Engine & Transmission World failure to honor warranty

Purchased a used transmission for a 1995 Lexus 1995 LS400. Invoice included details of 12 month or 12000 mile parts and labor warranty. Transmission failed after 1000 mies. Company denied warranty was for stated interval, though the information appears on the sales invoice for the transmission. Said "look at the website, the warranty is only for 30 days" Then "I've got to hang up now" These guys are obviously crooks.

Engine & Transmission World scam... wrong product... kept my money

I ordered a transmission and not only did they send the wrong one, they made no effort to help me find the right one or even respond to my inquiries. Their products are awful and in terrible shape. Even if they had sent the correct one, my mechanic would not have accepted it. They will not return my money, respond to emails or return phone calls. The gentlemen I dealt with were John and Dale. What miserable human beings they are. Please do not ever buy anything from Southwest Engines, gottransmissions.com or engineandtransmissionworld.com. I am so ashamed for not doing more research because I am not a stupid woman normally! Some day when their wives, mothers, sons, and daughters fall victim to people like them, they will begin to realize the harm they have done to others.

I would like to thank the BBB of Wisconsin for the speedy resolution to my complaint. I think it is a shame that we must resort to filing against companies but I am so happy that we have the BBB to mediate. Thanks again for your help.

I ordered a transmission from gottransmission.com and they also sent me the wrong transmission, when I called them to try and get the right one they attempted to charge me double and when I told them that was unacceptable and I wanted to return their transmission the warranty guy wanted told me out of the $905 I paid that they would only return $300. He also threatened that if I attempted to take any action against them he wouldn't return any funds, please if your smarter than me don't by from this company! Has anyone had luck with legal or BBB actions? if so contact me at terrence.young@usmc.mil

Engine & Transmission World bad engine

WARNING! Working with this company is a NIGHTMARE. Do NOT order from this company and PLEASE read all the other complaints on this company if you doubt me. If ONLY I had checked the BBB website before I purchased and engine from them. By the way, I now have a complaint at the BBB on this company as well. Called the Wisconsin Consumer Protection Agency after my troubles and it was confirmed that Engine and Transmission World seems to be a company with regular complaints. SHAME on me for not doing what you are doing right now (reading the independent reviews) before I ordered the engine for my 2000 Pontiac Montana. I got only 500 miles out of that engine and it never ran correctly to start with once it was installed. Finally figured out that the heads were bad. It overheated and blew coolant out through the radiator. EATW was willing to give me my money back IF I sent the engine back at my expense (labor and shipping) and ONLY IF the heat tabs were not melted or missing. EATW could not tell us where the heat tabs would be located and if they did it probably wouldn't matter...IT OVERHEATED! As far as the "warranty". I received it 2 months after the install and the paperwork said that I needed to take it to a mechanic, have them change the oil, record the mileage, put some tablets they sent to put in the radiator, verify that the work was done, and then I would have to drive the vehicle an additional 500 miles before the warranty would start. Nowhere on the website was that information divulged. So today, three months after purchasing the engine, I am $3000 poorer and right back where I was prior to purchasing and engine from EATW, plus a lot of time and headaches as well. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

Engine & Transmission World scam alert

I purchased a low mileage engine and transmission. The after the time and expenses of the install I found the engine had worse compression and blew more oil than the one I was replacing. My first clue that this company was disreputable should have been that the motor came with bolts broken off which my mechanic patiently extracted. The trans was as bad. My complaints to customer service were met with snarky even cranny responses. The answer was try some additive to your oil or take them out and ship them back at my expense and pay the mechanic again for the labor.
BOTTOM LINE: I threw away thousands that could have been spent at a dealership getting a new or rebuilt with a warranty. ETW sells junk and doesn't stand behind it!

I ordered an engine from Engine and Transmission World, AKA swengines.com. I needed an engine with specific features so I was careful to ask lots of questions about the engine they wanted to sell to me. The salesman, Dale, assured me that he had the right engine. The engine arrived about two weeks later, but it wasn't even close to being the right engine. I called Engine and Transmission World whereupon Dale acted arrogantly and condescending towards me. He insisted that the right engine had been shipped even though he didn't even take the time to ask a single question in order to at least pretend that he was interested in figuring out the problem. I contacted the Wisconsin Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint.

Dale responded to the complaint by acknowledging that the wrong engine had been shipped. I called Dale and he told me that a replacement engine was being shipped-out and that the first engine would be picked-up soon. They picked-up the first engine.

Two weeks went by and I still hadn't received the replacement engine. I called Dale and he told me that a replacement engine wasn't being shipped because he didn't have the right one. Thanks for letting me go for two weeks thinking that an engine was on its way! So much for customer service or basic human kindness! They could have called me instead of letting me think they were shipping an engine. I asked why my credit card hadn't been credited for the $1, 645 and Dale said because they rejected the return shipment because it arrived "freight collect." WHAT? Let me get this right. THEY sell me the wrong engine, so THEY arrange to pick it up and ship it to THEMSELVES "FREIGHT COLLECT." Then THEY reject the shipment that THEY arranged, and now THEY are waiting for me to pay for a shipment that THEY arranged before THEY will credit my card for the purchase for which THEY defrauded me in the first place!

THEY ARE A FRAUD AND SCAM. DO NOT BUY AN ENGINE FROM SWENGINES OR ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WORLD. GOOGLE THEM AND SEE ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ABOUT THEIR COMPANY. THEY HAVE A "F" RATING WITH THE WISCONSIN BBB.

Engine & Transmission World customer service terrible

The transmission they sent me had a bad selenoid and ended up costing me and anddition 160.00. They refuse to give me my money back for the additional charge. They act like this is normal and I get no response on the other end of the line when I ask for a credit. They gave me a song and dance saying they would take care of it. But, I called again and again to no avail. Many times I would just get silence on the other end of the phone. They should be put out of business.

I contacted Southwest Engines for a quote on an engine for my 2005 Ford explorer xlt sport trac. I received 21 emails saying the same thing in one day because I never responded to their quote. I did a reply to the email telling them to Please stop repeat emailing me and that I had decided to have my engine rebuilt. This is where it got ugly.First I received an email stating that if I requested a quote from all their sites, it wasn't their problem. I responded explaining that I didn't, I asked for a quote from just one site, one time and felt it was rude to speak to me this way and if this was how they treated their customers I would warn others of this. The last email was calling me a lying piece of ### ect ect.A Bad place, never order from them! I still am getting emails like this!

Engine & Transmission World fraud

I purchased an engine that was 'supposed' to have been bench tested with only 57, 000 miles on it. It could NOT have been tested because it was incapable of running. It had a melted piston in #4 cylinder, a blown head gasket and a warped cylinder head. They refused to warranty it. Their game is simple: Since they probably do not have business offices in your state, Small Claims Court will not take the case. It is out of their jurisdiction. Your only option is to hire an attorney and go the civil route or travel to Milwaulkee. This will likely cost you more than you got screwed out of and they bank on that. Avoid these people at all costs! They are a scamming outfit and are as disreputable as the day is long.

We were assured that unlike the competitors, ETW was an honest business. Dale said the engine would come with a carfax and made some excuse why it wasn't shipped for 3 weeks. Our mechanic said no carfax was included with the shipment. Luckily he opened up the manifold before firing it up because there were loose parts in it, and a cylinder was leaking..the mechanic said it was a piece of **&((. We complained to Dale and he said he would replace it...meantime the serial # had been filed down so it was impossible to compare it to the bogus carfax that eventually came. We are out thousands of dollars in labor plus the totally useless broken engine. We are hoping to hear how to get restitution and also get this guy shut down. You reap what you sow, Dale..and karma's a you know what..

Engine & Transmission World scammed

Needing a motor for my Land Rover I ordered what was advertised as a clean low mile engine from Engine and Transmission World for $2070 delivered. What I received was a junk motor that cannot even be rebuilt. All internal parts including the cylinder sleeves are rusted.

Engine and Transmission World claims they test ran the motor and verified oil pressure, compression and cylinder leak down. The motor they sent could not have been test ran; nothing is operable on this motor. They had filled the cylinders with ATF in a lame attempt to hide the rust. The motor was full of mud and looked like it had been sitting in the bottom of a lake.

I have the pictures and witnesses to document everything I am saying is true. Someday, someway I will get these ### and they will pay harshly.

Engine & Transmission World sent dead engine for service truck

We ordered a used engine for a service truck in our fleet. Engine took 20 days to get to us, and when we had it installed, the mechanic called and told us it was locked up. Over the next couple of months, we tried to get either a refund, or return, or credit...anything to resolve the matter. When you call, no matter what number you choose from the menu, you get Bill. Customer service is sorely lacking and the whole outfit is as unprofessional as any we have ever encountered. Bill is threatening over the phone, until you tell him lawyers are involved. He seemed to get a little more agreeable after that. Do yourselves a huge favor and avoid these cheats.

Engine & Transmission World fraud/scam

Took my money, cannot produce product. Very rude cusromer service, cannot tell me where my shipment is after 28 days. Claims shipping is to be 10-14 days from purchase. Customer service people just want to say "we'll call you" and then never do.
Always the same answer, claims they need to trace the shipment and will call me within the hour. Then told that a trace takes 24 hours then 24 to 48 hours then no response at all.
Do not do bussiness with Engine and Transmission World. They are not what they calim to be. Now I have to deal with getting my $800 back and locating another part for my vehicle after being incredibly patient. Don't waste your time order your part from somewhere else.

On August 24, 2014 I purchased a 4XAS transmission, Invoice 242713 from SW engines in 2100 E College Ave, Cudahy, WI [protected] for $785. They delivered a model 4XAN, totally incompatible and useless to me. Sent pictures of model number on the pan proving what they sent was wrong. The single response on 11/4/14 was, You ordered the wrong one and it will cost 25% restocking plus $175 shipping each way to replace. The corporate office (Bill) in St Louis, MO who promised immediate correction and would call back that afternoon (11/4/14). He never called. I have started sending complaint letters to everyone in this world and will not quit until I get a refund. They are sleeze balls.

Engine & Transmission World rude, unprofessional and unreliable

These people are the most unprofessional, Unreliable and rude people I have ever dealt with. First of all I ordered an engine from them which came weeks late and when it did arrive it was damage. The sure didnt mention that when I talked to them. So I got the engine repaired and they agreed to refund me for that. I waited well past when I was told I would get my refund and called them, they told me they already credited my account. Yeah right. Well after fighting with them for 45 minutes (38 of which I was on hold). DALE finally said oh ok well I guess you'll get it in the next couple of days. Still haven't received it. I would really like to know who owns this company and have some words with him or her about what kind of people they have working for them representing their company.

If all the people who are pissed at Dale at EATW got together I am sure there would be enough that we could take down a small country. What a rude individual and how in the world is this company still doing business. Wish I never would have stumbled upon their website. Buying from them was one of the worst decisions, top 5, I have ever made in my 44 year life.

Engine & Transmission World used motor

The one time I don't properly research before purchasing, I land on these guys. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! The motor they sent (late) failed not long after I had it put in. Then the real fun started. They stalled long enough to then be able to say, "The motor is out of warranty." Their responses have been ridiculous and infrequent. Flee! Flee for your lives!

I am going through the same. But I am going to call LKQ on Monday because that is where the part came from so I think these people are only selling for LKQ. So I feel that LKQ should be responsible. But I got a transmission and front differential and the transmission was dead so I paid the mechanic extra to split them and put the differential on my old transmission which is loud but still works, I wanted them to replace my transmsssion but they said I was frauding them, frauding isn't even a word. Dale is an idiot.

These people are con artists. I ordered an 02 Dodge Ram Engine with 30, 000 miles and was promised it would be delivered within a week. After 2 months, I STILL had no engine. It wasn't until I disputed the credit card charge and consulted with an attorney that they finally sent an engine, that my mechanic said has been blown and has at LEAST 120, 000 miles on it. Dale and his staff will constantly lie, telling you that the engine is on it's way, that they will have a tracking number any day, etc. etc. etc. to get you to hold on until it is too late to dispute your credit card charges. I am STILL fighting with them over the $2600 on a POS engine. Do NOT do business with this company. You will regret it. Buyer beware.

They sent an engine that was not the one we ordered. Carfax paperwork did not match engine. When we tried to return, they refused insisting it was right engine. Since they refuse to acknowledge it is the wrong engine, they refuse to give money back. The best offer they have is to ship back at up to $500 of our own dime and get dinged with a hefty restocking fee. They know they have us between a rock and a hard place because all they have to do is deny, deny, deny and lie, lie, lie through there rotten teeth. Allen the general manager will become abusive and hang up if you challenge him. These people have no conscience and just bring misery into the world.

Engine & Transmission World ripped off by internet con artists

On Saturday, Feb.26, 2011 about 1:00p.m EST We 've placed an Internet order( #194889)of motor engine (mileage 33, 229) for our 2002 Subaru Forester S. on www.engineandtransmissionworld.com and instantly paid $1995.00 with credit card.
Unfortunately, We have been forced to cancel our order after we made a shocking discovery about 'Engine and transimmission world' shody business practices from BBB and other consumer advocate agencies. To mention a few as an example, since June 2009, more than 120 complaints of various nature have been filed against this 'company' and scored 'F' in it's BBB rating. The complaints from it's innocent victims range from delivering junk motor engines to it's customers and Scamming them by charging 25%' restocking fee' when they return the item. Actually, according to many complaints reported to consumer protection agencies by these victims, this is it's main method of scam. Here I'm not argueing that charging restocking fee for returned merchandise is unlawfull business practice. It becomes, unethical and unlawful when companies delibarately used it as a method of enriching themselves at the expense of unsuspecting customers. This is exactly what the above mentioned company is doing here.It advertises on its website unbelievably low mileage motor engines for sale (we began to suspect that they have those engines in their inventory after we observed their sytem generating the same mileage of 33, 229 now and again when we placed fake order on their website) They ship out junk high mileage even sometimes dead engines to its customers fully knowing that the item will be returned to them. In both cases, they have nothing to lose. if the customer returns the item, he/she pays return shipping and 25% "restocking fee" on average about $500.00 per engine. If the customer keeps the engine on the other hand obviously still they enjoy their profit.
In our case, They charged us 25% (498.75) "restocking fee" for the order we canceled with in hours if not days, after we placed . even before they begin processing the paper work let alone to pull our order. We have material evidence at our desposal to support our claim.
We would like to see this sharks to be removed from the web as soon as possible.

Engine & Transmission World company

I just ordered an engine from the company and after the extremely rude customer service I've received I attempted to call and cancel my order. The engine hasn't been shipped and I have received several different responses after requesting the CarFax. The last Customer service agent got very upset when I asked to cancel my order and said I agreed to a 25% return fee, (over $400.00) when I ordered the engine, even though the engine hasn’t even left the building. I informed the, what I assume was a manager after being transferred several times without warning, that the customer service agents were very rude and his response was, "Well they get angry after you ask them the same question over and over, I just told you four minutes ago all of our CarFax reports get emailed on Friday afternoon." I said okay, I guess I'll wait, but before I could say goodbye he hung up on me. Let's see what happens from here. Do I take the $400.00 hit or try my luck and wait until the engine gets shipped? I also purchased the 3 year warranty; I'm thinking I just screwed myself.

Engine & Transmission World misleading advertising

Our 2001 Subaru engine suddenly conked out - the piston went through it and ruined it. It was difficult for the repair shop to find a replacement engine. Another mechanic told us that it would be difficult to find one. I decided to find one on the web, and was thrilled to find, after putting in the VIN and all other information, a reasonably priced low-mileage engine from Engine and Transmission World in Wisconsin. The repairman thought it was a great deal, and told me to go ahead and get it, particularly since the shipping was free. I was worried someone else might get it, and did not do the research I should have. I paid $1745 for the engine with a credit card.
I e-mailed the company four days later to find out when it would ship, and was told I'd be notified "when it ships." I became somewhat disconcerted by not getting any sort of receipt. The company claimed that they sent one, to check the spam folder. I did, and did not find a receipt. I googled Engine and Transmission World, and found all the complaints. I decided to cancel the order, so we would not be stuck with having to ship back a defective engine. I received an e-mail stating "your paranoia is overwhelming" for cancelling the order, and was told that I just lost $4o0 because "we deal with customers like you all the time and win." This suggests to me that the company is in business by pocketing the "restocking fee" when customers begin to wonder where their engine is.
I called the Wisconsin Consumer Complaints department and was told that they receive numerous complaints about this company. I was advised to contact my own state's consumer protection agency, and I did. I also left a complaint on the Federal Trade Commission Consumer Complaints website.
I received 75% of the purchase price back on the credit card. The company claimed that they prepared the engine for shipment, and thus are entitled to the restocking fee. I researched the company in the Wisconsin Corporations website. Their agent for service of process (the person contacted when they are sued) is a New York law firm, C T Corporation, registered in Delaware, which advertises that it helps businesses "counter lawsuits in a timely manner."
I wish I had researched this company before ordering - I was just worried that the engine would be sold before I could get it. Rereading the documents, I noticed that the parts E a TW advertises are "OEM replacement parts." The company has logos of all the major automakers on its website, however. They claim to have been "in business for many years, " but they have been registered under this name only since March 2010. Beware!

Engine & Transmission World warranty

I ordered an engine through Engine & Transmission World back in October for my 2001 Cadillac DeVille. The engine they advertised online came with a Carfax report and only had 37k miles on it. When the shop received the engine they said it looked very clean. After installing the engine my wife drove the car for a day or two and it began to overheat. We took it back to the shop and they tried several different things. Finally, they thought it was the head gaskets. I called E&TM and they said they check the head gaskets on all engines before sending them out. The parts person told me to have the shop check the radiator. The shop did find the radiator was bad and we put a new one in. After doing this the car still overheated. The shop checked with the local Cadillac dealership and the dealership told them it was probably the head gaskets. I called Dale at E&TM and he said to have the shop send over an estimate on how much it would cost to have fixed. The shop did this. After finding out it would cost more to repair the engine then to send a new one, E&TM sent a new engine. After this it took over a month to get the 2nd engine sent to me. Now, the shop still needed to charge me to take out the first bought engine and put in the 2nd bought engine. E&TM said they would not pay for this expense. I called and basically they didnt seem to care that they sent me a junk engine in the first place. I also never saw a Carfax report and neither did the shop for either engine. So I am now on the hook for an additional $1400 to take out/replace the new engine. I called E&TM and asked if I had paid the $295 for the 3 year labor warranty if that would have covered the fee and Dale advised me it would not. So I am not sure what the labor warranty actually gets you. Now today after almost 2 months since sending the 2nd engine I get a call from E&TM asking to pick up the 1st engine they sold me. I am not sure if they are planning to try and re-sell a piece of ### engine to someone else or not. Anyway, I would purchase an engine someplace else if you can.

Engine & Transmission World scam

Engineandtransmissionworld.com 2100 E College Ave, Cudahy, WI 53110. [protected]. We placed our order with them on Sep 29th, but due to having the engine shipped to a different state than the billing address, Dale Jones said they couldn’t process it without me faxing my VISA and drivers license to them. After I did, they processed the $1, 290.00 on Oct 4th. Oct 7th I called them to get a shipping number and they said they couldn't’t find my engine and the shipper had lost it. But the email I have with the tracking number on it (received Oct 25th) says the shipper (R&L Carriers) didn’t even pick up the engine till Oct 22nd! I called them to verify this and they told me they picked it up from a Mathew Stuart in IL. 62254. When it arrived on Oct 27th, a month after I placed my order, it was laying on its side with a broken pallet. The shipping tag didn’t have my invoice # on it and said it was a 93 GMC.

It says on their site they provide a free CARfax with each purchase but they won’t let us see the entire thing. When we looked up the engine serial #T0627AAC, the manual from GMC tells us the “T” means it’s a ’96 and is NOT compatible with ours. They sent us a '96, we ordered a '99. The '99 is metric with small bolt holes. The '96 is SAE with large bolt holes. We shouldn't have to buy all new hardware to make this fit what we already have. IF we bought new SAE hardware, the bolt holes are still too big and would have too much play. IF it was a close enough fit, the ‘99 Starter doesn't match the ’96 flywheel. So there's a new starter and flywheel we have to buy.

The engine they advertised had about 33, XXX miles, but interestingly enough, the last time that VIN number (1GNDT13W8X2154007) was sold was Oct 7th (The same day I asked them for a shipping number). They can’t advertise an exact mileage if they don’t have possession of it yet (false advertising).

When we attempt to tell them this they interrupt us and say our mechanic (who is a certified mechanic and my father-in-law) doesn't know what he's doing and is trying to rip us off. We have asked them for a full refund since this is NOT what we ordered, but they refuse saying “the shipping to you is non-refundable, you pay the return shipping and there’s a 25% restocking fee”. When we try to talk to them they yell at us and hang up. Dale Jones and Allen have stated they will no longer be doing business with us because we are seeking legal help, they will charge us the 25% restocking fee and we “had better return the engine”.

We oiled the engine, put on a pressure gauge and spun it. Our test PROVED the engine was no good. Here's what we got: valve 1:210. 2:ZERO. 3:180. 4:165. 5:155. 6:110. They are suppose to be within 25 of each other.

I have contacted my attorney. I have contacted the local police of Cudahy, WI. I have also spoken with Erin Morgan with the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Wisconsin [protected]) is aware that Engineandtransmissionworld.com has changed their name many times, to include: “Midwest City Auto salvage” & “SW engines Inc.” and is investigating them. They have also been a fulltime member of “uneedapart.com” since 2002. I reported them to the BBB on Nov 3rd 2010 (they have business ID [protected]). I reported them to the FBI on Nov. 7th 2010. I reported them to "Internet Crime Complaint Center" at www.ic3.gov on Nov 7th 2010. I reported them to the FTC ftccomplaintassistant.gov Consumer Response Center, 1-877-FTC-HELP on Nov 7th reference number is: [protected], OMB number: [protected]. I have reported them to NBC channels 4 and 15 on Nov 10th. I have reported them to ABC channel 12. I have contacted the city hall of Cudahy, WI. on Nov 10th. I have contacted the city of Cudahy, WI. on Nov 10th. I have contacted Fox news channel 6 on Nov 10th. I have contacted 20/20 on ABC, Nov 10th. I have contacted 60 minutes on CBS, Nov 10th. I will not rest till they cannot rip off anyone else again.

Thank you for your time in this matter that has gotten out of hand.

I really wish I had read these complaints before I gave these shysters my credit card. I purchased a " grade a1 transmission " for a 2002 forester. It was advertised as having around 65k miles on it for 1130$. They shipped it out and it arrived at my mechanics shop within a week. I was working out of town when it arrived but my wife called and said that the mechanics would not install it for a variety of faults. It showed up, as another person mentioned, on its side on a broken pallet. The neutral switch was bent as if the tranny was dropped on its side. Oil cooler pipe was bent badly, dipstick tube was bent so that the dipstick was stuck in side. Oil pan looked like someone drove over a large round rock at least once and the pan was sealed with a nasty permatex job I guess because it was too warped for a gasket. And the worst of all is that some genius cut the wire harness with a large cable cutter nice and tidy right at the body of the tranny so the pan would have to be removed and all the wires replaced. I called the warranty dept. and was sent an email link to file a claim which I did including the issues in writing and photos. I hear nothing from the company but a shipper calls me a few days after to tell me they will pick up the tranny in a few days. In the meantime my mechanics are pulling this thing out of their shop and putting it back every day for about a week(bless their hearts) until the shipper showed up. In the shippers email he specified that the unit was securely attached to the pallet( which again was broken), so I brought an impact driver and some screws to the shop and repaired the pallet and put a bunch of screws in the straps,

It has now been 3 weeks since the unit shipped and Iv'e called the warranty department at least 3 times. The sevice rep has told me on those occasions that when the unit is confirmed received in the shop they will issue a refund. I have at least as many calls into the aforementioned Dale Jones without any response. When I read the first submission on this thread and saw how many different agencies this poor guy has contacted I could have cried. If only I had known. I would wonder how this company is still in business but I'm pretty sure it's simply because they're making so much money and doing so much volume that they don't care if a percentage of their product is crap. They use their testimonials to suck you in and since it's all online you're powerless to do anything about it. Sure wish I wasn't 12 states away. Stay away from these people.

Paid nearly $2000 for a motor they sent that looks like they pulled it out of a wrecked vehicle that was sitting at the bottom of a river. When we tried to speak with someone about it, they put us on hold for 2hrs. Now, i will let my credit card company fight with them.

They have told me that if I complain to my credit card company and get a charge back, they will void my warranty.

I'm hoping they do. I'm sure the Wisconsin Dept. of Justice would LOVE to hear of such blatant chicanery.

I just received a 3000.00 dollar used engine in horrible condition. None of the intake and turbo plumbing is capped. Every gasket and orifice is leaking and has been for years it appears. The engine also came from a third party Johnson auto recycling out of ashville, NC. It was butchered when removed from the 2011 Mazdz cx-7. The engine appears to have in excess of 200k on it. I waited an additional 2 weeks to receive this P.0.S...Do not purchase any auto parts from this company. I am a shop owner and would never install something like this in any automobile.

well they got me too ! They bought a transmission from Vander haags, they sent me the wrong transmission a month later. Engine and transmission world pd $1000 plus $150 for shipping than sold it to me for $1695. When they were refunded by Vander haags for $1150, they refused to credit my card. Every one in business is there to make profit, but they have proven themselves not to have integrity . Definitely, not on the square and level ! Stay away.

I ordered an engine for my 2002 Toyota Corola. I got the engine and had to replace the oil pan because the one that came with the engine was damaged. The crankcase was full of sand. I cleaned it up and installed it in the car. It did run ok, but it would use 1 quart of oil per tank of fuel. I also purchased the 3 year 36, 000 mile warranty for $395. I did not drive the car much and it took a while to get some miles on it. I e-mailed them about the oil consummation, and they asked me if I had called them to activate my warranty. I figured that after I bought it, it would be in effect. I was wrong. So I am out of luck. I do not know who they paid to write those testimonials, but after what I have dealt with, and seen here, they won't be getting one from me. At least I got my engine, some folks never did, and it was what I ordered. If you are thinking about buying ANYTHING from these people, I would reconsider. I would NEVER EVER EVER use these people again!

We also bought a transmission from Southwest Transmission in Tulsa Ok. They sent us a defective transmission that they knew wasn't any good and refused to honor the warranty. They lied and said it was the mechanics fault because he didn't install it properly. We spent 720 dollars on the transmission and 400 dollars to have it installed. This company is being ran by a bunch of lying, rude thieves. We called them repeatedly and couldn't get anything but the run around and more lies.We never received any documentation with the engine or any instructions about the warranty. This kind of fraud needs to be investigated and we intend to file complaints with every available agency! These cut throat b@stards should be tarred and feathered and run out of town. Southwest Tran.refused to send me another transmission or give us back our money. AVOID THIS COMPANY'S SCAMS! THEY ARE JUST A BUNCH OF RIP OFF ARTISTS WHO OR OUT TO TAKE YOUR MONEY.

Engine & Transmission World false claims and misleading ads

We have recently ordered an engine from Engine and Transmission World and the engine they sent us is not what was advertised. We believe we have been ripped off and really do not know what to do. The company says that they " provide every one of their customers with a valid Carfax to verify the mileage of the vehicle, as well as the year make and model the part was pulled from. " So we figured hey this is a standup company lets try them and see how it goes. Well we are trying to get them to honor their company policy but to no avail. We had purchased an engine which listed " 43, 445 miles on it for $1, 495.00 (Includes Free Shipping)" They charged us an additional $75.00 for shipping to a residential address which is no where stated until you are already at the final payment page to place your order. Even their ads say free shipping in all 48 states. The Carfax in no way verifies or even comes close to the engine we thought we ordered and when we contacted we were told that this is normal and everything is fine. Fine ? The engine we recieved had been extremely abused and neglected. It had to be totally taken apart and inspected and cleaned. Actually looks like it has well over 100, 000 miles or more on it. It was possibly seized due to cylinder wall scoring and burnt oil smell as well as the completely gunked up internals. There was water in the cylinders (no spark plugs at all, nothing to keep moisture out of the heads, the oil pan was crushed and someone had hammered it out so it has a crack in it and it looks really bad. One of the valve covers is also damaged and much more. It is nothing like what their website boasts about as far as quality and all the other false wording they use. If I try to ask for a refund they want us to pay for return shipping costs and that is not right. So we have a lump of metal sitting here and would like to know what to do to get the engine we paid for. Much time has been wasted already just in inspecting and trying to prep this "mistake" with no happy ending in sight. Their adevertising is misleading and false. There is no way we can have this engine installed and be sure it will last for any length of time. We may try to get an exchange once the mechanic decides what we may or may not do.( as far as doing the installation and maybe having to do it again before the 180 day warranty expires). We tried to take pictures with a cell phone but they do not come close to what we see and smell (burnt oil) ourselves. Our advice to anyone considering making a purchase from these people : get the Carfax first before you pay for anything. Insist on it or walk away. We believed them and trusted them. They decieved us and have lost good customers and much more.

Sadly they don't care about losing you, because they have your money. You should file a complaint with the BBB not that it will do any good for a refund. At the moment they have 111 of them and they have not addressed any of them. They are con's. I am happy I found out before I gave them a dime.

I am so happy that I caught the salesman in a lie about a price that he gave me. He then began to yell and scream over the phone while I am asking him about a 3, 500 engine. He couldn't give me a manager and then proceeded to send me a crazy email saying he wouldn't answer my questions because I wasn't his customer. I found them listed on the BBB site with 111 complaints and they haven't been in business a year. The internet is definitely the best tool for researching the thieves and cons such as this. STAY AWAY!

Engine & Transmission World fraud

on engineandtransmissionworld.com out of wisconsin

My name is Brandon Ogorzolka my phone number is [protected] my email is [protected]@hotmail please call me or email me...
engine and transmission world is FRAUD and here is my story..

I ordered a 2002 GMC Duramax engine and transmission from www.engineandtransmissionworld engine spost to have 45, 000 miles and transmission spost to have 39, 000 miles after waiting 19 days I received a transmission from a company called LKQ out of california but the pallet had been broke and the transmission fell off the pallet on to its top and broke 4 sensors and bent 2 brackets. First thought was well I have the parts off my other transmission to put on this so no big deal! Well I decided to refuse the order and get one with all the parts in good shape! So the shipping company asked if he could leave the transmission at my location due to it was his first delievery, I said ya of course not big deal and he said also would you mind sitting it on a new pallet and tieing it down I said ya no big deal.. So I did so and in the middle of doing this I decided to pull the tourqe converter off and just look at the condition of the oil and I found brown burnt oil looked like it had 300, 000 miles on it and it was spost to have only 39, 000 miles so that worried me and got me to thinking so I got it all tied down and loaded up later that day when he came back by... Then decided to call up engineandtransmissionworld and tell them that I was going to need another transmission due to this one had been damaged and the guy laughed at me and said thats between you and the shipping company and I thought ya your right but then said actually its not due to the fact that I rejected it that makes it your problem! He said we will send you another transmission right away and we hung up.. I later called back and asked why I have not received a carfax on either item? Engineandtransmissionworld said you will get a carfax with your item! I said well thats not going to be good enough I want to either cancel my order or you provide a carfax now.. We went back and forth for quite awhile and finally he said the carfax's will be emailed to you and hung up on me! So I waited around for a carfax and did recieve a carfax on two different VIN numbers.. both duramax pickups with the maching parts that I needed one 2 wheeldrive and one 4 wheel drive. Due to the fact that I ordered a 4wheeldrive transmission and a engine I knew that the engine had to be coming out of the 2 wheel drive pickup.. So I decided to run my own carfax on that same VIN number and I got one and it matched almost perfect other than on the one they sent me it said vehicle purchased by engineandtransmissionworld well guess what on the one I ran it didnt say that and Carfax does not give out names like that anyway! So off the carfax that I ran had a city where this vehicle had been taken apart. So I started calling salvage yards until I found the one that had that VIN in there system and asked them who they sold that engine to and if they happend to have that serial number off that engine.. The guy looked up in his files and said I do not have the actual serial number because all we go by is VIN but I did sell that engine to a place called low mileage engines in memphis, tn.. So I got there phone number and asked them if they happend to have the serial number off that engine and who they sold it to. The lady started digging a little and said um Sir I have that engine in stock for sale and have never sold it to anyone.. So I presented this proof to engineandtransmissionworld and told them I want my money back in full right now or im calling the cops well the guy there named DALE extension 102 told me basically ha good luck.. I said sounds good see ya then about 5 mins later he calls me being all nice and said your money will be refunded in full you will see it in your account in about 3 days and I said ok sounds good.. Then about 5 mins later I recieve another phone call from that same number and its a guy saying oh and by the way I just wanted you to know it must have been a typo when entering the VIN.. Well if anyone knows anything about VIN numbers its a little hard to typo a 17 Character number and come up with the same kinda pickup with the same mileage the has been wrecked! I have proof of all this and think that engineandtransmissionworld should be shut down and the guys running the joint should be put in prision for fraud.. I did get my money back but look how much research I had to go through to prove they were commiting a crime! Do not fall for this company because they are exactly what they tell you to look out for! Brokers with no inventory Thanks for reading this and I hope this makes the news because this company needs shut down...

These clowns have had 99 BBB complaints since June '09. Shameless. But they have this hilarious message on their website: "Be aware of brokers that pretend to be actual salvage yards. Companies that do not have an actual yard with a full inventory are brokers, and they are simply up-selling you for a larger profit. These brokers sell you a marked up part, then they scour the internet and purchase the cheapest low quality parts and purchase them for next to nothing. They then proceed to send that part to you. They do NO testing, NO cleaning, and provide NO documentation."
There's nothing wrong with brokering - all recyclers do it - but these guys are idiots for giving a warning then doing the exact same thing!

Totally agree. Engine and Transmission World is a rip off. Numerous phone calls as I was not given tracking number, kept getting the runaround. Engine finally arrived some three weeks after they had my money and it was the WRONG engine. Said they would refund my money. Engine was picked up and returned, only received partial refund after again calling a few weeks later. Dale said the engine they sent was the right engine so they charged me the return shipping and a 25% restocking fee totaling $650.00. I had a certified mechanic doing the work, the engine they went was for an automatic, I have a manual. They had my vin number plus I told them it was a five speed several times. Dale even admitted that the vin numbers split the year my vehicle was manufactured and gave that reason for the wrong engine being sent originally.
