I just had this happen and wrote this email today to/with Geico.
I saw the claim person today, I understand that insurance companies have to deal with a lot of fraudulent claims. And in my circumstance I understand I forgot to include a major detail that happened after the first accident. Because not only was there a lot of things going through my mind to keep me from thinking properly, but I just wanted to get my vehicle off the road before it got hit again. But I found it abso---------lutely offensive when I was told, that the claim person felt I made up a hit and run story to claim hit and run. Had he talked to my manager, my manager would have confirmed after the accident happened I told him I only had liability and was going to have to repair the damages myself, even if I had full coverage I don't trust you or any other insurance company to take care of any of your drivers.
I know you people have not received any messages from me about payout or vehicle repair, because after I was even called by Geico and informed that the other thing I had on my insurance covered hit and run, I knew since I forgot to inform the police about it I was going to have to pay for it own of my own pocket still, and I HAD NO --- ---- PROBLEM WITH THAT until this ------------- basically said I was lying. Is this what I should expect? Do the right thing, report the accident, get ------ up in a another accident and be told, your a liar, the second accident was bull---- and never happened? I don't know what part about "I didn't file the claim right away, instead I got online to find out how much it was going to cost ME to repair this vehicle, since I thought I was only paying for liability" he did not understand. I have never been so utterly ------- insulted in my life.
---- YOU VERY MUCH GEICO.
SINCERELY,
claim denial
GEICO denied my claim after my car was stolen and recovered damaged. They refused to repair the car to the condition prior to the theft. I took GEICO to court. After a 6 year battle, they finally had to pay for my damages. Now I'm in the Nevada Supreme Court looking for punitive damages. My goal is to STOP GEICO from stealing peoples money.
refund
I purchase car insurance for my father which we have the same name. My father called in and I called in to remove my credit card information from their systems several times. My father has had this policy around six months. On June 24, 2013 Geico insurance took my father payment in the amount of $134.40 and my bank charged me $26.00 fee. I called to get a refund and explain to Geico what happen. Geico refuse to refund my card and stated to me that they will send a check to my father address. My father live in different state.

payment not made
If you are shopping around for insurance, please do not go to Geico! I was rear-ended by a Geico-insured customer and Geico refuses to reimburse me for car rental fees while my car was being repaired! And their customer service is absolutely terrible! When I asked the Adjuster why he wasn't taking the bumper off to examine underneath, he said to me, "Well, that would take 15 minutes to take off, and about 15 minutes to put back on"! Was it THAT MUCH of an INCONVENIENCE? The car that hit me was completely smashed in, obviously causing damage underneath. Also, when I submitted the rental car receipts, a rep called me back to say she only received one page - later to find she did not even know HOW to page forward! They gave me such a run-around with so many issues that I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE.

Geico is awful. I feel bad for you.
low settlement offer
I was involved in a car accident, that the other driver was cited for and was at fault admittedly. Her insurance company (Geico) has offered a settlement that is so low it isn't even funny. The adjusters are rude and obnoxious. Both the offer for the car that was totalled and the offer for medical are ridiculously lower than what the actual charges are.

fraud on seniors that have geico ins.
Geico intentionally defrauds its own clients who have geico insurance! They tell the insured that geico is arranging the auto repair and the auto rental... Afterward you find that your bank account is charged without your permission for charges that should be paid by geico and are covered by your auto insurance! They do this without mentioning when you pick up your vehicle, thinking you will not notice and get your bank statement in a month or so.
Geico intends to defraud seniors who they think are easy prey and will not know what to do in a month or so when they discover the additional charges!

unauthorized credit card transaction
I signed up for geico insurance online on 03/07/2013 and agreed to pay $24.37 and they took that plus an additional $113.75 that was not authorized. I called geico customer service and they said it was for a previous policy that had cancelled more than 6 months ago and they will not give the money back, it is an unauthorized transaction and I consider it theft.

The thiefs...i ask for a quote because my daughter was searching for a car insirance, they added her and told me they cant take off unless if i proof that she is not driving my vehicle and proof that she got another insurance. Otherwise they are going to keep charging me. I have it recorded...absurd!

Dumb commercial where a lady wants to be romantic with her date that happens to be a literal pig and the pig understands she wants romance and to "pass the time" but instead he pulls out his phone and declares"fruit ninja" I guess with tons of marriages failing, this company thinks this is funny? It's sending a message that it's ok to invalidate the feelings of your partner. That's so wrong! Please think before you make these terrible commercials! Geico has plenty of awesome commercials, so why this trash?

paid for doctor and company abuse
geico abuses it's clients. Accident and they do nothing to protect their clients, you get hurt and then YOUR company hurts THEIR client. Doctors that write nothing wrong so you don't have to pay the no fault insurance.. They paid $287.92 and they are sending me to EMPIRE STAT.. requesting to make a copy of your drivers lic. and social security number. Requesting all you past medical having nothing to do with the claim.. This is a violation of the no fault law and your privacy HIPPA rights.
Everyone be careful that on your homeowners clains you put in your 90 day proof of loss claim form or they have the rights to not pay you.

incompetent investigation team
I would like to post the incompetency of the group that handled my accident report last Nov. 6, 2012... i've have request on the same date for a thorough investigation and that measurements must be taken with both cars so to find out if the damages on the other car aligned with the measurement of the point of contact on my rear driver side bumper because i knew i did not hit the other car who's making a fraudulent claim... I called Geico re: this matter and found out that based on Dennis Mc Mullen conclusion that i did strike the other car, that the damage on the other car driver side metal fender specifically the dent aligned with the measurement of my rear plastic bumper's height., that there was paint chipping on the other car which was caused by my car, that there was no sign of rusting on the damage area... i requested for all the pictures to be sent to me as the person i talked to cannot fully explained how such conclusion was made... Upon receiving the pictures i found out that no measurement was taken by Daniel Walsh who when i called him, he told me that there was no such instruction for him to take measurement of the claimants car damages despite of my request which was in my file for Geico to do so and which was vouched by Geico representative that they will do. Also what i dont understand how such very vital information such as measurements be neglected especially after i've requested it... as for a thorough investigation to be accomplish every angle of evidence should be taken into consideration and scrutinized especially for sensitive cases like mine. Because no measurement of the other car was done.. i hereby find the investigating group handling my case led by Dennis Mc Mullen for incompetency, discrimination in coming up with a conclusion for the following reason:
1. How can Dennis Mc Mullen conclude that the damage especially the dent aligned with my car's bumper point of contact height if no measurement was taken on the damaged car?
2. How can such a metal fender deep dent whose center/deepest part of the dent is almost 3 inches higher (26" as i took measurement myself) be created by my car's lower height (23") flat surfaced plastic bumper moving at less than 1mile per hour...
3. How can Dennis Mc Mullen missed the sign of old rusting which was evident in the pictures that i've sent Geico and how come those who did take pictures didnt even mentioned that there was indeed sign of rustings on the chipped paint of the damage.
4. How can Dennis Mc Mullen have missed that there is not even any sign of paint transfer on the point of contact on my driver side plastic bumper if i really hit and caused the chipping damage on the other car.
5 how could he have missed that there was neither cracks, dent, scratches on my driver's side rear bumper point of contact if it indeed had caused dent and chipping on the other car.
You see all of the above evidences have been ignored or failed to be acknowledged by GEICO investigating team especially of Dennis Mc Mullen who have made such inaccurate, biased and unfactual conclusion that have caused me to be incriminated rather than being protected from fraudulent claim of the accusing party.
i talked to a certain BILL KUREK in the claims department and he said that they can not change the conclusion and that no reinvestigation will be further made despite of their failure to do a thorough investigation by neglecting to take requested measurements of both car. GEICO denied of my right for a fair and thorough investigation.
Geico was suppose top send someone out to inspect our home for homeowner insurance. They keep saying they will cancel because they cannot inspect our home, because it is a locked gated community. We live out in the country there are no gated communities here! There is a sign in front of our dirt driveway, across from a small museum in a very small town. The sign has our name and address on it. They are suppose to cal before they come, but no one ever calls. I asked to talk to someone to make sure they come to the right property and am told there is no one I can talk to, and can only talk to them when they come to inspect. This has been going on for a long time. Several months. I am so sick and tired of the incompetence at (Geico is a broker and farms all insurance out to underwriters.) No more rodents! If they cannot make the effort to go the right property and refuse to communicate then everyone should know they are not worth the paper their legal comments are printed on. I am scared if I ever did need to file a homeowner claim if they can't even find a property with Google or other.
double billed
My husbnd chose Geico for his auto insurance after checking around to only 3 other places, they had the lowest quote. He paid the down payment and was set up on the "auto deduct" program in order to have it deducted from his checking account every month! I know my husband when it comes to bills and he does not keep track of his payments as well as he should, so I told him to call Geico and opt out of "auto deduct" I will take over and make sure that his bills are paid on time every month along with mine! When he called to cancel auto deduct the rep. told him ok and cancelled it! Mind you this is 3 weeks before his next payment is due. About, 3/weeks later he gets a email from Geico stating that his policy was cancelled due to "non payment" when he called to ask them why, they told him that his policy was good until the 10th of the following month but because he cancelled "auto deduct" he will have to pay them the $104 on the 10th and another $104 on the 15th..when he asked them "why" do I have to pay double they informed him that his cancelling "auto deduct" created a cushion for them in case he missed a payment. (ummmm if he didnt miss a payment, would he get his money back?" NO! If thats the case they should have informed him of that when he was quoted or when he called to cancel auto deduct! You can't be trusted when you start out with shady practices! He also asked them why didnt they tell him that when he called to cancel and the rep told him "I don't know sir, I'm not the one who set the policy up" WOW! Geico can kiss my $#%^&$%R$!
WOW SAME HERE. I CALLED LAST YEAR TO CANCEL THE POLICY AND AUTO DEDUCT AND THEY DID NOT. SO THIS IS HOW THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY BY NOT CANCELLING!
ITS 2013 AND THEY ARE STILL DOING THIS!
policy increase
i have recently filed claim with geico. incident is while parking my car left mirror and front bumper hit a pole. claim geico paid is 735 dollars. now my latest policy is updated from 470 to 655.(35% increase). when i asked them why they mentioned that they predicted and increased my premium by 35% because of this minor parking lot accident.

cheats and liars
Geico Company hurt us further in a failing economy. While at a dealership we called a few insurance companies to see if we could find a reasonable quote for full coverage insurance. This would ultimately decide if we could afford car payments. Geico offered us a deal that would allow us to to make the purchase. Well after signing a lot of paperwork, we drove home in our new car feeling very happy. That is until a week later when our 6month premium more than doubled, guess what you cant return vehicle and get your trade in back. Now we are IN BIG TROUBLE! Now we need to return the car we cant afford insurance for and my husband will have no transportation for work. STAY AWAY FROM GIECO!
If you haven't purchased new insurance yet, please call my office for a quote [protected] Thank you, Steve
car accident
I had an accident back in may, this person run the red light, I had my two children with me very scary, GEICO was my insurance and the other person too, GEICO was not there for me at all. I felt that I had to fight for every penny and they did NOT even pay my medical bill, when they call to settle they gave for what they call the "inconvenience" never mention medical bill, so I have to pay for my own medical bills.so for everybody out there who has GEICO stay on your toes in case of an accident, make sure you get a lawyer!
policy bad faith
Policy purchased 4/7/12. Coverages listed on policy declarations and coverages are not being honored. Ie.. Littleton Co. Was hit by heavy hail damage 6/6/12. Causing serious hail damage to my truck. 2011 ford ranger 4690 miles. Bought in 10/11. Adjuster is trying to write damages as vehicle defects. That are clearly caused by the hail storm.. and gieco is not honoring my initial documented and audio taped coverages.

insurance denial
I received the following letter from Geico:
Thank you for your recent inquiry to obtain insurance. After carefully considering your application, we have determined that it does not meet our current overall requirements. We regret that we cannot accept your request for insurance at this time.
This action has been taken for the following specific reason(s): Insufficient Driving Experience
Since underwriting standards vary from one company to another, it is likely that an application from you would be acceptable to some other company.
Sincerely,
Underwriting Department
The letter I replied with:
I've been driving cars, trucks, vans, and suvs since I was about 16 when I received my drivers license and I'm about to turn 21 in a few days so I'm not sure of this lack of driving experience thing. I've never received any speeding ticket or traffic violation of any sorts so I apologize that I'm a tad bit baffled at why I was declined insurance.
I'm currently insured under Geico, under someone else's policy, and have been on her policy for sometime now, so either way Geico is still going to cover me if I happen to get into an accident. And as a rebuttal to your statement about other companies yes, I have indeed received approved from other companies for insurance. I just thought as a long time customer you would value my business with you and try to keep me as a customer.
Sincerely,
A guy that just wants to be treated with some common sense.

claim denied/poor custmer service
I reported a claim for damage to my RV during a storm. 2 Days later I received a voice mail from a claims adjuster stating I might not be covered due to the way my policy was written. Repeated attempts to contact the adjuster were useless. I finally called customer service to complain. The next day the adjuster called me and stated there was no point in calling me back because the decision had been made and my claim had already been denied. She refused to let me speak to her supervisor and was extremely rude. Several calls to customer service over the next 2 weeks were useless, as I was told a supervisor would call back, but no one ever did. I finally called and told them I would report them to every consumer site available if I didn't get a return phone call that day. I finally got a call and all I got was an apology for the way I was treated, but nothing more could be done. Bottom line is, when I took out the policy I was told I had full coverage, but when i had a claim, all of a sudden I didn't have coverage for that item. They take your money, but provide no coverage and terrible customer service. STAY AWAY FROM GEICO!

read your policy when you buy insurance. dont just wait for ### to happen and find out the hard way. this is your own fault.
wth are they lookng at?
I was hit by a driver who ran a stop sign. There were no witnesses and the Police could not determined fault. No tickets were issued. I filed a claim with Geico. Both of us have Geico insurance. The adjuster came to take pictures of the damage which showed my passenger fender, wheel, door, mirror were all destroyed. The other vehicle has a destroyed bumper and headlights. Geico claims that it was a head on collision and a 50/50 fault. I don't get it. Now I'm trying to get my vehicle repaired and I need a new strut, caliper, brake line, upper and lower control arm, bumper, door, wheel, mirror, alignment and front axle, a paint job, and a few other things. They estimated the damages at $1500. I get $750. The adjuster took 2 pictures of the damage and never even bent his lazy butt down to look any closer. I am now waiting for him to come back to the shop to look at the car again. It took him a week to come the first time. If he takes another week I'm looking at 3 weeks of repairs. The shop owner has been cool through this, but he is getting ticked off because his lift is tied up with my car waiting for Geico. What a bunch of crooks. I've been with them for years and have spent over $10000 in insurance to them over the years. Now I'm asking for $2500 to fix my car that was struck by someone else (I can't crash into someone with my door!), and they are acting like I should be grateful for the $750. I thought I paid for insurance in case an unfortunate event occurs. It seems like I just paid Geico all these years because I had to pay someone something. They basically just took my money, and offered me nothing in return. The funny thing is today I had the automatic withdraw payment taken out of my account...Why I don't even have a car to drive right now.
Geico, stop robbing me!
sounds like you dont carry collision. if you did, they would cover all of your damages. so youre carrying liability only, meaning your policy covers damage to another party's property if you were to be the one causing it. youre only collecting 750 because you were determined to be equally responsible for the accident, and it is the other party's policy that is paying you. the fault is your own in not choosing the coverage that would protect you in this type of situation.
You did good, they didnt send out an adjuster just asked me to send pictures of the damages and I did..we are both insured through GEICO also..they denied both claims. The accident happened in January this year, adjusters have very bad attitudes and they lie a lot.
I sent a letter to the head of corporate Insurance Operations about 1-1/2 weeks ago and have not heard anything from anyone..go to the Department of Insurance in your state and file a complaint against the company...
refuse to pay for accident and customer service
I was hit in a parking lot while being 32 weeks pregnant. SInce Aug 31, 2010 Geico refuses to pay anything towards my medical or being out of work. I can prove before accident that I did not have any back problems. The driver said he did not hit me, so it is a he said she said and Geico has only sent a 1000.00 check to cover my expense. I have had a lawyer try to help and have been in contact with a Barbara King who refuses to call back or is out of office or never there. The driver pulled his car into 2 parking spots and back it up and pulled into spot next to my truck when he struck me. My back was turned facing my car when I was hit. He never got a ticket either because of private propery. (another Issue) I want Geico to do what is right.

geico will not pay claim
We actually have two claims right now against geico. The first one was when a geico insured hit my wife while making an illegal left turn in a blind intersection. Because there was no visibility, and because their insured turned directly into my wife; my wife couldn't have seen them, or avoid them. To geico's credit, they did get us a rental. I also agreed to their 'settlement' on the car and they paid that. How ever many months later, my wifes medical bills are around $5, 000. geico won't pay that and started out offering to pay $100. Later they raised this offer to $1, 000. There is no way this is at all reasonable so we refused to accept that. Many months later my son was hit by another geico insured. This geico driver blew through a stop sign going at least the posted speed as he was late to a job interview. To their credit they got him a rental that evening! The adjuster contacted us and after taking my son's statement; contacted me back to say that geico would only be covering 85% as my son was at least 15% at fault. I told her that was not acceptable because of the police report, the citation given to their driver, and their driver's statement that he 'drove through the stop sign that he didn't see and hit the green car'.
On both of these wrecks, there are police reports, witnesses, statements, citations given to the geico drivers for making illegal maneuvers and causing the wrecks. We tried to negotiate all those months with geico on my wife's wreck to no avail. We were in the process of getting a lawyer when my son's wreck occurred so we went to him with both. He has been very successful in dealing with these kinds of tactics! His take on this is that they get away with this often enough and wind up saving enough by cheating people that it makes it worth while when they do have to go to court and wind up paying more than they would have if they had just paid the claim in the first place! What a crazy business practice!
Now you know why I don't have geico! I have tried several other insurance companies over the years and for the last several we have been with Liberty Mutual. I can tell you we are very pleased with them. My other son backed into a friends new car and they handled that so well that even my friend will tell you how pleased he was with how it was taken care of from start to finish. And we didn't even have to think about getting a lawyer to take care of it!
Think of it this way: If you see a company advertising all the time like geico does it should put up a red flag for you. Only reason they would need to advertise this much is to try to replace the many customers they are constantly loosing all the time! If any of you find yourself in this situation or a similar on I would recommend you ask around and find a good lawyer to talk to. A good one will know what the laws are and how it affects your case and if you should file a suit or not. This probably won't help any of you but you should call my lawyer: Jeff Hepworth in Twin Falls, ID. He is honest and will tell you the best way to handle your problems.
He got a big kick out of what I did. Both of our cars are totaled from these two different wrecks. I painted 'geico Sucks' on the windshields and placed them out front on a U.S. Highway. They do seem to attract a fair amount of attention. People will even stop to get their picture taken beside them! So at least I am getting that satisfaction out of this whole mess!
Well, I am happy to report that as the court dates neared, gieco saw fit in each of these two cases to go ahead an negotiate a more than equitable amount. Fun part of this is, I had been willing to take significantly less before my lawyer had his way with them! Oh well, it must pay for them most of the time to try and rip off people or they would have just tried to be fair in the first place...
How did I fail to report this? Hmm... I think that you too either didn't read what I wrote above or can't understand it. Actually you probably just work for geico and feel bad that you employer is getting bad press (Not undeserved press but public statements that while are true; are also very negative!) I guess you could just sum it up as geico sucks! (Note pics above!)
I still think this is the right way to handle a bad insurance company. Even though they will get away with not paying for this for a while, in the end they will pay! In fact, the way this will work out is that the trial will wind up costing geico multiple times more than it would if they had just stepped up and paid in the first place like they are supposed to. Why wouldn't you just pay automatically without having to be sued? If I had done what these other people have done and hit other peoples automobiles, and then my insurance company had acted as geico has in these two cases; I would fire them because they are not doing what they are supposed to! See, these are documented wrecks! There are police reports and statements as to what happened and infractions issued for breaking traffic laws. All the facts agree and support each other as to what happened. There are no 'grey' areas at all in either of these cases. In fact, even the driver's own statements entered in the police reports, state exactly what happened. For geico to ignore this and to try and not just pay what is fair and reasonable for each of these wrecks is simply wrong. What I don't understand is that these are such 'small' cases that it makes no sense to me that they would try to get out of simply paying for damages. It is not like there were any deaths here or any capitol property damaged where we would be talking about multiple millions of dollars involved. In a case involving many millions of dollars it would be reasonable to get more experts involved and to even take it all to the courts. These cases are not that! The property damage in each of these is under $5, 000. So explain to me how geico is doing the right thing here in refusing to pay!
My insurance didn't drop anything! They called me more than geico did! They kept calling to see if geico was handling everything correctly and on time. I had to tell them to not get involved. They wanted to expend their resources on this and I told them that I didn't want them to. I see it as a matter of principle. geico is responsible and my own insurance is not responsible or liable at all in any way. That is why I told them to not get involved. You see, when the courts hear these cases and find that it is geico's responsiblity they will wind up paying what is fair and resonable. The courts don't fool around either and in truth it will work out to be more than if I had just settled for some lowball amount from geico to begin with! (Here, the looser gets to pay the lawyer fees for the winner as well so that will be another good thing for me!)
Since you didn't read above: My son wound up hitting someone once. My insurance was so fast to pay for the whole thing and not try to low ball the people he hit; those people told me how well they liked dealing with my company. My insurance let them go where they wanted for repairs and did all the leg work for everything so they wound up doing almost nothing! So I am really happy with the service I get from my company! Up until then we didn't know if they took care of claims very well or not. I am very happy with my company and how they take care of me! I am also very happy that I'm the one saving a lot of money over what I would have to pay if I had geico as an insurer! (We quoted most of the insurance companies back when we switched to Liberty Mutual and I know how many thousands less than geico that we pay!) The icing on the 'cake' here is that not only do I pay a lot less for insurance I also actually have coverage without having to take them to court if I do have a claim! The standard procedure for geico is to refuse to pay or low ball and then just see if they can get away with that. I couldn't remember this web site so I 'googled' what I could remember. One search string I used was 'geico sucks' and I only got over a half million web sites of 'satisfied' geico customers... Wow! Way to go geico. Seems you are doing very good at doing so poorly!
Maybe I should have let them... I figured that this was so cut and dry and that I was fully justified in expecting geico to just pay what is fair and just that I wouldn't waste my own insurance companies resources on this. Yes they could fight this for me and they did try several times to do this for me. I think it was just the poor attitude and very poor tact of the geico adjuster that I was dealing with early on that finally set my mind to going ahead and taking them to court 'on my own'. Besides, I figure my own insurance is for 'big' things for when I really need them. We try really hard to not have any traffic violations or wrecks so that our insurance costs don't have to be any higher than possible. (Years ago I hit a deer and when my insurance agent found out about it months later, she asked me why I hadn't turned it in. I told her that I figured I would save my insurance for when I really needed it! She understood that I was just trying to keep my insurance costs as low as possible by avoiding any claims that I could.)
I suppose it is just realizing that all of these 'free services' aren't exactly free. . . . What ever each of us can do to lower the cost of things like insurance is a good thing!
Wow! Did you read what I wrote? Either I can not communicate or you can not read . . . . .
Yes, we as a family DO NOT have geico. (After this; we NEVER will!) Yes, it was not any of our fault for either of these wrecks! Actually our insurance company did more for us (Follow up calls, checking on us to see if geico was taking care of us and handling everything to our satisfaction) than geico did! Our insurance is Liberty Mutual and I had to tell them that I didn't want them involved or taking care of any of this! The reason I did this is because it was not our fault at all for either of these two wrecks. The way I figure it is: I have paid for the insurance I have and it is for ME! Since it was not our fault at all for these wrecks; I figured I did not want my insurance wasting any resources on this. I did get several calls from my insurance over this (and from different departments; not just my agent!) and I had to repeat that I didn't want them involved. Each representative kept telling me the same thing: "If you ever want us or need us involved, just let us know and we will be glad to help you out in anyway we can"! Come to think of it; I almost think that my insurance called because they found out about the wrecks. I'm pretty sure I didn't call or tell them about the wrecks!
If you re-read above you will see what geico paid and what they did not pay! They have only paid a small and token amount of what they are responsible because of the actions of their insureds. The part of covering up their customer's mistakes is ... well a true statement! I ask why would you feel like you would have to cover up anything though! Why not just admit what was done and correct it! I can assure you if I have a stupid attack and ever wrong or harm you I will just admit it and move to correct it and not cover it up!
As to the incompetent lawyer statement above: This has only been going on for a little over a year now. And we hired Jeff after trying repeatedly to work it out on our own with geico. I met Jeff in a trial that I was called to be a juror a couple of years ago. I'll admit, I don't like most lawyers because of the stereotypes that seem to fit all to many of them. I remembered Jeff from that trial because of the superior job he did in representing his clients and the way he presents himself in court. It took me a while and a little investigating to remember who he was when we decided we wanted legal representation with these wrecks. It just worked out time wise for him to represent us with both of these (They occurred almost a year apart but we had already been working with geico for quite a while on the first one on our own. When we saw that it wouldn't work out on our own and that we needed to sue and go to court the second wreck happened and geico started out with the non-sense we had already seen with the first wreck. We went and saw Jeff and hired him on the spot! When we told him about the second wreck and what geico was trying to do: I assure you he got a big grin on his face and asked: "They are saying what?! What are they thinking?" Needless to say, we are very hopeful for a satisfactory outcome in court!
I will not give away time lines here but, let me just say that the first trial is not for quite a few more months yet. So your comment about not being satisfied with the settlement or that our lawyer is incompetent are completely wrong! We are completely satisfied with our lawyer and since we haven't gone to court yet and there is no settlement well I guess we aren't satisfied just yet... But we will be!
Sounds to me like both of you work for geico and feel bad that your company is being seen in such bad light. Next time try to actually address what was written in the first place and not side track everyone from the actual facts that occurred.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I was rear ended by a Geico policy holder. Geico refuses to pay the claim even though police report states the car that hit me was at fault. My insurance company paid to have my car repaired through my insurance but I am still out my $500 deductible and my insurance company is out the money they paid to fix my car.
I like the bumper sticker idea of putting a sticker on my car noting Geico does not pay for damages to your car.
Police said I am not guilty and other guy was guilty and his fault. Police gave ticket to him. After that also Geico only wants to pay 85% for my car damage and 15% I have to pay. If you have Geico insurance just cancell it and turn on in better insurance. GEICO Bad WITH PEOPLE.
BE AWARE OF GEICO.
It makes you in trouble...
I agree everything that you said about Geico and they should be sued and their company should be shut down. it is not worth having insurance like that. I have the same problem with them. they gave me a rental car and paid for my car damage $2400, but not my medical bill. I had a very hard time with them to fix my car, they were telling me the police report and citation doesn't mean a thing, but what I don't understand is that they said they will take my statement and the person in fault statement and compare it to determine whose statement made more sense and they would go based on that. I lost it when they told me that I was in fault when in fact me and the girl wrote the statement at present time and she was found in fault and was given citation ticket by the police... so I called the girl and told her about what geico said she was even pissed the fact they did that. she called them and put them in three line and told them she was in fault and that's how my car got fixed. I don't think anybody deserve this kind of treatment after getting hurt from the car accident. I would vote for geico to be removed and I hope people are aware their insurance is not worth having at all. it's a rip of and scam.
I agree with the statement that you wrote on the above. whoever replied to you about your son being in fault for 15% and the insurance has to determine that... wow that's crazy. I believe this dumb person must be working for geico. first of all nobody should have to be responsible for getting hit, that person is not psychic, or god so how in the hell is the person that got hit suppose to prevent that, they could try and still get hit.
this is ridicules. geico insurance is not professional at all, and I have the same case with them to the point they would not pay the claim... but yet they know the person that hit me is in fault. in fact they even tried to deny the police citation report just because the girl that hit my car in the highway had geico as well, but too bad, she admitted that she was in fault because I had to give her a call and let her know that geico are saying that she was not in fault. overall their cheap and doesn't take action for their fault. thank god the girl put it in three way call and told geico that she was in fault and she was confused why they were trying not to fix my car. in the end they ended up paying $2400 for my car damage... but they refused to pay for my medical claim and I am taking it to the court with my lawyer. geico should be sued big time and their company should be shut down by law. it seems as if they want to make money by advertising it over and over. they are a scam. if they can't be responsible for their customer fault, what is the point of them charging their customers monthly payment of insurance bill? smh
Geico first agreed to issue us the $1700.00 that it would take to fix most of the work needed on our 350Z, but soon sent a 2nd person who came to our home a week after. This Geico rep, then knocked down our claim to $500.00, refusing to cover much of the vandalism. We can not get our car fixed for under $2400.00 and Geico is only paying $500.00 on it.. willowlake2012@gmail.com
Any lawyers want this? Tom
Geico will first agreed to issue us $1700.00 that it would take to fix our 350Z, tbut soon sent a 2nd person who came to our home and knocked down the claim to $500.00 we can not get our car fixed for half that. They will not cover our claim. It is now going on 8 weeks. willowlake2012@gmail.com
Tom
they assigned 15% responsibility to you for a reason. they would have disclosed that reason to you. what is it? i'm assuming the point of impact on the vehicles indicates that your vehicle may have had sufficient time to take evasive action, or that the position of your vehicle, number of lanes, etc may support the other driver being into the intersection first - believe it or not, even if you have the right of way, there is a duty to slow upon entering an intersection with caution, and yield to ANY vehicle already in the intersection. despite the other party's negligence, you may have had the last clear chance to avoid the accident. im not saying you are wrong, but the entire story is not present. and contrary to common belief - police officers do not determine fault in an auto accident. they record the facts, and the insurance companies will determine liability. the police report and citations are evidence, not the end all, be all.
Okay so here is my 2 cents...lol I use to work for a major insurance company in the claims dept, NOT geico, and I know a lot about the subject...I know that your insurance company should have worked with geico on your behalf. A lot of times people get taken advantage of by insurance companies, because they are not educated on the insurance world. So with that being said here are facts...the word is called
Subrogation in its most common usage refers to circumstances in which an insurance company tries to recoup expenses for a claim it paid out when another party should have been responsible for paying at least a portion of that claim. By law you insurance company can go to court and have a court decided who is right.
Here is wht to do in the future when you have an accident
1st when you have an accident call your insurance company ( Thats who you pay to protect you) to let them know that you were in an accident with the other company Tell them that you want to go through them to work the claim. 2nd contact a lawyer...( The reason for this step is that when a lawyer calls the insurance company they handle your claim differently, due to they know lawyers know loop hole, and the insurance company wants to make sure they have everything lined up in case they will need to go to court. Lawyers will also gather all the information that you need to help win your case) 3rd Get your own estimates with at least 1 from a Dealership. The reason for this is Dealership will give you an accurate quote. (This is what insurance companies do) Honestly a dealership quote has more standing then joe the shade tree mechanic. If you can supply a dealership quote for your car then the insurance company will think twice before low balling a claim. Last but not least do not accept any checks ( cash) if you don’t agree with claim amount. Most companies have a clause that by cashing the check you are agreeing with payment amount.
As a side note some states have different policys regarding fault, Some states are “no fault States” what that means is that even if you are not at fault can be found partly responsible. These are laws set up by your state…not the insurance company
Determining fault in a car accident is generally determined by the state in which the accident occurred. State laws vary significantly, so it is important to contact an experienced lawyer to determine whether the state has a fault or no-fault based system.
Fault states: Most states have adopted a fault-based, or “tort liability, ” system of auto insurance. In a fault-based system, insurance companies pay according to each party’s degree of fault. If you and your insurer don’t see eye-to-eye on your claim, you may have to file suit for uncompensated economic damages such as lost wages and medical expenses and non-economic damages such as pain and suffering.( In this case both companies will negotiate, who was at fault, which is not always black and white. If you are found at fault you have the right if you are found any way at fault to go to your insurance company and request they fix you car as long as you have the right coverage on your policy.
No-Fault States: Because the tort (lawsuit) system has led to long and costly court battles over who was at fault and to what degree, policymakers in many states decided to change from a fault-based system to some form of a no-fault system.
Under no-fault automobile insurance laws, the good driver does not have to prove that the crash was somebody else’s fault before getting his money. His insurance company picks up medical bills, rehabilitation costs and lost wages up to the amount he purchased. The tradeoff is the injured person cannot sue the other driver for pain and suffering, emotional distress and inconvenience. (If you live in a no-fault state, the no-fault portion of your auto insurance policy is usually called PIP or Personal Injury Protection.)
what this all means short and sweet is with the company I work for we go to court all the time an fight low paying insurance companies all the time. We inspect our insureds vehicle to deterime the repair cost and if the amount other insurance offers is not correct we fight to get the correct amount. Our motto is what the other company wont pay we dont play lol...
