DPD UK review: Too stressful to use this company again

Yesterday, Tuesday 30 June 2026, I was given a delivery slot of 1630-1730 for the delivery of a parcel.

I followed the progress of my named delivery driver, Zachary, online. At 1720 the tracking indicated that the delivery would be made in approximately 15 minutes. At 1740 the screen changed from the map to a message to say that the delivery could not be made as the receiver could not provide a valid PIN code. No attempt was made to deliver this parcel, I had the PIN code available and ready to give to the driver.

I tried to rearrange the delivery by telephone only to be told that they system was experiencing problems and I should try again later.

I sent an email to the email address listed on their website for customer service but the mail was not delivered, 'address not found'.

I resorted to sending a private message to what appeared to be the DPD support site on X. I was contacted on WhatsApp by someone, but when they expected me to share my screen and start entering bank details in order to receive my compensation, I smelled a very big rat and cancelled everything. The site is very convincing and has a lot of posts but appears to originate in Kenya.
