.

I therefore respectfully request that Gold’s Gym Jordan management review this matter and provide me with the following:

1. A copy of the membership agreement and the complete dress-code policy that was applicable when I joined on July 27, 2026.
2. Clarification as to why this policy was not provided or explained to me at the time I purchased my membership.
3. Clarification regarding how the dress code is intended to be applied consistently to male and female members.
4. A review of the conduct and handling of this matter by the Khalda branch management.
5. Most importantly, cancellation of my remaining eight-month membership and a refund of the unused portion of my membership fees, given that the relevant restrictions were not disclosed to me when I joined.

I joined Gold’s Gym expecting a professional and respectful environment. Unfortunately, this experience has left me extremely dissatisfied and has caused me to reconsider whether I wish to continue my membership.

I hope Gold’s Gym Jordan will take this complaint seriously and resolve the matter fairly rather than simply referring me back to the Khalda branch.

I look forward to receiving your written response and a clear resolution.

Sincerely,

Khalil Alhusan

Desired outcome: A refund of the remaining unused membership.
