Good Morning,
Last night, 3/30/2017, I had a very upsetting and embarrassing moment at the Dollar General Store #12800. While I was walking around the store I bent to look at something on one of the lowest shelves. I carry with me a travel size Kleenex since my allergies are really really bad. This fell out of my purse as I was bent down. So I picked it up and put it back in my purse and then continued to shop. When I got to the register I asked the cashier for a bag of the gain flings, she went off to grab one and I got ready to check out. The manager stepped up to the register and said, with distain in her voice: "Before we can check you out I was told you were shoving stuff in your purse." I looked at her amazed, for a minute I did not think she was talking to me. Then I managed a What? She continued to look at me angrily. I said: "Are you talking about when my Kleenex fell out of my purse and I put it back in?" I showed her the Kleenex. Ready to tell her to go through my purse since she obviously did not believe me. She simply gave me a dirty look and walked away. There was no apology and not even a nod to acknowledge that she made a mistake. I was so embarrassed and felt dirty even though I did not do anything. I had a basket full of items plus a large package of paper towels. I could not understand why someone would think I would stuff things in my purse when I was buying so much other stuff. I walked out without a word but was really upset all night and continue to be upset today. I pride myself on being a honest person. I think that they should be made aware of how the manager at this store treats people. I did nothing wrong and even showed and explained what happened but received no apology. That is the long and short of it I got no apology for my invalid accusation. I shop at Dollar General quite often I enjoy the stores but this was really bad and has really affected me.

The worker named John @ store # 07461 in Groveton Texas is calling ladies hunny and sweet heart, playing inappropriate music on his phone and dancing at the register, also tries to start personal conversations with customers I feel like this behavior is unprofessional. This is a small town and it makes it hard to go into the Dollar General because a clerk makes you uncomfortable and makes your children feel uncomfortable. A simple how are you ma'am have a nice day will do. I feel like there could be a sexual harassment suite possibility if he continues this behavior.

We went to the dollar general in wheelwright ky and the little girl, Cherokee I think was what her name said., waiting on us was absolutely horrible. She acted like we were a nuisance even though we tried being polite she looked straight passed us speaking to other customers and was just completely rude like we ruined her whole day even slamming and banging our items as she bagged them. I just don't understand why she acted like this I believe she needs some better relations training

I have a complaint about an unreasonably rude incident at the Dollar General store at 4501 Rancier Killeen, Texas. I attempted to purchase Coca cola advertised in flyer and print ad as 3 for $4. The employee Kay Smith, refused to honor the advertisement and became highly rude and obnoxious. When I asked to speak to a manager she claimed to be the manager but when I called the store later her story changed and she claimed to be the assistant manager. She stated the actual manager is Agnes Beasley/Easley. As a regular customer I can understand if an ad cannot be honored but the rude and demeaning attitude was completely uncalled for.

On 3/26/17, my neighbor, Debbie, went to Dollar General on Dan Avenue in Jonesboro to pick up some groceries and household supplies. Her granddaughter, Jessica, works at this store, and they are currently not on good terms. When she entered the store, Jessica was checking out another customer, but immediately left the register and headed for the bathroom. At this time, the manager and two other employees surrounded Debbie and began to verbally assault her regarding "what she had done to Jessica." Although what she "did" to Jessica is irrelevant to you, I will tell you that it had to do with turning her in to DHS for possibly allowing an adult family member to molest her child. All of this information aside, Debbie was also told that she could never come back in to that store. She was threatened and felt that she was in danger by your store employees, for absolutely no reason other than entering the store, which she does a couple of times a week due to the convenience of location. There have never been unkind words spoken on the property between these two and Debbie has pretty much raised this child, as she did Jessica and her brother Jamie. I feel that this store manager needs to be removed from her job due to extremely inappropriate behavior to a customer. This also seemed to be planned out, so premeditated attack on a customer is pretty serious. I can tell you that she was extremely scared and shaken up over the threats and the incident. I was at your dollar general store number 06382 and the store manager chuck( he wouldn't give me his last name) was standing at the door and when I walked in he told me I had 5 mins and to hurry up. I said don't u close at 10 and it is 9:40 he told me his watch I had 5 mins. I have never experienced that in my life and am surprised by his attitude.

I am writing and filing a complaint against the store located in Hartfield Va.
But actually against the Dollar General Store policy on sale items. The sale tag lists the dates the item is on sale. I went into the store and picked up several items that were on sale and the sale tag still hung in front of the items I wished to purchase with it being the last day of the sale. But when I went to check out, these items where not on sale after 7p.m. It was approximately 8:30 p.m when I was in the store. The sale sign does not indicate that the sale ends at 7 p.m. It should end when the store closes . False advertisement it would seem? I will not shop at your stores again. There are always problems with the prices listed and a different price when you check out.
I would hope somehow these issues could be fixed. A response would be appreciated.

To Dollar General Support Team and Management Staff

I attempted to shop at the 11816 Central Ave SE Albuquerque NM (Store B-corner of Central Ave and Juan Tabo Blvd in the NE highs) this afternoon on my way home from work (shopping for a coworkers birthday). I found a beach bag for $12.99 right away, I thought it was very cute and perfect for her. I picked it up and proceeded to continue shopping for other birthday items when I was approached by a store attendant and was told I needed to leave the beach bag at the front due to theft. After she took the bag form me, I began to feel very uncomfortable that she assumed I was there to seal the bag and/other items. I approached her and told her the following " I know your are just doing what you think is your job, but what you did was very offensive, if the store is having trouble with theft of the bags why aren't they all locked up at the front of the store?". She said it was just theft management, I then told her "I felt very offended, I work very hard for my money and don't steal" she said nothing. The more I proceeded to shop for my coworkers birthday stuff I felt more and more strange and uncomfortable. I found the lady again and handed over my hand basket of stuff and told her that I felt very strange and decided to not shop there.

In short, I work at the largest hospital in New Mexico and work make very good salary. My house, my truck and my four (4) acres of land are all payed off in full. I spend on average $400-$600 dollars just on myself a month (purses, wallets heels, clothes and hair care)! I don't usually shop at the Doller General and after what happened to me today, I will never attempt to shop there again! In addition, I will I work with a very large amount of people and will also advise them to never shop a a Dollar General either! I will continue to shop at Ross, Rainbow, Hobby Lobby, Target and Wallmart; where I have never experienced this kind of treatment and at the very least they are very nice, helpful and friendly.

In closeing, if the Dollar General wants a better class of people that don't seal to shop at their outlets, I suggest they train their staff personal to treat people with a little respect and courtesy!

I went in and bought 5 small items that could have gone in one bag. I paid out and ask was that everything I bought. Yes. But the checker was talking constantly. When I got home I didn't have my 2 bags of rice. I wasn't feeling well since I had a fall the day before. So I go back to the store and she was still talking about who knows as usual. I ask about my rice and she said I took them. No I didn't. She said I put them in a bag. She probably did but she didn't check when she sack the next persons items. So that person got some free rice. 2.00 is 2.00 for me. I went and got 2 more bags hoping she would make it right. Nope she said no and went right back to talking. About an hour later the store manager shows up at my door with the rice. She has so many complaints on Beth. Something needs to be done. Candie the manager works very hard. Thanks Brenda Sawyer

I stopped at the store on South New Hope Road in Gastonia, North Carolina to pick up a few things. While I was there I bought a pack of candy for $1.35. When I got back to my car I looked in the bag and the candy was not there so I went back into the store to get it. The cashier that waited on me was not at the cash register but another cashier was. so I proceeded to tell her the issue I was having. I picked up a pack of the candy to show her what type of candy it was with my receipt in hand. The cashier that waited on me orginally walked up and I told her I didn't receive my candy. She asked me where did I get the candy I was holding and I told her off of the rack. She jerked the candy out of my hand and told me I could not do that. She took my receipt and said she would go look on the video.
she was very rude and did not even look around her area to see if she misplaced it. I suggested maybe she put it in another person's bag and she said she did not put it in another person's bag. while she was gone looking at the video another cashier seen it laying in the floor behind the cash register counter, so the cashier bought another pack and gave it to me. The girl act like I was trying to steal candy and was very rude. it was bad customer service.

I encountered a man at the register as I entered the store
selling Bracelets for a Cancer patient.
I declined to buy the item telling him "not at this time"
and he became aggressive saying "so when would be a good time"

He seemed to have asked other customers in the store, and no one/Associate/Manager stopped him.
Not sure if you have a policy on solicitation in your stores but I felt uneasy..
Last week outside the store a woman was asking for money

I am not trying to get anyone in trouble but I was mgmt. in retail stores for 20 years and I can't imagine a associate or Manager letting people ask for money without them being asked to leave.
This incident won't stop me for shopping at your store but I wanted for someone to address this

I was an employee there and the Manager at the time would take me in her office and curse me out for what I never knew, well I'm trying to get a job back there but it seems that she did something to keep me from doing so, I would like another chance to work at the sore #2314 because I had to leave because of the manager, her name was Carolyn Lasane and she was always saying she would call corp. office and have them come in and take care of her trashy people, I need my job back and I love working there and I tried to get along with everyone. but she made ti so hard on me I had to leave before my 2week notice was up can you, Please rehire me .Please

I have on two occasions made purchases with digital coupons available and they did not take them off. The clerk said it happens quite a bit, but said there was nothing she could do. I made sure the purchase matched the coupon requirements.

I have also had issues with the sales going on at this same particular store. They do not take their sale signs down, which means if a person is not paying attention, they will be paying full price instead of sale price. Also, the store doesn't go by their advertisement. For instance, their ad said Gain Flings were on sale for $3.95 and then when you used your $2.00 coupon, it would be $1.95. They did not take my coupon off.

There is an employee that has been with the company for close to 4 years and was recently given a much deserved promotion to store manager

The store she took over was a train wreck complete chaos yet she continued to work herself to death getting the store back in shape and all the while she had other employees that were visibly not putting in even half the effort some of them were going as far as to intentionally sabotage her efforts for example I witnessed one man stack items in front of the electrical panel just moments before the district manager came in to see how progress was going the same man I also witnessed stacking things in front of the fire extinguishers and another employee constantly hid stock around the store instead of opening the boxes and actually putting the items in their rightful place

After only two months of this lady doing everything she could to make sure that the company was represented well by straightening up the store as quickly as possible she has now been demoted and was forced to take a hefty pay cut I'm assuming while the same employee who has been sabotaging her and has only been an employee of the company for less than a year is now being given the role of acting manager it has been two weeks at most since the change in leadership and the store has a stock room packed full of unworked stock along with at least three isles that are completely blocked by unworked stock still on carts I have heard customers and employees alike complain about the new manager and the state of the store

The lady who was the manager has helped turn around all three stores in the area and when she gets transfered to another store the customers follow her because we know that she will always make our shopping experience more pleasant

I feel that she is being used only to help other employees advance while she is continually being cut short

My children two boys were playing with toys they shouldn't have been this one's pic included, eye fell out while fooling around with it.The store manager at the time threw a fit over the eye not being able to pop back in the hole thus rudely telling me I was going to pay for it...
Of course I was going to pay for it my children were in the wrong but rudeness and embarrassment to the customer is uncalled for, this woman needs a reality check and some manners I won't be returning to that store ...

Waited in line to check out about 15 minutes. One cashier who is assistant manager other employee was on break. No buggies for consumers to use due to overstock or clearance items. All shoppers used hand baskets. Store is not easily accessable due to overstock because of a double truck delivery of merchandise. Assistant manager was very polite and apologetic.

I'm complaining about the Sports Illustrated Swimming Addition on display at our local Dollar General. There are a lot of elementray and junior high kids that come into this store most without a parent and they don't need to see this Crap on the rack.
I was appalled that you would allow this magazine to be put in a family store.
Please remove it! I will be watching to see if any action is taken about this issue. It's disgusting to see half naked women on display and letting it all hang out😡
I'm a mother and my or my kids will be going back to this store until this is gone!

My mother was in the Dollar General in Mentone on Saturday morning at about 9-10 a.m. She went up to check out and these two women behind her were absolutely belligerent thinking she had cut in line, spewing nasty profanities (with my two young children in tow, classy) and that cashier did nothing trying to calm these ladies. My poor mother had to just stand there and take it with minimal rebuttals as she respects children and didn't want to make it worse. She gets out to the parking lot and one of the ladies gets checked out and she follows her out and starts in again. My mom could not get my kids buckled in fast enough and runs to get in the car. Again, no assistance from any employee around. Im very tempted to ask the store for surveillance evidence (if there even is any at all) because I want to press charges. Sad when you cant go to a small town store and be so intimated while workers just watch.

Store forces me to check out at express line with full cart of groceries. I don't want to use this checkout but no one else is there. When I have 75 items to buy, it makes others behind me mad as it should. Manager should open a lane for people with large orders. I don't know if this is because of no help or bad management. I will leave my cart full of food and exit the store if this happens again!

03/18/17 Entered around 8:30. Guy employee saw me, he knew I was in the store. I was done shopping and headed over to checkout. I saw a female employee heading to the office area and the guy employee going to the back of the store. After waiting a little thinking that the female employee was going to return. I looked at my phone and it said 9:02. I can see the girl employee sitting in a chair, she knew I was there and never said anything to me. It was obvious she was ignoring me. The guy employee finally returned and said "Where closed, where you in here." I replied "Yes." He said "We can't check you out." and walks over to the door opens it and waits for me to leave. After a couple seconds, I realized what had just happened. So I just left. After 2 years of shopping at that store that was such horrible treatment that I will never shop at a dollar general again.
