I am a disabled man in his 60’s , I was expecting a large parcel, to be delivered to my apartment. I live in sheltered accommodation, the driver rang the intercom to my building to let him in. The building is large and I am on the second floor quite a way from the main entrance. I waited by my front door but my delivery didn’t come. The driver sent a photo saying the parcel had been delivered, but it had been left by the main entrance doors, a long way from me. I called a spoke to a rude and very unhelpful customer service agent who explained it was my fault, for not telling the company I had purchased from that I was disabled. He told me there was nothing for them to do, and put the phone down on me. My experience with DPD was appalling! Both the driver and the customer service treated me with disrespect, the company clearly don’t train their staff about how elderly or disabled people struggle to lift and carry large parcels. Simply, the don’t care!’
