Dollar General service

At approximately 0135 pm on 1 September 2018, I was standing in line waiting for service. After 10 minutes, Two customers contacted an employee for check out assistance. The employee did not acknowledge either customer. Another 10 minutes goes by and customers start making noise with a squeaky elephant. Myra the store manager emerged from the back complaining at the customer for trying to get assistance to get out of the store. It was 0200 pm when I got back into my car. Please review this stores customer service orientation because getting the money going out the door is a bigger priority than stocking. Thanks next stop let my 5000 friends know about the terrible service. Timothy Jones

If people would stop acting like elephants or as I would say, [censored]es, maybe people would get waited on faster. JS

Dollar General grand daughter spilled glue

Apparently my little grand daughter spilled a bottle of glue on the floor. A couple days later I was in the check out line about 6-8 feet from the counter when the manager asked me if they had talked to me about my granddaughter, when I told her I did not know what she meant, she proceeded to tell me my grand daughter could not come back into the store and then said well she has to stay with you when you are in here. Other patrons were in line and heard the entire conversation. I went home and asked my grand daughter about spilling the glue and she said she did spill it because she picked it up and the lid was loose. I then sent my husband back to the store to pay for the glue my grand daughter had spilled. The manager was refusing to take the money stating no I have already damaged it out. Then she denied speaking to me about it in front of the other patrons. My husband was then told to leave and not come back. He threw the $10.00 bill at her and walked out. I have been a loyal customer of Dollar General stores for years but I will never again frequent one of your establishments if this is the way these managers treat their customers. I would have gladly have paid for anything my grand daughter had spilled she just didn't have to be so rude about it. My grand daughter is a child and do it intently.

Dollar General concerned patron and customer

I dont think its appropriate that the manager prince dates his manager chardae. It is not healthy for any business to have employees working together while also being intimate. As well as the managers talking about their system being short hundreds of dollars then when this couple comes in the system being exact after being short. I thought this store would be better then the bristol ct store and it seems more corrupt. How does a manager blame a regular employee for the mishap. How does a manager say the system is like that.. Having negative amounts then next day being exact. This terryville ct store does not seem to be being run correctly. I've worked management before and never had I heard any of this before till I came to the terryville ct store a few times different hours of the days. Something seems wrong and I feel it should be corrected.

Dollar General condition of the store

The Dollar General store located in Seiling, OK has been a huge disappointment and each visit gets more and more frustrating. It is IMPOSSIBLE to drive a shopping cart down most aisles. A majority of the shelves are not stocked appropriately, large metal rolling carts are left in the aisles, and trash is all over the floor. On rare occasion I find what I went in there for. I have decided to take photos and file a complaint after every visit until the condition of this Dollar General location improves.
SEE all 10 PHOTOS!

Dollar General unethical behavior, poor customer service

I just experienced the worst Customer Service in ALL of my life. In entered into your Store #14778, on August 31, approximately around 4:00 pm. The best way to describe the Employees are; Employee 1 and Manager Asst. Amy.
As I began to check out my items, I asked Employee one, "Did I purchase enough items to get the $5 off for the Gain deal, she stated "Yes". I proceeded to place my items on the counter, and once done and received my total, I realized that the $5 digital Coupon did not off of my total. I asked Employee 1 to add another Gain Softner and that maybe it will give me the discount at that time. Which it did not. So, I decided not to purchase the Gain deal due that reason and proceeded to check out. I once again asked Employee #1 to make sure my store coupon that I clipped from the Sunday paper for $5 off when you spend $25 or more come off, because my total still seemed kind of high. Employee 1 stated, yes it did. Once she printed my receipt, I noticed that the $5 store receipt wasn't off. So, I waited patiently for Employee 1 to finish scanning other customers to address the store coupon. Once she barely looked at the receipt...Amy the Asst. Mgr yells to me from across the other register "Ma'am the discount comes off in percentages" I said, " yes, I do understand that the store specials comes off in percentages, but I am referring to the Store coupon for $5 off; and that wouldn't come off in percentages" AMY then proceeds to talk to the Customer in front of her that " It never fails, they always come in making a big deal". She then comes from her register to me, and snatches the receipt out of my hand, to try to show me that it comes off in percentages, when I told her she needed to come down, because she was coming off to strong and that I want to speak to the manager, she in return tells me that it was me coming on too strong and that she was the Mgr, and there was no one for me to talk to, and that she was not going to do nothing for and.. threw the receipt in my buggy. So, after that I decided that I didn't want any of the items I purchased because I wasn't going to spend my money to be treated that way. So, I stood in line to return my items. She fumed to Employee 1 register, asked me for the receipt and I handed it to her. She voided the transaction and went over to her own register, I went to her register because I just knew that she was going to staple the voided receipt to the original and give it to me. I went to reach for the receipt off of the counter, She snatches it and yells, " This is mine, this is store property and you don't take nothing from me". I, in return stated I want copy of the transaction because I am sending it in to Corporate" . AMY then yells, I'm calling the Police! I said go ahead, I'll be right here, because I am calling them too! I waited for the Police to come, I told them what happened and that she refused to give me a receipt, voided or otherwise". They went in the Store, got me a copy of my receipt and told she has had me banned from the store. I told the Police, that is fine, I'll spend my money elsewhere and left. It's Ironic, that all of this happened and could have been avoided if she had of simply just looked at the receipt and admitted that the $5 did not come off, offer me a refund of $5 and I could have been on my way. But, just knowing she was right about percentages without looking at the receipt and having an awful attitude caused an unacceptable experience. I've been going to this particular since it established in my neighborhood a few years ago and have never been treated in such a manner. I have never been treated in such a manner where I have felt the need to write a complaint in this manner. Once you review the receipt, you will notice that there is still a Gain product, which I asked all Gain products to be removed and that there is no $5 coupon discount. Which is al that I was trying to tell your Manager. I believe this is a tactic used to discourage us as customers to come in using coupons. I will hope that you will rectify this situation. Your manager caused an awful seen, and should be reprimanded, for her behavior. I deserve the right to shop where I want, all I asked was to be heard. She just didn't take the time to listen. I trust that you will handle this in a timely manner. I would like to submit the receipt to you, but the site says it's too big.

Please send me and email address to submit receipt to. Thank you.

Dollar General sale add for 8/31 and 9/1 only.

Flyer states save big on dr pepper, canada dry, rc cola, a&w two days only. I went to two different dollar generals on 8/31 at noon and both were sold out by 12:00 the first day of this sale. If you are going to have big sales you should have a product to sale not be sold out before noon of the first day of the sale, so much for the second day with nothing on the shelves. If you cannot supply the product you should not have sales and make people mad when they come to your stores. So much for dollar general big sales!

Dollar General cash back issues

They are very reluctant to give cash back and tend to get offensive about it. It is sad that employees act this way, blaming CSL Plasma (witch is in the same plaza) for there discomfort of going to the bank for cash. The manager gets angry at me for asking about the sign that covers the credit card swiper that says in big letters " NO CASH BACK". I suggest to her that they change the swiper to one that does not offer cash back if it seems to be a problem. Why do they have a problem with cash back ? The manager say that she only gets gas money for one trip to the bank a day, that the patrons of the CSL trow things at her, that she has been spit on. It seem to me that she does not like her job and it reflex in her attitude when those of us from CSL go into the store. If they do not want to give cash back witch we are charged for then talk to the bank not you clients. I had been in this store many time, but it seems to be getting worse the attitude and the service. I was not asking for cash back that day and I don't see myself going back I am not a sounding board and I was offended. I am one of those people that they were complaining about CSL Plasma donor I did not have an arm band on that day but I can imagine that that they feel that way about everyone that has an arm band.

Dollar General diet coke expiration date aug 2017

Two weeks ago I purchased 6 12 packs of diet coke at a Dollar General Store in Clarksville Tn. I noticed a difference in taste but thought it was me so just dumped it. Happened again but drank it. Until today when I had my husband taste it then he looked and date was Aug 2017. Looked in closet and still had one 12 pack and 7 cans in fridge with same date. Don't know about a couple of the other 12packs as I gave them to an outting. I am really up set that this would happen. A year outdated, thought your company was more watchful than that.

Complaint against manager working 8/30/18 at 3:45 pm

I have been a repeat customer at the same dollar general for YEARS. One day an employee came and jus stood next to me as if I was doin somethin I wasn't. She asked if I needed any help and I replied no. I was lookin on a shelf that had a bunch of opened items at the very back and I was shuffling thru them to see if what I needed may have been in there. Also, I was carrying everything I had picked up in my arms. After tellin her no, I said i knew why she was standing there and I found it offensive as I have NEVER stolen from a single place. I even emptied out my pockets and everything. She then got real nasty and asked me to leave. Months later, I walk in and she immediately turned me around. She had no right to accuse me like she did considering I had never given a reason for such treatment

Two things here... Maybe three:

Who are you? The girlfriend of Betty's Ex, An Angry Co-Worker, or a once-friend, who is fighting with Betty for some unknown reason?

Why would you complain about something like this, on an internet complaint board, where you can be tracked, and ultimately sued for everything ? This leads me to assume you have nothing, which is why you are brazenly posting personal financial information about someone else...But, I digress...

To correct you: No, Dollar Store will not be on the hook for the full judgement. Get the facts straight.

Betty has to MAKE a certain minimum amount IN ORDER TO BE GARNISHED IN THE FIRST PLACE! Before you decided to post personal details about someone publicly, did you EVER pause to consider, that Betty may not make enough to even BE garnished in the first place? She works at the Dollar General!

Unless you are an HR director, you dont know how much Betty makes... Or you and Betty were close enough, at one point, for her to tell you. This is why I think that you and Betty are fighting over something.

If Betty worked one shift, then called out for the rest of the week, do you think dollar store CAN LEGALLY take the entire $100 she made for that week, for an old collection bill? No... Garnishment laws are pretty clear: In my particular state, a defendant has to make $175.00 per week, BEFORE they can garnish anything at all.

Crack a spine once in a while, and you may learn something new. :-)

Dollar General manager

Everytime I go to the three rivers michigan dollar general the manager is extremely rude and disrespectful. She is the worse and i have never experienced that before. I will never go there again even tho i live in this town. I travel a distance so I don't feel that negativity. She goes out of her way to follow you around the store. She makes you feel like a criminal and all I'm using is my digital coupons. She hates couponers.

Dollar General the manager of the dollar general on pecan ave in philadelphia ms

I was approached by an employee there, telling me that the manager Angie dearing was bring my name up in conversations about how I support my family and how I should be available to get my child, how I support my child is my business not Angie dearing. My child's mother and I co parent and what we do in our separate lives shouldn't concern the manager at a store I don't work at. My child's mother has to work there but doesn't mean I have to shop there, so as long as Angie dearing is managing the store I will be taking business somewhere else, between me and my grandmother we spend about two hundred dollars a week at that store, so that's 200.00 a week your company will loose.

Dollar General oklahoma city store 1827

Four or 5 weeks ago, while blue star toys were at 90%, I was told my grandsons could not make their purchases and I could not make mine. I have never caused a scene in any of your stores. I welcome anyone to view your servalience tapes. Prior to this visit I, who have a medical disability and my grandsons have been told there was no public restroom and to go to the restaurant on the corner. My small grandsons once took the advice of an adult and while I thought they were in a restroom they were going to other businesses looking for one. They are 5 and 6 and should have known better. That led to me filling out a survey that was NOT a high score. Then a couple of weeks later we were not able to finish our transactions. Told to leave and not come back. I did just that but the boys want to know what we did wrong. So do I. It was the manager that took my cart (the boys had their own purchases and money that were taken). The manager told me u had never been told there was not a public restroom. I told him who told me. I have reached out to your complaint number twice. Told a dm would call within 24 hrs. No call. Kelly...a dm or rm called and told me 24 hours. No call. One third of my home purchases have been made for a year at DG because I can walk when there is no car and Walmart is too big. BUT I AM GETTING UPSET. WHY do you believe someone covering their own and not a customer. I have never made a scene, been impolite, that time I left with boys tearing up. I have sat on this. I am mad...I know my money is small...but there are a lot of people with small money and it adds up. BTW Mr Mgr of 50th and Meridian has the best store in OKC. (According to him)I. Wellhave never been treated so poorly so if he is right don't expect it to last long.

Dollar General verizon recharge card at dollar general

I purchased a Verizon phone card and ask the cashier to put $30.00 on it. When I got home and attempted to use the card it said that the card had already been redeemed for $40.00. The pin number on back was already scratched off. I went back to the store and was told by the manager that there was nothing he could do. He said to call the number on the card for help. Well there is no number on the card! If this card is a recharge card at Dollar General then why could he not give me back my money? Plus if someone placed this card on the rack, are they trying to scam someone? Why are the cards not kept behind the counter or under a lock and key? Well I contacted Verizon and explained what happened and they were kind enough to place the amount on my account and they also said to not do any business with Dollar General using these cards! They have had a lot of problems with Dollar General and advised me to take my business elsewhere. Good sound advice. I think Dollar General needs to train their managers on how to handle these cards and to not leave them accessible to the public! I will not shop at Dollar General anymore and I will make sure I pass along my bad experience and the fact that their customer service is a joke!

I live near the Dollar General Store in Dayton Ohio. Salem and Grand location. This store is beyond nasty, cluttered and unsafe. It is located right across the street from a senior citizen community. This is their only store that many have access to. They can’t even get their wheel chairs down some of the isles. The back of the store is just as bad! This is unacceptable!

Dollar General employment

I recently left a part-time position at a branch in central Virginia. My schedule was very inconsistent. One week I might get 16 hours, another 30 hours and another 10. I was not trained very well as I was usually told how to do something in the middle of doing it or after having done something incorrectly. I think I was the only person at that particular store that wasn't a "key-carrier" even though I wanted more hours. I thought it was a little odd that a certain amount of hours were set for each week, and it never seemed to be the same. It seemed the only time I got any time was when someone called in for some reason. I was always available, morning or night. I actually lived across the street from the store so getting there was not a problem. Also, if there was an issue at the register, a key-carrier had to be called to help with it. It seemed to waste a lot of time waiting for someone to come fix an issue and maybe hold up the line of customers. That also meant that even though there were two working registers, there had to be a waiting line because both employees were essentially on the same register at the time. There was never any more than two people at a time working in the store. There was always stock to put out, which should have taken more than two people at a time. There is a certain amount of stock that needs to be put out in a certain amount of time, but that is difficult to accomplish when, as a cashier, I had to constantly run back and forth from stock to the register. If there were at least two people there, both of whom did have registers to run, why was only one person responsible for taking care of it? Shouldn't both employees be watching for customers at their respective registers, instead of one working stock and informing the other when they were needed at the register?
When I did put up stock, I was always dismayed at how many "holes" there were on the shelves. With all the pressure to get things out, much of it was overstock. Many times customers would come looking for a specific item they knew we carried and it was out of stock at the time. I hoped all the stores weren't run in this fashion, but I assume it is a company-wide issue. I want to get this all out in the hope that the employees, as well as the customers, have a better working and shopping environment.
