I along with two neighbors went to the Golden Corral #2592 in Omaha NE on 04/03/24. My receipt shows a time of 04:03pm. My complaint is. It was 03:57 at the time we came in to the restaurant. We were told that the cash register system had already been updated and we needed to pay $15.99 + $3.59 for drink which totalled $21.51. I challenged this fact with the cashier/manager and showed him my cellphone as did my neighbor. The time on both our phones was 03:58pm. He said there was nothing he could do. We just had to pay the increased price. I'm sorry, but I don't agree with having to pay the senior price plus the drink price when we were there prior to 4:00pm. We should have been charged $10.99 including the drinks instead of the after 4:00pm price. I don't buy the rationale that the system updated the time early and the price is higher because they have the fried shrimp. We were there prior to 4:00pm, we shouldn't have to pay the higher price. I'd like either a refund of $21.51 - $12.05 = $9.45 (the amount we were charged minus what we should have been charged.). or a gift certificate for a free dinner. I'm 65 my neighbors are 70 and 71 years. In an electronic age customers should not hear "there's nothing I can do.". The receipt is faint but I'll make a copy just in case you need it.
Claimed loss: $9.45
Desired outcome: I would like either a refund of $9.45 or a gift certificate for a free meal.
