I purchased and 8k item that did not fit correctly and decided to return. I hand delivered the item back to their retail location in Newport Beach and was told it had to be sent to their location in Carlsbad because the item was fine jewelry. After almost 2 weeks with no update on the status of the return, I reached out for status...3 attempts over 3 days and I finally got a response that the return was being processed. Once the return was processed I noticed they did not return the shipping costs, which if I had mailed the item back I understand I would be responsible for. I responded to Customer Service noting that I should have been fully refunded since I returned in person. Fast forward 2 weeks, 3 more emails saying they have changed their return policy and that in person returns still incur a return shipping cost, despite their website still saying in person returns are free (which I screen shot and emailed back with my responses) they are not able to refund the incorrectly charged return shipping expense and can only provide a store credit. This is not about 15.00 shipping, this is about the retailer following their own documented policy. I wasted so many hours on this topic, trying to get correct their mistake and make it right. This is what makes me not what to buy from a retailer, terrible experience.
Claimed loss: 15.00, several hours of my personal time
Desired outcome: Refund the incorrectly charged return shipping fee
