I went to Checkers on the 28.11.2025 and made a payment of R3706.52 at 11.48. At 15.38 a duplicate payment went through my bank account. I spoke to FNB Fraud department who advised me that I should take it up with the merchant. Checkers says they have one payment only even though 2 amounts of R3706.52 went off my account. I have tried to contact FNB via the secure chat to get the problem sorted with no success. I cannot imagine how money could leave my bank without a card and pin number. Where are FNBs security? Checkers says they don't have the money and yet it came twice off my account.
Claimed loss: R3706.52
Desired outcome: I want my money back. Checkers says they don't have it and yet it came off twice from my account. FNB fraud department says not their problem, take it up with the merchant. So, who is at fault.
