Claim for Compensation and Reimbursement – EU Regulation EC No 261/2004

I am contacting you regarding a significant change to our flight booking made with your airline under reference 953I3I.
The passengers concerned are:
Mr Clement Neus – ticket no. [protected]
Ms Lea Vandaele – ticket no. [protected]
Our original itinerary was as follows:
28 April 2026: Brussels (BRU) – Abu Dhabi (AUH), flight EY58 at 10:55
28 April 2026: Abu Dhabi (AUH) – Kuala Lumpur (KUL), flight EY488
We were informed that this journey has been rescheduled to 30 April 2026, representing a delay of two days, which has significantly impacted our travel plans.
In accordance with Règlement CE 261/2004, and in particular Article 7, each passenger is entitled to compensation of €600, as this journey exceeds 3,500 km and departs from the European Union.
Furthermore, under Article 9 of the same regulation, passengers are entitled to care, including accommodation costs where necessary due to flight disruption. As a result of this schedule change, a hotel reservation made based on the original travel dates has become unusable and represents a direct financial loss.
Therefore, we kindly request:
Compensation of €600 per passenger, amounting to a total of €1,200, in accordance with Article 7 of EC Regulation No 261/2004,
Full reimbursement of the hotel expenses incurred as a direct result of this modification (supporting documents attached).
